1241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Typical scenario when you are losing on: September 14, 2023, 10:51:26 PM
How did you get over your addiction? I have seen people struggle with addiction for years. Some went into depression from it and had to end it with suicide. Your addiction survival story will be appreciated and I know many others can learn from it.
I started to gamble in 2014. I was addicted from the start all because I was looking for ways I can use gambling to make money consistently, like weekly income. I quite gambling in 2019. That was five years after. I started to gamble again a year after, that was 2020. I noticed I wanted to be addicted again and I quit again and started to gamble some months after. Then I noticed I was not addicted again in that 2020. What made me not to be addicted again was when I know the root cause of my addiction. I later knew I can not make gambling a source of income because it will only destroy my life. That was where the addiction ended.
You should have known from the other gambler’s experiences that gambling as a source of living will never be sustainable and will only put you high hopes on it and still end up with big disappointment and huge losses. That is why from the start, I set some boundaries towards my gambling habits. Although sometimes the urge to constantly gamble really triggers me, but I believe it’s all on your discipline and wise money management that still keep my gambling expenses manageable. Gambling addiction always brings negativity in us, that’s why we have to avoid it before it will ruin all our hard-earned money and end up regretting.
1242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: September 14, 2023, 02:28:02 PM

And he is not really that courageous like Pacquiao who always seeks a good match up even if people are already looking at the opposite side, still he charges towards them like he doesn't care at all and will instead give his best towards his own preparation so that he will go inside the ring ready, he may be the winner or defeated, the important thing for him is that he tried and did his best. Afterwards, he will have his own time to bounce back after that loss, and knowing Pacquiao, he always have many reasons to stay determined.

Definitely true. He wants to fight the best, but it seems he hasn't had the opportunities he desires. It has been a while since he became a champion, so he is very eager to regain that status. He's into a big challenge if he's given the opportunity because he needs to beat Inoue to become a champion again. Perhaps there's a right time for him, a reward for his patience. If he beats Inoue, given the fight will happen, he will become a very popular boxer.

That is if he can do that job successfully, I don't mean to disrespect but look at them and compare what they have done in the past years. Inoue evolved to a much dangerous monster while Casimero is still figuring out what to do to become a champion, other than that, his power seems to go down when he climbed 122 because up until now, we haven't saw the Casimero that we have known before.
1243  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A person who won 600k$ in lottery on: September 14, 2023, 10:10:26 AM
As they say, those who earned money without breaking some sweat will also find themselves in the same situation where they will lose all of it without breaking some sweat.

My point is, people don't know the trouble if they found those money without any effort, just for example winning the lottery, most people will spend those winnings as if they already have unlimited money until they come to a point where they realize that it's already over for them as they spent it on useless things without providing something for their future so that they won't have the same problem again where they will hope for another winnings again.
Someone that has no experience making that amount of money does not really know how difficult it is to actually obtain it, and as such they will spend it thinking it is never going to run until it happens, this is also something that happens a lot to those that get an inheritance, and the worst part is that those people will then get used to spend a lot of money but they will lack the ability to actually make it, and if they are unable to adjust their behavior back and get used to spending a small amount of money then their lives will become very difficult from that moment on.
This is the reason why financial management should be learned and practice in the first place. By allocating big funds for those who can provide huge profits in the future, and smaller funds for those wants that are actually not necessary at all. If you can be wise in spending your wealth, it won’t run out in the end but will eventually continue to grow until you see yourself finally living your life’s goals. Winning in a lottery is actually a blessing and might not be happening to you again so you need to utilize those funds cautiously and wisely.
1244  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does an online Foodbetting site sound? on: September 14, 2023, 08:52:51 AM
This reminds me of the Chinese hot spicy food competition that I used to watch, it's been years since I've watched it last, it's all about how bossy you are at eating hot chilies, and there are few accidents where you can collapse and move to the hospital, it's a harmful game but fun to watch.

Within a few seconds, you will start sweating heavily and your eyeballs will turn red, You will be given the option to quit if you can't handle it, but you will lose money, To win, the opponent must quit or give up before you.

