13641  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost electrum seed. on: November 27, 2017, 08:53:29 AM
I see. I wanted to get Bitcoin Cash from electrum but then I found out that I dont have my seed.. Is there any other way to get Bitcoin Cash without a seed?
No. Without the seed, you don't have fully access over your addresses.

Just do like HCP said and move your coins asap (and save the seed this time).
13642  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost electrum seed. on: November 27, 2017, 01:23:59 AM
Assuming that you have a normal wallet and not a 2FA one:

Go to Wallet -> Seed.
13643  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Samourai Wallet - SegWit Enabled Bitcoin Wallet on: November 27, 2017, 12:54:22 AM
I downloaded the zip file and went through it all and don't see the .apk file that I can use to run on my Android like I do for Coinami wallet. There is a source but maybe I have to compile it. Is there a compiled .apk file i can just run?
You can't find the apk anywhere else.

I uploaded the APK from the PlayStore for you. But of course you can't trust me, right? So you can verify that the file is legit by doing this:

1. Visit https://md5file.com/calculator or any other SHA256 file calculator.
2. Download the APK file and select it in the MD5File website.
3. You will see that the SHA-256 generated is the same as the one found in the Samourai's github for the Release 0.97.03.

13644  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: nano ledger & the bitcoin forks on: November 26, 2017, 08:18:11 PM
I imagine that they would support a fork provided that:

-The value of it was high enough for their users to demand it
-It had a functioning codebase
-It was secure for them to implement support.

However, since "Bitcoin Gold" was an extremely shady group who listed a scam on their website that stole millions of dollars, failed to protect their official client from malware and basically rode off the back of BCH anyway, I find it hard to believe that there's any more relevant forks to come.

Were did you get your info that btg is such a scam, would be interested to hear more.
Not Bitcoin Gold itself. But the wallet created by a random dev that were stealing private-keys/wallet seeds and was linked for some time by the BTG team in the BTG's official website.

That's the one:

13645  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to claim BTG from an Electrum wallet? on: November 26, 2017, 08:13:11 PM
Do you need to or would you advise sending out all the BTC from an address before importing it into some BTG wallet?
You don't need but it's recommended. Especially if you are going to import your private-key in a not so reliable wallet.

Also, which BTG wallet do you recommend/use?
All wallets supporting BTG can be found in their official website.

The one from their official site was recently compromised (among other things wrong with BTG).
Which one? I imagine that you are talking about the web wallet that were storing private keys/seeds? Because that one wasn't created by anyone from the BTG dev team.

There is/was, you're just going to have to be willing to say "bye bye" to your BTC's during use.
Why?
13646  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: ConfirmTX.com's Free bitcoin transaction acceleration & New Block Notifications on: November 26, 2017, 06:33:46 PM
How much for a Size (rawtx) 782 Bytes transaction?
Every paid acceleration has a fixed price of $4 regardless of the transaction size.
13647  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [Solved] How to claim BTG from an Electrum wallet? on: November 26, 2017, 06:02:53 PM
Anyway to do this "cold" like with Electron Cash

Don't want to risk putting private key inside an Android phone (which are always full of exploits) or on an online computer with the main wallet

Rather create the transaction and sign it offline
Maybe you can do it by using Bitcoin Gold core? The problem with BTG is that there are almost no working wallet available.

At least with BCH we had Electron Cash right after its release.
13648  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to claim my BTG? on: November 26, 2017, 04:34:24 PM
I heard the hardware wallet Ledger nano does support BTG. So if I buy a ledger nano would I be able to claim my BTG on there?
No. You would only be able to store BTG there. But not claim your BTG from your old wallet because there is no import option in Ledger Nano S.
You would need to import your private key in a BTG compatible wallet and then send your Bitcoin Gold to your Ledger Nano S wallet.

You can see which wallets suport BTG in their website: https://bitcoingold.org/
13649  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Trezor sending currency password? on: November 26, 2017, 02:39:28 PM
Follow this guide: https://blog.trezor.io/hide-your-trezor-wallets-with-multiple-passphrases-f2e0834026eb

There is even a way to use more than one password to have "secret wallets".
13650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to get BCH and BTG to Ledger Nano S on: November 25, 2017, 04:56:16 PM
I kept my BTC pre-fork (both) in an Electrum Wallet.

Now I transferred BTC to Ledger Nano S. Electrum is now empty.

How do I get BCH and BTG to the Nano S?
To get your BCH: Download Electron Cash (a Electrum fork for Bitcoin Cash), import your old Electrum wallet and send your BCH to your Nano S Bitcoin Gold address.
To get your BTG: the easiest way I found to get your BTG from an Electrum wallet is by following this guide[1] (requires an android device).

