Djokovic was able to get out of the pressure again, but big applause for Cerundolo who put up tough resistance because previously I thought this would be easy for Djokovic, especially in the first set, it looked like there was no resistance that Cerundolo could provide, but Cerundolo's game improved in the second and third sets and the fourth set was like a certainty he will be in the quarter-finals, especially since Djokovic also received treatment twice in the second set due to a knee injury, but again experience taught Djokovic many things to be able to handle pressure. Tomorrow Djokovic will face Ruud, this could be revenge for Ruud who lost in last year's final, especially since he performed very well in the clay season and managed to beat Djokovic in Monte Carlo, and it looks like this is the first time Djokovic is not the favorite even though the odds are not much different from Ruud.

Ah it was unbelievable both in Cerundolo's performance and blunder in the 4th set and Djokovic's
acting and gamesmanship prowess . . . again.

Cerundolo's performance was very good against Djokovic who was "Injured" but the fourth set
was a disaster for him, I believe he lost concentration and possibly nerves when he was serving
to go 5-3 ahead and put himself in position to serve at least for the match but with the distraction
at the other end of the court he lost concentration and got ahead of himself. .  .

but Djokovic broke him and it went 4-4, for me that was the turning point, the odds went to 1.9
v 1.9 at the end of the 4th set!

I dont think I would applaud Djokovic for this win, he was so aggressive towards his box, was giving
out to the umpire about the condition of the court, ended up getting injured and calling the trainer
on after the 3rd set. Every time he made a mistake his "injury" was the visible cause although the
next point he was chasing every ball no problem, especially when he won the point. It was ridiculous.
122  Economy / Speculation / Re: The attractiveness of Bitcoin among my friends on: June 03, 2024, 09:51:48 PM
I have tried my friends a few years ago with no luck at all, my friends were very skeptical.

Because the price per Bitcoin has risen massively since then I am more reserved about
putting my interest in Bitcoin out in the public, now I am of the mindset that the less people
know about my finances the better.

Bitcoin adoption will take care of itself with my handful of friends.
123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet against the club you support? on: June 03, 2024, 09:14:37 PM
Why not? Although we are fans of a specific football club, basketball club, tennis player, or any others but when it comes to betting then we should put it aside.
Without a doubt, we will always want to see our favorite team/player win the game and if we bet on them then we will be get extra fun.
But betting on players or team that we like because we are fans but and we ignore the odds, it can be said as dumb bettor.

Why not indeed, I have bet against my club many times but mostly as part of a parlay
where the other team has low odds and my team are nust not going to win, I bet on Rugby.

If my team are slight underdogs I wont bet against them though, I wouldnt be able to
watch the match, I would want them to win but for my bet against them I would want to
make money!

Its a tricky question but it really depends on the circumstances.
124  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for June on: June 03, 2024, 06:07:18 PM

And it just popped over $70k in the last few hours and its back to $69k.

For a June, to pass $75k and break out from there has to be on the cards for this
month. I'm sure there is growing demand and growing buy pressure at this stage after
all the expectations of both the ETF approvals and the Halving so these if they
manifest will surely drive the market upwards.
125  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Banks are used for criminals, will governments ban banks? on: June 03, 2024, 09:24:58 AM
Why governments don't ban banks even banks are used for criminals?
It's because the entire bank has a huge contribution to the economy of a country and that's why governments don't ban them. They ban if the bank accounts are used for illegal purposes, they ban the owner of that account, and also file some cases related to money laundering or any case that they can file to that person. There's a deep connection of bank institutions and the government and they're working together, remember that there are also central banks for each country and that's why, they can't just ban the banks because it also helps to circulate money in the country.

Well if governments banned banks they would have to back or create some other form
of financial institution in order to conduct their business, like paying for public sector
services like Police, healthcare workers, emergency workers, infrastructure maintenance,
Housing development etc.

Its too easy to say governments should ban banks but its actually not that easy.

Please dont suggest Bitcoin, they will want something that they can control in the form of FIAT.

Jannik Sinner won against Corentin Moutet in 4 sets.
...