Such games are not safe but it's fun to watch, food is good for the body but it can turn into poison if you consume them wrongfully, I don't think it's a healthy game, just my own perspective.
Well you have a good point. Food betting or food eating competition might be exciting and interesting for the audience. But how about for those participants who might be at risk for choking or maybe poisoning wherein their body will react to the various foods that they have been eating. I can see it’s really fun but for me, this is not a healthy one. The bettors might be rejoicing once they win but for sure the participants will have an after effect on their body right after the food eating competition.
1245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Friendly wagers in Bitcointalk on: September 13, 2023, 10:40:01 PM
The thing you indicated in the subject is actually a thing that has been on the forum for a long time. Generally the members joining pools are making "side bets" between themselves. We have made side bets with many members this season. We didn't feel the need of using escrow as we trusted each other. I even created a spreadsheet to be able to follow these. For the ones who would like to take a look at:

spreadsheet
Luckily, trust has been established already that’s why it’s easy to wager with its individual bets and pay after once lose. However, for those who are still new and want to do wagering in bitcointalk, then don’t be too trusting at first. Know your peer well and maybe establish a bond first before you decide to wager with each other. And do not jump into huge bets, who knows your wagering partner can be transparent at first but later on show his true colors and won’t be replying on you anymore. So wager with caution, and as much as possible, do it with your close colleague in bitcointalk.
1246  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Australia will ban Gambling through credit cards on: September 13, 2023, 09:10:29 PM
Sportsbet already took the initiative towards this move. If I'm not mistaken they already started barring people from funding their accounts with credit cards. I think this is a monumental approach and move towards a safer and more responsible gambling within Australia that I believe the rest of the world should emulate. When someone who's not accustomed to gambling responsibly is given such uncontrolled power as a credit card, they go overboard. Overdrafting themselves since they believe they can pay off the debt anyway when they get their big win. But the big win will never come, they'll lose more and more until shit hits the fan and they are left with a negative balance tehy can't pay off due to the staggering amount of it.
Just as they say, people should not be betting with money that they don’t really have, so banning will eventually protect their people not to fall on heavy debts because of addiction from online gambling. For me, the legislation towards this ban is really reasonable as this is the only way so that the Australian government can protect its people not to harm themselves in online gambling, as well as the families of the online gambling gamblers.
1247  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Behaviours of gamblers you dislike. on: September 13, 2023, 04:43:56 PM
I don't like people after losing gambling. They take their anger out on friends, family, and work. They are so selfish. I hate people like that. In life, they seem to have no responsibility for what they cause. They think doing so will put their mind at ease. But that's wrong. They are gradually ruining their lives with those small sadnesses. Lost money can be earned back. I just hope they can master themselves in this gambling game.
There are some gamblers who fail to control themselves after losing. Those gamblers try to blame others for their gambling failures. Some are anxious themselves, even if they don't directly blame themselves. As a result, they do not maintain good relations with family, friends and relatives. But not everyone does this. We can gamble but we should gamble with money such money that losing will not affect the personal life of the gambler. Only they should remember that winning and losing both are part of gambling so one should not expect only win they should ready for loss.

That is why gambling should only be played when you are in the right mood and position to gamble while risking what would be the consequences later. Losing is a part of the process, we know that, and if a gambler cannot handle the anxiety and feeling, then he shouldn't be playing as he will only put the people around him at risks and probably destroy his own family as he cannot control his own feelings instead of knowing his own boundaries and priorities in life.
1248  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 13, 2023, 04:04:37 PM
You know what the interesting thing is? I feel like if USA brings in that amazing squad, they will not be able to beat everyone with 40 points. I get that they are going to be fine, but I do not think that it will be all that simple. Lebron is older, other nations do have players who he will not be able to guard that well as well.

I think it's quite important to remember that because we are talking about a situation where it is not going to be that easy for them to score. So all in all I believe that we are not going to get that much of a good result, maybe they will get the gold medal again but not as easily as people think it will be. I feel like this is different from the redeem team period, basketball has improved.
Obviously the 10 players we see are or were great players in the NBA at 1 point in their careers, but like you said Lebron is older. Not only Lebron is older , but KD is getting older, dame very old, Kyrie old, and Draymond old. They are still valuable players on their respective teams, but youth is going to wear these old guys out.

If the US sends to Paris a lineup full of mid-30s players then it might end up in a disaster. But I guess it'll depend on the outcome of the playoffs which players are available after a grueling tough season.

Lebron James is the one calling now to join him at the Paris Olympics. It's a bit odd since he's never been in the US team in the last two Olympics which were led by Kevin Durant. Also, Jason Tatum was the second-best scorer after KD in the last Tokyo Olympics. So it's like Tatum (unless he is not playing in Paris) will be sitting on the bench to accommodate Lebron in the starting line-up.

Instead of naming their line-up as a "Redeem Team 2.0", might as well name them in advance as the exact opposite of it because sending a full roster who already on their mid 30s will not end up good. Sure there will be some hype because the names is a blockbuster hit but they cannot live up to their name specially if they will be given a less time to prepare.

