1241  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin Electrum on: May 07, 2023, 11:47:16 AM
I just started buying BTC, someone recommended me to use Bitcoin Electrum to store BTC. What is it and how do I use it? Thanks!
If you are planning to buy amounts worth much to you, I suggest you invest more in security. For example, If you choose to use electrum, make sure you set up and open the wallet in an air gapped device to completely eliminate any points of weakness in security that might lead to loss of your Bitcoins
1242  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SPORTSBET.io accuse me with multi accounting and DONT PAY MY WINNINGS on: May 07, 2023, 11:41:04 AM
Hello guys,
I send mr steve all conversations via PM . Maybe 1 week passed but still I have no answer or explanation about situation. Is this normal behaviour ? Can experienced guys answer this please
Give him some time. I am sure he's doing a follow-up. If the wait is too long, you can try to ask how far he's gone with the follow-up but what I know from the past, he has been very good at following up and giving an update about situations especially when he promised to look into them.
1243  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: PSA: Never use perpetual futures for shorting on: May 06, 2023, 11:58:20 PM
This is a problem for people who want to keep positions for long and don't want to take profits but with a proper risk management strategy and a reasonable risk reward ratio. I don't see why it's bad to short perpetual contracts. In fact, short Perpetual contracts is far much easier that longing. Market build up is usually slow while the dumps usually happen faster.
1244  Economy / Reputation / Re: Can someone remove DireWolfM14 from this Marketplace? on: May 06, 2023, 11:41:27 PM
All these posts were posted rapid-fire, and all were deleted immediately (by a moderator, I presume.)
He definitely posted death threats, which should attract a permanent ban as it's against the forum rules. But I don't know if mods can also rely on third party archives for evidence in order to ban a member.

I think we have had enough of this lending board newbie scammers.
1245  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: crypto stuck on gmail on: May 05, 2023, 10:55:27 PM
Another thing is have you tried to recover it through your mobile number?
Apparently, the mobile number he used was a fake one so there is no way of recovering the account via mobile
You probably missed the post since he deleted it now but this is what he said

i have a gmail account thats a few years old  . the recovery options i added is example like customers@yahoo.com phone num: 4444444444 with a country prefix i can't recall. stupid i know but i wasent expecting crypto to blow up like this.

1246  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin network fee, worrying sign? on: May 05, 2023, 01:39:21 PM
It's not a big worry at the moment. Transaction fee rates still drop to even below 10 sats/vbyte if you are not in a hurry. Guess we will wait and see what happens in a bull market, but I think these NFTs will die a natural death once people realize that they are useless as ICOs, STOs, IDOs, IEOs were.

It's just a matter of time.
1247  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is there a way to downgrade Electrum android wallet on: May 05, 2023, 01:27:32 PM
Last question: What’s the purposed in security of manually writing down the seed phrase? I’m copying my seed phrase most of the time. I want to know the real danger of it to stop doing that habit.
Not recommended. In fact, most serious wallets do not recommend copying and pasting or screen shooting images of your seeds. Your clipboard is one of the first places the malware looks into. If not, you might be using a third party keyboard which most mobile users do and some of these third party keyboards could be malicious and can leak your clipboard contents

Imagine you just copied your seed and now the malicious actor knows it.

This is why some people lose bitcoins without even know how the hacker hit them. I think you have seen such complaints before. Manually copying and writing avoids exposure of your seed to probably malware.

Or you could wait for the new update of the wallet which is most likely to be released soon (planned release of 4.4.2 is sometime this week according to one of the developers).
It's a feature to enhance privacy and it was a loophole in the old versions so they fixed it. They will not add it again.
I know, my focus was on the general problem due to the virtual keyboard where you couldn't paste anything even in the password area. It has now been fixed in the new update.
1248  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kollider - a "Lightning native" exchange on: May 05, 2023, 01:09:35 PM
Went to go take a look, poked around and got the 'you are coming from a restricted IP' message.
It's likely that they are geo-blocking users from certain countries, especially those from the US since part of the platform has a provision to trade BTCUSD and BTCEUR derivatives

And then went to other sites, in other tabs, to do other things.
Left that tab open in FireFox and after a few minutes it was using a stupid high amount of CPU and my laptop fan was on full. Closed that tab and all was good.

Anyone else seeing it? Since I can't use it I'm not going to dig into it, but I have replicated it.
Could be them or it could be one of my browser extensions.

-Dave
I haven't been able to replicate the same issue when I opened up pro.kollider.xyz. Did you download their extension?
1249  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Paxful is Coming Back but... on: May 05, 2023, 12:50:23 PM
Looks like there was an internal dispute between the owners, lol

I didn't know about this, but it now seems to make sense.

So apparently, the CEO Ray Youssef reigned from Paxful but is now working on a new "P2P electronic marketplace" civkit

And?

If we recall the letter paxful customers got about the shutdown, the recommendation was to use noones. So it's more like a breakaway from Paxful after a possible dispute, and now the other parties are trying to fight back by opening the platform again.

I would avoid using the platform completely.
1250  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Is there a way to downgrade Electrum android wallet on: May 04, 2023, 11:50:14 PM
Or you could wait for the new update of the wallet which is most likely to be released soon (planned release of 4.4.2 is sometime this week according to one of the developers).

The issue of not being able to paste affects even the password field because of the virtual keyboard, especially users who copy passwords from let say password managers.
But it has been identified and will be fixed in the next update - https://github.com/spesmilo/electrum/issues/8352

You can actually copy any address, even in the current version (4.4.1).

