Why is the bottom falling out? I would have thought we would have found a bottom around 18? Are there any plans for something new to simulate this great coin?

Most all coins, except BTC are going down in value.  Lets face it, there are more choices now than a Las Vegas Buffet.

Responding with anger is a tactic used by those with something to hide, because it puts the other person on the defensive and plays to their sense of "can't we just all get along".

So, whenever a person reacts to my questions, presence, or suggestions with anger; I know right away that they are hiding something.

Yes, I find myself agreeing with mega in some things. I do wish an exchange would do some due diligence. Sadly the community is failing this terribly and I agree it encourages more scam coins. I myself would use an exchange with enough volume that did that. But to be clear i also support jpc and I am still mining and holding it Smiley

Steve

How praytell is an exchange to do "due dilligence" and to protect you from "scamcoins".

What criteria is universally accepted that we should do, to make it so you don't have to use your brain, or think, and protect you from your own bad choices?

Which coins do we take and which do we reject, that everyone will look at and say "Yes, they made a good call there"?

Let us know the magic formula. Please.

How to detect a possible cryptocoin scam:

1) If it seems too good to be true

2) If there are no unique features to make the coin standout from the crowd.  AKA "just another Scrypt coin".

3) If the devs have premined more than 1% of the coins (1% for genesis block and bounties okay)

4) If the devs ask for BTC upfront for an IPO or opportunity to premine for day or so. (StackCoin for example)

aka: common sense

Unfortunately, when it comes to money, common sense is rather uncommon.

You can prove to me that this is not a scam by altering the IPO like this:

1) Investors register for the IPO, but do not send in any BTC for escrow.  Only a BTC address needed for this.

2) after the coin launches, the registered investors then have 30 days to send the BTC for escrow and receipt of their coins.

This will:

1)  lock in the investors by pre-registration

2) allow them to exit the IPO if the coin fails.

3) prevent "first day" coin dumps on an exchange

4) place the financial burden of failure on the devs (where it belongs) instead of the IPO investors.

kind of missing all the trolls that were here.....seems like the Dev's shut them up...i'll bet Megaman and Lithoshi both will invest couple of BTC.
well done guys it's just looking better and better !! cant wait till the 7th!ßß

No, I wont invest.  Like I posted earlier, its like watching your neighbor return home from work early while the wife is banging the gardener.  You know what the ending will be, but you cant help watching.
So I guess you should leave this forum, and hurry up back to your wife....

Little announce:

In the end of week we will post new version with bug fixes, some changes.
Fees will be changed, some bugs will be fixed that we got from community.

On next week we will post version with PoS for everybody and new nodes.
Thanks.

Still no answer to my question Cryptsi:

What avatars has CRYPTSI been using on bitcointalk.org forum prior to his NEWBY "Cryptsi" avatar, obviously invented for this coin?

Without full disclosure, you guys are just another Russian Gang out to fleece the world

actually a very good question. Only thing missing is an instant answer by cryptsi.

As i said. My name is Boris Povod. I'm node.js developer from Russia. My odesk account - https://www.odesk.com/o/profiles/users/_~0117967abb1f5d0a53/ .  My ip address: 176.212.92.57. Is enough? You can google another devs and i think you will find something info of they.

But my question was:

What other avatars have you used in this forum?  There have been many many coin scams and disappearing devs in the past year.  Before I invest, I would like to know what other avatars you have used, and what other coins you have launched.

You are trying to dodge the question.  There have been multiple scams through this forum in the past year.  The devs always disappear after the money comes in.  SO it is a legit question, since we know nothing about "CRYPTSI", and it is a new avatar.

The only people that are afraid of the truth, are those that have something to hide

well he can think what he wants, but i still have plenty of JPC. and ive sold enough back before even Bittrex that ive upgraded my gaming PC (new MB and I5) and picked up 4 more 750ti's just off mining alone.... worked out for me  Tongue

He is trying to pump up the price so he can dump his JPC.