Plus, it will be more intense specially if Serbia will call up Nikola Jokic to play with them. We know that they are already a dangerous team and adding Jokic to it will make them deadly as they can be.
1249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: September 13, 2023, 02:43:18 PM
So according to Eddie Hearn, this fight is still alive but the signed October 28 date is off. Eddie is looking for the last week of November or early December as its new date.

So it was just a push, but still good to hear that the fight is still going to happen despite what we heard with Regis.
Even though the fight was postponed and there is no definite date when it can be held it will still take place and the cancellation of the initial schedule was only due to a small problem that occurred.
The Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney fight has become one that all boxing fans have been waiting for and it looks like the two fighters holding the WBC belt will show a pretty fierce fight.
Devin Haney is the most impatient to immediately carry out this fight.

It's just that Devin Haney wanted to exploit Regis Prograis so he acts like he is in a hurry. Haney had been training already and he wanted to catch Prograis to have less training than the usual 2 months camp.

Anyway, this fight is a go. The final date is on December 9 at the Golden State Warriors' Chase Center in San Francisco, California. So at least Eddie Hearn did not follow the Haneys' request of making the fight on an earlier date which put Prograis at a disadvantage. I'm excited and I am looking forward to the champion Prograis landing his powerful punches on Haney.  Cheesy

The details are already out for the public to know that this fight will be pushed through at a later date instead of what was discussed few weeks before, they made it seem that this is already a done deal so that there are still some room for them to market the fight and gather some hype but the truth is, it's not really that done because Regis said that they are still waiting for Haney's camp to sign the contract.
1250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: September 13, 2023, 02:14:17 PM
I'm not really viewing Takuma as a threat because he doesn't have that one punch like his brother does.

We should disregard Takuma Inoue being the younger brother of Naoya Inoue when it comes to analyzing the fight.

Instead, we can consider saying that Takuma might not be a threat to Ancajas because of;

a) fighting experience
b) not a Knock Out specialist
c) the WBO Bantamweight title he owned was vacant prior

But personally for me, threat or not, I don't want to think that Takuma Inoue should be an easy fight for Ancajas. He is now a champion and will defend his first-ever WBO Bantamweight title in front of his fellow countrymen. It will fuel more to unleash his best performance as a champion.

Yes, so there's a lot of the shoulders of Takuma Inoue right now. I mean his brother has set precedence in the bantamweight already and we can say that he might want to follow his brother path too to become undisputed by it will not be very easy.
Because in his first title defense, it will be against a former champion and have a good knockout power in Jerwin Ancajas.
And we all know that Jerwin has all the tools to become a world champion again. And so Takuma Inoue here might be in danger losing his first title defense.
Unless he really trains very hard, but then again, even if he is the brother of the Monster, he can't be help by him once the bells ring.
With that majority here might go with Ancajas to win and it will be impressive if he can score a knockout.

That is his reality, he might want to follow his brother's footsteps because that is the goal but he cannot do anything about it because fact is, he is not viewed as a threat in this division. He may be a champion now but judging how he fights in the ring and his record, I can say that he won't be holding these belts for a long time, what more if he thins about unifying all of it. Let's say for example that he ducked Ancajas in this case and chose to pursue the other champions, namely Moloney or Rodriguez, I think his chances will remain the same, only slim.

Well, it is what it is. I cannot say that he is somehow unfortunate because people will keep on comparing him because he still have a chance to prove his worth in this division, people might not be convinced on how he became a champion but sooner or later, people will start to appreciate who he is if he will work harder and maybe in that time, he will not just an ordinary boxer but Takuma Inoue who worked his way out.
1251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Big capital, small risk or small capital big risk - which is best approac? on: September 13, 2023, 10:20:56 AM
It's the opposite for me. The lower the bankroll or capital you have, the lesser risk that you're taking.

Yeah, those that have huge capitals can stay to gamble for so long but do they afford to lose all of that? And that's why I think that having a smaller capital is what should be the lesser risk.

