I created a bootstrap for PayCon, the file is 76mb and takes approximately an hour and a half to reindex the whole Blockchain. This is useful for new users in that they can use the bootstrap and sync up their clients from first install much quicker. For first install navigate to your data directory (appdata/roaming/PayCon for Windows, .PayCon for Linux), just have the bootstrap.dat, PayCon.conf and wallet.dat(optional) in this directory. Open PayCond or PayCon QT, it will reindex the Blockchain and seem to hang but atleast 75% time savings on first install. Let it finish and it will catch up once finished indexing. Download: https://mega.co.nz/#!DhVHEQiC!wY_e2gzCtVsHX8a3um6IFjAUdiNTlCYqGW46Ga-0KYw
bootstrap.dat file, created at Wed Jun 3 13:46:07 PDT 2015 sha256sum: 0cc0cfb3533ac15b5c0982e7d70432cdfd95bdc47d7c62267a9d28509eb00427 md5sum: 4cc330d826c8344b2806753e1414ba45 Verify before using it!
Thank you to Biomech and billotronic for the help the end user would put the bootstrap into their datadir, start the client, the client processes the blocks, you save a shit ton of time vs syncing a virgin client. it is not the fastest thing in the world, but i would guess of the time savings at the very least 75%. also, super sexy pi client just cooked for distro from sluppy can be found on the release page check it out. So you put it in the same directory as the Blockchain? If you have an existing Blockchain do you delete that? What is the reason of renaming it bootstrap.dat? Would it just not be easier to replace the Blockchain with another one and not have to rename it? Congrats on the new pi client!!!Yes, you put it in (in this case) .hyperstake (or the windows/Mac equivalent) and then delete everything but wallet.dat, hyperstake.conf and bootstrap.dat The reason for renaming it is that the core code looks for bootstrap.dat to import a static blockchain, and it imports the whole freaking thing before indexing it. That saves a shitload of time. The reason for not just copying the whole .hyperstake (or whatever coin) data directory is that the data may be corrupt, have transactions only specific to your wallet, etc. And of course, the size. Everything that is needed for the client to extract all that information is in the blk000* files. There are several of them as the blockchain grows, so if you're making a bootstrap AND there is more than one, you need to combine them in serial order. It's easy to do, and it will save you endless headaches when synching a new install or recovering a messed up wallet install. Another thing I do, and highly suggest if you're not running on a Pi or something tiny like that is add txindex=1 to your configuration file. This pulls ALL the blockchain data, like a block explorer. so you can pull up the data from any valid block in the chain in your own client, not just the ones you had a transaction in yeah what bio said! and I am almost 100% certain you should close the client before doing so. (I always do)
best part is with hyp since the blockchain is still small you can actually just rename blk0001.dat to bootstrap.dat or cat it like bio said if you wanted to make it nice and automated.
that is a feature press should put into his explorer.
https://ecua.mobi/how-to-create-bootstrap-dat/There ya go. I used it once, but didn't have a download directory setup. I do now, and once GMC is fixed, I'll be using this script to maintain a constantly updated bootstrap. Might do the same for all the coins I collect Though that would require a bigger server than I have right now. At any rate, the script works with minimal modification, or you can just do it manually. You MIGHT need to run this as root or chown your blocks directory to make it work, though. Perfect! That's exactly what I was looking for, I knew you guys were holding out on me Tip you guys come CON for the help?

