1081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 21, 2023, 12:58:54 PM

Overall, yes we don't know the future of the team if Harden will be on the Clippers, but I just shared my opinion base on their performances, and experiences in the past. I hope that I'm wrong with the injury part, and hoping still that they will not get injured, but if that happen, Kawhi, PG, and Harden will be traded next year since they have an expiring contract.
Paul George may be on the trade block. That might be the cost of Harden. With the frequency of injuries that PG and Kawhi face, I would look to unload both of them for some younger talent. I cannot see a good future for the Clippers if they plan to try to keep both of these guys.

If it's about talent, there is no doubt that these mentioned players have what it takes to be a champion or at least caliber-like but if we're talking about the welfare of the team while also considering these players health, the Los Angeles Clippers will not benefit if they will still give them an extension within their expense because there is no guarantee that teams will still risks some money for them in the upcoming seasons.
1082  Economy / Economics / Re: Food Crisis - Improved, Worsen or still the same in your country (No Change)? on: July 21, 2023, 03:36:10 AM
Living in a primary agricultural country you'll think the price of agricultural food will be lower, but no. Food crisis in relation to how expensive food is getting, is basically getting worse. Back then you can still get a month worth of food supply with minimum work salary, but no you can barely survive two weeks with it. Most of the locally made/harvested goods are twice as expensive that people who were able to buy them back then now has to think twice about purchasing them.
This is really true. Rice has been getting more expensive despite the fact that rice is one of the major agricultural crops in our country. So how much more from those foods that are being imported from other countries. Obviously, the food price inflation is getting more worse. If before it’s easier for regular earners to eat 3 to 5x a day, now even 3x a day is getting a lot of budget from our own funds.
1083  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To Understand the Potential of BTC, What we Must Know? on: July 21, 2023, 02:57:46 AM
I agree with the op's general idea. The potential of Bitcoin as a currency shines if one understands the issues with banks and fiat, and knows that Bitcoin is truly different. The fact that your funds can't be frozen, and you can send and hold money without anyone's approval, using a non-custodial wallet, is a big thing, but only if a person knows how much oversight banks have.
But to many people, Bitcoin's potential as an investment is much more interesting, and to estimate that, I think one needs to be familiar with the main adoption stories and the price chart.
Bitcoin and fiat are obviously designed as a currency, but the difference is that fiat is centralized which is totally controlled by the government while bitcoin is a decentralized currency which enables you to have the full control over your own coins. Hence, anonymity and privacy is more realized especially if you are a big time bitcoin buyer and seller. However, all the potentials of bitcoin will end up useless if the user alone is not knowledgeable or familiar enough on how to use it at its high advantage. That’s the reason why bitcoin is not used by everyone because some refused to be educated believing that fiat is more than enough compared to bitcoin.
1084  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to grow the bitcoin you have? on: July 20, 2023, 09:59:46 PM
How to grow the bitcoin you have without being involved in gambling or putting it in a custody wallet for APY. Is there any proven low risk method.
Through using DCA. You can always increase your volume of bitcoin by DCAing everytime you receive extra money from your salary, or whenever you see good chances to accumulate more bitcoin. That way, even if the price continue to surge high, your amount of bitcoin continue to increase as well. On the other hand, gambling is not a means to gain more bitcoin, but it’s definitely a way to lose your bitcoin all of a sudden. Know that when you gamble, you are losing your capital most of the time, as winning some amount is still rare to happen.
1085  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can I save my brother by investing in btc now? on: July 20, 2023, 07:36:39 PM
sorry,I come from China,The following is translated by machine ,My brother has leukemia. I have already owed  30,000 US dollars. But my brother still hasn't improved. I finally got the bone marrow last week. The doctor said it would cost about 75,000 US dollars. My total assets are about 3,000 US dollars now. If I want to treat my brother. Is it too late to buy btc now?thank you
Sorry to hear about your current situation but I should say investing your money with bitcoin is not worth the risk this time. Not because it’s not profitable anymore, but because you cannot simply invest and expect quick returns from your capital, especially if that capital is never your spare money. I just hope you can still find other means to provide for your brother’s operation. And maybe you can consider investing in bitcoin later on when you have enough extra money that you can afford to lose.
1086  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Spreading bitcoin awareness; Your personal security matters first on: July 19, 2023, 08:56:17 PM
This is a great way to increase bitcoin adoption spread to others, but isn’t this done at the detriment of the advocate’s safety and privacy?
Of course the one who will share this must already been secured his safety and privacy in a sense that they knew about bitcoin wallet and how to protect it from scams and been stufied the private key and related security purposes.

