1381  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jason Moloney vs Vincent Astrolabio WBO 118lbs Title (May 13) on: May 10, 2023, 12:19:32 PM
I am tailing the bet for Vincent Astrolabio here and there's no regret even if he loses.

This is what you call betting with emotions, hehe... Well, I guess I will also jump on the bandwagon and root for the Filipino to win, just to support the boxer. But what will happen if the Filipino wins and Donaire also wins his respective fight? Then we will have three Filipino champions in the same division: Donaire, Tapales, and Astrolabio.
1382  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 09, 2023, 06:44:20 AM

I think the team should trade Jordan Poole since he hasn't been as useful as he was during the last playoffs. I'm not sure what happened to him, but since receiving a huge contract, his stats have dropped significantly.
If the Warriors fall to the Lakers, there will be no more opportunity for Jordan Poole to prove himself. He has been inconsistent, especially in the postseason, and it's unlikely that the team will still consider him as a player to grow with. I'm not sure if the Warriors made a mistake by giving him a max contract instead of Draymond, but I think they may be regretting that decision now.
1383  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Jason Moloney vs Vincent Astrolabio WBO 118lbs Title (May 13) on: May 09, 2023, 06:10:24 AM
Although I'm not very familiar with these boxers, I believe that they have almost equal skills based on the betting odds. The name Moloney rings a bell for me because he was supposed to fight Donaire, but he backed out and chose another opponent instead.

It's hard to choose a winner since I'm not very familiar with them, and I won't be placing any bets, but I'm definitely going to watch this fight. Who knows, the winner here might unify with Donaire if he wins.
1384  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in Bitcoin in Student Life on: May 08, 2023, 08:47:28 PM
I also think that it is better to keep my money on crypto rather than Bank, it is not just about security but also the return is far more greater than holding it on bank.
It was a great option when you have knowledge already of crypto but on the side of OP, well, I encourage you to continue that plan instead of putting in the banks as surely it was affected by inflation.
Quote
The only thing that concerns me is that how would we explain it when the time comes that we have to exchange our crypto into Fiat and it is illegal in our country?
I am sure that it would be somehow get didected or it would be suspicious.
Even though it was not legal but as long as it was not banned in their country, they can still invest and hold their Bitcoin. Well, the problem is that when converting it to fiat money. But there is a solution to that problem and OP must not focus on it but instead, think about the future and this is one way to help his studies and for his family. He no longer asks his parents for support anymore as he already have some source of income.
1385  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to maintain profitability in crypto trading on: May 08, 2023, 08:09:16 PM

3) Increase your capital: if you want to maintain profits in your crypto trading, you need to work hard to increase your capital so that it will help you to buy huge amount of coins that will help you to maintain your regular profits in the market.

Just like in business adding more capital is a way to increase profit and market market share.
However, when it comes to trading, I know we wanted more but must have to think that it adds risk as well. I'd never find it a good option in trading unless it was really necessary if our capital is very small. We should not be greedy in trading and must know contentment otherwise, this would lead us to addiction and we know what will happen when greediness is on our side - out of control and losses.
1386  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading or investment! What's your take? on: May 05, 2023, 03:09:27 PM
I always prefer investment over trading, but that is personally about me and nothing about other things. I know that it is going to change a lot when the time comes but we should not be shocked at trading becoming a lot better, and there are some people who can trade and make a lot more money for sure.

I agree with that as I also preferred to consider Bitcoin as an investment rather than using this for trading pairs.
Not only because I don't like it but its of how it moves and is less volatile compared to altcoins, therefore, I would say that it never suits it. The high volatility of Altcoins seems to be its advantage as it generates more profit than using Bitcoin. In fact, major traders do not often use this as their trading pairs but instead, they are using more altcoins preferably new and hyped projects.
1387  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin doesn't give you instant 100 percent profits on: May 05, 2023, 02:16:20 PM

