I would like to hear from BTC TALK community about the fairness of our decision. You all perfectly know that, I am always on a players side and I do my absolute best to be a watchdog for our community inside the office. But in this case, personally I think that company decision was fair.

100% fair if it was a bug exploit, what else could you do?

Accepting the huge win the guy got would mean that any new bug can (and should) be abused by the players then they just have to use the tons of funds from the bug to play on other games and withdraw those games coming from "not buggy games".

Nothing to do here but to cancel the winnings. It's fair in my opinion.

BUT

Was it bug abuse?
Seems to me that no it wasn't.
Hence... You won't be fair by denying the winnings right?

Hence you can't do much... I don't see how you can act fairly. Just deny the payments and get a reputation of not paying jackpots...

Hmm...

How to phrase this?

Hmm...

Is it really a divine rule and all? Yeah? M'kay

1144  Economy / Gambling / Re: Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 play & invest - BTC - LTC - ETH - DOGE on: December 26, 2018, 03:33:00 PM
That seems like a mistake. It should just be 0.5% of the effective bankroll. Otherwise if the average leverage is over 5x then everyone ends up less leveraged than they asked to be. A regular unleveraged investor could end up risking way less than the 0.5% of their investment per roll that they wanted to risk.

How is it significant in any way?
as soon as you put the investment in the site you accept to see it lost in case of a lucky run.

And by the way, the average leverage beeing closer to 10 than to 5 saying 0.5% of effective bankroll or 2.5% of real one whichever is lower means it's automatically 2.5% of the real bankroll all the time.

1146  Other / Meta / Re: My NY resolution - help members who aren't Dick Heads. on: December 26, 2018, 03:25:38 PM
I propose to add Dick Head as a rank. As opposed to sMerit, we could add dhMerits for spammers and DHs.

Edit: let's all try and make 2019 the year of getting our real crypto forum back (instead of the Merit and Spam forum).

OH YES OH YES

That's actually a freaking good idea!
sMerit is here to point out good posters. And that's a great system.
But how we implemant another kind of merit to point out shitposters? The benefit would be that no one can be basically neutral. You'll have to be on a side: good poster or shitspammer.

Because now a lots of people are shitposting and just... Well not getting merit but that's all. Not that helpful I would say.
1147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling strategy, What do you think? on: December 26, 2018, 03:19:24 PM
It's not a gambling strategy it's a holder strategy.

From previous experiences, it seems that it works quite well yup!
1148  Economy / Speculation / Re: A big advice on how to invest with BTC on: December 26, 2018, 03:14:32 PM
A big advice too, if you want to play on crypto sphere better to get a whole bitcoin first then play it on the market, hodl is an old school.

Hold is an old school?

Now there is a reasonnable chance that bitcoin will reach its previous prices of above 15k at a moment or another especially around the next halving.
It means that just going in now, buying a whole BTC and waiting will grant about 11k$ of profit with rather low risk.

While playing it on a market is so fucking risky... Like a hell of a risk. You can hardly be more risky than by playing on a market, even dice is safer.

This is brand a new, fun, exciting and addictive Bitcoin racing game.

1150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Suggest me some gambling site on: December 26, 2018, 01:47:03 PM
Well well well...

Yolodice is a very good choice because you have a possible combo.
You deposit and you gamble, and if you win you invest in the site! Now as you won it means that the site will win on someone else, hence after you invested profits will go up while you bought a bigger portion of the bankroll! xD
1151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gamble with CatoCoin! on: December 26, 2018, 12:35:15 PM
What's the point?
I am also trying to find the reasons. Why would not I use established coins Bitcoin, ETH, LTC? Why would I use some CatoCoin which I never heard of. I am sure many of the forum member never heard about CatoCoin. Say I made tons of Cato, do I have anyone to buy those Cato from me? I am happy with Bitcoin paid casinos.

Thanks

Don't know... They seem to be more and more numerous to create new shitcoins without any use case...

At least some coins have alternative features! You could have launched an ICO for this coin linking the coins to the bankroll of the site, that would have made it so owning catocoin mean owning a part of the bankroll, hence of the profits. Anyone paying catocoin would have a reason to do so at least... Cause here I don't see. If all you can do is gamble and pay... Well bitcoin already does this Oo

“A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.”
- Milton Friedman

Sure. I mean high degree of freedom creates equality, that's logical. And that's what's happening of course  Roll Eyes
1153  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brexit status on: December 26, 2018, 12:28:23 PM

Trust me, Macron is shitting himself, and if he isn't he is pretty dumb. Just because these people don't want to fight cops doesn't mean they won't string his ass up, and if they chose to the police wouldn't be able to stop them anyway.