After the first set, the odds for Sinner as final winner "explode" to @1.40 from the initial value of @1.02
Crazy value both odds.
Yes the first set was pretty a nightmare for the Italian, but probably Moutet has done his "show" too early.
The other sets were just Sinner winning any point...  6-3 6-2 6-1 a match were Moutet was only able to defend and nothing more...

When I checked the odds after the first set Sinner was 1.35

It was Sinners first time playing Moutet and the first time playing his unorthodox style
of playing but he managed to get to understand it already at the end of the first set then
Sinner was able to win the following 3 sets. Thats the beauty of best if 5 sets, no
need to panic if you lose the first.

It was a good match, I watched it all and never feared for Sinner, I knew he would be able
to pull through.

He now has a finals replay from Rotterdam against Dimitrov, he should win that also.
128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours / Olympics on: June 02, 2024, 08:05:36 PM
Mark this weekend in your calendar - zero from five. I'm pretty sure that's the worst result I've had since this thread started.

Amongst the statistics I've heard over this weekend was that the team who scored first this weekend then went on to lose the match. A few of the New South Wales cup games were cancelled due to the inclement weather stretching into Southern Queensland. (The Dolphins game was played in Redcliffe and it was definitely raining overnight).

Ah this years NRL IMO is more unpredictable than last year.

Panthers losing to the Dragons - a few people made $'s from that. Ok I know its a
funny week with the State of Origin and maybe if it was a top 4 team they were playing
they would play a different squad??

URC

After this weekends matches the final 8 have been decided and Benetton have
made it into the finals in 7th spot, I think its the first time an Italian side has done that.

Teams for the Quarter Finals are:

Munster v Ospreys
Bulls v Benetton
Leinster v Ulster
Warriors v Stormers

129  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Always Be in an Uptrend? on: June 02, 2024, 01:59:33 PM
Since the launch of a bitcoin exchange-traded fund earlier this year, bitcoin has recovered and even surpassed its all-time highs set during the 2021 bull run. But for weeks, it looked like the largest cryptocurrency was trading sideways at best.

Its all a matter of perspective!

If you bought Bitcoin prior to 2016 and HODL'd it to today there is nothing to complain
about but if you bought Bitcoin in the last number of weeks I can understand the frustration.

But something to realise and remember if you are not trading then you will have to
HODL for at least the "medium term".

Quote
Will Bitcoin Always Be in an Uptrend?

again perspective

Yes - over time, medium to long term
No - short to medium term

The uptrends and downtrends are visualised below

130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin been backed by Dollar then what will happen if the Dollar collapsed? on: June 02, 2024, 01:29:38 PM
I genuinely  think about this question twice a week.

Satoshi Nakamoto (Who ever he really is) simply made Bitcoin to give a chance to geniuses like him to be rich
remember that Satoshi was a math genius, he solved equations thought  to be impossible it the time being.

So are you referring to Satoshi's wealth in terms of the amount of Bitcoin which is
in the wallets known to be his*, the ones to this day still remain untouched? because
until they are liquidated into FIAT they are still just a digital asset

The gift he gave us was:

Quote
A purely Peer-to-Peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be
sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution

It has nothing to do with getting rich, it has just turned into a speculative asset by some
people. There is nothing to stop anyone from using it, rich or poor

Its obvious that wealthy people have the finances to jump into Bitcoin and grow their
wealth, the same goes for people with lesser means, they have the same opportunity
but on a smaller scale.
131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Salmer Scientific Inc. Adopts bitcoin As it's Primary Treasury Reserve on: June 02, 2024, 09:02:32 AM
what I'm saying in essence is that we should keep buying, holding and never to sell as the night is still very young.
I don't know how good an advice it is to tell people never to sell or spend their coins, BTC is a currency, so it should be normal for people to spend it on things they can buy with it. There would also come a time when people would want to liquidate their coins to fiat for certain reasons, what i'd recommend is to not liquidate all your BTC's to fiat, except if you must.
According to Mr. Eric Salmer he believes in bitcoin for two major reasons which includes it's unique characteristics as a scarce and finite asset that can serve as a reasonable inflation hedge and safe haven amid global instability and it's architectural resilience makes it preferable to gold.