Some have engage in bitcoin thru trading so likely they are people whom suggest a cex and thats normal since thats what they knew, they heard, they learn and etc. We cant really make it 100% uniform for everyone how they gonna spread bitcoin but since we are in forum we can explain to them what we knew and its up to them to understand and implement whats best for them.

At least we did our part.
Spreading awareness about bitcoin need not to be risky that will eventually put your own security at risk. Just do your part at your own comfort as you can never convince people to believe about bitcoin forcing them to learn especially when their concern is not to break the law made by the government. In fact, this forum alone is a good outlet to spread awareness as we welcome a lot of newbies that are interested to learn about bitcoin and how  it can be used in the real world.
1087  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading tips that helpfull for beginners on: July 19, 2023, 08:22:17 PM
Risk Tolerance :
Define your trading goals it,s may be short-term or may be long-term gain. If you prefer actively managing trading by market news then the shot trade is the best option for you. Profit and loss depend on the risk high risk may give you a high gain or high loss but a good strategy cover it deeply.
Beginners won't understand this too early. What they need to have is to have more experience and gain more knowledge through it and then this will be learned.

This also includes the amount that they want to trade and to start with because not everyone starts big already and that's the entire process that a beginner should go through.
Beginners only goal is to make profits, and that they are not much aware on having some risk tolerance. But as they go on with their experience in the market, consistently making some trades, while gaining more knowledge and honed some skills, they will definitely discover it on their own. As they can’t be successful in their trading career without takings some risk and learning how to minimize or reduce the risk in it.
1088  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A opinion on regrets on: July 19, 2023, 07:59:25 PM
We regret about missing Bitcoin, then about XRP then about Ethereum then Doge then Shiba then Pepe (these are some top of my head and from what I've come across in my crypto term).

Point being there are always new opportunities and dwelling on regrets is futile.

The problem with humans is we always regret for what we missed despite knowing that there was a good chance that we might still not have entered it even if we had an idea about this thing. If I'll tell you today that this shitcoin could rise you'll still call me a stupid and might not agree with me but you'll surely regret it once you see it reaching new heights, fact is that your decision of not believing me was absolutely correct if factually this investment looked wrong to you, other than this you can't do anything more all you can do is trust your own fate.
Most likely, people make instant decision without doing some research at first, or making some moves so they will know if their decision is right or wrong. Then once their decision gone wrong, they will start regretting and continue to miss another opportunities again that could have change their lives. That is a wrong mindset. Yes, everyone is free to make some choices and regret it if things did not work out as planned, but staying in regrets and not moving forward will only make their situation worst, thus leaving them incapable to live their life at its fullest.
1089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't expect everyone to embrace Bitcoin on: July 19, 2023, 07:22:05 PM
Bitcoiners have the opportunity to stand for something and that's eliminating the need for central authorities such as the government and banks and rather than forcing everyone to confirm to their beliefs, it's better to find an audience worth serving. What's your take, guys?
You can not force anyone to embrace bitcoin, people have to discover why bitcoin can benefit them if they buy it. And that is not all, they also need to know the right time to invest and not invest at the wrong time when bitcoin price has increased significantly.

We like or we do not like, people will invest in bitcoin. More people will know it and buy it and the price will continue to increase after long period of time. Some people may not like bitcoin and remain to be bitcoin critics, but if I can invest and make money, I do not care. That is life, everybody can not be on the same side
Everyone has its own say about bitcoin, some would end up acknowledging and become thankful that bitcoin exists, while others continue to make fake news about bitcoin because that’s what also their beliefs about bitcoin, and we have no control for that. However, what’s important is that bitcoiners know the real advantage of bitcoin, and that we keep gaining an edge and grab every opportunity that comes for bitcoin while others continue to miss it and might end up regretting wishing they have not curse bitcoin to death.
1090  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 17, 2023, 06:17:39 PM
~
I personally would want to see an underdog story especially if the challenger is worth it, just like this one because Ngannou is not a push over.
We all probably seen those stories if you're around in the 80s - 90s era where there are challengers surfacing who would want to take their chance.
You are mentioning the underdog story of a boxer making a huge upset, Francis Ngannou is making his boxing debut. In MMA he is a force to recon as he has huge power, if you check out all his knockouts in MMA you will understand why he will not replicate the same in boxing especially against someone elite like Tyson Fury, who could read the punch coming from a mile Grin.
So, you mean that upsets are impossible to happen to a fight where the challenger is still making his boxing debut? I seriously think that it's not really limited to boxers who already have their own share of experience in this industry.

