143  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to prevent reverse airdrop scam? on: November 08, 2018, 11:48:42 PM
Don't do airdrops based on social media accounts! Make airdrop based on holding some other asset at given time.

Like CLAM (every address holding BTC, LTC or DOGE in may 2014 received 4.6 CLAMs) or RHT (NEO address holding between 1 and 99 NEO in dec 2017 received 1 RTH) ...
144  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔶 YOLOdice.com 🔶 FAST, fair, BTC, LTC, ETH, now with DOGE!!! on: November 08, 2018, 06:02:00 PM

YES, THE WAIT IS OVER!

The minimum investment amount is 0.1 LTC. You can use leverage up to x10, this would boost your investment effective value to 1 LTC.
So far the site has won over 3,600 LTC, some of that during the competitions. But I think it's a good indication that things will go in the right direction.

Good luck and thanks for your trust!

Cheers,
Ethan

AWESOME !!!
Thanks

145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My own mining machine would be faster than professional miners? on: November 08, 2018, 05:10:11 PM
Whether or not and under what circumstances my own mining machine would be faster than professional miners?

The only condition is to develop chip that can solve sha256 faster (more effectively) than any other competitors chip. But this area was already explored by huge companies. Prepare couple of millions USDs for development and manufacture. Also be able to bear the risk you will not succeed.

I am looking for if we implement a bitcoin mining device can increase our transaction speed?. Right now we are not running any mining at the moment.
Short answer: no.
If you want faster transactions, you'll have to increase the fees you use. If you want blocks to be found faster, running your own mining hardware isn't going to change that at all.

Thank you for your update.
Is there any way I can track my current bitcoin incoming transaction speed?

I assume (based on your questions) that you do not understand how all this works.
Your transaction needs to be confirmed ( included in block ).
New block is found every ten minutes (in average) ... this timeframe is hardcoded in source code. There is also hardcoded formula which adjusts mining difficulty every 2016 blocks. So e.g. in case last 2016 blocks were found too quickly  (let's say 5 minutes average time beteween each block) the difficulty going to rise. And vice versa (if it took to much time to find those 2016 block the mining difficulty drops).
By this I wanted to say it does not matter how powerfull your miner is because bitcoin protocol is "self-adjusting" to keep the block time 10 minutes (in average).
find more info here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Difficulty

As LoyceV said. You would need to use higher ( above average ) tx fee so mires would include your transaction asap (in first block they find) ... but still you are limited by above said (10 minutes between blocks).

What you can do to measure speed?
Measure how long (in seconds) you transaction was in mempool (is't the place where all unconfirmed transactions are stored)
Snapshot:
A)-timestamp you receive transaction
B)-timestamp tx was confirmed (included in block)
Then: B - A = your transation time in seconds

or

use block heights:
Make snapshot:
C)-current blockheight (at time the transaction was sent)
D)-height of block where that transaction is included
Then: D - C  = number of blocks it took to confirm

147  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS][PRC/CHINA] - Antminer S9 (2x) on: November 07, 2018, 02:07:59 AM
At hashnest I have remaining 23,5 THs of S9 and expecting I'll be asked to redeem the hardware soon. I don't want to ship them to europe and redemption period going to be limited (it's a week or so)  thus checking interest in advance (preferably someone in china or nearby region).

Problems are:
I don't know if I'm selling two S9s or just single one (23.5 THs are two miners 11.5 or maybe it will be just one miner from newer batch).
I don't know when (redemption period should start after 10 continuous days of electricity fees greater than revenues)
I don't know shipping costs ( sender is bitmain so it shouldn't be expensive, if you ever bought miners from them you know the costs already )
I don't know handling fee ( there should be some handling costs as well), if this will be too high I won't redeem the HW at all.
I don't even know in what shape miners will be (according conditions should be clean and working ...)
What I do know is I don't want leave them to bitmain.

Going to sell them very cheap but you'll have to cover the shipping costs and handling fee.

Let me know if interested. Drop PM or post here and I will contact you when redemption period starts (hopefully handling fees will be known that time).
Accepting BTC,LTC,ETH, NEO, XMR ... maybe some others. Escrow accepted (you cover the fees).

Update 21.11.2018
Redemption period should start in three days.

I though minimum was 0.005. Although, I have to say I haven’t been on iy recently since its blocked by my isp along with VPN’s so I’d have to go to other people’s houses to check it...

But yes 50000 or 100000 sounds about right.

minimum investment is 0.001 BTC

to be honest I was hoping to see investments open for both LTC and ETH before adding new coins , personally I find more value holding LTC and ETH than holding DOGE so not sure why the owners decided to add DOGE and make it public for investors while still not opening LTC and ETH

still wondering as well why no investor based site added one of the top coins like NEO or ADA , while almost all of these sites have DOGE as an option

do we have some stats if people would prefer to gamble NEO for example ?
I was also waiting for the LTC and ETH invest option. Apparently admins have enough to provide nice bankroll. Also was mentioned this way they can offer more attractive rewards for wagering competitions.

Doge is very popular among gamblers. I think it's because almost anybody can gamble hundreds, thousands and more units ( not some 0.001 BTC, 0.1 LTC and similar )  .... it just looks nice to see such large numbers  Cheesy

About NEO invest. IMO it's actually better to hold them in your own wallet due to various airdrops and neogas ...  but option to gamble them would be great.
BTW, at crypto-games you can invest neogas (but wagering is minimal).

I have been away for a while and was wondering if the Pi version of BFG miner has been upgraded with the auto restart yet? I have not seen any chatter on this since my last post.

