I prefer nitros to the gigabytes although gigabyte has a longer warranty and better quaility

yes longer warranty !

wait till those nitros jizz on ya LoL, not to be rude but just saying.

@OP, u mean something like this ?

yeah i like them too.

those 1500's are really hard to get them atm as they are very new in the market, rare & EXPENSIVE, so far i'm very happy with the 1 have now, will see how it goes, i'll slowly grab them when they're available in the market. my regular suppliers will keep them for me. i'll be testing dual 1200W plat on a 7 gpu rig using single c13 heh. really dont have much time but let's see how things goes.
142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 22, 2017, 04:57:29 PM
30.1-3 mhs ETH - 437.x mhs DCR - GPUZ  80-85W

rest you will have to figure out but not that difficult. temps wise abt the same as the nitros.

oh yeah, the nitros does leaks sometimes overtime, some sort of transparent oil thingy.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 22, 2017, 04:33:41 PM
@yslyung - Why are you preferring the Gaming ver over the non gaming one ? Does the gaming one give more hashrate ? I bought 2 Gigabyte 480s and they are the most delicate cards I have, they are OC but they cnt get to higher temp and trip my whole rig :@ !!

hmmm, so far these are the only available ones here locally afaik & so far all of them works really well for me & my customers. prolly just my luck i guess.

don't have any experience with non gaming or GB's 480 models

i'm sure you are aware that 480's consumes alot more power compared to a 470 but so far based on experience, the 470 do sometimes really kicks the butt's of the 480's especially in terms of power consumption & dollar/cost per mhs.

some 470's even kick 480's butt based on 1 to 1 direct comparison in hashrate except gpu intensive algos, 480=36 CU, 470=32 CU but when it comes to mining ETH & overall BEST gpu to use will be a 470 4GB.
144  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 22, 2017, 04:18:01 PM
ok last teaser for you guys I promise  Grin

nice ! but . . . 1 gpu goes down, whole rig goes down = lotsa downtime, the initial startup & DAG generation must be loooong. good for enthusiast but imo, it's NOT good or recommended for a newbie. try dual mining & what see it spits out. i won't even goto PSU topic, the amount of mess of cables (heh, except my rigs but still need LOTS of work) & i think 1 of the worse would be to figure out which gpu or hardware is the 1 causing all the issue or the entire rig to fail.

sorry for the -ve points but that's what i think & i hope you take it as constructive -ve points.

nevertheless, HURRY up & share the secret sauce & an awesome job done !

same over here, more stuffs are coming soon too . . . lots of running around to do. bz days ahead building rigs for the local community.

some gpus unboxed, another 80+ more to come . . . unboxing can be really tiring, lot's of different types of screws & hex for building rigs

happy mining to all

You guys are living a nerd's dream Cheesy

One more question about the TB85, has anyone tried the 1x3 PCIe splitter with it? Were you able to run 7 cards with it? If someone has a TB85 and a 1X3 splitter lying around, could you please try and let us know, it would help. The ASROCK H81 Pro BTC V2 works with the splitter and you can run 7 GPU on that board, and if the TB85 can do too, minus the Asrock's headless bug, it would be the new king of mining boards.

yes it will & can run splitter, you can run 7 gpu but you MUST have enough power to power all 7 gpu

@OP yeps they are GB G1 gaming, i have another, *roughly* 100 more coming in abt 2 weeks or so. more stuffs are coming, lots of work to be done.

the 1500 ones are working nicely, fully compatible with the breakout boards that i'm using. less high pitch noise & it does seems to be quieter & not so warm on my 7 mixed gpu rig.

these are some of the previous ones purchased, built & delivered to customers, 1 box/carton = 10 gpus

so far it's 1 of my fav gpu

same over here, more stuffs are coming soon too . . . lots of running around to do. bz days ahead building rigs for the local community. those little silver static bags are picos, should be 50 of them.

platinum psu arrived, more reinforcements are on it's way to me.

yeah PRINT $$$ is on top of the priority list !

