So Otillio1330 lost his bitcoin payment because GOOGLE served him an ad to a crypto scammer site???
I tested it, it's privnote.co that is mangling the addresses, another scam site.
Wow. Seems like there could be recourse for a small-claims case against Google, to me. Doesn't that make them accessory to the scam???
I would say that would be a long, tedious drawn out endeavour. I have seen this happen before and even brought it to the communities attention here, Google was serving a promoted advert for a fake Trezor web address. I wonder how many people got burned with that one? Just goes to show Google do not have the proper checks in place to protect us from these scams. very worrying.

The match is over, and to my surprise, the match was lost by Stefanos Tsitsipas. It was a three-set match and honestly, I have to say the match was dominated by Hanfmann when we look at the first and the third set. Stefanos Tsitsipas played well in the second set. I thought in the third set it was going to be competitive. But Hanfmann took the win quite easily in the end. It was actually a little surprising result for me.
This was an important victory for Hanfmann. When you win against the winner from last year in round 2 it gives you a lot of confidence. Now he will play against Lopez from Spain in the quarter-final. He is ranked 634 in the ATP list and won against the Australian Thompsen (ATP 71). I have not seen any odds yet for the quarter-final. But I think Hanfmann is the favourite in this match. Mostly when a big win happens like this for lower ranked players they lose a match in the next two rounds. He will be playing against Lopez that is really old but has too much experience on grass and his serve is really good so i think he might win this match against Hanfmann. Well he has moved through the quarter final by beating Lopez and is now facing Mannarino the 4th seed in the semi final. Going back to his win against Tsitsipas, that was massive. Tsitsipas was by far the highest ranked player there. It also asks questions of Tsitsipas, where is he going? personally I think he needs a new coaching team, he needs to ditch the family input big time. Back to the semi finals in Mallorca, Eubanks v Harris could be a close one, similarly talented players there and the only seeded player left is Mannarino, I think they are all of similar talent really, anything can happen.

And I was actually considering betting over 45.5 points but went the other way and bet under 47.5.
Yes Sharks are definitely flying outside the radar.
So moving swiftly on to tomorrows/tonights games...
Couple of games coming up tomorrow which could be more realistic "under" bets
Warriors v Rabbitohs Storm v Panthers - this one particularly should be a close one but it could easily go the other way with one team totally out scoring the other. Interestingly - Storm are slight favourites, maybe a more conservative bet on Storm will be better than under/over bets.
|
|
|
Well the Rabbitohs have a tougher draw this weekend, tomorrow when they play the Warriors.
On the grand final, yea probably the Panthers, Broncos or Storm or two of the three?
I have been complaining on and off about this season purely because my bets are getting destroyed by the outcomes of the games but realistically its more exciting and its what any neutral would like to see rather than a one horse race.
First game of the weekend starts today, shortly its Sharks v Dragons and Sharks are big favourites @ 1.08

I think with everyone’s reliance on social media and lack of using things like cryptography to ensure their identities, AI will be able to overwhelm platforms with misinformation, scam attempts, and impersonations to the point that people won’t be able to trust anything or anyone they see online. Events could be faked, relationships, even history could be altered at a scale where humans are powerless to fight all the disinformation. I honestly don’t think we have a chance against it, but this is a problem for the next generation.
and thats the thing, for the next generation it may be too late, they could be cursing us that we didnt do more at the early stages to stop it. ATM there are techies and scientists who are enthusiastic, excited and only too happy to continue development of AI because big business is driving the demand for it in order to increase their profits and we 'generally' continue to engage with it thinking its "cool" and "exciting".

There is a 5th group of people who the OP has totally forgotten, thats "Bitcoiners" ! those of us who dont fit into the 4 categories provided. I am a Bitcoiner, not a noob, developer, node runner or miner and I believe I am part of the biggest group, regular Bitcoiners who are generally bullish especially at this current time approaching the halving.
So from the 4 groups listed in the poll I cannot cast my vote because collectively and generally speaking we are all bullish.

Anyone know if Bublik is playing this week? I couldnt see any tournaments with a quick search.
There is another one in Mallorca but only Tsitsi there worth mentioning. Top players aren't playing in week before Wimbledon unless they need matches like Tsitsi. Oh right, its funny how they are all bar a few taking this week out together and not competing. Tsitsipas at Mallorca should go well although just looking at who is left playing: Harris, Mannarino, Eubanks and Shelton. Tsitsipas plays Hanfmann today in the R16. I dont think I will bet on Tsitsipas even though he is the highest ranked player???

As a financial advisor my first recommendation is not to not take advice from those whom aren’t themselves licensed financial advisors. I’m not saying there aren’t people out there, or even in this thread that don’t have good advice to give, but you just don’t know if they actually know what they are talking about and so that’s a scary proposition to trust just anyone.
I often hear from my clients “my coworker said I should do this” and I can tell you that 99% of the time that advice given is awful and incorrect.
No one here can give you a truly good answer unless we knew your entire financial situation. Without knowing that, giving advice would come from an incomplete space.
I often offer to help people on here (for free), so if you’d like some help, feel free to DM me.
Cheers
Thats very generous of you ChiBitCTy, I hope the OP takes up your offer. Your advice makes sense. The only thing I can offer and its something others touched upon is that holding onto FIAT is not beneficial in the long term and especially in this current inflationary times. If one of the OP's assets is Bitcoin - thats the one you dont want to liquidate. Liquidate the FIAT to save your Bitcoin.