Many investors of Bitcoin are only investing because of the stories that they have heard or seen on social media of how a particular coins has changed someone life overnight. The current trending story is of the guy that bought $25 worth $PEPE memecoin and turned that investment into millions of dollars. This is why people are now coming into the market thinking they can get same results.
Influencers really got the attention of many greedy people who think that they become rich overnight. They assume that once they invest in Bitcoin, they will earn a profit right away. Many misinformations are circulated on the internet and these scammers take advantage of it while these greedy people are looking for it.
Quote
Many people think Bitcoin can do the same things those memecoins do so they invest in Bitcoin but they don't even understand what Bitcoin is all about and that's very wrong because they won't benefit from Bitcoin future price increase as they'll be sacred and dumo their coins to leave the market.
Not to wonder anyway. Developers try to trick investors (newbies) by giving them a promising word and giving them profit assurance but behind that, it is all just words, a broken promises.
1388  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Devin Haney vs Vasiliy Lomachenco - May 20 on: May 05, 2023, 01:07:20 PM
I sure do hope that we will still see the old Loma, so that he can give Haney a good fight and might dethrone him from being the undisputed champion in this division. But if not, I'm confident to say that it will be like a walk in the park Devin Haney.
I think we all are rooting for the same thing though, I guess not for Loma to defeat Haney, but at least he should be able to give the current undisputed champion an interesting fight, which is the latter. Especially the people, us, which asked for this fight because we totally believed that Lomachenko himself deserved a shot as that shoulder injury he had was the reason why he lost that 3 belt he held once.
I guess it’s hard to believe that Haney will eventually lose to Loma, as his performance can really tell it all. However, if the old Loma’s boxing myth will be seen back in the ring, that would mean a very challenging fight for Haney, and a very exciting and interesting fight for the audience. Haney could be the crowd’s favorite and it’s an obvious fact, but who knows if Loma will surprise us with his best shots and give Haney the best blows ever.
Upsets happen in boxing, so it's not hard to believe that Haney could lose. He may be the favorite in this fight, but that doesn't mean he cannot lose. The likelihood of Haney winning the fight is probably high, based on the bookies and some experts, but we will only find out if that's true once the fight is over. For now, if we want to enjoy, we should place our bets already.
1389  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 05, 2023, 12:22:52 PM

Then probably the league has to revise their rules regarding the penalty and make it more severe so players won't break it just because they earn more than the penalty that will be imposed on them. The main concern here is the health of the players. Once they are injured and they are a big piece of the team, the whole team will suffer, and they'll have a bad season. That's what the league is trying to prevent. It's what we call protecting their investment.

Good point and that's what the actual reason why they are preventing players to play outside after signing the contract, they are protecting their investment as we all know how much they are paying for those players just to play and contribute for the team, and once those players got injured, it will impacted to the performances of the whole team for the entire season.

Those players who are involved in this current issue are not just a practice players but part of the rotations where they can really give something for the team.

If more players will do the same and worse things happen, then it will really affect the league, as what you said better to revise the rules and not just for the organization but also with how teams will implement the rules to make sure if there're newcomers or rising stars that will play for them, they will not repeat that same mistake.

It has already become a major problem, so it's timely to revise the rules and impose more serious sanctions on players who violate their agreement. The PBA should still be considered as the biggest basketball league in the Philippines, and although I'm in favor of revising the penalties or sanctions, I think they should also consider the salaries of the players and ensure that they remain competitive with the current standard.
1390  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH vs BTC future growth potential on: May 05, 2023, 11:55:01 AM
That's pretty tough to recommend. You'll find bags of predictions and advises here but no guarantee available! But combination is depends on you. Both are potential coin for long term with huge marketcap. but if I were you then I would buy 4 ether & 0.4 btc with some others potential altcoins  with rest money. Cause if you analysis the chart of ath, then You'll sell altcoins can multiple your fund faster than btc, although risk is also multiply high than btc also
Perhaps, it was noted already that Bitcoin and ETH have shown impressive market growth when it was finally launched in the market. In fact, only a few numbers of individual who trust this project, how much more this time as the number of investors and adopters keep increasing. It was pretty obvious that these coins will grow more or if may not, we have some assurance that it never die instantly unlike to what happen with shitcoins.
Well, I say to OP that he should have his own stance why choosing them, not just because it was recommended by someone but it should be on what he thinks is right.
1391  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 05, 2023, 07:30:52 AM
The Celtics might beat Philly on the road after that stellar game 2 performance, but I think we should forget what happened in game 2 so we won't be too aggressive in putting our money on the Celtics. I think the home team here is the underdog since most bettors will likely choose the better team between the two. However, Philly is still undefeated at home, and they need to bounce back after an embarrassing loss. I like Philly in this angle.

