1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Could Litecoin Really Go Parabolic This Summer? on: June 07, 2023, 09:07:04 PM
The next Litecoin halving event is coming in August, and that has investors excited about this coin's future upside potential.
Seemingly out of nowhere, Litecoin (CRYPTO: LTC) is on the move again. The coin is up 13% over the past seven days after significantly underperforming the market for much of the year. Over that same period, both Bitcoin (CRYPTO: BTC) and Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) are basically flat.
What are your thoughts on this litecoin resurgence?

We know how halving affects the market trend a reason why we believe that this will increase the price of Litecoin to some extent but not to the point of getting it bullish as it was not the same as when the entire market is at ATH. Probably we can witness a surge in its price but it drops then after a while. So, if we are buying Litecoin, much better to start accumulating before halving and then sell it when it hits on its peak I can't imagine keeping the trend for long, investors will drop making the price drop as well, and we should anticipate it.
1262  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Does anyone still stores their crypto in any exchange on: June 07, 2023, 08:43:47 PM
Does anyone here still stores their crypto in exchanges? I think the best choice would be to move a higher value of funds to a hardware wallet while leaving a small amount that's less than 5K in an exchange.
Well, I did but not that much. I keep $100-$200 in Binance as my capital for trading. If you are in trading, you don't need to withdraw it all and then deposit again, you'll double your transaction cost so instead, leave some money enough for trading and that is what I did for several months and I have no problem.
Quote
So, why would anyone in their right mind take the risk of storing your crypto on exchange? When it usually means that the exchange retains control (or 'custody') of your assets without giving you access to the private keys. Also, they can disappoint you at any time.

As I consider leaving money for trading, well, that is a different story for those who keep their money as storage wallets. That is not a good idea because even using reputable exchanges still remains not advisable.
1263  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 07, 2023, 02:15:57 PM
I'm not sure what you meant by not everyone is happy for the Fulton vs Inoue fight. It's a great fight and maybe one of the most anticipated fight in the super bantamweight as Inoue is going up in weight and wanted to become a champion again. While Fulton wanted to stay his ground and proved that he is the king of this division.

He meant that the winner of the Fulton vs Inoue fight will be mandated to fight Tapales. There's no question that Fulton vs Inoue is a big fight, but this division is not a money-sucker yet. So, I'm sure if Inoue dominates this division, he will likely move up again.

We are certain he will because he won't be able to match the success of Pacman if he stays in just one division. However, I believe it's still too early to discuss that. We all know that Inoue is the challenger, so let's first see if he can truly defeat the champion Fulton before hyping Inoue's future success. After Fulton, Inoue is likely to face Tapales, who is a champion, leading to a unification fight, and it's probable that Inoue will also aim for an undisputed fight.

All these possibilities will only come to fruition if Inoue emerges victorious.
1264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: June 07, 2023, 01:00:07 PM
Ravena is back!

https://www.onesports.ph/pba/article/12503/look-who-s-back-kiefer-ravena-dons-nlex-colors

I was quite surprised, thinking he had returned for good. However, upon reading the article, I discovered that he was only here for training. Nevertheless, I have heard that there is a new rule in the PBA now that allows players who have already played abroad to still participate in the PBA. This is great news for those who choose to play overseas rather than joining the PBA as a professional.
1265  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 07, 2023, 12:24:38 PM
What about the total? If the Heat are able to find a way to shoot, then I guess it will be an offensive game. At least the Heat will score 100+ points, and there's a chance that the Nuggets will also score, resulting in the over 214 being hit.

The current total was opened at 216 but is now down to 214. It's possible that people were thinking this game would go under. Well, they have a point if that's what they really thought because both teams would certainly aim to be ahead in this game, making it a more physical game.
1266  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What if social media apps start launching their own cryptocurrency? on: June 06, 2023, 10:04:49 PM
Honestly, they can as it was easy to create other shitcoins these days but the problem is if people will look into that and use it. Well, though we can't assume it never works, however, I think there is no point in creating another altcoin as we already have plenty of it, why not use those coins that already existed instead? I think it was better to just focus on a few coins rather than having a lot of it which sustainability is even missing. In fact, FB does and it fails in end, it should be no more attempt to happen next as it fails again.

