1321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Mnemonic is no longer safe? on: October 20, 2022, 10:40:06 PM

There might be some part of the story that we didn't know since OP just conclude right away that it's because of mnemonics being not safe. OP should look at all sides of the case starting from the hardware/devices that were used or might be his friend did some unintentional action that is not aware of.

Technically, mnemonics are safe and can't be breached that just easy. Although I'm not really aware of this Coin98 wallet and I'm confused about how on earth your friend ended up with a wallet that I can't even consider as popular or reputable.
1322  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Currency should be Integrated into School Curriculum on: October 19, 2022, 11:55:48 PM
And I honestly need your contribution and your thoughts towards this. I honestly think crypto currency, BTC and ETH for example. Should be adopted globally and accepted by everyone. Thanks

I think it's better to integrate the whole blockchain idea and not just focus on crypto-currency.

I don't see a reasonable reason why crypto-currencies alone should be part of the curriculum. With blockchain as the main subject, it will now also covers the cryptocurrency stuff and other related things.

Learning BTC, Learn ETH, Learn, etc., etc.  - these don't need their own subject.

If this be the case, Can we find a way to adopted Crypto Currency as a Subject and integrate it into our school curriculum, or better still as topic and integrate it into Economy's.

Yes, it can be integrated into the Economy Subject as you mentioned. Much better to put it that way.

Can we find a way to make it possible? Actually, expect a country that will consider doing that once the community there is now being more vocal in crypto.
1323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: recommendation for gambling platform on: October 19, 2022, 11:47:35 PM
Hi guys currently I'm looking for a site to play using crypto since I've stocked up quite a bit any recommendations?

Referring to some ANN threads here is always a good reference. You can always check if the site is good once you read some recent discussions in that said ANN thread. From there, you can now check the site itself and see if you will have an interest in their offered games or what.

You will receive lots of recommendations that's why accompanied it with your own research. Again, reading the site's ANN thread here is a must. If you encounter a gambling site that doesn't have a discussion thread here, ignored it even how legit they are. It's good for a newbie like you to just only refer to real experiences and reviews from other users here.
1324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest Heavily ALT now on: October 19, 2022, 11:42:16 PM
There will be more and more web3 projects , AI projects will come. So be alert on some potential brand new projects.

It all depended on our own factors. There are lots of "what if" in the process.

We all know that for new projects to somehow expect a good startup, the market should also be on a positive trend or in a bullish way.

Well then, that's your analysis though and if you think that's the better action to do now, keep it that way.
1325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 19, 2022, 11:39:25 PM
And to add, he played 78 freaking games last season.

And in that 78 games last season, he played all as a starting lineup. Still athletic and quick at the current point of his career.

That's why there are some comments that to fully utilize Westbrook, now that LeBron James and Anthony Davis are back in action, Coach Ham should not try to do too many experiments regarding the player's rotation, especially the first squad. Let Westbrook just do the usual.

Actually, Westbrook just become trendy to most people because he was in the Lakers or specifically with LBJ. During the time he was on the Washington Wizards, the level of criticism is not that much compared to when he was signed by the Lakers.
1326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Want KYC at Crypto Casinos During Registration? on: October 19, 2022, 11:33:09 PM
My question to the Bitcointalk community is this one: if it were up to you, would you keep the current status quo and have crypto casinos brand themselves as no KYC, only to ask for identity verification during withdrawal requests or big wins, or would you rather be required to complete KYC during the registration process and decide there and then whether you want to do that or not?

Asking KYC during the registration process in a "crypto-casino" is something that I don't really like. With lots of crypto-gambling sites, complying with KYC at several of those (in case I want to try the platform) is to hassle aside from the fact that I didn't even know if I will keep on playing on that site for long.

I understand that most crypto-gambling sites are now slowly hit by the regulation but as much as possible KYC should just be asked depending on some circumstances and that should be written clearly in the Terms and Conditions, not in the registration process.
1327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 17, 2022, 11:43:43 PM
I would say, it depends since not everyone are into gambling, they may like his songs but that doesn't mean they like to play gambling too. Just like how these celebrities advertise their products like soap, shampoo, food, etcetera, you probably don't want to copy all of that just because they were your favorite celebrity but there are some people who would like to be like them that to the extent they will copy everything about of their favorite celebrity just like MJ the way he look and how he dance on the stage.

