Yes it will happen within 1 year of OP posting date, 31 march 2016 2016 will be the year of bitcoin again like 2013 was
Just curious... what is your reasoning behind this? Is it because of those major banks like Barclays using the blockchain?

Well, i have 04hours and 17 minutes to wait till my first payout.
Good luck! I'm sure you'll be fine, the site is completely honest with it's users.. best advice to give would be to refer more friends that use bitcoin to this site and allow the user base to grow even more. Not to mention right now HD is giving 15% for referrals (which to me is a little high).. but I mean hey, might as well take advantage of that while you can right?? That's way i did my first "invest" on this site, looks ok so far but for how long? cold be days or weeks. I am lurking here around some weeks now without register myself. I think 5% referrals would be good anough i gues. But what next, reinvest or move to the next one? I would reinvest... but I would do it in small increments (ex: .1 BTC every 12-24 hours) ... that way there won't be any ticking time bomb payouts such as 5 BTC guy's payout coming up. Those type of investments are what could totally ruin a site like this... Also I think we (or honestdoubler) needs to come to a decision about people investing more than 2 BTC at a time... I think anomie has a really good point that if someone were trying to go above that amount, the site needs to let the user choose an "investment plan" by doing small increments over a period of time. Yeah, that guy who tried to deposit coins onto the site tried to do so with no miners fees and he's screwed because essentially he lost his coins because he doesn't have any confirmations on his transaction... Because of that he essentially got everyone else's payments "stuck" because the site doesn't allow any other payments after an investment is still stuck trying to be confirmed... only a matter of time before HD will resolve the issue and the ponzi train will keep truckin' along

HonestDoubler,
You have a nice platform here, and if you would add certain measures to make sure it doesn't crash, this could be running for a very long time.
how about putting a deposit limit on, or some kind of script that splits up large deposits and puts them on a separate plan?
For example, deposits over 2btc go on a kind of multi-payout plan. a 4btc deposit would then take 200 hours to be fulfilled.
This will stop the over-eagar people from crashing the game from the rest of us, and, in the long term, assure your profits remain consistent.
-
I'm not sure if my particular suggestion is entirely practical, but you get the point...
Thanks for my payout!
Fingers crossed that this one lasts longer! But it can only do with some deterrents for over-eagar people from dumping 5, 10, 15btc deposits and consequentially causing the premature crash of what has the potential to be a decent service.
I agree with this post... along with this, I was thinking that we can drop down the total referral percentage to 10%, 15% is just way to generous I feel like but with 10% everyone still has really nice incentive to keep inviting people to this website. As for the error in the site, I just hope that the people who expect HonestDoubler to be honest at all times will hold the same value of ethics to them as well... *sigh* one can only hope.

About sending transactions with radio frequencies, imagine, the first transaction to be bounced by a radio, on to a Bitcoin Satelite and broadcasted. You could use a small radio to broadcast the TX to a command station which would later bounce it to the Satelite, making it more viable to everyone.
Yeah this could be useful for 3rd world countries that don't have internet, other than that I don't really see any other cause or need for this to be successful. I'm not trying to rain on everyones parade in this thread, I'm just having trouble seeing the benefits...

It is also Possible to Send a Bitcoin transaction over a Radio Frequency. by other words. you could literally bunch a Transaction with a radio onto the satellite and the satellite would bounce it to a computer which would pic up the code a broadcast it.
(you wouldn't need a internet connection to send a transaction, just a radio which is capable of bouncing it of the satellite)
pretty cool
Yeah I agree, it's a pretty cool idea and that process itself would be pretty cool... but idk if it's $120K cool. Using a satellite to transfer funds over radio frequency itself is an awesome concept, I just don't think that it will have any use because if bitcoin is a internet currency in general, there is no need for radio frequencies to be used because the internet isn't going anywhere... I guess I'm just not seeing the full capabilities of this yet, will be monitoring the progress though! Any news is good news for bitcoin, the more public bitcoin becomes the better it is for the currency in general.

Right now Bitcoin is not having any competition. I also believe that no competition from inside of the crypto world has to be feared. I'm way more concerned about the financial institutions who are really putting in lots of effort and money in Blockchain technology. They have the financial power, the influence in politics, media and a huge customer base to manipulate to use their own coming crypto schemes.
I noticed that all the reasons why you think that the financial institutions are going to "manipulate" the blockchain in some way, are all the reasons why bitcoin is still powerful today. Bitconers have financial power because of the price of a btc/usd, we already have a pretty large customer base as of right now (I know it's not as big as the banks), and the media are still talking about us and politics are influenced because of us because of the possible use of using the blockchain for voting systems. Idk, I have a feeling the bitcoin community has a larger say so than what we give our selves credit for. If the banks are going to try and use the blockchain for their own online "coin" they copy, regular people out there would have no idea what they are trying to do and probably pull out of that bank. As for potential competitors for bitcoin with other altcoins, there is another possibility for this... but that's not entirely a bad thing. Monero offers more security and fungibility which could become a thing that governments and big businesses use because of the anonymity and the amount of security that comes from that, but also allows people to view the transactions with a view key that allows taxing, there fore, mass adoption. And it's not like one coin would "take over" another coin for mass adoption... I believe that there can be multiple crypto currencies out there that offer different capabilities. Monero for security, maybe litecoin for fast(er) everyday transactions (?), and bitcoin for the standard currency that pretty much everyone will use... Not to say that there won't be another coin in the next year or two that offers something completely different and then that will be on that list as well. Just my two cents though

Am I the only one that is thinking this?!
What benefit does putting a satellite for a bitcoin node into space do? What would people be getting back in return for being apart of this project, etc.?

