181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Third alt coin thread last two were too big. Builds links thoughts etc on: March 04, 2017, 09:03:04 PM
yeah, not yet as i am low on stock & i have to mod the barrel connector to a 6 pin pcie. i am trying to lower or offer a more competitive price by buying them in larger bulk.

let's see how things goes, yun have pm'ed me so let's see how things goes.

shipping will be costly if i am a direct walk in.

pls be patient.

the nearest person to me should be citronick, if he's interested i can easily send 1 for him to test n review.

stay tuned, thx phil for sharing.
182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 04, 2017, 08:39:40 PM
@yslyung - won't release prices until someone else does for the pico... not holding my breath

@Yun where can I buy the best risers? can't find a source.

pls be patient, i'm already in touch with OP there are some kinks that needs to be ironed out.

for the risers (ver006C) or pcie cables (60cm length, extension 20cm) i have them too, let us work things out.

Quote

that setup looks quite nice already, with a little refinement and bit of cable management but is totally a sweet start! ive got some great idea's for a pico setup, i just need to grab me a 1200w server grade psu with breakout board and a pico psu so i would be able to test power cables to make this setup clean and sexy looking! LETS MAKE SOME SEXY PICO RIGS! WHOOO!!!

it was already there but got "deleted" anyway here it is, as i mentioned before i'm not a fan of messy setup.

all cables are hooked up ! except for CPU was waiting for stock to arrive.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 04, 2017, 08:10:57 PM
biostar mobo ? like i mentioned in 1 of the earlier posts, best bang for buck with little to no issues. have not had 1 failed yet over 40 of them. well recently had 1 false alarm, mobo was ok just me forgotten something thinking the mobo was DOA.

latest risers ? dubbed ver 006C ?

@yun9999, it's not just a simple hp server psu, as you can see those on the pic above, they are platinums not the regular silver ones. there are differences, i'm waiting on my 1500W version to arrive sometime mid this coming week to test out with the breakout borads that i have as it fits all CS pus's.

thx for the offer on the warehousing suggestion. my stock is finished, i'll have to order them, i hope we can all work something out. again like i mentioned via PM shipping cost will most likely be the added cost, let me check on that part.

184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave ( PART 2 !!!!!!!!) on: March 04, 2017, 06:44:20 PM
im waiting for a decent miner oriented pico psu adapter for my sidehack server psu/breakout board too.

needs:
6 pin pcie input
4 pin cpu power cable (long)
sata power lead (long)

The Pico Finksy / Hawkfish will work with all the breakout boards that uses 6Pin.  You won't be needing the CPU power from the PICO.  It's a 160W Pico with custom cablings.  The 6pin splitter will have a pigtail that have the barrel connector to power the Pico and another adapter for the 8 Pin EPS CPU connection.  It will also have the 1 molex and 1 Sata because like you, I still want to have the option of Running Windows for undervolting or ROM flashing if I want.

Finksy is sending me a unit in a couple of weeks to test.  I just lacked the patience so I tried to Jerry Rigged a solution from Ebay to play and be more familiar with it.  My plan is to replaced all the baby ATX psu with PICOs to reduce cabling and the space used up by the ATX PSU.  This will improve my air flow to allow my Exhaust fan to be much more efficient.  Not to mention it will be much easier to troubleshoot and get GPUs in and out of the rack.

I also ordered a lot of supplies for Cryptowatcher as he volunteered to design some even nicer cabling options.  Will update everyone and show the different options since many of us including myself are not very experience with Picos.  It will help save everyone headaches and frustrations.  The best part is that they will try to get it to use cheaper than if we were to go out and Jerry Rig 1 for ourself.

my newer version of it, better wires (18 awg) but the input from psu is too short, i might mod them longer but it's ok for my setup.

don't say i don't share or off topic ! Tongue

i've bought at least 5 different versions & run tests on them, so far this is best. Rated 150W MAX 210W (OPP) built in OVP/UVP

not promoting any sales but i am in for competition which the OP encourages, i will price match & offer a LOWER PRICE !

Black 6 Pin PCIE connects directly to breakout board

White 4 Pin connects to mobo, it will power a 4/8 connector on the mobo

2 x Black SATA, well we all know what it does.

@yun9999 sent u a long PM hahaha ...

btw, here's 1 of my latest revision with the add-on option of Mining Control Center (MCC) there's another version that can control up to 8 boards 2 pages back, this version i call it the mini version that can power on/off your rigs remotely anytime, anywhere as long as there's an internet connection.