If they will create, we can do nothing but they must think wisely before they wasted their time doing that.
1267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 06, 2023, 01:37:52 PM
As of now, there have been no changes to the spread. It's still +2.5 for the Heat, which I believe is worth taking a shot.

Expect no changes to that spread, even if the Heat announce that Herro will be coming back in game 3. The Heat now have the momentum, and they believe they can win games whether on the road or at home, so it's not new to them. Right now, Miami is more battle-tested as they were able to win in game 7 after losing three consecutive games. I hope the Nuggets will not be too emotional after losing game 2 and will instead focus on getting the job done, which is to win.
1268  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: June 06, 2023, 01:12:46 PM
Oh my, I got surprised and a bit shock by that unexpected plan by Converge.

I'm not sure, but I suppose Converge was already aware of that fact before they purchased Alaska and rebranded it as Converge. Perhaps they acquired Alaska with the intention of selling it at a higher price. It's possible that there are companies interested in buying the team, and I have a feeling that it could be either from the Pangilinan or Cojuangco group.
I also see that possibilities, just a change in hands from Alaska to make sure that these two giant companies will get the franchise and no other outsider can acquire the team, for me, before they bought it from alaska they are well-aware of the situation they know that the dominance of these two companies are existing not going to buy that they don't know it or they don't believe that it's really happening inside the league before they decide to get that brand and rename it to their business.
The more these two wealthy men own a team, the more they can potentially influence the outcome of the game, leading some people to speculate about the possibility of rigging in the PBA. Well, let's wait for the news to come up. At least now we know that Coverge or Dennis Uy has no plans of keeping this team on his side for the long term.
1269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People are giving too much importance to exchanges on: June 05, 2023, 10:28:28 PM
Bitcoin and Exchanges are different but they are both connected to each other that is why, as you have experienced when Binance has a problem, it affects the price of Bitcoin as well. And this is because exchanges have a huge role in the crypto space where people are buying and selling there, and if any problems arise with these exchanges, users are really affected. That is why people are giving more attention and importance to them as it was one reason why people are here and make a good profit and trading are alive.
1270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will China takeover as the leader in blockchain and start the new bull market? on: June 05, 2023, 09:37:47 PM
China can't just see and get calm when seeing other countries adopting cryptocurrencies. They'll think before that closing their door from crypto helps them a lot and making their own digital currency is in demand. They'll overthink the impact of such action and now, they're getting back to get in touch and wanted to bring back blockchain on their territory and later own, they've thrown it again.

Though we can say there us a huge impact of their leaving crypto but we're not sure about this time. If it helps to increase demand and price, then much better but still, we don't have to expect much from it.
1271  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The effect of Bitcoin on children on: June 04, 2023, 09:56:01 PM
It is art and children love art. They draw things they know and know recently but they even don't know what it means technically. Children are hungry to discover new things and if they have fun with new things, they love it.
Children loves art and whether the story is real or fictional, the core message the OP is trying to pass is that whatever you do have a way of influencing or rubbing off on those around you. This is the case with the kid in the OP's story. Now, if this is happening with the kids, I can say that his mother will also feel the bitcoin effect. For the father to get the kid interested in bitcoin, he could start by telling the kid to recreate the bitcoin logo as well as other cryptocurrency logos. This would be a great way to spark a conversation about bitcoin.
Perhaps they did what is on their mind and the Bitcoin logo seems attractive to them. But for sure these kids never know what is this for, probably they just saw it on the internet or flashing on the television and it catches their attention. Education and some sort of introduction to Bitcoin is a good idea so these kids are also aware of the logo they've drawn but not necessarily they put weight on that. Just for at least someone is asking what is that logo, these kids can answer it and that is enough. And the more its spreads into their community, the possibility it gets more attention and interest.
1272  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin as a retirement plan for my parents on: June 02, 2023, 01:42:55 PM
I'm just wondering how you wanna convince your parents to believing you -- I saw an OP saying Nigerian parents are always becoming too sceptical in stuffs like that.. I can't say they're not but I don't wanna make that a predominant factor as old peeps in the outside world would also do the same thing... Apathy remains a core dissociative factor and that can actually happen anywhere... Only that I can also say 9% out of 100 of them aged people in America would feel the same way.
Bitcoin made as a retirement plan isn't  bad for your parents if they've got to do it professionally...