@citronick, warehouse across the border ? well, as for ventilation, best is to suck it hard than blowing directly, just figure out a way for the air to flow & suck all those hot air out. take note of noise, depending on type of exhaust. but make sure there is some sort of dust proof/filter on the fresh air inlet.

back to printing $ & work on new projects.
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 18, 2017, 07:19:04 AM
then how abt PS ON & PS OFF ? if mobo are powered directly by server psu then the mobo will always have +12V, not too sure how it works that's why i let the pico do the job for the PS ON & PS OFF & to avoid any accidental short circuits if it may or may not happen.

yep in some cases it won't even get warm, depends on each individuals setup, some put the whole bunch of rigs, psu, gpu and everything close & stacked together so that may have some accumulated heat & heats everything else up. just saying & do take note, a proper planning is always a good idea to start with when expanding especially cooling+exhaust.

since you have a monster psu the 4kw, just power those orion fans directly using the psu itself, you can even add a simple on/off switch instead of pulling out the pcie from the breakout board. let the pico rest heh . . . nice fan ! hook it up behind the rigs (2 would be sufficient me thinks), will suck all the hot air and bring in fresh & cool air over entire rig, psu & gpu. how's the sound of it ? i'm pretty confident it's not as loud as the small ones. can you do a short video of them running ?

yeah totally agreed, let's enjoy the bubble now & hope it won't pop so soon. faster roi/profits for most of us too.

tax ? hmmm don't even wanna think abt it too much as of now till year end or time to submit them, then let the P&L numbers do the rest.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 18, 2017, 06:19:53 AM
me think the standard cable quality (how many strand & what is the rating ?) of those pico might be little low quality, slice the cable & see inside. but can be upgraded & modded to each individuals preferences.

might not have enough power, most likely only 2 capacitor on it ? have specs of it ? i'm not entirely sure but i feel more comfortable with more caps on it, maybe just me. - especially if on an AMD platform. AMD CPU consumes lots of power & generate lots of heat.

the ones that i'm using are these, you can check out the specs & the * warning

http://www.streacom.com/products/nano160-fanless-psu/

upgraded custom 18awg silver plated cables.

some wanted a longer input cable so i upgraded them to 16awg but i think it may a little overkill but that's what i would use & have peace of mind.

there's another lower power version same as the ones that i'm using, only 2 power input cables, slightly smaller & only 120W, it's also cheaper but i think i'm gonna stick to the ones that i'm using atm, tested & proven on many rigs in various conditions. so far so good, touch wood.

like i have been mentioning couple of times, be careful with those pico's, seen some blew themselves up due to wrong way of powering them up, some due to low quality or power rating, another case, mobo failed including pico but do not have a solid evidence what actually caused the failure.

maybe i'm talking too much rubbish, but when you start to use them & after 10-15 mins of running, place your finger on it & "feel" for yourself, it does heat up quite a bit & do make sure there's some sort of cooling/airflow over them. yes everything has a rating but it does NOT mean you can push it to it's limit all the time 24/7 non stop, always have some allowances. better be safe than sorry.

happy modding+happy mining

be SAFE always guys, NOTHING is more important than SAFETY especially when the prices are good, many wants their rigs up & running ASAP but may have forgotten or missed about some basic safety precautions ends up losing the entire rig or more.

OP, the riser is not straight on the nitro .... Tongue

might be a little "off-topic" though but i'd like to REMIND all miners SAFETY FIRST !

1 of my buddy had some sort of explosion on his mobo. investigation is still ongoing. although it blew up, the cpu fan is still turning, USB ports are still providing power & LAN port still have blinking LED's.

using metal vs wood rack/base, in this case, metal wins.

even the soldered components melted

the owner was lucky, he was nearby & nothing else damaged besides the mobo

151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Burned PCIe to PSU connector on: March 17, 2017, 01:36:09 PM
everything is wired up.

cables are hidden, not a fan of messy rig/cables.

server psu
nice I was thinking about going with server psu but how exactly do you power the motherboard thanks

Same question. Do you need adaptor for the ATX power socket?

yes n a little more than that, most likely u will need a server psu, a breakout board n a atx adapter powered by the server psu aka pico but u MUST be able to get those good ones ! if not it will burn & may or may not cause the mobo to burn too.

i've been busy with couple of ongoing projects.

i may launch a complete kit soon. couple of things are on order.

happy mining & be safe.
152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 17, 2017, 10:15:25 AM
I agree these TB85 are very good.  Plug and Play MB for both Windows and Simple OS.  No stress easy 6 GPU guaranteed.  Newegg was selling them for $69.99 before they were sold out and with this Frenzy I'm sure it will be a while before it's back in stock and H81 are hard to get so these are your closest bet other than much pricier MBs.  I will handle this on a first come first serve but will try to give higher priorities to larger order as those are easier to handle than tons of single transactions so if you're trying to get some maybe load up extra for future or for another friend.  Thanks again YSYLUNG, you're doing everyone a huge favor.