Therefore, my bet is on Philly moneyline.

I'm tailing you on this one. In my opinion, there seems to be a problem with the line. After the strong performance of the Celtics in game 2, I think Philly should be at least +3.5. However, looking at the current line, it opened at +1 and is currently at +2. I believe this is another trap that we should avoid, and we should be on the right side, which is Philly.
1392  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: May 05, 2023, 05:29:39 AM

With what happened in Game 1, I think the Warriors need to win Game 2 and at least one game in Games 3 and 4. The Lakers are hyped now, and people are thinking that they will win the series and possibly end the defending champion with a 4-0 or 4-1 record. However, this is just Game 1, and anything can happen, just like what happened in the Celtics vs 76ers Game 2, where the Celtics bounced back strong and dominated the 76ers.

They need to not let the Lakers win another 1 again and that game was at home aswell, so it is a great upset for the Golden State Warriors to upset them in their own territory, it is a big feat for Anthony Davis after that 50 points play of Stephen Curry, he is back in his regular form again, and lets his teammates do what they can but yeah I really think that game 2 will be their win that is why I made a bet on it,

Davis was really inconsistent. After scoring 30 points in game 1, he only scored 11 points in game 2 with 7 rebounds and had the most turnovers on the team. It was a bad game for Davis, and as a result, the Warriors dominated the Lakers to tie the series.
1393  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: May 05, 2023, 04:46:36 AM

Nobody can help them but they themselves, if someone is on the verge of collapsing due to addiction, he or she should realized that he has already stepped into something with no return. I also think the the stages of grief could be apply on this situation since one should be able to accept that he is addicted before voluntarily asking/seeking for help to his closest one or someone he could trust. I have seen so many people forcing their loved ones inside the rehabilitation and in the end there is not that much improvement since they couldn't accept that they are addicted while adding the fact that they felt betrayed by how their families forced them inside to change as if they are being abandoned. From what I have observed just like alcohol, out 10 who were being rehabilitated, there are only 3 in most cases who changed while the rest came back to their old habits or stayed inside the center. Although it is not that accurate prediction I know for sure that it is not the main solution for addiction.
Addiction can't easily be forgotten. Let us say that person stops gambling and is being rehabilitated, it doesn't mean that he is totally healed from addiction. Because that person still has the chance to become addicted again when remembering the past and especially, if he did nothing in his life. That is why it is necessary for them to become busy with other things and have their attention and focus on it so they couldn't remember what they are doing in the past and most of all, it was important to regularly engage them in physical activities.
1394  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading not a get rich quick on: May 04, 2023, 09:47:39 PM
I don't know why people often trust meme coin or altcoin to an extent getting involved with $5m how and why?
Do you think such person have a common sense or he doesn't have a financial adviser someone who works as ADC to him?
If that he invested the whole lot of money to bitcoin alone then I don't think he could had lost this way, maybe after the market gained another ATH then he might sell and get back those invested funds.
Meme coins are considered hyped coins and we can't deny that many people become rich and earn huge profits from investing in them during the hype. Their experience teaches them something really happen in the crypto space and they will be doing this again and again despite the high risks. I won't say that they don't have common sense but they are really practical in this matter, perhaps they are smart and have the ability to adapt to the situation. We can say they are wrong but guess what, risk takers earn more profit, and these meme/hyped coins investors possibly earn more than those who invest in Bitcoin ( and they might lose huge amounts as well).
1395  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seeking help with PEPE on coinbase wallet on: May 04, 2023, 09:17:18 PM
Of course, you can't sell them because although you can see PEPE in coinbase exchanges but it was not yet open for trading which means it only stuck there. And the only thing you gonna do for now OP is to contact their support system or withdraw your funds but yes, that will incur fees which is a loss on your side. This is why it is very important to check first before sending our funds, awareness is somewhat needed otherwise, we will be wondering why it happens. As this coin is a new coin, you can't really expect it to be listed and traded in major exchanges.
1396  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't know if am right or wrong about this. on: May 04, 2023, 12:14:02 PM
...
I mean I usually tell my family or friend that the crypto world is risky business and sometimes I tell how much I lose or get scammed.
At least they know your situation and are aware that not all who come into the crypto space make money so easily and much more on trading.
A reason why we should not force people to come here and join the investment, instead it was their decision to be here and never blame anyone for whatever happen to them.
And you OP, you'll nothing have to worry about his situation as you did your part already and it was your friend's decision if he pursues trading or not.
Because your intention is to give him some awareness, ideas, and crypto education, not to scam him.
1397  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The fear of losing bitcoin... on: May 04, 2023, 11:46:54 AM
This is the result for someone who just dives into an investment that they are not familiar with and definitely know how about it.
Perhaps, people are screaming when seeing the price dump and speculated badly but guess what, they are too noisy then and proud when they got a huge profit from Bitcoin.