Yes, it was updated. If something goes wrong you should get message: "ASIC has stopped hashing, attempting to restart".

New driver release is out, sorry for the delay and thanks for being patient. I added some last minute debugging code to better help people with issue and rule out any hardware problems. The compile binaries include the big restart fix, so these should technically hash forever without needing any manual restarts (as long as the power supply is semi-stable and you haven't really screwed up the voltages).

Let me know if the binaries run fine on respective systems...might have mis-compiled something while trying to keep track of every architecture  Undecided

thanx for your responses.  Yes, Windows was updated so I had high hopes to your responses.  But after uninstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling it still didn't work.  The lights don't flash at all.  they just stay a consistent green.

Guess you still get the"NO DEVICES FOUND:" message. Right?
When you plug moonlanders in USB, can you see them in windows "Devices and Printers"?  There should be some "Silicon labs device" or so.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Moonlanders have stopped working after less than a month on: October 22, 2018, 09:12:48 PM
I bought them at the Maker Faire in NY and I had no trouble setting them up.  But about two weeks ago they both stopped working.

Here is the message:

What is going on?

It's OK ... see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=910629.0
But you should take care of the: "NO DEVICES FOUND: Press 'M' and '+' to add" message
154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My Trader/Investor wants to pay me with Bitcoin on: October 22, 2018, 03:51:25 AM
Electrum is good choice and receving funds is really simple. All you need is to provide trader with your BTC address (which you get from electrum).
!!! don't forget to backup your wallet seed and store it at safe place !!!

As of conversion to fiat you first have to send those bitcoins to exchange and sell them. Also note you need to provide your bank account and most probably you'll have to go through identity verification (KYC) which can take some time. It's better do it sooner than later (because when you decide to sell them only time it takes is BTC transaction and fiat transfer to your bank).

Alternatively you can check some peer to peer marketplace like localbitcoins.com where you can also find people to trade cash.

Some exchanges to look at: kraken.com, bitstamp.net, coinbase.com
155  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Moonlander 2 Driver and Support Thread on: October 22, 2018, 12:13:39 AM
That sorted it! Thanks. TBH, I had a look around their website and did not found this information, not even mentioning bfgminer.conf file. I applied these settings to my existing config manually and everything is working now Smiley
You're welcome.  So new competitor in game huh?  Grin

Just small warning. Couple of renters are using some wrong settings, weird pools or I don't know what but hashrate drops resulting in rental dispute and partial refund so don't be surprised (happened to me several times during last few weeks).
It's better to open ticket and stop this rental ASAP (so you can mine on your pool or rent to someone else).

0.00002500 BTC = 0.16 USD

0.24747500BTC = 1600.00 USD

I think this is highest multiplier I've seen so far. Can you tell whether it was from faucet earning?
If so then it's pretty amazing and this guy is superlucky (or superhacker).

... I came here to understand more about crptocurrency...
Sorry, but your history indicates you're here for bounties (1 post to promote to newbie and then bounty, bounty, bounty, topic ... and again bounty, bounty, bounty ...).
And yes, I think you are spammer. Nonspammer (person who actually care about the project he's going to promote) would definitely not follow so many bounties as you.

The problem with guys like you is they are not only spam this forum. But also twitter, discord, facebook ... you name it. I had to unfollow so many people due to this neverending spam.
Who the hell is following some bounty hunter these days. Only another hunters. So they are tweeting among themselves and thats all. I just hope one day bounty managers (of serious projects) realize this is not what they want and this whole thing cease to exist.

If the project is good and can offer anything new, interesting I'll happily spread the word for free.  Well, this approach brings very slow influx of new users but IMO still better than what is it now.
159  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Moonlander 2 Driver and Support Thread on: October 21, 2018, 09:00:26 PM
I am asking about average money which you earn per month.

At this difficulty with one Moonlander: 0,01 € for 24 hours. 0,34 € for 30 days.
0,0073 Litecoin.

I'm mining via MRR and renting them at quite good prices. For ex. recently received 0.0017 LTC for 6 hours (single MLD2)  ... thats like 0.007 LTC daily.
The thing is to set the price pretty high (not too much) so miner won't be rented all the time (only during demand peaks). If not rented you are mining at your defined pools.
Definitely recommending that site.

I am trying to configure my sticks to mine there too. However, bfgminer which I am using (bfgminer 5.4.2-38, original from jstefanop) is sending me errors:
Code:

How to disable coinbase-check or other checks in bfgminer?

Have you set: --no-gbt --no-getwork  ?? (MRR state that in bold)
I'm using same miner (released 14-dec-2017) and just copied conf. settings from their site.
160  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Information about changed password/email on: October 21, 2018, 08:36:02 PM
That's a negative feedback/red trust and it's to warn you not to trade(trade with caution) with that person at all, as he/she could be fraudulent/scammer

Those feedbacks are left by people who have traded with that person in the past and obviously it didn't go so well, a user who changes email/password frequently may be doing so to clear off some traces of previous scammy activities

Negative feedback/red trust cannot be removed except by the user/DT that put it
I didnt mean the trust ratings, I was asking about the messages that appear saying:
This user's password was reset recently.
This user's email address was changed recently.

That's just a notice indicating this account might be hacked, bought and similar ...
Everyone who change his pass or mail wears this notification for few days. (3 days password change, 30 days email change)
see: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=827927.0

If you are trying to make some deal then better ask him to prove the original ownership. e.g. Search for some of his old unedited or quoted post where he published BTC address and ask him to sign a message using that address.
Here's specific topic for such purposes: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996318.0  (You can stake your address as well. Practice message signing and helps you to recover your account if something goes wrong)