Quoting to reduce post.

yslyung are you from Europe? There are people interested in tb85 here too.

 YSYLUNG is from Asia.

YSLYUNG ... aka captminer Tongue

atm, shipping to ASIA, USA & UK is not an issue but to other parts of EU could be an issue. I'll double check with my shipping agency.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 17, 2017, 08:23:00 AM
I would be happy to help warehouse this deal to help our members at no additional cost other than what is required for me to ship out to you.  Thanks YSYLUNG for the generous offer.  Can you mention how much it would cost per MB here.  For all those interested please PM me rather than flood this thread.

ok, i will get further info, i will try to get lowest possible price with a bulk order including mine, so everyone can PM OP & i will be in touch too. it's friday over here & close to after working hours, i will update ASAP including S&H so that i can come out with a final pricing.

those who are keen, please do let OP know so i can figure out shipping charges easier.

warranty is 3 years. not sure if it's international covered or not but if you ship it back to me, i will help you to process it but so far i've used over 40 tb85's non have failed on me yet.

this is an official product from official distributor, not those illegal ones that are not able to claim warranty if there's any issues.

ok i better stop "advertising" but do keep OP updated & i can work on my side. this is for the community !!!
154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 17, 2017, 06:18:33 AM
Yeah, I think OP is either FULL of S@#$ or what not.   Not sure why he post pictures of things that didn't need change to make a simple solution seem more complicated as well.  I'm getting tire of this crap why they make Z10 LGA1151 MB so retarded.  You need a supported CPU to flash the BIOS to support Celeron and that BIOS have been available for many months, why not sell the new MBs with that damn BIOS and save us the headache.  Another half day of my life wasted.  All the TB85 sold out so I have to find some other options.

i have minimum 50 tb85 available, who wants ? should reach USA within a week or less.

let's see if OP is willing to offer some warehousing.

sorry i've been bz with couple of ongoing projects.
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 16, 2017, 04:57:59 AM
I keep hearing picos are here and all but i don't see any full pico setups just test setups , if the guy wants to start mining now , I'd advise him to get started and upgrade to picos or whatever when the are actually out there and easily purchasable

gotta work with what is available to you NOW.
they are available now, check ebay and amazon lol,i just ordered one myself just yesterday along with a server psu and breakout board either from amazon or ebay, the pico I got for like 20 dollars, does min 160w, def more than I need but just In cause since im running a dual core Pentium cpu on the rig its going on, if it was running the Celeron cpu I would have gotten a lower wattage pico psu. gotta keep up with stuff man! you are lagging behind a bit lol

be careful, not all will work well, there's some who tried getting those el-cheapo ones & got into trouble, it blew up & mobo was dead too.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 20 GPU - opan air case - no risers - 5 motherboards on: March 15, 2017, 07:47:51 PM
sorry to pour cold water, but it's not gonna work & fail, you will see why, build a prototype & show us with actual pix.

cost will NOT be lower, i can assure you that in fact HIGHER ! - post your prices . . .

packing & shipping+handling will be a headache hence more added cost due to dimension over weight.

philipma's setup is very ghetto, yes it works but sorry to be blunt/rude, but its a mess & a fire hazard imho.

NOT all mobos are able to provide that amount of power via the pcie lanes for a 24/7 operations, that's why a powered riser is there for a reason & to enhance cooling.

yes philipma again yeah ? ask him about his settings, way underpowered undervolted so probably that's the reason why it's working out for him but it does not apply to everyone else.

sorry guys for the criticism but just a very blunt & direct honest opinion.

it's a thumbs down for me atm until OP builds an actual product & showcase it with the points he pointed out... GL on your adventure mate, THUMBS up ! for the idea/innovation though.