And while it is correct that Fury is an elite boxer, that is not a guarantee that it will be a walk in the park for him just because of the stated fact above. Francis Ngannou might have no experience in boxing professionally, but I still believe that he got a fair chance against Fury.
1091  Economy / Economics / Re: Is poverty a lack of money? on: July 17, 2023, 05:54:27 PM
We can say that poverty refers to lack of money, We can consider weather individual are able to full fill their basic needs or not. If He/she are able to full fill their family's basic needs then we cannot consider them under poverty level. Poverty is said to exist when people lack the means to satisfy their basic needs. There are several things to determine poverty like poor education, unemployment, over population etc. We can reduce poverty with Productivity and incomes from occupations and livelihoods are important factors for reducing poverty. Social conditions such as health, nutrition, education and housing influence productivity, thus affecting poverty status.

~~~
I believe that poverty is one of the most controversial issues. The fact is that there is a dilemma about who would you give a million dollars to: to a thousand poor strangers or to one native person? There is no right answer to such a question. My friend crypto millionaire likes to serve to the poor. And I think it's not right. I immediately remember the saying: do not give the poor a fish, but teach him to fish, because then he will be full all his life.
While you are indeed right about that, there is nothing wrong with what your friend is trying to do because serving the poor literally much better than doing nothing, the fact that he is a millionaire doesn't mean that he's the only one that is entitled to help the poor because you too mate have the power to help them. You might not have the resources to help them financially but I'm quite sure that you can teach them how to fish, right?
1092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 16, 2023, 10:26:59 PM
Yes, Nonito is more technical than Pacquaio and probably the reason why he is can fight up to this point. Not that badly damage as compare to Manny wherein he has go to a lot of wars around 126-135 against some of the great boxers during that era. And then at 140-147, fighting bigger guys.
Not really that technical, though Donaire has also suffered devastating knockouts in his career. It's Pacquiao who is truly more technical in the ring. Although he may be perceived as a brawler, his exceptional ring IQ is highly evident in most of his fights, allowing him to dominate his opponents.
Both Nonito Donaire and Manny Pacquiao are highly skilled boxers known for their technical abilities. However, the concept of 'technical' can be subjective. In terms of style, Donaire is often considered more technical because he has mastered the peek-a-boo technique. On the other hand, Manny excels in various aspects of boxing, making him more technically proficient overall compared to Nonito.
I agree, Manny is considered as a brawler, as compare to Nonito who uses more if his boxing skills and then his impeccable timing to win against his opponents. So they are very different in terms of their style, but they accomplished the same goal, winning titles in multiple divisions.
And Nonito Donaire may have another crack to win the bantamweight title at age 40, defying father time just like Manny when he defeated Thurman. So we will see how it goes for Donaire and hopefully he can accomplished this record.
The torch has been passed down, Manny Pacquiao did his time and now while Donaire is still active, he got that responsibility to wave the Filipino flag again and be the second Filipino champion to exist this year. It will be a rocky road because father time is really catching up on him but Donaire is not yet ready to give up his dreams and will attempt again the secure the belt, besides, I know that he got this fight because his opponent is not the kind of boxer who can finish him with a surprise.
I wouldn't category call it a passing of the torch Manny and Nonito is almost contemporaries in their career, although different in weight class. That's why during the mid to late 2010's Philippine boxing is really enjoying it's high because of this 2 fighters and other boxers too.
There are a lot of young Philippine boxer though, but so far, majority of them lost in the last couple of years. And it was just Nonito who was able to win a belt. But now it's Marlon Tapales and hopefully they can make a comeback and produce more world boxing champions. Nonito has a great chance to be included again in history if he will win against Santiago.
Well, it depends on what you mean on your own phrase because by passing of the torch for me, is that Pacquiao entrusted it all to Nonito Donaire to carry the Philippine flag because at that time, Pacquiao did his retirement and since Donaire is still active, there's no sense to pass the torch to a much younger line because Donaire is still active in the sport.
And if Donaire will retire in the next couple of years or this year, we never know when, I think it's much sensible for Casimero to carry it and continue that the have started.
1093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympic Games, but doping is allowed?! on: July 16, 2023, 10:07:01 PM
I hope whoever comes up with these competitions understands that the main problem with doping is not that it is cheating, but that it is dangerous for athletes in terms of survival (as well as going beyond their normal capabilities, by the way). It is unlikely that anyone will be interested in watching a run if, say, a couple of athletes out of a thousand (I take a very modest figure - in fact it can be much more) die right on the treadmill every year. In general, I do not think that in any adequate jurisdiction this will be allowed.
