Grass season is revving up: Stuttgart ATP

-snip-

Kyrgios v Wu

Every match with Nick Kyrgios is a great tennis show. He doesn't play very regularly so it's a nice possibility to watch him play, getting ready for the grass season and Wimbledon. It looks like an easy match for the Aussie though.

Yes Kyrgios is a great tennis player, massive talent but I feel his best years are over at this
stage and the fact that he doesnt play a full season and is really only playing grass courts
means he isnt match fit by the time the season starts, he lost today to Wu 5-7, 3-6.

Kyrgios is unfortunately struggling with his mental problems. If he had fought his demons earlier, he would certainly be at a higher level. But we also have to consider that he had not played a match yet this year. The last time was at the end of 2022 and he also missed the French Open because he injured his foot.

He just dosent care. He isnt even fit for playing tennis at the moment. I watched the match he mostly just served good on it and hot tired from just that. You need to train and gain some strength to play tennis . He just plays like he is an amature and once he losses the first set he dosent even care for the match anymore.

Thats it, he just doesnt care, I wonder why he even bothers and I wonder why he can get
sponsorship at this stage?

He had a good year last year winning a tournament in washington but I think he played more
last year and even reached the semi final stage last year at Stuttgart.

All the seeds at Stttgart won today, Tiafoe, Hurkacz and Musetti and 3 more play tomorrow,
Paul, Fritz seeded 2 and Tsitsipas seeded 1.

I dont know whether to bet on both Paul and Fritz, Paul isnt IMO having a brilliant season this
year, he played a challenger tournament and got beaten by Murray in the final.

Interesting....
I have been down sizing for the last 3 months although I havent been selling any of my
crypto stuff, which isn't very exotic anyway and dont take up too much space but I think
they will have to go soon because with the best intensions of having a display like yourself
its not going to happen especially moving to a smaller house.

So far out of the house we have gotten rid of about 10 car boot loads of stuff from the
house and garage to Charity, recycling or dump but still have way too much stuff
for the smaller house we are moving to.

The 2 classic motorbike projects are going to be a problem too!

I think sometimes you have to let stuff go at a loss in order to down size or de-clutter

On Thursday Tsitsipas is scheduled to play Gasquet, looking at the stats on results on court
surfaces, Gasquet seems to have a better win/loss ratio on Grass, I wonder is a bet on Gasquet
worth the 3.95 odds he has?

Imagine everyone was the same, life would be extremely boring. Its good and important
to have such a diverse type of personalities. But of course there are always extremes....

like people who do good and selfless things for humanity in general, Satoshi creating
Bitcoin for us!

Its important for us to be understanding of other peoples tolerance, temperament and personalities,
unfortunately not everyone can do it or are willing to do it which can lead to hate and racism.

Well done to the OP, a lot of work went into the videos thats for sure and I'm sure
someone will get benefit from that work.

But there have been countless Satoshi threads created through the years and they
have one thing in common, not having any definitive evidence to the identity of
Satoshi.

Satoshi gave us two things:
1. Bitcoin
2. A masterclass in becoming and remaining anonymous

As time passes finding the identity of Satoshi becomes less and less important/relevant.

Waow - those slippery Eels - at this stage I wouldnt be surprised if the made the
grand final. . . again! In the space of a couple of rounds they are almost in the top
8, they might just replace the Sea Eagles when they play this coming round - interesting!

Its a bit sad to see the Dolphins slipping down the ladder, their season was looking
very promising early on but that really was due to the lack of performance from some
of the top teams.

The team of the season so far has to be the Broncos!

How the hell did Satoshi design Bitcoin without AI?Huh?? seems "impossible" for

As you can see I am not a fan of AI, I think it will definitely reduce the need to employ

not enhance our lives.

The one area which could benefit us is in medicine.

what a victory for Djokovic.
simply devastating and able to write pages of unique history in this sport... I am sorry for Alcaraz (I hope he will solve this issue related health condition) but for sure he has a top place already guaranteed really hard to loss.

This was a great performance from Novak Djokovic. In the first set, it was really close. I also thought that the match was going to be very close considering that the first set was so close between these two. But in the next two sets, Novak, Djokovic performed really well, and his opponent did not get much of a chance to do anything. Novak Djokovic was better in this game by far. Ruud had a good performance in the first set. But after that in the second set, he wasn’t able to do anything. In the third set, she did show a little bit off, but that did not win in favor of him.

Yea that result was kind of expected, my $1 bet on Ruud was a waste really, Djokovic got
the job done in 3 sets and yea Ruud was able to trouble him a bit in the first and third sets
but not enough to overcome him. That seems like an easy day in the office for Djokovic, it
could have been a 5 setter but he made sure it wasnt going to go that far.

So thats #23 grand slams and I dont think anyone is going to catch him!

Does anyone know if there is a chance that the USA government will ban crypto or not allow any exchanges to sell bitcoin?

Personally and for all pure Bitcoiners, it doesnt matter what the US government do
in relation to cryptos/securities/altcoins because Bitcoin is the most important, it is
truly decentralised. Each altcoin can be manipulated by a handful of people and as
Lucius posted earlier in this thread, many people have been warning of the dangers
of investing in altcoins for a long time and the fact that a lot have been decimated because
of the recent SEC news just proves the volatility of them.