I liked how coins started claiming they were donating / funding research for the Ebola disease when it hit the news. Then I explained in detail how it's funded by a branch of the USA Dept Of Defense *exclusively and the only two labs that have the permit to work on a treatment / vaccine are based in Canada and the USA. Both working on 2 different *cures.. one needing 1 dose and includes prevention (Canada) and the other needing 2 or more doses. and I went on and on and then asked so uhh where is the money going ? Can you show us all proof you are donating money to the US DOD dept. ? If your not sending it there your not working on the cure.. simple. And of course I got the run around.. scammers busted.
Like the so called various "Green" coins that make up lies about planting Trees for carbon coin credits.. pure bullshit !
They use anything they can like hey an Earthquake in Nepal happened let's make an Earthquake donation related coin LOL Hell even well known legit charities are notorious for spending only small portions of the donations they get on actual charity. They usually spend most of it on generating more funding and padding each others pockets and the Africans get 10 cents on the dollar for water etc.. if their lucky LOL The Music industry is the same too the very best and most popular artists reach a cap of around a penny on the dollar for record sales. and the bands who don't reach record sales quotas get far less than that.. which is why they rely so much on touring and merch sales. The usual bs around our spinnig lump of shit we call earth.. and we're all just the maggots, 7 billion of them scurrying around feeding.
^ This. Btw FAIL will soon try to change the game... FAIL soon™ Spots is right around 90% of the time, the other 10% is bullshit.

With 115k, and you had 115 Blocks of 1000 Coins to Stake at the minimum age, that would be roughly 1800 CON per day. Of course you can also play around with your Block sizes and see if you can squeeze a little more out of it.
And in order to have blocks of 1000 i setted setstakesplitthreeshold 1000 after manually splitting them equally, is that right? Should be where it will combine multiple blocks if under the threshold and split if it can make 2 Blocks larger than the threshold.

very well, it must be difficult to come here and essentially beg for zencloud account support from the troll/fud army and the head traitor. /s I don't really want to rub it in though.... seems too easy, lol.
That's a new title. I thought I saw you referenced that way on one of the payhashtalk.xpee forums. I didn't even realize I was part of some army. You aren't part of an army, trust no one.

Why not just use that to invest in existing Coins and building infrastructure from there.
|
|
|
Can't believe that this is still going on.
Seems to be evolving into the altcoin scam cleanup thread.
|
|
|
is this now the new zencloud support thread or what? please move this garbage away.
Have mercy on them. This seems to be the only place to get accounts unlocked and Hashstakers are releasing coins in a couple of weeks... brace yourselves for the mother of all dumps. I bet many of the people asking here hate our guts but it's the only way to unlock their accounts. Must be excruciating to swallow their pride. Doesn't it feel good to be right about everything? "still winning"

Yep, really amazing design Back from Asia Nice! How was Asia? I've always wanted to go, I did a day stopover in China if that counts.

I've been a little less active with it lately, should have a client update for CV2 available fairly soon to clean up some bugs. Doing testing of improved orphan removal, fix a wallet lock/unlock bug, how transactions are displayed, minting range in transaction history, new RPC calls (deleteaddress, getstaketx, getweight), estimated time in Coin Control.
Just working on tweaks to the estimated timing, testing so maybe about a week out.

Idunk and myself are under the thinking that smaller and thus more blocks is better then larger ones. I can't speak for him, but my split is set at 1k and most of my blocks are under 3k...
ONE of these days I wanted to set up two DO droplets and have a controlled experiment for a few months... maybe this would be a good time to get off my ass and set that up.
Yep, no time like RIGHT now. I have set my timer. I expect a report come September 1st! Smaller Blocks have an advantage because of larger drops in difficulty from people moving big chunks of coins so early on in the drop, there will be lots of smaller Blocks that can Stake. It's a lottery so it's better to have more tickets.

Here you go try this. I collected all the peer addresses from my largest node and added it into a config file that you can add and have better connection with the network, I get atleast 50% more connections when using it. What's the advantages of more connections? I've got about 10-16 (can't remember exact number) but more than 10 for sure. I normally get about 65 connections, the advantage is that it populates among the network much quicker and gives better consensus. I'm also testing out some of my latest changes at the moment, looks pretty good so far and already an improvement.

it seems the account MRCEO went inactive again on hashtalk. Maybe he left for another scam outside of the cryptoverse?
Oh the going of darkness.

