1281  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions (Please discuss forum policy here.) on: June 12, 2011, 05:33:18 PM
Just found out I can't post replies to my own posts in the mining section nymore.why is this? I havent spammed ny1 on here.I only expect this to apply to known spammers not all new users.

Also I wanna know, how can I tell how many bitcoins I mined using GUIminer? cus Bitcoin client (official is running as server due to solo GPU mining as my CPU is worthless now even tho it's an OC'd core i7 920 CPU)because If I cant see my bitcoins then it's a wasted exercise for me and I can't seem 2 always get a straight answer sometimes so a new miner like me is now more put off than wen I 1st started this mining business.

My GPU's Oc'd to the max n I only get 36.6 Mhash/s max. It's ATi Radeon HD 4670.Can't rly afford to do much upgrading atm (due to time n possibly other stuff) so I guess that ppl with weaker GPUs wont get much out of this then.Shame. Core i7 only managed 5.6Mhash/s max Oc'd to ~3GHz with GUIminer.

1282  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Browser Based GPU Mining - Krad Miner - 1000X Javascript Speed - Multi GPU on: June 11, 2011, 08:48:03 PM
*Update* Desktop lag should be fixed. Let me know how it runs on your system..

*Update2* Multi GPU Support test...

if you have more than one Radeon, open a new browser tab and do this:

http://kradminer.com?device=1   (for the second card )

http://kradminer.com?device=2   (for the third card )

http://kradminer.com?device=3   (for the forth card ...)

I don't happen to have the GPU's to test this, but if one or two people can atleast tell me its working I can add it to the interface.

Thanks!

The hashrate maybe under-reported and bounce around a bit more however.

Firefox 4 required.

Tested on Windows 7 64Bit with ATI Radeon, and Linux 32bit with nvidia.
Report of Linux 64bit Nvidia did not work.

http://kradminer.com

This is Alpha, not even beta!
If your browser is slowing down, set aggression to 2-3. Work in progress on making it tamer.

Report anything you feel like reporting here. I also posted this in the development subforum, please forgive.

Cheers,

David

I love this idea. What is the link for single GPU use as I only have 1 GPU.It's the ATI Radeon HD 4670 Oc'd to the max at 775MHZ clock and 1135MHZ mem clock. My PC has:Win 7 pro x64. I installed and enabled web GL and WEb CL (I think) but when I run it,It says its running but is stuck on running yet with :"Mining Rig ATI RV730
0
MHash/s

0 KHash/s

Running"

I don't kno what im doing wrong.my mac has an Nvidia GT330M GPU.

Please help me get this working.
1283  Other / Obsolete (buying) / Re: Selling my bitcoins for paypal on: June 10, 2011, 10:53:20 AM
guess i'll have to wait till tomorrow to see if i actually get my coins.
Oh no, if you purchased BTC, and they showed up in your client, they're yours.

The seller is the one at extreme risk here.  Paypal is waging war against BTC, freezing assets.

I'd like to be able to sell my BTc when I get enough of them,I won't be using Paypal due to practices I don't agree with. is Moneybookers a safe bet? cus thats' wot I use. for buying and selling. maybe I could build a shop part yto my blog later on as well.

can u guys help me improve my blog. Here's the link:www.film240.wordpress.com

If u like it plz spread the word ok.

P.S.How do I intergrate BTC donation facility on my blog as wordpress.com doesn't like HTML embeds 4 sum reason
1284  Other / Obsolete (selling) / Re: Herbal & Natural Supliments for European Bitcoiners on: June 10, 2011, 10:49:36 AM
I noticed very recently that European regulatory commissions just banned a whole host of herbal supplements that have been safely used for thousands of years in varying levels of success to treat any condition you could think of, as part of Codex Alimentarius. This is going to make it harder (and more expensive) for a lot of people to maintain their health. A lot of people are enraged over this issue because it is a not so subtle act by the pharmaceutical industry in order to force people into either the synthetic market, or the newly regulated (read expensive & restricted) alternative therapies.

I am curious, if you are a European Bitcoiner - would you be interested in a service that ships these now unavailable supplements to you in exchange for Bitcoins? If that is the case please post here what types of supplements you use that you now can not find, brands, quantity, and if possible what you used to pay for it when it was available. I think this could potentially help keep some people healthier as well as grow the Bitcoin market. Please let me know!