Oh ok then I should trust you.
I mean you're clearly more aware than me of what's happening in France and Paris than myself.
What do I know? I'm just living here  Roll Eyes

I know plenty of people who live here who don't know a God damned thing about the internal social dynamics of our nation. There is no reason you could not be ignorant of some aspects of your nation. That is a cute bit of sophistry though.

It's not sophism it's sarcasm. Sarcasm at the fact that your point is "TRUST ME" without anything else to back up what sounds like a stupid opinion, especially for someone living here and actually seeing the movement dying every day. Yeah sure I should just trust you.

Again you chose some words and ignore the others.
And to make it easier you ignore the facts. So let's point it out in such a clear way you won't be able to ignore them even with all your bad faith. Articles are in French of course but you can still read numbers normally.

-Number of participants in the movement is decreasing:
http://www.lefigaro.fr/actualite-france/2018/12/06/01016-20181206ARTFIG00247-gilets-jaunes-le-conflit-en-chiffres.php

-Support from population is only decreasing, even if still higher than 50%:
https://www.challenges.fr/france/sondages-les-francais-soutiennent-toujours-les-gilets-jaunes_630665

-Effects of manifestations (blockades, violences, damages...) are only decreasing:
Very hard to find reliable sources, it's mainly due to the fact that number of people involved in the movement is decreasing

So please do explain while Macron "is shitting himself at the moment" and why he would be "dumb" if he wasnt?
1154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is the best Auto-Bot Dice strategy? on: December 26, 2018, 11:01:19 AM

I generally use some form of Martingale on auto bots, but they eventually tend to lose!

You can replace the word "Martingale" by any word in your mind.

Auto bot can't win, auto bot won't win. Nothing will beat the house edge especially not bots.
Bots means lots of bets and lots of bets mean laws of big numbers apply.
Law big numbers means you lose.

Cheers
1155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Gamble with CatoCoin! on: December 26, 2018, 10:49:57 AM
What's the point?

Obviously this crypto being used only on a gambling community makes it useless as hell.
You can use ANY currency to gamble, why having one dedicated to gambling?
There is no point in it. Gambling is a base use case for any coin.

In my sarcastic stupid imitation of the average Left poster I can answer your question.

Because, shut up!

And this is really an answer worth pondering, because it shows the repression of free ideas and speech that is necessary to the cultish Left. All they need to go total Fascist is a leader in the open with a face to attach the ideas to, but instead they are guided by shadows in the back rooms.

Forward, goose steppers !

Corrected that for you.

Normal left poster would have answered: one fight being important doesn't mean you have to only chose this one. I know it seems incredible to the like of you who regularly explain that it must be "natives first" but you can ACTUALLY solve more than one problem at once.

Yeah I know, it's incredible. Multitasking at its best.

PS. Funny how you try to put "left" as the "we don't accept any other idea than ours being voiced about" when you and your kinds are the first one to use rethoric to get rid of ideas not following your dogma.
1158  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Brexit status on: December 26, 2018, 09:24:33 AM
I recommend against political donations, political volunteering, protests & similar political action, and I don't particularly encourage voting. That's all a waste of time. Instead, people should try to work around / in-spite-of politics. Wherever possible, don't put yourself in positions where you have to ask permission, even on small and/or non-governmental scales. Satoshi's creation of Bitcoin is a perfect example: in just a few years, Satoshi changed the world more than just about any politician, and he didn't have to compromise his principles whatsoever or ask permission from anyone. This is ideal.

Firs time I've ever seen this position stated in a clear and accepted way. Tons of people do feel this way I'd say but most will never admit it especially for themselves.

Still, isn't it just a total acceptance of your fate? Like you accept to submit to a higher power which would be "politics" so probably just "politicians and big corporations"?
That's a bit saying "fair enough I'm a slave in your kingdom but I shall be the happiest salve of all"?

If this:
You also seem to think violence is required for change, which is very telling about you personally.
Isn't ad hominem then we don't have the same definition.

Macron doesn't give a shit and has no reason to do so. Number of persons involved in the movement is decreasing every week, movement support is decreasing every week, violence and damages are decreasing every week... Please tell me how this is an "opinion"? Facts are just pointing out that the movement is dying so why should he care?
