SR 2.0 Hacked?

http://www.reddit.com/r/DarkNetMarkets/comments/1xtqty/sr_has_been_hacked/

Quote
Our initial investigations indicate that a vendor exploited a recently discovered vulnerability in the Bitcoin protocol known as "transaction malleability" to repeatedly withdraw coins from our system until it was completely empty.

Hmmm. It's making its rounds through chats but i would take this with a grain of salt

Hmmm , sheepmarket ...?

I just learned about GBL, the Chinese exhange created may/2013 that vanished in early november together with 4 million US$ of customer deposits.

Is there a list of all such bitcoin scams/thefts somewhere?

A colleague teased me at lunch, "have you already opened your bitcoin exchange?".  Now I am tempted, it seems to be the best get-rich-quick system in the world.  No need to make or sell anything; just set up the site, wait until people deposit a fortune in coins and cash, then close the site an say "sorry folks". (This last step is entirely optional.)

If past history is any guide, my clients will never call the police; who knows what they will have used bitcoins for.  I can even open another exchange; some of my victims may even defend me on the forums, "let's give the man another chance, eh?"

For what it's worth - I just withdrew 13 BTC from BTC-e and it appeared in the Blockchain almost instantly.

Oh shit! We're doomed. Withdraws are working...But we're halted withdraws the reason for the drop?
Peoples are going nuts. Bad times to trade.

The amount of sock puppets claiming that we see 100 and this amount of FUD makes me think about 800$/BTC next days.

Stunna how much does this typically cost you per month?  Shocked

I remember him saying somewhere around 10,000 dollars in November when rates were 1.2 BTC for 2,000 posts (and bitcoin hit $1,000 mark and went above that). You can search the thread to get the info...

Depending on how many people go gamble (from being referred from this forum), that may be actually cheap for him.  It has to be profitable, or I doubt he would be doing it.   Or maybe he is willing to take a slight loss on it to build the business for the longer term...

There are a lot of factors. Stunna gets a LOT of trust from here, an this is really good since he runs a gmabling site. I rarely bet on other sites so the sig campaign really got my trust and loyalty to pd.

Its so slow sometimes, compared to JustDice.
some time JustDice also take too much time its happen to all dice games not just pd

Those times when the websites are slow is probably because of people trying to get them ddosed.

According to the last 10 news posts at blockchain.info, there is a lot more to it than a penny in someones mailbox.. it seems to be a little more complicated than that

You are saying that you believe that send you a satoshi is the same thing as the ongoing DDOS attack?  There is a real attack going on which has absolutely nothing with this thread.

You are right to some extent but still .. if you receive 1000 pennies, instead of 1, your mailbox is getting problems; if you run a business then such an extremely clogged mailbox could cause serious damage even if you manage to clean them out after awhile.

If such spamming is used in a serious and malicious way, it would not really be good for BTC would it? What consumer would want to use a wallet with hundreds of such transactions in it?

Spam mail does not cause damage to my email software but clogs it up nevertheless.

I am afraid that this is the beginning of something awful. We witness the birth of crypto spamming.  Embarrassed

That started a long time ago , one of the reasons the minimal transaction fee was imposed.

Sad that some of the VertCoin community here in BitCoinTalk feel it's necessary to come to this thread to Troll & Flame.

If they were so confident with their VTC, why feel threatened by ThePandaCoin . . .

Their personal attacks in an open forum like they've displayed here just Ruins their integrity, community and ultimately their coin.

I've been reading the VertCoin thread yesterday & today, guess what they've been talking about? How this "coin is sh!t" , how some of them will "mine all they can then dump it all to buy more VTC"

Why so much hate, there's room enough for all . . .
 Cool

Actually , no , there is not room for more coins anymore. The flow of money into cryptos is going down and it isn't matching the amount of coins issued every day.  And people are starting to understand that , and this is where the hate comes from....
