Is there purposeful throttling going on here to cause a more equitable mining potential landscape? that is exactly the dev's objective i'm running a desktop w/3 cores@2.8ghz/8gig ram and a lappy w/a single core @2.2/3gig, desktop generated ~7k coins using 30-50% cpu, the lappy 6k coins using about ~75% cpu. looks like you did it John! PoS should kick in +1/2 a day Ya but didn't you hear we don't get to keep any of these coins that successfully did what the Dev was trying to do apparently? Which I'm sorry if I came across harsh about it but I only just began mining a little while ago and this was one coin that was actually working pretty well right from the get go so I figured that since that is what he was testing that we would just have a wallet update and continue mining just as we are doing right now Don't you think that is the best solution for both worlds?? Everyone mining the coin is getting roughly the exact same hashrate so it's really pretty evenly distributed in my opinion But I guess that's for the Dev to officially decide dude as above earlier in the week a failed launch and we all lost coins. the blockchain was reset several times. this test was designed to avoid a repeat of that, it was announced as a test. this event isn't happening on the regular internet, more like a vpn i guess. fake coins if you will

mebe split the drive 20gB/40gB/4gB, make 20gB=/, 40gB=/home, 4gB swap. (make swap bigger if you have more RAM) that way if you have to re-install you can do so without formatting the /home drive, preserving programs and settings, eMails, pictures ... [edit] and oh yeah - coins! i usually make root dirs @17 - 20 GB in linux, always been enough ...

its 5:30am GMT on the 19th looks like were pushed back? also with the "farness" in the algo are you suggesting we mine with 1 thread as opposed to 4 or 8 or 12
Yes that is a very good question and I appreciate someone asking that from the website: × Launch will start December 19'th 2014 at 5AM UTC. dev says it doesn't matter! asic, gpu, 172 cores, all the same

I assume you know the old saying about it not being paranoia when someone is genuinely out to get you? Well, the lads from CCN did put a major effort into trying to burn down CannabisCoin that they did do. multiple back stabs and hard hits below the belt. and all that after offering a handshake. Everyone keeps saying stuff like this without backing it up. As someone who has no idea what happened I'd like to make my own judgements by seeing the evidence. Can anyone help fill me in and show me what happened? These threads are a mess. you are correct to criticize, but the info is all there, but it would be hours of research ... (and i have no agenda with either cann or ccn) just start reading on page one in the unmoderated thread ... ... look for the serious fudding to start a few days b4 ~10/20

I'm looking for an old computer that still works. I think I have some old dual cores in the basement at work... but.. thats too far away.
Maybe we should be using the 32bit windows version instead?
John, I think you should forget about the low power cpu thing. It looks like its broken and by now most people have Core I5 or I7. I don't mind all this testing either.
no prob here either, i was running my desktop (64 bit 3-core/8-gig) cought 1 blk, plus a 32 bit single core/2-gig machine grabbed 1 blk also on the 2nd reset. the lappie only managed about 100 khps tho @ john, hell ya lets do this (take what time u need and do it right)

Ok thanks.
For whatever reason that folder doesn't exist on my computer even though I already ran the old Vanillacoin client.
Since that folder isn't there I should just try running the new one and hope for the best I guess?
both win and lin use hidden folders. i imagine mac does too? un-hide those bad boys

Ok, everything is ready for download, again. Make sure you delete the old blockchain.
This should be an interesting experiment.
Thanks for your support.
Quite an interesting experiment already, so interesting it crashes now that you updated it.... Are you trying to mine before sync? shadow-runner i got same error when i started the wallet on my lappy without first deleting the roaming folder