Things are also different when it comes to gambling. People can follow that celebrity in those you mentioned examples but here in gambling, or specifically sports betting, we should know what we are doing clearly and not just follow anyone's pick even if it will come from our personal favorite.

It's difficult to imagine for me that some will put money on sports betting and they don't even know if their respective bets are good since they just followed it.
1328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 17, 2022, 11:40:16 PM
We are underestimating him too much, Green is a star player for a reason, of course, he will still be effective in other teams because of the coaching staff will make sure that once they acquire him they have a system that will fit for him, imagine giving him a max salary and not using him effectively, that's insane.

That's not underestimating but a valid analysis.

Green is more effective clearly when he's with the Splash Brothers. He already used giving these 2 a clear shot. I'm also with others that he might struggle on other teams, especially since his trade will happen at this point of his career where we can assume he's not already in his prime.

Understanding the team's system is easy but it's not that simple to execute for some players especially Green that whose entire career is playing for the Warriors.
1329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 17, 2022, 11:36:07 PM
Sorry for asking but I don't know if the guest team is qualified to be the champion at this conference.

That's my question too before and I think someone raised that question here.

I think they are eligible to win the championship this conference and if that happened, that's the first time we will see a non-Filipino champion in a Filipino basketball league lol. With SMB losing recently against the Dragons, their chance of meeting up again will be after eliminations, maybe in quarterfinals, semis, and Finals.

I read an article before that Kume Marcial said that Bay Area Dragons were eligible for the championship in Governors Cup. PBA right now is currently running the Commissioners Cup so I will assume the same eligibility applied.
1330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 17, 2022, 11:28:46 PM
But I think this fight can still be salvage and be made for next year, for sure the money is going to be to big that both camp can't refuse it, and maybe they are just looking for the perfect time to have this fight. We compare this to Floyd vs Manny, lots of stumbling block but in the end it got to be made.

This is what I think too.

This fight is not literally dead where chances are really zero from happening.

It's just that, we can already assume that this fight won't happen this year but at least have a great chance to happen next year. However, if both boxers will now fight other opponents instead this year, they should both win as obviously, no more Crawford vs Spence in the future will be negotiated.
1331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Akaho - December 3 on: October 17, 2022, 11:25:38 PM
So Casimero is already weight up to super bantamweight since there's no way for him to fight at bantamweight,

And that move up by Casimero might give the possibility for him to meet the expected undisputed bantamweight champion, Naoya Inoue who is likely to move up too on Super Bantamweight/Junior featherweight once he wins against Paul Butler in December.

This fight shouldn't be a problem for Casimero even though he is inactive for 16 months.

I hope though that this time, Casimero's camp should now be able to avoid those recent problems why he was being stripped out of his WBO title.
1332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is It An Easy Transition From Gamer To Gambler In Casino. on: October 16, 2022, 10:44:46 PM
But still, do you consider yourself a gamer if you mostly play on minigames such as lootbox opening and gacha?

If I have to answer this question, yes, of course, I'm still a gamer that way.

The purpose of spending that money on loot box or gacha is to try luck in getting a good item to improve our character.

I don't see why it can't be considered a gamer just because they are taking their chances mostly on gachas. For sure while playing mostly those minigames or the same kind, they are also spending time grinding. That should be obvious.
1333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be influenced by your favourite celebrity? on: October 16, 2022, 10:39:21 PM

No, simply because I'm a sports bettor already for a long. But even before I started placing bets on my favorite sport, I already have knowledge about those leagues. I can even assume that I might even better compare to that celebrity in terms of sports betting, well of course depends on the sports and who's the favorite celebrity I'm referring to.

Besides, it's not looked good to me if a person will just try gambling because they saw their favorite celebrity doing it.

It should be "our money, our rule, our ways". The real interest in sports betting should be there.
1334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Crawford vs Spence on: October 16, 2022, 10:33:37 PM
What I'm curious about is why does Crawford still holding on to this fight? It's almost clear that the opposite camp is playing games on him to make their chances on winning go higher, in my opinion, Crawford must fight another opponent while this undisputed fight is not on play.

Because the negotiation can't still be considered a 100% failure.

Even though there's a low chance for this fight to happened, there might be some things that are still being discussed to truly make it officially fail, or who knows the other way around which is positive news. They can't just go negotiating on another match that easily.