13651  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help with Electrum first insallation on: November 25, 2017, 04:49:06 PM
Why I am getting 4 outputs as follows?   What are the last 3 strings for?
This means that the sender has sent several diffretent amounts to different addresses in one transaction.

Here is an example:

Let's imagine that you are taking your coins from an exchange. You request a withdraw of 0.5BTC and the exchange mark your request as "Pending". Some exchanges will send payments in bulk to minimize fees, so they wait until many users request a withdraw and send them all at once. So, the transaction ends up having several outputs:
a. A output of 0.5BTC to your address.
b. A output of 0.15BTC to a random user.
c. A output of 1BTC to another random user.

Another question, why Status is showing 936 confirmations? When I first made the txn it was displaying 168.
This is the amount of confirmations that the transaction has. It's normal to increase with time.
13652  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bonpay Plastic/Virtual Bitcoin Card on: November 25, 2017, 03:14:42 PM
Can you tell me about the countries which you people allow for to get the plastic and virtual card? I think you are also providing the cards to only the residents of Europe  as nowadays all of the crypto debit cards providers provide only to that area.
If that is only for Europe, then please tell us that we will get benefit if we participate to buy shares?
Looking at Bonpay's FAQ, looks like they will do the same as all other major cards and only accept residents from Europe. From their FAQ:

Quote
The Bonpay prepaid cards issuance and delivery is possible for the limited list of countries. If your country is not listed below we will not be able to issue and deliver Bonpay card to your country.

European economic area: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom.

Europe Microstates: Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Vatican City.

EEA Overseas Territories: Gibraltar, Greenland, Isle of Man, Canary Islands, Madeira, Bailiwick of Jersey, Bailiwick of Guernsey.

Others: Switzerland, Israel, Turkey.

That's expected since they are issued by WaveCrest (the same company as almost every other Bitcoin prepaid card existent). Nothing new to see here...

The Bonpay card is issued by WaveCrest Holdings Limited. WaveCrest Holdings Limited is a licensed electronic money institution by the Gibraltar Financial Services Commission
13653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Diamond?? on: November 25, 2017, 02:29:39 PM
Nobody supports these shit altcoins. People only care about the money they will earn when they sell their "free airdrop" for more BTC.

It's exactly like the ICO mania. Do you believe in the technology? "No. But it's free/I'm going to profit";
It all started with Bitcoin Cash and here we are with 2 new shitcoins in less than 2 months (Bitcoin Gold and Bitcoin Diamond). I'm just waiting for Bitcoin Copper, Bitcoin Emerald and Bitcoin Moon.  Roll Eyes
13654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Time locked address on: November 25, 2017, 01:44:38 PM
I made a post some time ago explaining how to create a Time Locked Address (and spend your coins) with Coinbin. Check it out:

You can use Coinbin to do that. I had one a few months ago and it's quite easy to create/spend your coins after the chosen period.

To create the Time Locked Address:
1. Go to Coinb.in;
2. New -> Time Locked Address.
3. Enter your address public key (the one you require to sign the transaction and be able to spend the coins);
4. Enter the date-time or blockheight you want to release the coins.
5. Submit and save the Redeem Script (don't lose that or you won't be able to spend your coins in the future);
6. Send the coins you want to keep locked to the Address generated.

After the chosen period, you will be able to spend your coins.
1. Go to Coinb.in;
2. New -> Transaction;
3. Paste your Redeem Script and click Load (it's going to show every input available to be spent);
4. Paste the address you want to send the coins to at the "Address" field and the amount in the "Amount" field. The remaining funds will be used as fee. E.g: If your address has 0.015BTC, you can put 0.014BTC in the
"Amount" field and the fee will be 0.001BTC (0.015 - 0.014);
5. Submit and copy the raw transaction;
6. Go to the "Sign" tab (at Coinb.in);
7. Paste the private key from the address you choose when creating the Time Locked Address.
8. Paste the raw transaction you just created.
9. Submit, copy the signed transaction and push it to the network (you can do it in the Broadcast tab).
10. Transaction sent!
13655  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How To make a Poll Post?? on: November 25, 2017, 03:47:38 AM
It's right next to the "new topic" option (which you should know where it is since you just created this thread).

13656  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: (2FA) Two Factor Authentication on: November 25, 2017, 03:43:50 AM
I already answered that before. So here it goes:

I wouldn't recommend you to use Google Authenticator since you can't easily backup your accounts with it and it's not tied to your gmail account. This means that if you lose your phone and you haven't saved the 2FA secret code, your 2FA accounts are gone. I suggest you to use a open source app like andOTP (the one I'm using) that allows you to backup your 2FA accounts.