Ok i had to make an account just to ask this.. If and we all know its untrue, If it was a 6% premine and that automaticly makes it a "shit coin" why did Aurora do so well up until the airdrop with a 50% premine? just asking... Roll Eyes

but anyways MEGAman are you some kind of prophet sent here to make everyone rich? If it fails, let us fail. If it prospers, miss out.

Because of the PR (press relations).

Tthe dev played to the emotions of the progressives and the greed of the public.  (OOOHHHH  That seems riiight!!!!!)

AURORA went from $40US to 8 cents meanwhile.  There is no real ongoing support.  Then there were a dozen copies, including MAZAcoin, PesetaCoin, H2OCoin, etc; which dampened the enthusiasm of the progressives.

A scam is a scheme that seeks to gain unfair financial advantage (cheat) over another.

For example:

METH (cryptoMeth) was listed on Mintpal 2 weeks ago.  Immediately, millions of coins were dumped on the exchange from one wallet, and now the devs are AWOL.

Yesterday, jackpot Coin was listed on MintPal.  9 BTC of coin was dumped immediately, dropping the proce from 1000 satoshi to 20 satoshi.  The devs are now AWOL as well.  Turns out the devs had premined 6 times as many coins as the 1% they admitted to.

STACKCoin had a premine IPO.  He charged BTC to premine for several days before the launch.  Then he extended the premine another  day for more BTC.  Then extended it again for 12 hours.  At launch time, all went dark.  No dev, No mining, no wallets, no BTC.

So if you think that the devs of this coin are going to stick around after it gets listed on a popular exchange, you are smoking funny tobacco.  They will make lots of BTC in the IPO, and another smaller stash in the dump-after-exchange-listing.

1156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release July | 100% POS | New Source on: July 01, 2014, 02:25:47 PM
What a massive scam. Many lessons will be learned with this one, I hope.

No pain, no gain.

Huge profit need huge risk.

 Cheesy

First of all, the only people that stand to gain "huge profit" are the devs. I can't stop people from being idiots but remember this post when you lose your ass and the devs vanish with your money in a month. Why is there potential for "huge profits" here compared to any other piece of crap scam? Anybody who buys into this IPO is scary-stupid. Oh well. I tried. I've never been wrong about this before but I guess that doesn't count for much when it comes to greedy dipshits.

Maybe you are damned right.  The devs will have the hugest profit. But there are a lot of "investors" who won't miss any IPO. They dreamed they can be millionaire in one night.
I got scammed 0.5btc by stackcoins, but I got more profit from other successful IPO.
But I also knew a guy who had been scammed for 19 times. Poor guy.
Anyway, you should judge the risk by yourself as that's your money.

Even IF the devs have good intentions.............. well, just remember this song:

MONEY CHANGES EVERYTHING

I read this thread because it is as entertaining as:

1) throwing a sharp knife into a cage of monkeys

2) watching your neighbor's 8 year old child get into their car and start driving it

3) watching small animals cross the busy freeway

4) watching bears catching salmon in the river

5) seeing your neighbors husband return home early while his wife is banging the gardener

The MintPal dump did not wait long before starting.  Someone put 2million JPC up for sale for 27satoshi, 2 million for 29, 2 million for 31, another 2 million for 33 sats

It took 2 days before they added METH last month

I wasn't around to see this at the time so...

You're saying that Meth won the vote on a Monday and then they (for some reason) didn't add it until 2 days later?  Shocked

Yes
1160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Crypti | Release June | 100% POS | New Source on: June 30, 2014, 09:46:48 PM
They want to jump in right away because they think they will be millionaires, like a the lucky IPO buyers on NXT did.  Unfortunately, that was a one time thing, and is unlikely to ever be repeated.

Scams always target the greedy.  If in doubt, watch the "3 card Monty" guys on Times Square.
