1281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could invested assets be nullified by progressive gas fee after halving? on: July 30, 2023, 07:55:16 AM
Not to offend, you call ordinal madness. the stupidity or greed, let me ask? How does it contradict the idea of Bitcoin or any other asset? And last but not the least: could you please widen your fears for causes that we ordinary people commit from time to time? They are not exactly clear from your post and I really interested in your point of view.
I believe it refers to the hype people have for ordinal that makes them spam the network with ridiculous fees while they don't have any guarantee that their NTF will sell as much as their paid fee. As far as I'm aware, it has died down since people realize that they gamble too much without thinking about the feasibility. Some still try to mint their NFT but fees have become way cheaper. I believe they'll likely move on to layer 2 or other networks if they want to continue doing their thing sooner or later.
1282  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Please who knows about localcoinswap on: July 29, 2023, 10:58:28 AM
TI was really confused  about the whole process and as for the Telegram, I got their Telegram  handle from their site and I had to ask the question in the Telegram group chat where someone slide in my telegram dm and claimed to be from the development department
If you visit the right website, you should be able to see a list of sellers or buyers right? I'd suggest trading with those with track records instead of newbies. You should be able to avoid most scammers who require you to contact them through other platforms with that. Most P2P platforms have built-in chat systems, to begin with.
1283  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum Linux vs MacOS/Windows on: July 29, 2023, 09:34:51 AM
That is, are the electrum of the same version developed for Linux, Windows and MacOS identical. This is not about the security of the OS itself, but specifically about electrum.
As far as I'm aware, the source code is the same regardless of the OS that you use. You can also build and develop it on your own if you don't want to download the app file[1]. Also, they don't use wallet.dat[2] like Bitcoin core. You should be able to copy and paste the wallet file regardless of the OS. CMIIW.

1284  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Buying property with crypto on: July 29, 2023, 09:23:39 AM
Ethereum and its competitors will be used to tokenize assets, and it may be easier to buy real estate in the future."
This reminds me of some altcoin projects I've followed in the past. They do similar things but in the end, failed. Some of them even run away and scam their users. Not really sure how to feel about tokenized assets, especially if most of them are overseas. Most smart contracts are hard to understand/verify and prone to hack too. I'd rather not buy them and stick with buying Bitcoin if an investment is my goal.
1285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Does anyone use OBWallet (OBAndroid)? on: July 29, 2023, 08:39:54 AM
I installed their v0.1.5 APK and was surprised that they are asking for permissions to Manage your calls and access to all the media which doesn't seems right. Has anyone had the same experience?
I can see why they request media permission if they need to create or access some hidden folders or something similar, but phone call permission is suspicious as heck. If this is still present on their final build, I'd suggest not using them at all. I don't recall other apps requesting similar permissions just to create and open a wallet.
1286  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Mass hack -- over 1000 bitcoin addresses have been affected on: July 29, 2023, 08:32:39 AM
I don't know, is it because my core wallet hasn't been active for a long time.
It doesn't matter whether you open your wallet regularly or not, as long as your private key is secure and not exposed you should be fine. If you are sure your case is similar to OP then you can provide more details. Saying that you might get hacked doesn't really help much. A lot of people got hacked and quickly blame their wallet app, even though it was their fault for storing keys on the cloud, downloading malware, etc.
1287  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Scammers have created fake crypto projects using the X.com name. on: July 28, 2023, 06:08:12 AM
what I worry about is people falling for the scam because they have 66k fake followers
I wonder why Twitter is so slow at handling this kind of thing. I've seen dozens of accounts with similar operations doing fake giveaways or airdrop trending on their page, but those accounts are still there without no action taken against them. It doesn't help that their CEO is changing their name to something obscure and allowing some random ass projects to piggyback their name. We can only rely on people having good awareness after so many scams are exposed on Twitter.
1288  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Which app would you recommend for crypto news? on: July 28, 2023, 05:34:18 AM
After you download the application that you post here, so what do you get from the news, do you feel lucky after reading it or worse.
I don't think OP will approach it from a user perspective since one of them is his app. That being said, I don't think people should attach their feelings to the news/market. I don't think that is healthy at all. At the end of the day they are just information that you can utilize for your benefit, but it is understandable to feel shit when some of your investment went south due to some bad news. Regardless if you use a news app or not, I believe it won't change the fact that something will affect your investment at any given time. CMIIW.
1289  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bundle exchange announces their cease of operation on: July 28, 2023, 04:46:36 AM
And I see this has been shared everywhere including Nigerian board,
Some people don't visit this forum that often, or even registered here so I doubt it will help that much for the bigger picture. Not to mention sometimes e-mails notification arrives late or even not showing on their device due to glitches, notification settings, and so on. I'd love to see them give at least more than one month for their users to withdraw their funds. I'm not sure how much they need to spend to keep their service running, but it should be cheaper after they stopped their services and focus on processing withdrawals.