Bitcoin is like the Internet and the personal computer. Welcome to the next revolution Bitcoin is the way to go and more and more people are talking about it.
I'm going to have to disagree and agree with your statement. It's not like the internet because of the fact that there was only one true internet when it was being developed and will only be one true internet and no other "alternative" entities. Personal computers? Sure. When you consider all the name brands of computers now and days that is true because there is alternatives to the microsoft, mac, etc.

I know what you feel dude, i'm also lose so many bitcoin on gambling site like dice and bustabit. that's why now i rarely play dice and bustabit, now i'm betting on sportsbook because it's more predicted and more fair than them.
Wouldn't you feel more better about yourself if you lost though to an investing company/site in this case? Rather than take it in chance? I feel like true gambling sites like casino games like primedice are fun when you play it in moderation, but if your trying to make a buck off of no effort, I would go with investing rather than true gambling... you could actually have a chance if you research well enough into what you are getting into.

Everyone should decide for themselves.
I personally do not trust them given the fact that they did not have multi-sig in place to hold each party involved for large (even medium) size transactions.
$1.8 million transfer warrants a first class ticket to any place on planet earth where your CEO and/or CFO and other important people are to verify those types of transactions FACE TO FACE.
Well honestly, I think a majority of users (I wouldn't be one of them) will think the same way we're thinking right now. It's just a shame to see a US southeast company like BitPay to go down hard like this due to a thick headed move; just because the southeast is where I reside... I guess that's a stupid reason for me to be sad about this, but I love my area of domain... good fried chicken and sweet tea here

Wait, so was it ever established that the hologram wasn't peeled off or what? What's the asking price? I'm confused..? im 99% sure its not peeled. I will offer 1.1btc for it. come on now, 1.5 BTC and ship it to me . Just curious, can you tell me when you acquired this coin and from whom (PM is fine)? Lol, I didn't realize we were in the auction section. I'm sure wheresmycoin will post asking price and respond to all of our questions sooner or later... Just finnished reading this news, well, it sounds too good to be true. It seems as if BitPay's CFO and CEO are using 'a hacker,' as a scapegoat for the loss of over $1.8 million worth of BTC. With BitPay following similar trails as the Mt. Gox scandal, can they and their integrity truly be trusted in the foreseeable future? Source: BizjournalsNo... Well they shouldn't be atleast imo... When you're dealing with millions of dollars with peoples money (or cryptos for that matter) you should be a little more secure than using your companies email address to sign up for some random thing you received from a random person.. That's just completely ignorant. I'm sure someone else will fill BitPay's void in a couple of weeks/month max.

Very nice video! I love that finally major banks are taking into consideration the power of the blockchain and it's potential uses... Saw this in another thread today and thought it relates to this topic. http://www.coindesk.com/jpmorgan-ceo-expresses-optimism-about-blockchain-tech/Though the CEO is remaining somewhat skeptical about all of this, it's a huge improvement... and would be a huge step forward, especially in the US if JPMorgan jumps on board with this. I like this video, its a bit short on details but I think that it can pique the interest of Bitcoin in some way. It's really lacking details for the end user but otherwise shed some light and explain a few things, since most people that I know just steer clear from it saying Bitcoin is shady, a scam, or a criminal's method of transferring money. GG media? =/
Yeah, but you have to think... most of people now and days have the attention span of a mosquito. So a short, and to the point video that explains the implications of what the blockchain is about and what it could mean for the future of businesses, stocks, banks, voting, etc. is a very good thing.

The comparison should be digital currency vs internet. Bitcoin is just the first incarnation of the idea and it's going to produce countless offshoots that we haven't even thought of yet, most of which won't have much to do with money at all. Maybe it'll continue to be the daddy but it's far too early to tell.
Indeed, to say that bitcoin is going to be the "internet" of internet currency is kind of a stretch when you consider that the internet when it was being developed and adopted by the masses didn't have any alternatives to compete with... it was just the internet. Myspace was really "the daddy" of social media, but look where that ended up... only time will tell what happens, it's an exciting time in the crypto world that's for sure. That's an interesting video... haven't seen that before, thanks for sharing!

You should start by adding the signature suitable for your rank before even going to the uid step.
Yeah and make sure that the signature campaign of choice is accepting "members" ... If you're looking at just the higher paying signature campaigns, most of them only accept "Sr. Members" and up, but then again maybe not.. haven't looked at the sig campaigns in a while. Also you might want to move this thread to the New & Beginners section of this forum... not really a discussion about bitcoin in general.