This means that you have 2 options:
a. Save every QR code image or secret code before enabling 2FA.
b. Use a 2FA app that allows you to backup your 2FA accounts (Authenticator Plus, andOTP, etc...).
13657  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum wallet public address invalid? on: November 25, 2017, 03:34:43 AM
Hi, TryNinja, Thank you for your reply. I created a new wallet with new addresses and now the transfer from Coinbase is stuck in 'pending' mode. The Electrum address seems to be valid: 1AMpKXkRsYvmfED1gkckj488gmSyFLbmnc

Coinbase usually deducts a fee first, but this time it got into the 'Sent' file without a fee, so I just sent more funds to cover it.  This transaction has been sitting in 'pending' for 10 days.

When I am checking on the blockchain there is no transaction id. Not sure if Coinbase is holding it or it is not moving because there is no fee included. Do you think it will end up back in my Coinbase wallet?  Or maybe an Electrum wallet is too suspicious to them? Undecided
Looks like that's a Coinbase issue. Have you tried to contact them?

I don't think this has anything to do with your wallet being suspicious or something like this. And since there is no transactions incoming to your address, Coinbase hasn't even sent your coins yet. Which means that the transaction is "pending" in their system and not in the Bitcoin blockchain.

Send them a ticket here: https://support.coinbase.com/customer/portal/emails/new
13658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Sent by mistake ETH to wallet ETC yobit.net. Is it possible to fix? on: November 24, 2017, 11:37:19 PM
Is there a way to recover it? Or just learn from the mistake?
Wait for the support to reply you. I have seen cases where Yobit support will provide you a redeemable code equivalent to the amount of ETH you sent to their ETC wallet. So everything should be ok.

Other than there, there is nothing you can do to recover your coins as Ethereum transactions are irreversible and only Yobit can help you.

This user did the same as you and sent ETH to Yobit's ETC address.
You guys won't believe this.  Yobit gave me an activation code and then a link to enter it which had gave me the full amount of my ETH from their insurance fund.  WTF.  Problem solved. I truly can't believe it.
13659  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitaddress.org - wallet question on: November 24, 2017, 10:00:05 PM
Are Monero and IOTA tokens or coins?
Altcoins.

How to find out if one is a coin or a token?
Do your own research about the coin/token. Find the website/ANN thread and look for more informations about it.

CoinMarketCap.com is a good place to start looking for this. You can for example, see in each coin/token page if they are a Coin or a Token.

13660  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New Chrome extension to track the current activity period on: November 24, 2017, 08:32:49 PM
Can we somehow have a look at the source code of the extension ? Without a doubt installing any chrome plugins can put your browsing activities to risk from data breach to wallet hacks.Making the source code open to public may be a nice way to show that it's all legit.
As long as it's proven to be fully secure, I'm not going to download it.

Watching thread...
How will I know if this is not going to rob my bitcointalk account?
I checked the extension source code and looks like there is nothing wrong with it.
But you shouldn't trust me aswell. So if you want, you can check everything by yourself with this "Chrome extension source viewer" extension[1].

The way it works is very simple. Here is the source code:
Code:
var months = ['Jan', 'Feb', 'Mar', 'Apr', 'May', 'Jun', 'Jul', 'Ago', 'Sep', 'Oct', 'Nov', 'Dec'];
var base = 1510080000;
var delta = 1210000;
var span;

function formatDate(d) {
    return d.getDate() + " " + months[d.getMonth()] + ' ' + d.getFullYear();
}

function diff(d) {
    d = Math.floor(d);
    if (d > 172800) {
        return Math.floor(d / 86400) + ' days'
    } else if (d > 7200) {
        return Math.floor(d / 3600) + ' hours'
    } else if (d > 120) {
        return Math.floor(d / 60) + ' minutes'
    } else {
        return d + ' seconds'
    }
}

function setup() {
    var coll = document.getElementsByTagName('table')[1].rows[0].cells;
    var dObj = coll[coll.length - 1].children[0];
    dObj.innerHTML += ' <span style="color:#e00000;font-size:80%;font-weight:bold" id="sp_btt_ext"></span>';
    span = document.getElementById('sp_btt_ext');
}

function main() {
    var elapsed = new Date() / 1000;
    var previous = Math.floor((elapsed - base) / delta) * delta + base;
    var next = previous + delta;
    var perc = (elapsed - previous) / delta;
    var dPrev = new Date(previous * 1000);
    var dNext = new Date(next * 1000);
    span.title = 'Current period started ' + formatDate(dPrev) + ' (' + diff(elapsed - previous) + ' ago)\nNext period starts ' + formatDate(dNext) + ' (in ' + diff(next - elapsed) + ')';
    span.innerHTML = (perc * 100)
        .toFixed(2) + '%';
}
setup();
main();
window.setInterval(main, 1000);