Performance enhancing drug will always pose some risks to the users body and I don't see any reasons why this kind of event should be pursued because one day they will feel that they are the strongest man or athlete in the world but afterwards, the effect is unbearable as fatigue and stress will eventually catch up with them which led to a few days rests because the body will badly need it. Some are lucky to be alive to tell their own story but to some who are unfortunate enough to survive, I hope they will be a lesson for the athletes who wanted to do the same thing.
1094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you play more on casino when your country plans to ban BTC? on: July 16, 2023, 09:50:35 PM
So personally, I would never gamble all my Bitcoins just because my government has banned Bitcoin but I would hold them in a non-custodial wallet and keep them for as long as I can because maybe some day in the future, I get to use them somewhere that might benefit me in some way.
There is no sense in gambling all the funds inside our wallets just because the government are planning to ban bitcoin and the use of other cryptocurrency, if that is what the people are thinking, I don't doubt why they are losing frequently because they have that kind of mindset. We always have a choice even though our own government is banning the existence of bitcoin, we can still go back to the basic and gamble like nothing happened.
Such a mindset is indeed very bad for spending the entire contents of the wallet because of something that makes gamblers unable to control themselves and even though even if the government bans bitcoin or crypto there are still other ways to keep gambling responsibly as discussed by some people here by moving to gambling use fiats.
Maybe it's not as interesting as betting using bitcoin but at least you can still continue gambling but don't have to use large amounts.
No doubt why they are feeling unlucky because they are treating the government's move to ban the bitcoin as if it's already the end of the world where they feel the urge to pour all their remaining resources in one go while they can still play because in the following days and months, all of it will change.
What they don't see is the other side, where there are still plenty of things to do from those remaining coins they have. But since they are a gambler and just thinking about their habits, I see why they have a poor decision making.
1095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Minimum Age to gamble on: July 16, 2023, 09:29:13 PM
What age were most of you really when you started gambling though? I want to say I started playing cards for money around 12-13, and by 16 I was betting decent amounts of money with my friends. By 18 I was betting in casinos, but never as much as when I was gambling with friends. Since then my gambling interest has pretty much declined until now.
I think that at the age of 12-13 you were not playing for substantial money, but for something like pocket money that is not so important. But times are changing and now I know schoolchildren of 12-14 years old who are engaged in speculation with in-game stuff and they earn money comparable to the average salary in my country. And some of them are betting.
They can bet with their friends as well, I knew some who gambles in some sites that are illegal there's no age restriction and the amount required to play is kinda small so it doesn't matter if they are using their pocket money or not. I think as long as you are interested to it you cannot be stopped, so I think it is parents responsibility actually, but if it what they have in their environment maybe that is the possible reason why they are gambling too early.
Yes, it indeed falls on the parent's responsibility because they are just a kid and a minor too, for starters. But if the parents is not a good role model to their children and openly do illegal things in front of them, then it is not that surprising if the children will also engage into such activities. It might be a little pocket money for us but that is just a start because at that age, their mind is not that fixed to reality and they don't know what will happen to them if they got addicted, what they know is just it is entertaining because their parents are also doing it.
1096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How real?That football players required to bribe before they are allowed to play on: July 16, 2023, 09:14:25 PM
I have heard similar stories in my country, and it's also for both for the movie and music industries too. stories like you have to pay money before you can be allowed to act some roles in the movie scene. I believe that those stories might not be lies, but if that's true, such a situation could only be common among up-coming footballers, and it's not right to request such a bribe before allowing them to perform. Although they are still good players, when they become very successful and popular players, they will still make more money than they have spent.
It's not that surprising anymore because this is happening almost everywhere in this world, no matter what industry you are trying to go, there are chances that they will ask you for some money for a fee that doesn't really exist. Even receipts doesn't exists in this kind of scenario, you will just give what they wanted in-exchange for the hopes that you will be given the time that you wanted to perform in your chosen industry.
Bribery has been around us for generations now, tough to say but it became tradition already even if it's a bad practice.
1097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 15, 2023, 10:13:16 PM