Sandra 🧑‍🦰
Whether we're going to believe what it says on OP, considering investing crypto as a retirement plan should be planned so well. Because investing seems to become useless if we don't know anything about it and most of all, if we're not interested in this. Because how hard is the OP to convince his parents but if it was not their interest, he would still fail? And the question is if they are also to take risks.

We can't compare the people who live in poor countries to rich countries as their mindset is possibly different and much more different when it talks about investment.
1273  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Behavioural signs that suggest you are Addicted to Gambling on: June 02, 2023, 01:03:40 PM
As gambling addiction can be a challenging issue that can have a very harmful impact on an individual's life. it is always recommended to find a professional helpb rather struggling with it. Do you agree with those behaviours? If not then you can suggest some, that can be added to this topic.

I believe that this generalized how addiction affects people; other behavior are unique to people. I've seen the 5 facts you mentioned, but at the same time, I've seen gamblers who are addicted hate people around them because people he was losing and couldn't help socialize with others, he also has this character of not having an appetite to eat, always thinking how to make more money to balance his losses and when he tried again, he always lost the money and every time becomes bitter, unhappy with himself and people who come close to him. I've also witnessed people lose their sense of logic as a result of addiction-related losses.
Generally, we can see that person had changed - in behavior, decision-making, relationships with the family, and time spent. Because in their mind, it is all about gambling and nothing would gain their interest is to talk also about gambling. And when it comes financial, they could be a liar.
We couldn't think of a better future for these gambling addicts, they'll not just lose their opportunity to enjoy their lives but they separated themselves from other groups of people who are stress-free and happy.
1274  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risk management on: June 02, 2023, 12:01:20 PM
When trading there are rules to observe in other to protect your margin, it's more like if you can't make more money, don't lose the one you have,
That's where risk management comes in handy.
    The strategies are;

_ Don't risk too much money, start with what you can afford to risk. Focus on the risk not rewards.
...
Usually, people got afraid of trying something like trading because they think too much about the risk and possible losses which they believe it was not right. Because for me, if I have to trade, I'd focus on thinking about what I can do to minimize risk and earn a profit, and building confidence that we can do these things right. The more we think about risk, the more we lose confidence and hard to make good decision because inside our mind is all about uncertainties and this will drive us to losing ends.
1275  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will you sell Shib now? Am holding on: June 02, 2023, 11:18:46 AM
Yes, the best way to be part of this good news that is about to happen to shib token holders, is to exercise patience with the current price, because the shib teams are seriously working to ensure the price improve higher before the end of this year 2023. I think, there is still an opportunity for you to buy more of shib token and add for the one you have bought before to enable you feel good when the price hit higher any moment from now. Selling Shiba tokens in this season is not advisable to holders, because there is no way you can make a good income out of it base on the low price in the market.
I don't want to believe this news but of course, why not have their chance to show to the community that they are worth trusting and be considered as one of the promising coins in the market, apart from being a meme coin? Because people haven't expected this project to give fortune nor the people had thought that Shiba Inu is different from other meme coins.
Though I don't have any of this project, I'm also going to wait for the result of their hard work. But for now, I don't recommend holding this coin for long-term, the risk is still too high.
1276  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to draw the attention of the market if you're a good project?? on: June 02, 2023, 09:39:12 AM
The only thing I can say is that your company must carry these things;
 - transparency
 - usability
 - needs an aggressive marketing strategy