People who uncertainties on their life about their investments will be meant failing in the end. That is why before investing in Bitcoin, we must also aware of the consequences that we possibly encounter. We shouldn't take this easy as it was not and avoid negative thing that will affect our goal and decisions.
1398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Halving effects, how long they will last? on: May 04, 2023, 09:18:34 AM
Halving won't last long because after the bull season, the drop is really what we expect and another market struggle waiting for another 4 years and another halving.

This really depends on the investors or the buyers because, in every halving, the rewards decrease, meaning it becomes more valuable, but if the investors won't be buying bitcoin, then there is still no effect. It is still the cycle of buying and selling, but again, in the past halving, we've seen a lot of people adopting it, and until now, it keeps increasing, so the price will still increase as long as people or countries are adopting it.
Actually, many people had come before halving but then just leave after the bull market and after selling their coins. Then most of these people will turn back in the next halving. In this case, as long as the scheduled halving which is every 4 years, the situation will remain and I see how important is halving the crypto space as it brings more investors, newcomers, and another chance for new ATH every cycle.
1399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we help to Bitcoin education? on: May 04, 2023, 08:45:02 AM
The best way to teach the world about Bitcoin was through the internet if you do a Youtube video it's already a big help to the community just make sure that you share useful knowledge about crypto or Bitcoin. Other social media platforms will be a great help Facebook, Twitter, etc. was great platforms for sharing cryptocurrency, I mean bitcoin is already spreading and I can see a lot of countries continue to adopt Bitcoin on a lot of platforms.

I guess the easiest way was to teach your knowledge to your family or relatives since they are the ones who you can easily teach your knowledge, when you do that and they also believed in bitcoin and start to invest they might as well teach it to their friends etc.
Yes, there are resources that can be found on the internet and it is all there, only we need to look at them. But it was not just we addressing them to look into it but also, it was important to have at least some discussion personally if possible because there is a big difference when it was just reading compared to a situation where someone is talking to you in front or just true virtual communication which your questions can be answered right away and clear.

But I see that it was best to communicate and educate people who really have an interest to listen and being open-minded. They will surely grasp what we wanted to teach and be able to retain it in their minds.
1400  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Tank Davis vs. Ryan Garcia betting and discussion (May, 2023) on: May 04, 2023, 02:18:58 AM

Yes, not going to be surprised, we don't know how long is the contract or when it's going to end, but for sure, majority of us might have the same feeling that Ryan is just waiting for the right time to cut his ties with Oscar and who knows, goes on the other side, PBC.

Gonna hurt Oscar if that happens, but this is a cutt throat business, this guys are really going against each other and if you want to survived, then Oscar needs to do is still go and look for more promising boxers again. And then pamper them, make their name more hype and then get that belt. He still has a lot of stable boxers though, so could be fine if Ryan decided to part ways.

I've never seen a boxer going all alone in the post-conference without his trainers and promoters and these people are making a lot of alibis without being in Ryan's corner when he needed them the most, there's confirmed news that he parted ways with Goosen which is the right thing to do, he has a bad game plan stalking a hard-hitting boxer like Tank, the possibility of Ryan leaving Oscar is highly possible, Ryan is still a draw in boxing matches and any promotions would like to have him in their rooster.
It's just one big loss, he'll have more big wins coming if he gets a good trainer and possibly good promoters.

A lot has changed with just one loss of Ryan Garcia. This only goes to show that when you're no longer an undefeated boxer, you'll likely have a harder time climbing the ladder of champions. Just like what happened to Thurman and probably other boxers who are no longer undefeated. The only exception I know is Pacquiao, because even if he's not undefeated, people are still excited to see him fight. Moreover, they're also expecting him to win every time.