An official offer from Miami for Dame has been made. Tyler Herro and a few draft picks. We’ll see what happens there. The big news of the day out of Miami though is Jimmy Butler hooking up with Shakira. I wonder how that’s going to impact his offseason training. Usually famous women don’t have a positive effect on athletes…
You think Portland accept that? I think they will hold out for another player or pick honestly. They're not going to get much more then that considering Lillards age, but 1 more pick is possible.
Far as Shakira and Butler, good for him. She freaking sexy!!!
Agreed that won't get it done.  Their near term picks wouldn't be worth it because good chance they would land at the end of the draft, and if they are years from now that doesn't help their rebuild right now.  Portland has all the time in the world to wait to move Dame.  I can even see this get into the season where Dame is still a blazer.  Blazers know they aren't winning the chip this year they can play chicken with the rest of the league.
We know Miami is not going to come off of Butler or Bam, but I can see anyone else on the roster being up for grabs. You're probably right on Portland having all the time in the world here. They're probably thinking of what the Rudy Golbert trade got and if Dame was 3 years younger they could probably command that, but he's just not.
They can always add Nikola Jovic to the list and even Kyrie Lowry will be used in this trade and a few first round picks just to get Dame out of the Portland towards their roster, but I cannot really understand why Miami Heat is making things more difficult to them as if they are the ones who have the upper hand in this trade when in fact they are the ones who wanted to get Dame.
If things go worse and Portland will change their decision and start talking to other teams, they can only blame themselves for that.
1098  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take advantage of the price fall. on: July 15, 2023, 09:51:58 PM
Is been a hard knocked to everyone trading bitcoin this seasons especially investment, my friend was sore disappointed for the recent falling of price because he bought $1000 bitcoin but the truth is that we cannot foresees the future in today, this is not the first time the price is Reding down, we should take advantage of this time at least you can use a small to purchase high value bitcoin. I wish we've profound bitcoin price analyst here, many people really wants to know the cause of continues price deflected, if you've ideas please your comments will be very important here. We newbies this days fall victims a lot because of ignorance of cryptosystem. Let's talk as a family.
Price falling doesn't guarantee that it won't rise again, which is why it's called an investment. He should have been aware of the risk before investing because you can make money and lose it all when you make a short-term investment. However, if your friend made a long-term investment, I think he wouldn't lose anything because you can't lose money when investing in bitcoin if you don't do it for short periods of time. By being aware of everything before investing, mate you will benefit when the moment is right.
That is why we should study first before we start our process towards investment, buying a coin is the easiest thing to do in the world of cryptocurrency and the challenge will begin if the market starts to dip, and by that time, a question will pop on your mind that if your investment will survive or not. But if you have known right from the start and weigh the risks, these things will be prevented/avoid because you understand how it works and why does it happen.
1099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can NFTs last forever? on: July 15, 2023, 09:31:48 PM
Speaking about NFT then if we do look on Opensea on how it did end up then we could really say that this market turns out to be shit. Lots of those buyers on peak or having bought up with those millions of
dollars when it comes to NFT's are surely in almost 100% loss of their investment because most of the value is kissing into the floor now. Its true that we might be seeing some another adjustments
or enhancement about NFT but im not really that expecting that much. We wont know on what would be the next current trend.
Yes. it does feel tough as you pointed out The NFT market went through periods of popularity and high prices, but also experienced a decline in value. Investing in NFTs carries risks, and some buyers may experience losses. The future of the NFT market is uncertain, and it is difficult to predict the next trend.
NFT was a bit sort of a scam, I believe. Investors was victimized to this but they cannot blame nobody because they are the ones who have chose to invest in it even though it carries risk that are still unknown, still they pursue it and bought millions with it. But where's all of that now? I doubt that they can still sell it at a much higher price compared to the price when they bought it because NFT is surely going down and will eventually fade as the time goes by.
1100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Understanding cryptocurrencies and investment. on: July 15, 2023, 09:12:07 PM
How do we identify the best coin and the period to invest in these types of coins?
Bitcoin itself is already a crowned as the best crypto to invest in and has been with us for more than a decade already, it might be a bumpy road to all who have invested into bitcoin but all of those challenges did always come to an end because after every rain (dips), light will always prevail. To summarize, bitcoin is the greatest and the most worthy coin to invest with, and it is good for long term investments rather than letting your funds sit on the bank. If you as an investor is inclined to invest into other coins, you can always do your own research to identify which is the best coin that will suit you.