I like this idea a lot.Is this an importing service for now restricted vitamins and nutritional supplements?
I hear that they're trying something similar in the US now to restrict them as well.I got this info from naturalnews a while back I think (can't remember exactly tho) but Bitcion would b a long overdue service 4 all of us if these restrictions keep coming in,today,it's supplements, tomorrow,it'll b something else they ban.
1285  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Announcing Bitcoin RPC Proxy on: June 10, 2011, 10:37:17 AM
Hi

I've just finished my first Bitcoin related project, an RPC proxy. The purpose of the application is to proxy requests from the various miners to a weighted lists of (possibly) remote servers.

This allows you to have your miners to do a set percentage of work for a pool, and the rest locally (for people who don't want to give up hope of finding a block all by themselves Grin)

Click here to download the app, it requires Java 1.6 (1.5 might work, but I didn't test it).
Click here to download the source if you don't trust random programs on the Internet Wink.

You'll need to edit the servers.txt file to include all the servers you want it to talk to, including usernames and passwords. Then point all your miners to localhost on port 8331, with no username or password.

Can this work for ppl who have errors like ;"Problem connecting to Bitcoin RPC" in hte GUIminer?

http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=10121.0 <- easy
the miner it'self - for windows use
guiminer
http://forum.bitcoin.org/index.php?topic=3878.0
for Mac - no idea TBH

the rpc password stuff is becase it  [bitcoin] needs to know how your conencting to it.

I manged to get htings working on this. The only issue left is the fact that I get a msg saying:"Problems communicating with bitcoin RPC"

What does this mean?
I'm using GUIMiner as this works on my PC.I hope that some1 whos more knowledgable on the suitable equivalent for the Mac can help with the mac client but with same requirements.
1287  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Help.my efforts are not going anywhere on: June 07, 2011, 11:52:38 AM
if you want to get some rewards then point your miners at a pool and get small daily rewards,
after a bit and you wnat to get serious then think about getting some GPU's for doing it,
you will [probably] not make BTC by mining solo - though you can get lucky and get 50 - but don't coount on it - look at running in a pool for a bit

Ok thanx 4 the info.Do you know of any pools that r easy to join with either the oficial client or an easy to use client thats 3rd party then?

I've tried all sorts of clients on my mac and PC and none of them work without complaining about an RPC issue or wotever their complaint is.Do you or ny1 know of a client that is most likely to work on the mac and PC?

I need the following from a client;
1.Must NOT use cmd lines or nything like that as I need easy usability
2.Must be able to work from the get go.i.e.no more complex setup like IP address, server ip address, ports e.t.c.I just want it to work like my mac does everyday
3.Must hav the ability to join pools easily
4.It doesn't need to b nything fancy but it has to be stable or works well
5.It should either be  CPU or GPU based
6.I need to be able to run multiple instances.i.e,I can run 1 CPU only based client and then run 1 GPGPU (GPU) based client at the same time on the same system

If you can do this for me ,that'd rly help me a lot.Did u guys check out that site I used?if so how did u get on with it?
1288  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Help.my efforts are not going anywhere on: June 07, 2011, 09:46:31 AM
I think this highlights a fundemental problem with all (distributed) computing projects like this,BOINC,SETI,e.t.c.This is the fact that unless you have access to a generator (still expensive to run unless u run a diesel generator with vegetable oil) or an off grid like power system that's solar/wind plus a huge battery plus inverter or 12V Magsafe air adaptor for us Mac users (which skips the invertor cost),you will still be using more elec than you get out of it,esp if electric rates are expensive where you live.

If you ran on totally free energy(my N900 is charged by solar plus a Powermonkey Explorer which stores the charge from solar for use at night of course),then you'd profit all the time, even with mediocre hardware (anything less than a Core i7 CPU or no GPU use setups)

When I looked at my results on both my Core i7 CPUs (Pc and Mac),they are both like:1708903 or something like this the best I had is 2105463 when it was mining my bitcoins for me on PC.MBP got no more than:1708903

I don't know if this is good or pretty poor considering I've been using this website for the mining as da clients just don't work for me:http://www.bitcoinplus.com/generate

The clients will generate loads of blocks but no BTC,so I used that site,n I at least get BTC even if CPU mining isn't the best, the website isnt the most efficient and the operator takes a cut from all mining Ops on the site.

If you like my tips, then you can show your appreciation by wither checking out my blog:www.film2240.wordpress.com  or by runnning this:http://www.bitcoinplus.com/generate?for=976760
1289  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Help.my efforts are not going anywhere on: June 06, 2011, 11:46:42 PM
Money can be made off this (maybe), but you have to do some research first into how to make it. Things will always be released, you should make sure to understand them before you use it though.

Anyway, best of luck! I hope you read up on bitcoins and come back sometime in the future!