..... is it now the right time to buy a few coins?

Absolutely, now is the right time to buy some Bitcoins
1132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 11, 2023, 08:32:49 AM
I agree with both of you that Swiatek will be the champion today, just hope Muchova doesn't let that happen easily, the final match should provide an interesting spectacle for tennis lovers. Muchova is not one of the players who is calculated to be able to perform optimally to finally reach the final and before defeating other favorites who were previously even predicted to be Swiatek's only strong challenger, so what she has achieved should not be let go so easily because Swiatek had faced difficulties when she faced Haddad Maia, so everyplayers have a chance to give a tight game today.
Bet on over 18.5 and hope Muchova is solid in her service game even though it doesn't have to go to 3 sets but at least there isn't a 6-0 score which is very unpleasant to watch in the final match.

Well currently its just one sided and Swiatek leads 5-2 in the first set and looks like she will take the set and the title pretty much without any hard work. For over 18.5 Muchova will need to work more and get some games but still its realistic that over comes in the second set.
Swiatek won the first set 6-2. In the second set Muchova had an opportunity to win, she missed it and then made a comeback and won the set 7-5. Now the match have moved to the third set, this is interesting. After Stuttgart Open title win Swiatek lost Madrid Open final and lost Italian Open quarter finals match. Once again she had reached the finals and it favours her amidst the hard competence from Muchova.

Watched the entire match and it was just amazing. The first set Swiatek dominated as usual but Muchova woke up and won the second set and was playing really good in third set,but the quality of Swiatek is just high and she won yet another French Open and continues to hold the no1 position.

Also watched it and I must admit it was one of the best WTA finals this year (if not the best). Muchova resisted surprisingly well and there even was a chance for her to win the title. Swiatek lost focus completely in 2nd and 3rd sets and was broken several times. Unfortunately for Muchova, she started losing her serve games too. It was very similar to the semifinal vs Sabalenka but Muchova was in Sabalenka's shoes now. She couldn't keep several surely winning shots in and ended the match with a double fault.

P.S. Ruud vs Djokovic tomorrow guys! I will be betting on Djoko.

Yes it was great, I have to say Swiatek has the mark of a true champion when it
comes to Grand Slams, she was able to find an extra gear to overcome the onslaught
of Muchova. Normally I wait to do a bet on the favourite when they go behind or
are under pressure but I didnt have the courage to go with Swiatek.

4.40 on Ruud today? Am I blind or what?

Sure, Đoković has got huge experience and yes - he did play really well even while Alcaraz was fully fit.
Still - Ruud really does have powerful shots that can break Đoković's defense and these odds seem pretty unrealistic to me.

Shame I lost it all on City handicap win yesterday, I'd be all over this. I still probably will - although my monthly gambling allowance has already been depleted Grin

Definitely with those odds he is worth a $1 wager at 4.5

But, Its Grand Slam Final day and Djokovic will be on another level especially for
his #23 GS win, I hope Ruud has learned a lot from his last final defeat!

Wonderful news!

Are you going to come to Australia for the Rugby World Cup? We should see if we can entice @Welsh to come over as well. That would definitely make us an international cheer squad.

I would love to go! I have a friend in Melbourne who I went to college with many moons ago
and we are still in contact so I could tie that into the trip for 2027... That would be a rugby/
Bitcoin meetup!

I was beginning to think nothing would go my way this week (in more ways than one) then the Broncos and Panthers came through with wins tonight. I'll have to have a look at the replays tomorrow.

The first game the bunnies staged a late comeback scoring back to back tries in the dieing minutes but were unable to equalise the score going down 36 - 30 against the Dragons.

Well not much has been going right for my bets in the NRL this season so far, there
have been a lot of really surprising results which I assume have killed a lot of bets.

I thought I had placed a bet on the Dolphins - I'll check during the day.  I've just got up - Time for coffee first.  (Shame about my parlay tanking on the first game)

*edit*

Not looking good for the Dolphins with the score being 28 - 6 against at half time.

*edit again*

The Sea Eagles won 58 -18 at full time (good thing I'd already gone to bed I think - that would have been a horror to watch)  I haven't been able to pick a winner all week it would seem.

Well I'm happy my bet on the Sea Eagles materialised along with the bet on the Broncos
because the Dragons toasted the Rabbitohs, that was not supposed to happen, Rabbitohs
were in 2nd spot, Dragons in last Huh

Broncos back into that 2nd place behind the Panthers. I wonder what their odds are to win
the premiership?

Here comes....... the argentinian guy, yes i remember you told me , to advice you before the games, but i dont really follow so much this im full on football. But yes Argentina wins again in Seven, what a speed have Monetta.

Here the Video resume

Ouch, that last pass by Perez of France was a shocker, easy intercept by Monetta
and over he goes under the posts for an easy try - great play!
1135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 09, 2023, 09:09:36 PM
Alcaraz vs djokovic game was not as one would expect beside the first two sets that were really competitive and tight the last two were one sided for djokovic who broke five of alcaraz serves which is impressive especially in a clay court, now he will face either Ruud or zverev and after today performance i don't think they stand a chance against him and if he managed to win the tournament it will be his second grand slam this year.