looks like the initial scam is creating offset scams where people who lost money think it's alright to scam others to make back their money.
perhaps, the account unlock issue seems related only to zencloud, but scummy scammers scam. But yeah. physical miner scam to virtual miner to who-the-hell-wanted-this-xpee coin scam to now multiple offset scams by 2nd/3rd level lieutenants who got fucked or promised the world. Heck, coldcoiner was called out a long time ago but apparently he now wants to defecate in odd places. edit: virtual miner=PNG! I had posted on a couple of their threads after paul revere started eating into it, lots of holes and the guy doesn't know when to shut up and gets riled easily, 3rd world lieutenants or victims of their own greed. The man on a horse with a lantern has done an amazing job with the modern printing press in exposing what many knew but not all could see. edit: seriously, coldcoiner is so full of what comes out of the rear of the horse that it's not even funny. really... a cryptsy account because the local wallet is fucked ? I appreciate his candor and wit, the name seems quite fitting. I think many should have seen it but maybe there's some that wouldn't.

I think he's just trying to troll you guys at this point.
No way anyone in their right mind should have their money anywhere near this coldwankboner guy.

So you are saying you are doing a swap of XPY to TNT and TNT will have a floor of $1 a Coin but I see so many holes in this that it cannot possibly work.
1. There is no mention about the amount of premine, even sourcecode and the source is a direct copy of XPY (which is shit code itself)
2. Promises of $1 a Coin which is absolute bullshit because there is no transparency into who is financing that or anything remotely detailed.
3. Scam exchange which guarantees 100% hack proof which is not possible and since TNT is using bought and newbie accounts, it is very likely that there will be a "hack" where Coins are just sold off.
4. Shitty designs of everything, lack of complete comprehension of basic language, Cryptocurrency and 0% proof of anything.
YOUR COIN IS NOT WORTH $1 A COIN BECAUSE IT TAKES 1 HOUR TO CLONE SOURCECODE
After the initial pump and dump the amount of sell pressure will break your pseudo $1 wall, of course that doesn't matter if you are holding all the Hyper-Inflating Hybrid Flex Cashtakers.

I collected all the peer addresses from my largest node and added it into a config file that you can add and have better connection with the network, I get atleast 50% more connections when using it. Go to Control Panel In the Search box, type Folder Click "Folder Options" Click the tab that says View Make sure there is no check in the box for "Hide file extensions for known file types" (de-select this option and click OK) Exit Control Panel
On Windows 8, right-click the start button and select "Run" (for Windows 7, left-click the start button and type "run" into "Search Programs and Files", then click Run at the top of the list) In "Run", type %appdata% and press Enter You should see the folder located at Appdata/Roaming Open the PayCon folder Right-click and Create New File - create a new Text document Open the document with Notepad Paste the following into the file: (but put a username and password instead of "username" and "password")

Paper's done, sent it over to the Digital Currency Council for final edits and publishing. Ends up being 9 pages no spaces. As a side note I stuck with just forking a chain and ignored the blacklisting addresses part. At that point it got to be too much to write about. Maybe in the future I can write an addendum to it. Some interesting things that I discovered during research, there was one coin that was 51% attacked as a PoS coin (called "coin2"). I think this is the only real world example of a PoS 51% attack. Anyways, I would hope that it gets released in a week or two. And im very eager to hear feedback on it! ApexCoin was POS attacked as a demonstration, I think for the most part POS is safer against 51% attacks but it's all in how the Staking works.

Crestington another question, does staking for charity work properly? i tried it and wanted to sent 30% but for every found block the wallet was sending 60%
I'll take a look at it, the place I was at before had really bad connection to the internet, could browse mostly but always getting cut off, couldn't run any local wallets. I've got lightning fast internet now and about a month off with no obligations, If you thought I was active before...

This might be anoying for you. but if your total balance is around 8.5k CON you´ll get in average 0.6 - 1% daily by staking which is 90 CON for you or 3 blocks per day. I'd love to know how to calculate these incomes. Is there some kind of way to do the math with difficulty and block size? Also does this mean that with 115k i'll make around 2.5k a day? With 115k, and you had 115 Blocks of 1000 Coins to Stake at the minimum age, that would be roughly 1800 CON per day. Of course you can also play around with your Block sizes and see if you can squeeze a little more out of it. You want to atleast gain as much as the money supply growth, but I'd say on average about 50% of the network is Staking at any given time so if there is 0.6% inflation per day, your target should be around 1% per day.