http://imgur.com/a/w0jO7

please note that the one that is made is actually a 6 stack however we will be converting and selling the 5 stack

stick 4 RX series gpu on the mobo, yes u definitely need a bracket, however i'd say they will be "too close for comfort". the fans will be literally sticking to each others backplate except for the 1st gpu.

the gpu that you are using is a little "thin" what gpu is that ? - most use RX series gpu

even single mining it'll be too hot imo & will still require some sort of extra cooling - extra fans = extra power consumption & costs for extra fans

it's not commercially viable if 1 is not fully utilizing what a gpu/mining software can do & to maximize profits - not fully utilized = less profit/longer roi

only 4 gpus available & only on certain mobos with 4 full pcie lanes - i hope those mobos will be cheaper than a biostar tb85

i'm sure many of us are aware that how much power the RX series pulls from the pcie lanes, with 4 on the mobo it's gonna be quite a bit even single mining with the hot air blowing onto the mobo = accumulated heat = potential fire hazard = higher chance of failure

again, sorry to have many -ve points, but if there's no constructive criticism (i hope you take it this way) there won't be any improvements.

thumbs UP for the real & actual product ! + looks clean even using non full modular atx psu. but imo, it does not really help much with the points above. i hope you take it the +ve way & come out with an improved solution/version. i do like the simple design but needs to more effective/flexible. shipping will still be a PITA, not many couriers are willing to ship certain sizes/dimensions, do double check on that & also shipping prices.

*although power consumption is low, it is never a good idea to plug 4 psu's into 1 extension cord on a single power point*

@ yslyung - Keep up the good work my Mad Scientist friend.  Keep us in the loop so we can avoid other potential issues / work around.  Looking forward to hear more about the 1500W, but need to find a better work around for the 1200W since I got 10 of them.

heh mad scientist ... well, i think we just have to push ourselves to certain limits & must have those dare to try + push & take the next step attitude in order to be able to achieve what each of us want for ourselves. just my own opinion. yeps, i've got a few REALLY crazy stuff coming up, just gotta be patient including myself, most parts ordered, on it's way to me.

cryptowatcher did come out with a solution with drilling holes onto psu cover (width is about 8.5cm) + adding a fan (9cm) there to improve the cooling just like the method i suggested to you with the ibm BB's.

lemme dig the diagram/schematic out, if you intend to do that, find the "sweet" spot where the temp sensor is & cool it. HP cs psu are very compact psu's, just for more info, you can also manually adjust the voltage output for this psu too.

i just ordered another 20 of them but all of them are 1200w platinum ones. 1500's are still a rare species now & they do cost alot more. 2 x 1200w plat's are cheaper than 1 x 1500w.

i think i've spent a little over 4K USD yesterday just stocking parts up. alot more to come. stay tuned.

160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 13, 2017, 05:59:05 AM
ah ahahaha ...

BB = ibm bb 2000/2500

what i meant was to drill holes on top of the BB & mount 2 x 120mm fans on top so you can cool them if it fits onto the case, as i thought, most likely it won't fit, too big, same for my rack style/sizes too. maybe u can put the BB in other positions ? yeah drilling on the case would be the minimal damage, way better than cutting a hole.

i am in the process of making HP vertical breakout boards almost identical to the ones i am using now. i hope there will be enough interest, not that cheap as there's a MOQ to fill, the more the cheaper but i don't want too much $ of mine stuck only in a breakbout board but i'm still gonna get a small batch for own use 1st. prototype coming soon.

for the HP, sadly those little high rpm fans are a killer/turn off but atm the only couple of solutions

1) provide CAI. Cold Air Intake or forced cold/cooler air to the intake
2) placement of the psu, avoid being in a hot position/location- airflow direction
3) reduce air turbulence/resistance by clearing the intake path
4) mining rig/rack is at a very cold location

if 1, 2 & 3 is OK, then no need for 4.

the 1500W is a little quieter & lesser high pitch, running now on my 7 gpu test rig. cooler too, prolly less stress & better efficiency. 7 gpu, mixed 470's dual mining getting about 202 mhs/ 2757 mhs on dcr at the wall 1190-1210W.

my personal general rule of thumb is best/at least to have a 20% allowance from the PSU's max output.

tb85 is a direct PnP just small changes to bios when 1st booted up & nothing else needed but for gaming 5 1 extra installation for network after win installation. both works very well.

ok back to work.