Yea its easy to say buy Bitcoin and never sell but everyone has different expectations
and goals and life throws various unforseen circumstances at us every
so often which requires money.

what I'm saying in essence is that we should keep buying, holding and never to sell as the night is still very young.

BTC can be called a safe haven asset over the long term, but it is very volatile and unpredictable in the short term. I think gold is a proven safe haven asset considering how long it has existed, and people have successfully used it for that purpose for a long time now, and i believe it tops BTC for this very purpose.

Definitely over the long term Bitcoin is a safe haven asset, short term - not so much.
I guess these guys at Salmer are definitely in Bitcoin now for the long term.

Since the ETF approver bitcoin has witnessed alot of adoptions by big institutions and this has kept me pondering to myself that I'm being so lazy to have a good quality of bitcoin. perhaps if this big institutions are still buying big quantities of bitcoins why then you a small quantity holder sell? if this big institutions grap your quota of bitcoin are you sure you would be getting them back?.

what I'm saying in essence is that we should keep buying, holding and never to sell as the night is still very young.

I think the ETF approvals recently have given people verification that Bitcoin is
a valid asset. I wonder also if Michael Saylor laid the foundations for companies
like this to get into Bitcoin?
132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 02, 2024, 07:35:49 AM
Interesting events going on French Open today. World number one and the defending champion Novak Djokovich is struggling against Number 30 Lorenzo Musetti. They both have 1 set each and Musetti is looking to win the third. This could be either a surprise defeat for Novak Djokovich or a long match.
On another match today, Casper Ruud reached the third round defeating Tomas Martin Etcheverry in a 4 set contest. No 6 Andrey Rublev was defeated by No 35 Matteo Arnaldi while Daniil Medvedev is into the third round. Jannik Sinner had a straight set win against P Kotov to reach the round of 16.
After watching today many of the higher ranking players were struggling in their matches.
Zverev dropped his first set and took it in five sets, so an early scare for the number 4.
Cerundolo taking out Paul who is number 14 out of the tournament.

Djokovic is just finishing his fourth set so it is even at two all. But it didn't look so good an hour ago and his odds were very high for the top player in the ATP tour.
Many were saying on the sportschat that I was on that Novak was dead and it was over.
But being the number 1 in the world he has been here many times, so knows how to comeback from the dead as he has several times before.

I think possibly the 5 set matches suit him more now, we have seen on numerous
occasions that he can drop the first 2 sets and still win the match. But things are different
now, more of the top 10 players can beat him.

And Zverev OMG I really thought he was a gonner, Griekspoor did well but didnt
have the experience to finish it in the 5th set perhaps.

Djokovic made another legendary comeback. I saw this match by chance after watching the CL final game and I couldn't believe it was live at this hour. Musetti played well but experience spoke for itself. The GOAT Djokovic is here to win another Grand Slam. He spent a lot of energy today but if he regenerates well he will go all the way. I don't think he will have such a hard time to beat Cerúndolo. Alcaraz and Sinner will be the most difficult opponents for him, if he doesn't face them, his chances will be even better.

I think there are a few players who will be in his way TBH, on his side of the draw
its Ruud, Zverev and Medvedev, on the other its Sinner, Alcaraz.
133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being a Bitcoiner Boosts Financial Literacy and Personal Growth on: June 01, 2024, 05:02:50 PM
Well I can confirm that I am more financially literate because of two moves I made
in the past....

1.) Becoming a Bitcoiner and
2.) Joining the forum

I would also like to add that I wouldnt be the most literate financially but I know more now
that I did before particularly about inflation, quantitative easing and the benefits Bitcoin
offer about being your own bank.

Also listening to Michael Saylor has been a revelation for me in the past.
134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 01, 2024, 02:17:07 PM

Wow, would have been very nice winnings.

Corentin I think is one of those players who performs best at home on French soil...and
with the rowdy French fans. I think the organisers have banned alcohol for the tournament
on the stands.

Two interesting matches on ATM, Machac v Medvedev, I think Machac has a real chance
here even after losing the first set tie break.