Tap on the addresses tab and tap on the address you want to copy, you will see a share symbol. Tap on it, and you will see an option to copy the address.

1251  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: crypto stuck on gmail on: May 04, 2023, 11:10:07 PM
It's going to be very hard to recover your account, or probably impossible.

The problem is, they don't know who exactly is claiming to be the owner of the account. Some questions they usually ask are date of birth and perhaps the time your account was created. Try to engage the Gmail support as much as possible.

But why would you set up a fake recovery number and secondary email for an email address that potentially holds keys to your investments?
1252  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is it time for Old Signature campaigns to redesign? on: May 04, 2023, 10:59:23 PM
But from late 2022, there seems to be a new approach to signature design, and the guys behind the designs are excellent.
What really changed?
Are new design tools discovered or the designers upgraded.
As someone who did art and design before. One thing for sure is, you always get better with time and practice. So it's most likely that the signature designers are getting better at it.

Do you think it's time for some old signature campaigns to wear a new better look. These could give the participants some feelings of renewed energy, you never can tell. I wouldn't want to mention names because this is associated with brands.
What do you think?
Personally, I don't think it's necessary.
1253  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the status of Bitcoin in Tanzania? on: May 04, 2023, 10:38:41 PM
I think you will be good to go if you use P2P exchanges, but that means you may have to set some bank accounts or payment methods once you get there.

I haven't seen any many articles or news stating that Tanzania is not crypto-friendly, or a full hostile ban on them, like it is a case with other African Countries like Nigeria. But even then, Nigerians are still very actively trading despite the ban because of the poor legal framework, so I believe you will not find any troubles with your Bitcoins while in Tanzania.

I am quite envious, I wish I could join you on such a trip  Wink
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 04, 2023, 09:06:08 PM
I hope Man Utd can get a chance to score this time. because the minutes of the game have entered the 80th minute.  Lips sealed
Sorry, it turned out to be the reverse through a late penalty

Was Never expecting Brighton & Hoves Albion to have hold Man United a draw up to this time without man United scoring a single goal ,Thy have mounted pressure on Man U right from the first half to an extent that Man united side have gotten 3 yellow cards so far in this game at 70+ minutes. .
Looks like you don't know Brighton & Hove Albion very well, especially when they are playing against top Premier League sides. In fact, not so long ago, the held Manchester United all the way to penalty shoot-outs in the FA semi Final.

If there was anything, this was always going to be a very tough match for Manchester United.

1256  Other / Meta / Re: Can one use UI to correct grammatical errors? on: May 04, 2023, 04:59:14 PM
OP… I think you have a typo in the title. It should be “AI” instead of “UI”.

Let me get this right. So after looking at a certain post, and you want to reply, you post your reply to Lemar AI chat, and then it corrects your sentence with the right grammar?

I have been using Language tools add-on (same as Grammarly) to correct my spelling and grammatical mistakes though it's not 100% perfect, I believe the idea is similar?
1257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is trezor censorship real? and how does it work, and what impact would it have o on: May 04, 2023, 04:49:39 PM
The coinjoin protocol is based on Bitcoin's Proof-of-Stake (PoS) protocol. It allows miners to mine blocks at a low cost, without having to worry about fees, which are a problem for Bitcoin. This is a good thing, because it makes it easier for miners to mine blocks faster and more profit is made from the block mining.
Mister, It looks like you have got a lot of things mixed up here. Where did you get it from?

Proof of stake is something completely different from coinjoin. And Bitcoin has never used PoS, and it's less likely that it will use that protocol

I'm a bit confused about the concept of coinjoin. Is it possible to implement it
I suggest you do more reading about coinjoin, proof of work and then proof of stake. Start with the link that has been provided to you in the comment above mine.
1258  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SPORTSBET.IO - FAKE GAMES IN-PLAY - BE CAREFUL on: May 04, 2023, 01:21:12 PM
I had a long loud laughter reading your passage  Grin

Why bet on an event if you think it's fake?

Assuming you had placed a bet of under 47,5 and won, would you be here complaining?
I guess the organizers were there watching and as soon as your special bet came in, they must have been like "come on guys, make sure the score is below 47,5, we have a bloke who just placed a bet of an over 47,5 on sportsbet.io"  Grin
1259  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ 7 BTC WB ᐉ Altcoin Betting ᐉ no KYC ᕗ Instant payouts on: May 03, 2023, 11:56:53 PM
Found a list recently showing 1xbet among the top gambling sites in the world. This just goes to show how powerful they truly are. They are clearly supporting 1xbit which is why they are still functioning despite all the scam accusations.
I am not surprised.

They are everywhere with their bloody scam money, sponsoring and running adverts so that they can get new victims. Do not be surprised that even the site or service that ranked them among the top gambling side was paid off some commissions

Remember Melbet, the scam that was exposed in this forum?

Well the other day when I was watching a la Liga match, they had their adverts running in the Stadium LED Display boards. >Sad

1260  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: crypTrax - Keep track of your cryptocurrencies on: May 03, 2023, 11:40:50 PM
Hello and thank you.. nice work!

Do you know why when I click on the "Please add currencies" button, it loads indefinitely while remaining at 0%?

THANKS
Got the same problem too on the Windows application
It was a nice tool, but It looks abandoned as the last update was on 23rd May 2023 - https://github.com/Escaflownevan/crypTrax

I am thinking of opening an issue, but it's less likely that Escaflownevan might even work on it.