Since everyone is anticipating that they're going to lose then lose with small and affordable amount of yours. The principle of betting what you can afford to lose is what we always say because its risk is associated on how much we're willing to let go.
We share the same idea. Gambling with a small capital only results a lower risk, as having a bigger capital comes with a bigger risk too. However, the fact that almost everyone is losing from gambling, then we should be cautious to only bet for small capital, that way if we lose, at least the pain is still bearable. Than to bet all in by starting a huge capital, and expect a bigger win after, but in reality, bigger capital only enable you to suffer from huge and unbearable losses.
1252  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Manage Your Adrenaline Rush In Gambling? on: September 13, 2023, 09:49:16 AM
Every time I go to physical casinos, I usually have my preferred budget to gamble. That is my way to manage my finances especially when I feel the height of my urge to gamble again despite of consistent losing. That way, if ever I have used up all my funds, then I have no reason to stay in the casino longer knowing my budget has all used up. I’ll just call it a day and then just hope to win the next time I decide to bet again.
1253  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do anyone have done this? with gambling platforms on: September 11, 2023, 05:52:49 PM
Personally, I don't find KYC being an issue at all. If I have the guts to gamble with a lot of money, I should also be able to complete the KYC verification if asked if the money that I'm about to gamble is clean and I don't have any evil intentions. I would only be worried if I know I'm involved in something illegal.
I'm also sure that if we don't get involved with anything illegal and make sure the money we deposit is clean and not for money laundering, I think passing KYC will be very easy, especially playing in a big casino, of course it won't be a problem for us because we definitely use money. Big bets definitely have to be ready in advance to complete KYC at the casino

But sometimes KYC level 1 without providing identity or selfie maybe we can still withdraw big money, it's true what you said this shouldn't be a big problem if we are just small gamblers we shouldn't have to worry about KYC because on big sites without KYC withdrawals are still safe too sometimes Large withdrawals are also safe as long as they don't violate the casino's rules.
But in reality large winnings and withdrawals require KYC the hard way, without it you will never make a successful transaction. While it’s too easy for others to provide KYC especially for beginner gamblers, but for old gamblers, if we can avoid casinos that require KYC, then that will do a lot better. However, KYC these days is getting more compulsory than voluntary so it’s hard to avoid it especially if you are gambling in big and centralized  gambling sites.
1254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slots with the purchase of bonus games - is it good or bad? on: September 11, 2023, 05:28:46 PM
Am not the casino person to advice on this , but from the numerous videos I have watched on this bonus buys I would say it's a 50-50 thing which can be said to be the fastest way to lose money or the fastest way to make some good money depending on how lucky you are...

And truth be told, such game plays aren't for people with one game hand to play...you need to keep playing to give yourself a winning chance which is the unfortunate thing!

But all in all, you know what they day...of you don't play you can't win.
I guess that’s always the case not just in slots but in different gambling games, if you don’t dare to play, you can’t be winning for sure. And the more you decide to play, the bigger chances you’ll have to lose, or the bigger chances you’ll have to win. At the end of the day, it’s the luck that matters. Without it, no matter how hard you play, you will never have the chance to be in profits. Most especially for slots, where luck plays a big role in winning.
1255  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: September 11, 2023, 04:56:20 PM
CP3 playing time to time makes sense, plus if they can put him in the games early on the season, even if he doesn't see the end of the season they could build a team that would handle the early season part easily and win some games, get ahead, and then CP3 could rest a bit and play less games and then end the season stronger.

What I think will happen is that CP3 will probably get about 20-25 minutes per game for about 30 or so games the start, and then he is going to start playing 50% of the other games, which would be about another 20 or so, and finish the season with 50 games like mentioned but at least be well rested for the playoff time. Their small ball line up could definitely be decent if they adjust well.

They will start the season by having some experiment because they need it even if they have managed to build some plans during the training camp. They still need to execute those said plans in-order to know if it will really work against any other team and instead of letting Klay, Curry and CP3 play together, I guess Kerr will make it by pair so that they will be safe if in case either one of the said three will be burned out, we know that they cannot have those incident together as they cannot afford it.

Anyway, what we have right now are just mere speculations because the Warriors are somehow a mystery to us. We will know about it more as the season will commence.
1256  Other / Off-topic / Re: Keeping your gambling habit a secret. on: September 11, 2023, 04:32:09 PM
For countries that have laws that made gambling legal, it has some speculative age bracket given to it before you can start gambling. It is believed that at that age, your kind of reasoning should be matured, because for any decision you take, it's believe your well informed.
People's opinions will only be secondary. As a gambler, I'm conscious of myself, I discuss my gambling activities to my cycle of friends and I don't see anyone admonishing me, because I play responsible.

Although not all people get mature at the same time, the government just decides on the age of a person depending on research where the person can have a full grasp of what is offered in front of him,  Those who are considered immature 17 years old and below may have a problem of understanding several changes that appear in his actions and decisions. So in a country where gambling is legal, I do not think that there is a need to hide their gambling activity.  But of course, in  a place where people are biased towards gambling, it is best to keep the gambling habit a secret since some countries might implement heavy penalties when caught or exposed to gambling.