Anyone know if Bublik is playing this week? I couldnt see any tournaments with a quick search.
Also I only realised just now while searching the above, Alcaraz is back in #1 position on the ATP rankings again after his win at Queens, just 80 points separate himself and Djokovic!
Over at Eastbourne in the UK its R32 today and there arent too many big names playing, Fritz and Paul seeded 1 and 2, there must be another tournament on somewhere?

Will the price pass 100k$ next year 2024 for buys to make their gain?
As far as I'm aware of, one cannot lose their bitcoin investment as long as they do not sell it a lower price. We all know bitcoin's price has been increasing each and every year passed. We've seen it at $1k and a couple of years later it jumped to almost $20k, then a couple more years later it jumped to $60k. So, if you do the math, there is a good possibility that bitcoin may surpass that level in 2024 especially that we are approaching for another bitcoin halving which was known to be a bullish even in crypto space. Again, no one is gonna lose as long as they are not selling at a lower price. New investors must learn how to be patient and make more research about bitcoin and it's historical run. It is also advised to invest what they can afford to lose as we never know when will bitcoin pumps again - so during the bear season you can consider your bitcoin holdings as partially loss until it recovers again. A total loss is when you sell it a lower price. Correct 1 Bitcoin will always be 1 Bitcoin regardless of the FIAT value the markets trade at. When you buy Bitcoin hen the price is 100k$ then how much will you sell it back to make profit because at that time the price of Bitcoin might not exceed 100k$ and if the price didn't not exceed that amount you will become a loser in the business so how does the vendors do at that time?
This is a short term outlook. Not everyone buying at €100k will want to make short term profits, there will be those who will have a long term outlook. $100k will not be the ceiling, just the same as $10, $100, $1000 or $10,000 were not ceilings, Bitcoin broke those and left them far behind in history. I'm sure a lot of early Bitcoiners could never fathom Bitcoin reaching $10,000 and staying above it. $100,000 will come and go too.

this is old news it was talked about a few days ago with a similar thing.. whereby coins that were generated in 2009. were spent into exchanges like mtgox and the stash in mtgox from 2013 is now moving due to the bankruptcy administration..
whales are people holding 100k plus. like M.saylor, or other entities that OWN their stash..
this however is not a whale, but a shark.. and also its a mtgox stash. thus not an individual owner but a small part of mtgox total hoard stuck in bankruptcy administration
this event is not a sell-off. its just a re-organisation of the mtgox stash ready to pass out to creditors in the future (moving from cold to hot wallets so to speak)
There we go, I didnt bother reading replies after this post. Its amazing how this sort of news gets a lot of attention and how it can affect the markets because of FUD. Some people who get affected by big movements of Bitcoin cant see that it only affects the markets on the short term. The sooner the mtgox stash gets divvied out the better, it will put an end to some peoples nervousness. . .

Unbelievable win by Bublik, really strong performance and was able to serve for that win even after 2 double faults had the mental strength to close it out. ...
as far as I could see, I think he's a really strong player even physically (he's 1.90 meters tall). But very often I have seen in his matches a total sense of "surrendering" when the result was not in favor. Probably now he has matured and understood his real abilities. I read articles declaring proudly that he "will be dangerous at Wimbledon" I don't know, I have many doubts about it, I don't think he can get beyond the quarter-finals ... He is a tall player and has a lot of talent. He has been a very unpredictable player and I for one have never given him a chance thats why I was surprised he got so far the the tournament. as for Wimbledon - lets see, lets see how he copes with the 5 set matches and if he can carry his performance into that.
Changing the coaching team and became a father might give him a breath of fresh air to perform better, and actually he's a pretty good player, especially for his serve which can be said to be more solid than Zverev in this tournament, and his serve gave a lot of points for him to finally secure the title champion here. His serve is a massive weapon, he has the height as an advantage.

I'm really surprised to see Bublik reach the final over at Halle, I'm surprised with the odds for Rublev, I thought he would be more favoured to win this. At 1.65 it hard to pass up on this opportunity.
de Minaur did really well against Rune, I'm happy for him but as you say Alcaraz is rightly the favourite he looks very strong on grass so far.
I'll be betting on Rublev and Alcaraz but seperately, not a combo bet.
Yes, the surprises continued and finally he was able to become the champion in this tournament, and throughout his journey here it was relatively only when he beat Struff and in the final against Rublev he got quite a tight resistance, Zverev in the semifinals was even difficult to break this player's serve, and this became Bublik's second ATP title, and extraordinary achievement for a player like him because he also often appears inconsistent and this is the first ATP 500 title. And Alcaraz at ATP Queen's was very solid, even though he looked nervous on his last serve to kill the match but he was able to control the situation quickly and only two sets, so that proved he was experiencing rapid growth Unbelievable win by Bublik, really strong performance and was able to serve for that win even after 2 double faults had the mental strength to close it out. I think I can speak for many when I say I didnt realise he had changed coaching team and that he recently became a father, In my mind those two factors will change anyones outlook and it seems it could have been a big factor in his. Is this a new Bublik? will he finally show us his true capabilities, we will soon find out. So only one of my bets worked out yesterday, Alcaraz was very strong to win Queens.