Zverev v Griekspoor, Zverev looks subdued and Griekspoor has taken the first set, really
difficult to know how this goes, a possible over 41.5 on here @ 1.85

136  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Join Bitcoin Forum COLLECTIBLES EXCLUSIVE ARTWORK PROJECT with Crypto Artist 1Dq on: June 01, 2024, 09:39:50 AM

I tried four types of paper, from thin glossy to thicker textured.
I like the textured one best, which is no surprise as it looks the closest to the original.

Which do you like best?

The thicker one might presents a problem of shipping, as I wanted to use a cylinder shaped cardboard sleeve, but at that size I need to roll it really tight and it starts deforming.
So far, I haven't found a company that produces a thicker one of the same length, because using longer would significantly higher the shipping cost.

The other option is to send unrolled prints sandwiched between solid cardboard sheets and placed in bubble wrapped envelopes.

What are your experiences with print delivery, would this option be ok? I always thought that the cylinder one is more sturdy for sending over large distances and handling by multiple personnel.

Besides that I'll also need to tweak the hues a little bit to get it closer to the original and make another print run with selected paper.

I intend on numbering them in the bottom left, next to my signature.

And then finally - the auction!

The prints look great, nice colour and clarity!

Regarding shipping, I can give some info regarding my experience with the colouring
book project I did.

I wanted the paper to be really good quality and a heavyweight stock, this meant
the cover had to be thicker also. The result in this made the packaged unit heavier than
I anticipated so the postage price was also more than I anticipated.

There is no point going to the trouble of producing a lovely art piece and then risking it
being damaged in the post.

I also did a poster project and most people opted for a rolled copy. It depends on what
size tube you use to roll the prints, a wide tube obviously will deform the prints least.

Ok so whats up with this magazine? does anyone own one and what is the article on
world currency about? I guess its about digital currencies which was a bit groundbreaking
thinking back in 1988.

Can someone tell me why this is a Bitcoin or Crypto collectible?

Here is a link to an excerpt from the magazine for your review...  Sure sounds like Bitcoin!

https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/flashback-1988-get-ready-world-currency-2018-magazine-pharms-phd/

Thank you markinaz, to me the excerpt reads at times like the "Euro" than a decentralised,
open source global unit of exchange.

This is listed for ... $25,000 - is this just a speculative price? surely nobody is going

139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Are People Not Interested To Listen To Success Stories Of Bitcoin Investors? on: May 31, 2024, 07:08:20 PM

1) My question now is this, does it mean people no longer profit in Bitcoin investment but yet there are informations about the increasing number of Bitcoin investors?

There are of course people who are in profit from Bitcoin investment. Some "on paper"
as in they have not sold Bitcoin. Others are after HODL'ing Bitcoin for a number of years
and who have sold recently.

The amount of Bitcoin investors is growing because Bitcoin is an obvious must
have top performing asset....which will yield profits in time.

2)  Why are people not bold enough to use fake social media accounts to talk about their success stories after making profits in Bitcoin investments since they want to maintain privacy?

Maintain privacy also ties into the principal of not seeing the need to publicise your
profits. If I want to go to the hassle of shouting about my wealth through a fake account
I could easily falsify it by X50.

3) Why does it take my family members who abused me when I encountered a loss in my investment to listen to my success story even when they have seen enough evidence?

Maybe they expect you will make a loss again

4) Why do people find it difficult to announce here when they recover from their losses but they come out to cry when they have a little loss?.

Maybe those people dont recover their losses
140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: May 31, 2024, 09:07:24 AM
Rune was able to win the tie break in final set even with Cobolli in great shape and with a nice advantage.
Odds were in favour of Rune, @1.45, for sure he made a lot of effort to reach the win.

Probably in a match like this, the better experience of the Danish player was the sparkle for the victory.
Cobolli played very well but wasn't able to close out at the decisive moment.

Ah it was so close for Cobolli, he's been playing great tennis lately while Rune hasnt
been in top form at all.

Musetti did well to beat Monfils in straight sets but books a date with Djokovic
tomorrow as a reward!

Keeping this an all Italian post 😁 Sinner is back in action and faces Kotov, there shouldnt
be any worries for Jannik today.