Well, using influential people to do the market is highly advantageous. But investors will come and invest in your project if they see that it was not a scam and can really be trusted. We don't need to fool people by using the hype but instead, make know by showing them the usefulness of your project.
1277  Economy / Economics / Re: Money is never enough! on: June 02, 2023, 09:05:24 AM
Having 1 million in our hands is not enough if we are greedy people and aiming more is literally what is on their minds. Contentment is somewhat missing if you believe yourselves that you can earn more and this is what happens to the person that you have talked about OP. And this can possibly happen to anyone who is never satisfied or never find themselves contentment. And it was hard for them to find happiness when deep inside they feel emptiness and greediness.
1278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 02, 2023, 03:06:14 AM
Crawford is the slight favorite, not surprising though and I think the odds although he is the favorite is still a decent one. Just bet 150 usd to win 100 usd. I would not hesitate betting on that, I'm just waiting for the betting odds to be available on the betting sites I'm using then I'll ride on.

Good odds indeed. We know the capability of Terence Crawford to win this match and might dominate Errol Spence.

As a gambler putting some money on Crawford with that odds is already worth taking. Good thing that the odds between them are not that gap. Even those who want to put money on Spence can take advantage of the odds. Spence might be looked a not-tough opponent for Crawford but he's not an underdog to consider. He's also a big thing in the Welterweight but his camp is just associated with dramas.

Still waiting for other betting options as they might give us more worthy odds to pick.

In my own point of view, I will put my money on betting on the match result which is, the fight will end up in a Decision.

I'm seeing this fight will be a closed one and either none of them will allow a knock out win. Although not sure whom I will pick for now.

Both fighters have never experienced a knockdown in their careers, if I'm not mistaken. That indicates that both are durable, so you might be right that this fight will likely end up in a decision, and the busier boxer is likely to come out on top. Based on the respective performances of both boxers in the past, I believe Crawford is more talented than Spence, as Spence does not move a lot, making him an easier target for Crawford, who, in my opinion, is the quicker boxer.
1279  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 02, 2023, 01:50:10 AM
After waiting for the line up, I settled for a 3-players props parlay, Caleb Martin Over 14.5 Points + Kyle Lowry Over 3.5 Assists and Nikola Jokic Over 13.5 Rebounds at 7.08

https://prnt.sc/59jQsViFaZKW

Caleb Martin have been red hot for the Heat from their conference and I expect the confidence shouldn't drop tonight, Kyle Lowry off the bench have been very inspirational for Heat too and his experience in the finals would need for Heat here, 4 dimes shouldn't be more off an issue, Jokic have been very dominated off the board in the playoffs and if Miami Heat have let guys like Tatum afford double digits rebound almost all the 7 games of the conference finals, 14 board should be an easy reach for the Joker.

GL everyone.

Good luck! Caleb Martin needs to produce in the second half since he was scoreless in the first half. It's possible that the defense was focused on him, which is why he wasn't able to be productive. Let's see what kind of adjustments Miami will make in the second half after being down by 17 points.
1280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price is always affected by world market news, why ??? on: June 01, 2023, 08:47:55 PM
I have been in the market since 2018. The paradox I find is
The market is always changing according to world news. It has nothing to do with bitcoin
For a small investor like me, this is undesirable
I want to ask experienced investors?? How can you capture this potential market?
This is what we called volatility and it keeps changing and a lot of factors that influence the changes of its trend and this includes news, social media interactions, etc. It is not to wonder why because not all investors and holders have the same decision and mindset, some are panic sellers which really have a huge impact on the market price changes. The moment that there is a sudden up and down in demand, the more it gains volatility. That is why it is too hard nor do we have the chance to see the price of Bitcoin become stable but guess what, this even helps traders and investors to earn a profit.