Don't worry though as even before, both boxers have a "backup plan" if this fight is not materialized.
1335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Naoya Inoue vs Paul Butler - Undisputed Bantamweight Bout - December 13 on: October 16, 2022, 10:27:16 PM
I don't see Inoue looking for a knockout against Butler, also that's not Inoue's style, for me he will do other more relevant things, Inoue has a very good reputation, I don't see him going to win like that,

I'm confused by what you said that since Inoue has a very good reputation, probably he's not looking forward to Knocking Out Paul Butler? And that's not Inoue's style to KO his opponent?  Actually, he is just doing his usual style and if one of his punches send his opponent kissing the canvass, then he just did a great job of KOing his opponent.

Anyways, what are those other relevant things you are referring to that Inoue will do instead of looking for a knockout win?

I'm not sure though if I got clearly the picture of your statement so please correct me with that. Cheesy
1336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling, tourism and legal gambling age for gamblers around the world. on: October 16, 2022, 10:19:12 PM
Las Vegas is famous when it comes to gambling games. Almost the majority of people who went here are really rich people, as far as I know, please correct me if I'm saying something wrong. And what you said is also true that different regulations apply in each country when it comes to operating gambling.

And most countries are making lottery and casinos legal, whether it's land-based or online. But anyway, if that is one of your dreams, let's let time tell you the answer to that matter. Smiley

Anyways, if a person is traveling to a place where really known for something popular, it's obvious that they should visit the highlights of that travel.

For example, Las Vegas and as you mentioned, is famous for casinos, even a non-gambler will surely try to visit one of the casinos there.

But for a place that has another attraction or is well-known for, don't prioritize looking for a casino there just because you/we are a gambler.
1337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 16, 2022, 10:14:13 PM
The import of SMB has been tested today, and it's only proves that he can't carry the team. I'm also a SMB fan but I got disappointed with how the team played today, not sure but I don't see any aggressions to anyone for any possible rally to come back instead they just let the lead to balloon..

There's an attempt to make a rally but the Bay Area Dragons are just successful in maintaining their lead.

The Dragons have a strong message after winning the game against SMB about their 1st defeat since playing in the country, "We learned from that loss which was nice to see and we got better against a quality team,” and that fuels their eagerness to beat another top team in the league which is San Miguel Beermen.

However, there should be no "what if" if Fajardo is there for the SMB.
1338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: October 16, 2022, 09:28:46 PM

If only Draymond Green expressed his concern over his desire for the max contract prior to signing a 4-year $100 million in 2020-21, maybe things today might have changed. Asking for such kind of huge contract at this point in his career is really a no-brainer to grant. Now entering his post-prime period, he is even lucky that his current contract is still considered one of the good contracts out there providing his stats is not that appealing anymore. Being a team advisor, especially to young cores is not a factor.

I'm sure Draymond Green won't exercise his player option next year and will finish his contract with the Warriors until becoming a UFA. I'm also speculating that we won't see any trades involving him in the off-season next year.
1339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Split the prize or Reroll? on: October 16, 2022, 08:41:29 PM
From the point of view of the mathematical theory of probability, both options are beneficial to the player.

It will be "beneficial" if the risk amount successfully doubled but how about if the result turned bad?

The moment the chosen number was nailed, that's already a sure and guaranteed prize. There's no need to risk it more just to meet that "beneficial" stage.

But yes, there are risk-takers or those who don't actually care if they lose such an amount. For that, good luck then.
1340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 16, 2022, 08:29:06 PM
Did Pacquiao actually said that? Or is it just a writer who made up some stories to get an attention? Because I really don't think Manny Pacquiao is that dumb to consider fighting an undisputed boxer in what was toutred as the most challenging division. Crawford is already hard to defeat and the same goes for Spence. Let's not forget that Ugas defeated Pacquiao while Spence haven't had the hard time.

If you will read the article, he just answered the question but to make things clear, there's no plan for him about that from the very beginning. That's why he responded with "Why not? If that’s possible?". It happened at the press conference on his upcoming exhibition match.

Personally for me and as I mentioned, it's better for Pacquiao not to return to an official fight. After all, he already cemented his legacy.

Besides, the supposed unification fight between Spence Jr vs Crawford is now in jeopardy this year and likely close to being a failed negotiation.