Thing is I keep on reading on some sites about BC,but a lot of this info is complex n too ambigous 4 ppl like me so I'll be hanging hte gloves on this 1 even tho I got reasonable results on both my core i7 comps as both CPUs seem reasonable 4 a guy who's unwilling to spend money on upgrading his systems just for BC.I have good GPUs tho (not the top end but a reasonable thing) Nvidia GT330M on my MBP and ATI radeon HD 4670 on my PC.Both systems have Open GL,Open CL and all necessary GPGPU things (CUDA on MBP and Stream on my PC)

I'd love to hear ny success that ppl hav had so far with this thing cus surely im not the only 1 who thinks this whole thing is prone to many issues.
1290  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Help.my efforts are not going anywhere on: June 06, 2011, 11:36:56 PM
1) You don't need to hide your bitcoin address.

2) It is very unlikely you will ever get anything for your efforts if you just use the client. Unless electricity is free, you are wasting money with the generating coins option in the client.

I use a website that actually generates them successfully but is not the most efficient at doing so as the website operator takes a small cut but I at least get something for the efforts.I never rly knew that this whole thing is just a waste of time.I think I'll go back to living a normal life to the fullest instead of going for promises of making a little extra money.

Here's the site:http://www.bitcoinplus.com/

And Yes electric in my area costs a lot as well.I do wonder how ppl can benefit at all from this thing.I honestly think that issues like this should be fixed b4 releasing this stuff into the wild frankly, that way ppl like me wont get caught out by things like this.

Thanks for reply tho

As for hte new replies as well.I don't mind working a little but when the info available is too confusing 4 ppl like me then I question how can ppl expect this thing to rly take off.I used a GPU client but that kept failing on my systems and it doesn't work on my Mac so I decided to tolerate with the slow mining of my 2 Core i7 CPUs ( on my Pc and 1 on my mac)
1291  Bitcoin / Mining / Help.my efforts are not going anywhere on: June 06, 2011, 11:24:45 PM
Hi,
I've been using Bitcoin clients on both my mac and Pc for hte past few days now and it seems to be that a lot of blocks have been generated by both my systems yet the following problems exist:
1.My efforts on hte 2 computers haven't combined into 1 thing and therefore the rewards Im entitled to havent yet appeared.
2.Even when my systems generate blocks,it still says 0.00 in hte balance as shown by the screenshot.

I joined in this BC thing to help me get some extra money by mining BCs.

P.S.How do you create your own pools/How do you set both your systems to the pool you create?and how can I combine the wallets of my 2 systems into 1 so that both systems can work from 1 another instead of having the clutter of 2 wallets on 2 different systems? If there's an e-wallet that can do this for me help me set this up so that both my comps can work from it?

thank you

1292  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Generating Bitcoins with your video card (OpenCL/CUDA) on: June 06, 2011, 12:25:01 PM
Is there a client that can generate BC with GPU and CPU working together to speed things up even more, that is available on the Mac as well as the PC?

1293  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Need to put my 2 computers to work on: June 06, 2011, 12:14:08 PM
Hi! The beginners guide at the top of this forum is probably a good place to start.

You don't need to 'connect your computers together'. All you need to do is download some mining software on both, join a pool, and point the mining software at the pool.

Mining is the act of attempting to 'discover' bitcoins by doing something computationally hard. Generating bitcoins is considered mining, but there are better programs to use than the client. Again, look at the beginner's guide.

Ok,thats good.I'm used to running apps that require connecting 2 computers together via Apple's Qmaster or some other thing. As for joining a pool, how can I go about this?(unless that guide covers it)

At least I don't have to worry about connecting my 2 computers together then as this is sorted out by joining the pools instead.Thanks. Is there a client that can fully utilise both GPU and CPU at the same time?

Also how long should i expect to wait b4 recieving my bitcoins as both my comps have computed over 150000 bloks approx yet still no sign of the bitcoins.

Thank you so far
P.S.can u plz link me to the beginners guide as I cant really find it easily? (cus Im new to this)
1294  Bitcoin / Mining / Need to put my 2 computers to work on: June 06, 2011, 11:43:03 AM
hello,
I'm new to hte Bitcoin and therefore this forum as well.I've been looking all over the web and cant find a clear and simple anwser to my problem.

I want the following:
1.I want to connect my 2 computers together to generate my bitcoins much faster through the bitcoin clients
2.I have a macbook pro and a PC.How do I get these 2 clients working together on the same task for me?
3.What is mining and how it this defined?
4.Is generating Bitcoins from the clients defined as mining?

Thank you
