1361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 19, 2021, 11:09:03 AM
DC is the same team that is chasing big totals like they are nothing and got screwed recently by RR. Not a single team has been consistent so far. Even RCB needed a good deal of luck to win some of their matches.

The Indian pitches have become a nightmare for both the players and the punters. Winning this pool would need an insane amount of luck this time around.

You need to understand that the Delhi Capitals are playing without two of their most important players. They are missing their best batsman (Shreyas Iyer) and the best bowler (Anrich Nortje). No other team has been as negatively impacted by player absence such as the DC. Kagiso Rabada performs the best when he bowls in tandem with Nortje. In the absence of Nortje, Rabada has been unimpressive so far. And from what we saw yesterday, it is very clear that Steven Smith is unable to fill the vacuum created by the absence of Iyer.
1362  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk name once again used to fool people by hackers! on: April 19, 2021, 10:55:15 AM
Well that is really expected if you are one big industrial tycoon and celebrity. People will simply continue using their names to fool many. I would say that in order for you to go and learn what these celebs are really trying to say, you need to be sure that you only stay on their own social media accounts or their legit websites if they do not have social media of their own. It is hard to track down and arrest these fraudsters but at least you do your part to stay out of their way.

These sort of things happen when logical thinking gets dominated by greed. It is really simple. If Elon Musk want to donate Bitcoin to someone, then why should he ask the recipients to first send coins to his wallet? I read the story in BBC about an European loser spending his entire BTC stash worth half a million USD to the scammers. When you are dealing with such huge amounts of money, don't you think that you need to verify the details first?
1363  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crazy Dogecoin run 100x in 2 years on: April 19, 2021, 10:35:57 AM
Most of people are bullish and they value doge to be worth more than $1 and it's definitely not only fomo but people believing dogecoin just gonna go up again and again due to elon and they just need to stash their doge in their wallet tightly and just let it be
Even right now doge instead go up 20% within interval of 24 hour I don't believe it could get dumped so easily, if there's any dip people gonna buy it immediately and you know so many people out there waiting for their entry at the dips. But in my opinion, the price of $0.3 and above is kinda risky considering the characteristic of this coin. I mean, if what makes people buying it is elon's shill, what's stopping elon from dumping the market by also make a fud about doge.

Always keep in mind one simple thing. If a coin can go up by 6000% due to one single tweet, it can also go down by that much from a tweet or a news event. And I don't know why so many people are saying that Elon is pumping the coin. Elon mentioned about DOGE in one or two tweets and that's it. He never said that it's technology is good, or asked anyone to invest in it. What's going on in the market right now is pure madness.
1364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquiao offered $10 million to fight Terence Crawford on: April 19, 2021, 10:20:23 AM
As I remembered from the previous years, Pacquiao is about to retired and end his boxing career due to his mom Mommy Dionisia is worried every time he is in the boxing ring. Well I guess it is just a rumor. For me at Pacquiao's age, he already made a good name and a good career. He already earned a lot of money. I think he is around 40 plus on the present time and I think he already did a good job. Health is very important. Every punch that he may received especially in his head is not good. Instead of pushing that fight, maybe it is better to focus on serving Filipino being a senator or being a President if he will win if he run on the next election. Being his fellow Filipino I am just concern on his health but I know I am not in a position to say this.

Pacquaio tried really hard to get a rematch with Floyd, but unfortunately for him that never materialized. After that he really tried hard for a match at Las Vegas with a decent opponent, but that too is in doubt given the pandemic situation. He knows that he has less than 12 months of career remaining and that's the reason why he is not very keen on the fight with Terence Crawford. He wants to fight a stronger opponent at Las Vegas, rather than taking on Crawford in middle east.
1365  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money laundering via BTC on: April 19, 2021, 10:10:28 AM
Tax is a good thing and evading it means that you are not bringing back something into the community, it is natural that the government is going to hunt down money launderers because those taxes could be used to build projects that will benefit the many, I understand if some launder because the government is corrupt but with you evading taxes, you should at the least bring something back in the community.

Tax is a good thing? Who told you that? Nowadays, most of the tax money is being used to wage wars abroad and to pay the most unproductive members of the society. I am not in favor of tax evasion, but just saying that over-glorifying the tax collection is not necessary. If the tax structure is fair, then no one would be in favor of evading taxes. But when it becomes a way of punishing the successful people and rewarding the unproductive individuals, then it's purpose is put to question.
1366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 1 Million BNB Burnt today on: April 19, 2021, 09:22:57 AM
All that burning and price didn't actually improve, though! I mean, of course now markets are recovering and alts aren't far behind in improving from their weekend standing.

But BNB has always been burning supply regularly. Not sure if the effect will always be evident with every new burn.

Meanwhile, NFT markets I see on BNB are spiking.