18 years of age is considered legal to the government and that is a law but I'd say that the best age for someone to start his journey in gambling should be at least 20 years of age and older because at that time, not only they are matured enough, they are also responsible enough to face any consequence in case that they are not that lucky in any given day. And when it comes to the positive side, they already have priorities and so they can spend the winnings more carefully rather than wasting it in a luxury that doesn't have any value.
1257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - Nov 15 on: September 11, 2023, 03:52:38 PM

Right, weighing the options whom to bet while also thinking that Takuma got the name of an Inoue as he is the younger brother will somehow cloud our judgement and that will not help us in determining which player got more chances because having the Inoue name will somehow speak louder rather than knowing the real facts to give our bets a better chances.

Although, I couldn't help but think what does Takuma felt? I mean, people will always see him in Naoya's shadow because they both share the same name and people will always compare them because they are opposite. To say the truth, I know that it doesn't feel right but that is his reality as they are both in the same industry.
1258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Shakur Stevenson vs Frank Martin - tentative date 11/16 or 12/9 on: September 11, 2023, 03:19:58 PM
An update on this fight: Frank Martin has pulled out and Stevenson is now looking to fight #6 ranked fighter Edwin de los Santos.
https://www.boxingscene.com/shakur-stevenson-seeks-new-opponent-wbc-lightweight-title-fight-frank-martin-out--177598

My guess is that Haymon has managed to pull some strings and another one of Haney's belts will suddenly be declared vacant so that Martin can face an easier opponent instead. Stevenson has called himself the most ducked fighter in boxing and that claim may be accurate. None of the top fighters in the division seem too interested in fighting him.

Thanks for the heads up mate!

Tough guess and I'd say that maybe that was really the case but even we say that Al Haymon wasn't the one pulling the strings behind the scenes, we still cannot blame Frank Martin for pulling out from this fight that could land him a belt once Haney will be stripped if he continue his journey at 140 pounds because he himself already know the chances and that the belt that he will be fighting for is not that realistic to obtain because he will be facing Shakur Stevenson, who is touted to be more intelligent and stronger than Haney.

But this is Frank Martin's chance to show the world if he has what it takes to become a champion, whether this is just for the interim belt. But his team pull out in the last minute as we have thought that everything has been settled down verbally as this didn't go on purse bid and so we've thought that this is a go fight already.

Perhaps Frank Martin doesn't want to take the risk here, as they know that Shakur might win and obviously will put a dent on Martin's career. Anyhow, let's see how will be the replacement, they will have to find someone else.

And for sure, Shakur will go to social media and tell that Frank duck them very clearly.

It was Frank Martin's chance to show what he is made of but he cannot accept to take the trouble and risk his career in-front of Shakur because for him, just imagining it, he just cannot defeat the latter. He wasn't that confident that is why they pulled the plug before these things will be fixed and they no longer can take a U-turn up ahead.

Anyway, I'm already expecting what you said because Shakur just proved it again that the guys are ducking him, including Haney. Now, nobody can argue that because that's what happened.
1259  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the Difference Between Plying Gambling on Online Sites and Real Casinos? on: September 11, 2023, 09:49:59 AM
In my country there are no casinos operating because it is an illegal activity. However, many online gambling sites operate and have many users from our country. So, even though I often play on online gambling sites, I have absolutely no experience playing gambling in real casinos. I often watch YouTube about gambling in real casinos, especially about slot machines. I noticed that in real casinos, slot games do not have a buy free spins feature

Do you have experience playing at real casinos and online gambling sites? Is there a difference playing there? I want to know.
Online and offline casinos certainly create different gambling experience. With online, you will have more convenience playing with your favorite games at the comfort of your home or wherever you are. There are more variety of games listed and there are higher number of rewards and promotions that you can receive. However, with offline casinos, what you will gained is definitely an authentic experience. What you see is what you get. Though there are less variety of games compared to online, but the experience is still worthwhile. And if you prefer to mostly engage with physical casinos, the chances to be scam is very rare compared to the scam cases that are so rampant in online.
1260  Economy / Gambling / Re: Rollbit - be aware, i was lucky on: September 11, 2023, 09:02:48 AM
You must be very lucky. I don’t know what’s the intention of Rollbit for giving you an unexpected bonus but good thing you’ve withdrawn it before banning of your account. So your point of this post is to make us aware that if there’s unexpected bonuses or rewards that enter into our account, at least we should be ready for its consequences. But I don’t see it from your post. It seems like they have an error sending it or whatsoever. At least if you bet it all in and then you lose, you have nothing to regret since it was never your money in the first place.