quite surprised that this platform isn't popular enough.
Not really surprising. We do have similar platforms that are quite active on the local market but have zero presence on the forum or social media.
1290  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best crypto exchange - 247 CRYPTO on: July 28, 2023, 04:36:17 AM
Your input has been constructive in shaping our services, and we are thrilled to inform you that we have considered all your wishes.
I don't really see any changes to your service. Still lacking transparency as before, questionable reserves that we can't verify, unclear quotes data sources, and so on. Other than another update in reserves that is yet verifiable, do you change anything else? I don't see anyone recommending your service here, your business still looks as questionable as before.
1291  Economy / Economics / Re: Japan reaffirm Web3 plans on: July 28, 2023, 04:20:39 AM
Once they go ahead and start creating projects utilizing web3.0 and blockchain technology, the market will see a positive effect for sure, we will see a large hike in adoption rates worldwide since this will build more trust among retail investors from all around the world as people believe Japan as being one of the most innovative countries in the world when it comes to technology.
I don't think a government will create new projects and stuff like that. Most of the time they only need to allow businesses to accept crypto and provide a clear framework for retail users, and then anyone interested in crypto will likely use them. I'm not sure how to feel about CZ's praise though, since his company has been doing some shady moves here and there. I'd not be surprised if he starts criticizing Japan if they started demanding CZ and his company to provide more details related to their business. At the end of the day, if crypto stays they will need to regulate it, whether it includes Web3 projects or not.
1292  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Wallet for Android / Re: Does anyone use OBWallet (OBAndroid)? on: July 27, 2023, 06:08:47 AM
As far as I can tell, the app is still in developer beta, so I guess they don't really test it on other devices. They stated that the app should support Android 8+ 64 bits but I wouldn't be surprised if there are other limitations. It's really hard to tell why either since the error doesn't mention any reasons. Maybe you can try to log the error manually and see why it crashes?

There is no publicity either so it's not surprising that nobody knows or uses it. I'd rather wait until they release it publicly before trying to use them.
1293  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: how secured? on: July 27, 2023, 05:34:48 AM
Personally, if I can't be sure I understand how the tech work or verify the developer's claim, I'd rather not use it. They keep mentioning that it uses Samsung Knox as a base to provide a secure environment, but it also supports cloud backup which can be an issue regardless since it adds a new attack vector. I'm not even sure the Redmi secure option is really secure either considering Xiaomi phones are not that popular for privacy and security purpose. Since you mentioned you don't know how some of them work, I'd suggest looking at other options instead of risking your funds for some temporary convenience.
1294  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: CryptoDCA - App to DCA into Bitcoin and other coin on: July 27, 2023, 04:58:34 AM
Using a DCA broker usually costs you around 1,5-2% per trade but crypto exchanges usually have a lower trading fee between 0-0,25% (depending on various things). Our app can take advantage of those lower fees.
I'm not sure if inbuilt DCA tools are broker though, or is there something I'm missing? Are you referring to exchanges' extra fees when the user uses their DCA tools, not a broker that helps them make DCA trades? What about yours then? Will you charge for each transaction too or you're going to monetize solely on advanced features mentioned on your OP?
1295  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: USB Mining > ASIC on: July 27, 2023, 04:46:54 AM
To cover electricity and see some good earnings how many i need as a start?
There are tools to calculate stuff like this such as whattomine, assuming you know how to find out the necessary calculation variables such as hash rate, and so on as mentioned above. Treat it as a prediction since the variables will likely change when you start your mining activity. It is really hard to answer since you don't provide anything concrete to calculate. You'll likely get better suggestions if you can provide more data imo.
1296  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Faketoshi lost his appeal in Dr Craig Wright v Peter McCormack courtcase on: July 27, 2023, 04:31:17 AM
This is ridiculous! Who is funding his non-sense acts?
I believe his self-confidence is so high he's okay with lying as long as it gets him attention. I'm not sure what term can describe his behavior perfectly, maybe sociopath? It is clear that he's trying to get benefits by ignoring what's right or wrong and others' feelings as long as it fits his agenda.

My opinion in this matter is that the more people know that CSW is lying about being Satoshi, the better.
Sadly some people still believe in him for whatever reason. Some of them are definitely trolling, but there are others who genuinely fall for his tricks even after he's been exposed as a liar.
CMIIW.
1298  Local / Marketplace (Bahasa Indonesia) / Re: [Gratis] Jasa Konsultasi Spek Komputer (PC & Laptop) + Diskusi on: July 26, 2023, 05:13:14 AM
1299  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: ATM BITCOIN INDONESIA | Saya Terkejut Di Indonesia Pernah Ada! on: July 26, 2023, 04:33:28 AM

Sepertinya hanya proses seleksi bisnis seperti biasa kalau menurut ane.
1300  Local / Bahasa Indonesia (Indonesian) / Re: 5 Cara Mengajari Orang Awam Tentang Bitcoin on: July 26, 2023, 03:52:11 AM
Terjemahan subtitle nya rada aneh.