The exchange rate hasn't gone up because BNB is already overpriced. During the last few weeks, the prices went up by manytimes. On top of that, Coinbase had a rather disappointing listing last week. That will have some (negative) impact on the BNB prices. And worse still, COIN may dip further today, due to the bloodbath we had in the cryptocurrency market during the last few days. And again, this will put a lot of pressure on BNB.
1367  Economy / Economics / Re: Raising the stock market after Covid-19 on: April 19, 2021, 09:10:46 AM
bitcoin is currently making headlines in the stock market, because of its fantastic price increase. this makes crypto the favorite trade. but we also have to study its characteristics first before deciding to invest in it
It is taking the attention of many stock market traders and investors because of its performance. I have a personal friend who's into stocks and asked me about crypto and he's getting interested on it because he has said that there's more gain and action into this market.

And as he asks me if I've got a stock, I said no, I've chosen crypto over stocks because I've seen that I can take advantage of its volatility which I can tolerate.

The boundary between cryptocurrency and stocks is getting vague now, especially after the listing of the Coinbase stock in NASDAQ. Already there are multiple cryptocurrency based ETFs trading in various exchanges (although NASDAQ has so far rejected such listings). And in future, we can expect major cryptocurrency players such as Binance, Bitmain and Poolin to list themselves in various stock exchanges (and if I am not wrong, Bitmain has already filed for IPO).
1368  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: An unconfirmed tweet caused a $288 billion fall in bitcoin market value today on: April 19, 2021, 06:53:50 AM
Things like that often happen here in crypto, the bear market that is. However, the news about the US treasury department must be confirmed if true in the quickest of time possible. We're talking about billions of losses here caused by a tweet that isn't even confirmed if true. Someone has to do it so no further FUD happens and so no more people FOMO out of bitcoin.

Even here in India, a similar rumor about a potential ban by the government was spread a few months back. The rumor was confirmed, when the proposed bill was uploaded to the parliament website. But there was a massive social media campaign against the proposed bill and the finance minister didn't presented it during the budget session. The danger is still not over, but those who sold their coins in panic are regretting about their decision now.
1369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk stop messing up the crypto market on: April 19, 2021, 06:19:03 AM
Doge coin pumped when Elon Musk tweets about doge coin. I cannot understand why doge coin is pumping.  Why you are pumping a shit coin to moon. There are many good projects in the market . Please give attention to these projects. These projects can give you good results.

It is not juts Elon Musk. A lot of celebrities have tweeted about Dogecoin and this has resulted in pumps on several instances. Obviously many of these celebrities were owning DOGE and they gained form the pump that resulted from their tweets. Elon's case is different. He don't own any DOGE in his wallet and although he has tweeted about this coin, he hasn't recommended it to anyone or claimed that it is a good coin to invest in.
1370  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid virus 2021 on: April 19, 2021, 06:05:04 AM
they think this virus will always exist as long as there is no vaccine that can really break the chain of spread of this virus.  They are certainly tired of living with all the limitations set by the government so that many ignore health protocols, but even so this virus cannot be underestimated, it can be infected by everyone without any indication symptoms.  Even so, everyone certainly needs a normal life as usual and must be able to fight this virus, but don't panic and stress too much in the face of this pandemic because someone's mindset can certainly turn things around to face this pandemic.

During the initial phases no one took the virus seriously and that is the reason why we are in such bad state now. When the vaccine production began, many of the countries initially refused to enter in to production agreements. So the manufacturers scaled down their plans to produce large number of doses. After the second wave, there was a dip in the number of infections and many of the countries around the world thought that the pandemic was coming to an end.
1371  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 19, 2021, 05:55:18 AM
Guys not much into cricket but I thought why not have some fun. It's between two teams only. Head or tail LOL

But to my surprise in the first round all gone south for me 😂

Last few days I was busy so could not even log into the forum obviously could not select my picks. But a few minutes ago I checked my superbru and discovered 3 points next to me lol
I should have continued not making picks 😆

Don't feel bad.. even those with good knowledge of the tournament are struggling now. There have been a lot of upsets, especially with top teams such as Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders facing defeat. On the other hand, less fancied teams such as Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore are doing well in a relative sense. It has been a very unpredictive tournament so far. Hopefully we'll have more luck in the remaining rounds.
1372  Economy / Economics / Re: Janet Yellen to call for unified global corporate tax rate on: April 18, 2021, 04:36:00 PM
You are talking about the Laffer curve, the concept is accepted as true but economists are always arguing about what is its actual shape, governments seem to think that they can push taxes higher and higher and that they are going to get more revenue, but as you said it comes to a point in which people begin to think about whether it is worth for them to keep working so hard when they are getting so little out of it, in that case it is better to do something else that you enjoy and not work as hard, very high taxes like the ones we are seeing today are one of the reasons why the economy is in such a bad shape.

Agreed. Although I don't think that individuals in large numbers will move from one country to another due to high tax rates, in the long term it will only make the employees unproductive. Also, before Yellen talks about a unified global tax rate, she should look towards unifying income tax within the United States. Because it differs from state to state. In states like California, the combined state+federal income tax is >50% for the top most group, while in Republican states such as Texas and Wyoming, it is 37%.

And the irony is that California is bankrupt, due to incompetent and corrupt handling of the tax revenue, while TX is in a relatively better position.

1373  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 18, 2021, 04:24:30 PM
Benchoo... Wankhede curators creating confusion in every game by changing wickets. This is the same pitch where Punjab faced the humiliating collapse.