In fact, Alcatraz was experiencing pretty rare full body cramps (wow must be quite painful) since early 3rd set. That is the reason of such a poor performance from him. I'm not saying that Carlitos would have won the match but chances were quite high that the match would have gone into the 5th set. Such a pity.

Anyway, Zverez was a mess today. I'm not sure what happened to him but he played really terrible tonight.
To me, both Zverev and Alcaraz played terrible. Ruud had a much easier win against Zverev, 6-3 6-4 6-0. In the third set Zverev unable to take a single point is very bad. For this he could've walked over. Anyhow the favourite to win have made it to the finals very easily.

In the match between Alcaraz and Djokovic, everyone must have expected it to be atleast a close one. From the beginning there is dominance of Djokovic. A second set comeback gave boost to Alcaraz followers, but third and fourth sets were really worse, 6-3 5-7 6-1 6-1. Once again the final to be won by Djokovic.

Well I was confident Alcaraz would win, my bet is dead now though. I'm a bit worried
for Alcaraz though, for a young player he is getting injured quite often I think.

I thought the match between Ruud and Zverev would have been much closer, the final
scoreboard looks like Zverev didn't turn up at all.

The final on Sunday I agree is going only one way, I cant see Ruud beating Djokovic
eventhough they are seeded 3 and 4.
1136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 09, 2023, 06:27:10 AM
Sabalenka's unforced errors was the deciding factor alright. I'm not sure Muchova
will pose a bigger threat against Swiatek than Sabalenks herself would.

The odds for the final on Swiatek are not great, she is overwhelming favourite and
I suppose rightly so.

Mens semi final day today

Alcaraz v Djokovic, I have a small wager on Alcaraz with not bad odds 1.47

Ruud v Zverev is pretty even, I really dont know how to bet on this, I would probably
go with the favourite Zverev - thinking he has made a massive recovery on clay
at Roland Garros and has found his confidence

Damn, we didnt think that result was going to be like that. Titans too strong.

I took a look at that broken jaw incident and it didnt look malicious on the part of
Fa’asuamaleaui but he is on report but its a very serious injury to receive.

Tomorrow one of the games sees the Sea Eagles go up against the Dolphins and
they are favoured to win too, 1.33 - 3.6, I see Timelord that you arent betting on that game.

I'll play safe and go with the Sea Eagles, Rabbitohs and Broncos
1138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 07, 2023, 07:36:51 PM
Zverev won the match against Etcheverry. But it was a great performance from Etcheverry and he was really strong. Many people did not think that Zverev would get so far. After a mixed performance in the last few tournaments, he seems to have found his old form again in Paris.
Now he will play against Rude or Rune in the semi-finals.

Ruud is going strong, he has bagged the first set 1-6 and serving for the second 2-5.

Its great for him and great to get revenge from their last meeting, Ruud is a very intelligent
player. Will he be able though to beat Djokovic....if he beats Rune?

On the WTA side, bit of an interesting win by Haddad Maia over Jabeur, she now plays
Swiatek in one of the semi finals. Muchova plays Sabalenka in the other but
its kind of looking like a Sabalenka v Swiatek final. Its only now really that I start
following the WTA side.
1139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: June 07, 2023, 12:08:45 PM
Tsitsi worth 5/1 you think?
Nah, not really. I think he's playing really good so far, but Alcaraz is playing better.
I would bet on Tsitsipas at this stage of a GS

No surprises there, in the end, and I left the match just minutes before Kachanov actually did win the first set. Would have banked some money if I had just a few minutes to spare, but anyway, glad I stuck to my guns of ditching Tsitsi, still get tempted every now and then but I think his sun has crashed maybe for good.

Alcaraz will destroy Đoković. I will go with the biggest possible handicap the bookies are willing to offer.

I'm continuing with my bets on outsiders, today I'm going with Etcheverry to win against Zverev.
I have Zverev in BSFL and I do believe he's the favorite, but a much smaller one than the odds show.

Now you're talking my language! I put him in the same bracket as Medvedev -- not in talent, but in their ability to seemingly give up good positions often.

Re Alcaraz, haven't had the pleasure of watching him play recently, but if Djokovic plays anywhere near the problematic phase of yesterday's first set, I don't doubt a slaughter.

That said, I like Djokovic as the outsider, so I'm going the opposite direction from you, but waiting for markets to offer -handicap -- maybe not the max but I'd like to bump the odds to 4/1 min.

Ah damn, I see from my previous post that my predictive text left out the 'nt from would.

Tsitsipas needs to ditch his family from the coaching team, I seriously think they
are more of a hinderance than a help at this stage.

I know you buwaytress like myself and others have been let down by his performances
in the past so at this stage of a GS its way too risky to bet on him especially against to top guys.

Djokovic v Alcaraz, I recon there is massive pressure on Djokovic to get past Alcaraz,
on to the final and win GS #23, I might see can a handicap be picked up