* i can't continue to build the rig, it's almost 4am here. more pics to come soon.

speaking of mobo's, so far for a 6 GPU rig best is to use BioStar TB85, they cheap & good.

btw, they have a new version that supports LGA 1151 dubbed TB250-BTC

@ Hey yslyung - long time no see. Cool project you have there on the relays. I am using SRR currently - not bad actually and GUI is quite simple.
I guess its about productization of an idea in which smOS and SRR have achieved nicely - complete with store front, payment/paypal and logistics.
Is your project available for sale?

which project mate ? haha, it'll be very easy to post them to you either to the island or across the border, you can either post here or PM me directly. you can pay me either in btc or wire to directly locally in the island or across, works in any way for me.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave on: February 26, 2017, 09:30:36 AM
my DIY of SRR but i call mine Mining Control Center (MCC)

for 8 rigs

4 rigs, i call it the mini version, all sticks nicely onto the acrylic plate.

web interface

mobile interface

parts are very easy to find, not difficult to build them but for the coding most might have a hiccup. i do not have to spend a whopping ermmm over USD 100 + shipping ?

i'm not saying SRR is not good it has a very well written software + support from tytanick, but imho opinion, it's way overpriced.

LOWEST cost MAX profit would be my main goal.

SMOS is great software but again i do not like my miners to go thru someone's server & have the possibility control my rigs or what is happening in the background. just personal preferences.

now here's my magical question, your miners does go thru the "devfee" mining session rite ? does it go to the actual dev or it goes to the other OS dev ?

on my miners page, it goes to the OS dev but nope it goes to me ! Nothing against the ori DEV or any DEV's , it's something i bumped into & i only use it for my OWN personal use & experiments in learning more in mining. PLEASE DO NOT PM me how I do it or share.

OP, here's another angle of the "lucky7" rig i made, i think i should have more close ups of it though, if i see it i'll post it up.
*i recalled someone PM'ed me abt this build, sorry i did not reply to your PM but as you can see pretty clear the parts list in the pic)

Someone asked who sells rigs ? yes I do but at the other part of the world as I'm located in Asia, me & citronick are neighbors, hey citronik, remember me ? Maybe for smaller stuffs yeah, but the whole rack, ermmm shipping would cost a bomb me thinks.

Just delivered a rack of 3 rigs to 1 of my customer. more to go, the racks will have a new revision & looking forward to build "cleaner" rigs.

lastly, speaking of mobo's, the GT7 is freaking NICE, looking fwd to get 1 of those to play with together with the "new" Nitro's 470D4GB as a fun rig, well maybe but the GT7 is really nice mobo.

here's my latest "experiment" with the famous Gaming 5, no time to mess with it yet as the part just arrived & busy building rigs to get them delivered.

*apologies to any dev's "if i have offended" anyone of them, i'm not stealing any "devfees" but i'm learning & i PAID long enough & i'm NOT trying to sell my product over someone else's product but it's really too expensive imo & again, i always prefer NOT to let my rigs to go thru any other servers before the pool as I do not know what's happening behind the scenes*

Happy mining to all, more pics & updates to come. Smiley

189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU MINING RIG taking fire on: February 23, 2017, 10:21:47 PM
thx for sharing your experience guys !

good read & very good to know as i always tell miners to get a good brand of PSU, cables, do not share too much load on a single power point/outlet, best is to upgrade your current electrical wiring, a new DB for your farm, use good quality/brand of RCCB/ELCB/MCB, power points, especially cables !

Never ever overload !

improve cooling & exhaust

no messy cables (at best effort) depending on individuals Tongue

ALWAYS set a minimum of 20% or more allowance to the MAX load of PSU & all cables.

yes extinguisher is an excellent idea, constant monitoring, add on some fail safe such as miner stops mining when GPU exceeds certain temps.

remove easily combustible materials away from rig, room, farm or DC.

sounds serious but when a fire especially electrical fire, it can very dangerous not only to yourself, family, friends but your neighbors or the entire building.

some people i know was running their farm like a hero, it caused his entire apt floor including the top & bottom floors to have blackout. main cables all the way to the electrical room were all burned in the middle of the night.

well, better be safe than sorry.

happy mining to all Smiley

not mine, just google & you will be able to see some rigs, asic miners or farms on fire, 1 of the popular ones is the farm in thailand. the pic below is posted somewhere here in bct, yeah it almost burned down his/her house if i'm not mistaken.