You know about the nature of the pitch when bowlers like Mohammad Shami and Kagiso Rabada goes for more than 10 runs per over. So far the only bowler who got his act right seems to be Ravichandran Ashwin (28 runs from 4 overs). Everyone else went for more than 8 runs per over. And so far in this edition of the IPL, the foreign pacers have struggled to adjust. And this was true during this match as well.
1374  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Forget bounties and Airdrops on: April 18, 2021, 01:45:16 PM
1. a developer
2. build crypto wallets for new projects
3. find bugs in the system of many new projects
Not all people can do these jobs. 1 & 2 need sufficient funds, while for 3 you need specific skills. While for bounty and airdrop, most people can do them because they aren't required a big amount of money and specific skills, we can call them as easy jobs in crypto. We also don't forget that airdrop and bounty basically have a role to promote crypto around the world, not only promote new crypto projects only.

Completely agreed. If you have these sort of skills, what is the point in doing bounties and airdrops at such cheap rates? For development work you can get as much money in one hour as a bounty hunter receives in one month. Another things is that how many slots are available in the new projects? The market is already quite saturated and there is very little room for the new projects. So there is no point in saying that everyone can be a developer.
1375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 18, 2021, 01:33:15 PM
This season the performance from KKR isn't to the expected level. Every match is getting hard and the early wins are the one that give hand at the final levels of getting into the playoff. RCB from the beginning seems to be dominant with its players having some form of fullest game. If one isn't performing well the next one takes responsibility. Even in today's innings after the early wickets the middle order made a good partnership and took the score to 204. Such a game should be followed by KKR.

Everything depends on the performance of the key players. For the KKR, the middle order has failed so far. Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell failed to get the runs (although Russell seems to be in good form in this match). Also, their pace bowlers are not taking wickets when they need them. On the other hand, almost all the key players are performing for the RCB - including Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, Kyle Jamieson, Glenn Maxwell, Harshal Patel.etc.
1376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Participants Only] [IPL 2021] Prediction pool and discussion on: April 18, 2021, 01:21:26 PM
Never heard about it in cricket but it would be exciting to watch RCB,MI,CSK,SRH (as they have huge fan base) and more teams from other cricket leagues (BBL etc) touring MCG,Lords,Eden Garden,Motera, Capetown to compete.

One issue with this suggestion is the revenue distribution. For example, if RCB is touring Sydney Sixers, then the revenues will be shared between RCB and SS, with BCCI and CA losing out. Under such circumstances, the respective national boards won't be too interested in such tours. Also, the availability of national players can be a concern. Without players such as Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers, the tours may not collect much revenue. And finally, there may be players who represent both the franchises.
1377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin high fee has brought dogecoin to limelight on: April 18, 2021, 01:11:13 PM
If the Bitcoin transaction fee is high, then ideally it should be BCH which gets the benefit. I don't know how DOGE can be used in place of Bitcoin, because the technology is much inferior and there are security bugs associated with DOGE. On the other hand, BCH is almost a cloned copy of BTC and the only difference is that the block size is larger to allow more number of transactions (and that is exactly what is needed now).
1378  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bought my vitamins with Bitcoin on: April 18, 2021, 01:01:06 PM
Peer to peer payments are complex. As long as we can't make direct purchases of pharmaceutical products with Bitcoin, I am not going to comment much. Here in India, it is not possible to purchase the medicines directly using Bitcoin. First you need to convert your Bitcoins to gift cards and then use these gift cards for the purchase. The second option is to top up your virtual credit card using Bitcoin and use it for the purchase.
1379  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid virus 2021 on: April 18, 2021, 12:49:31 PM
Anyone who was traumatized by the lockdown is being overly dramatic. And if you're "traumatized" by that more than millions of people dying from the pandemic then your priorities are off.  The governments should have compensated people more for being in lockdown to ease the financial burdens, but that in no way excuses the conservative opposition to the actions needed to get the virus under control and stop transmission and mutation that's going to prolong the pandemic and kill millions of more people.

The conservatives were also responsible for some extent, but it will be wrong to put all the blame on one section of the society. When the pandemic was first reported in China, the WHO initially claimed that human-to-human transition is not possible and there is no need to suspend air travel from China. If the air travel was suspended immediately, then in all probability the pandemic would have got contained in a matter of months. The country that got affected after China was Italy, where travelers from China were responsible for the spread of COVID 19.
1380  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: April 18, 2021, 12:37:34 PM
The tempo of the match changed upside down and it looks like RCB got the well balanced team they were looking for a very long time as i did not expect them to score above 200 runs in this match but Glenn Maxwell  and AB de Villiers made that possible and it is going to be a tricky chase for KKR and i still think RCB will win this match unless Andre Russell or Eoin Morgan comes out with an outstanding performance.

The problem is that both Eoin Morgan and Andre Russell are not in very good form with the bat right now. And more worryingly for the Kolkata Knight Riders, two of their in form batsmen (Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi) just threw away their wickets. Right now Morgan and Nitish Rana are striking the ball really hard and if KKR want to win this match, then these two need to build a decent partnership and stay there for 10+ overs.