190  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v8.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 23, 2017, 09:38:13 PM
please dont mine at nano for pascal.

yeah dont quote the whole post man.

so far no improvements on eth as far as my tests goes.

after new settings, reboot your rigs before running.

let's see what comes next.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v8.0 (Windows/Linux) on: February 23, 2017, 07:56:16 PM
no speed improvements that I can see but op did not mention abt any speed improvements.

only added pascal & newer version of ethman 2.6 I think.

ethman don't have pasc selection.

maybe next version?

best speed for eth dual mine is eth/etc+dcr.

wattage a tad lower is eth+pasc just a little. depends on dcri settings.

pasc rejection rate seems to be on the high side too, roughly abt 5%.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave on: February 12, 2017, 05:43:39 PM
too much quoting & talking Tongue

single server PSU is best simplest solution & cost effective. ATX PSU will NEVER ever beat a server or enterprise grade PSU especially with customized cables.

pic does the talking (as per OP's request for more pics)

i still have few dps, working mods on them for 7 or more GPU rigs & can fully utilize them as power is not an issues anymore.

Thanks for your answers

yslyung, you're right for the baby, I've read it here and he told me himself.
I've got 5 kids and I'm 40 so I think I know something about having new babys coming in; and that never stop me to check my mail and answer to the most importants: my clients.

That's said, I agree with you, the reason why I have not intented anything yet.
I will follow your advice; I'm gonna let him come back to me.

I will, of course, let evererybody here know about the issue of this story.

Keep on mining!!!

now that's a gentleman ... be patient, he will come back to you. try to PM him again.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Data Center Mining Garage and Man Mining Cave on: February 10, 2017, 11:38:23 PM
congrats to OP !! awesome build & much work done especially the PASSION.

I do build my own rigs & so called DIY DC as i'm also a DIY man.

Following your thread, much to learn. Sharing a rig that i built "lucky7" (same mobo), rig is sold to the highest bidder in my little telegram group. Will build couple more of them with improvements soon.

Hello to All,

Unfortunaly I can't say the same for my experience with J4bberw0ck himself.
Since My first post to find a way to contact him on january 18, I send him a pm here on 20, following the instructions of HagssFIN, and get in touch with him on 21.

Then I wait until january 27 for him to come back to me with the precise quote and ways of payment accepted; I made the payment of my order that same day via Paypal.

From this moment, I never heard again for him, althought he told me that all my order was in stock (5 common slot board and 30 cables 60cm).
I have try to know what's going on by sending him multiple messages from here, to his personal mail, and by phone message, but no way, No Answer!

If you follow the story, it's been 14 days now from the payment that I not have any news from J4bberw0ck and of my order.

From what I've read here, J4bberw0ck not seems to act like that usually, but what should I think when after 2 weeks and several mails, I still have no news from the guy?
And for me, the methods are very similar to what scammers do.

My last message to him was yesterday in which I was telling him that without any news from him in 24 hours, I will fill an complaint at the police department and report this order as non deliver in Paypal then let all the community know how J4bberww0ck now act with the clients.

That's said, I'm not excluding that something can going wrong on his side (health, family, business, etc), but man, we doing business; I'm loosing money with that order who is not arriving and he takes the cash so no matter what, he needs to get his client informed.

So Please, Let me know what do you think should I do?

what an idiot !

i & many here would vouch for J4bberww0ck, i've purchased over USD 1000 from the man.

he delivers & if you know how to READ, he's definitely busy with his 3rd daughter. imo family comes first.

be nice. just be patient, he will come back to u.

it dont work in my group for calculate but for exchange rates, it works . .

when i start the bot, start page calcualte & exchange rate comes up on the typing area.

click on claculate then the command comes out so i click on the algo i want to know then only the command comes out, nothing happens (but it works well if i'm using the bot directly)

**maybe i'm missing some commands or don;t know how to use it well** can you show some instructions with screenshots ?

-update ... seems like bot does not reply back to my enquiries for algo selected & i don't get a hashrate window . . .

but on exchange, rate bot, support dev's, it all works well.

thx for contributing to the community

All my ZEC rigs just locked up all at once. No idea if the pool died or not but it was a hard reset.

Had to physically yank the power cord from wall and replug.

Upon checking log, they all got the Temperature 511 error. So I dont think its a hardware issue since every rig got this error all at the same time.

Anyone got this issue also?

it is a HW issue mate. check your risers & gpu these 2 are the main culprit.
