Magnetz is a new cryptocurrency which aims to use the blockchain as the biggest torrent repository in the world, taking over website likes kickasstorrents, piratebay and monova.

2-3/01/15 - Blockchain torrent search engine (alpha version) is released, dev team starts adding magnet links in the blockchain

Good question! Magnet links will be attached to transactions and they will stay written in the blockchain forever, when the open source search engine is out the dev team will be adding the existing torrents to the blockchain (+-4M torrents) and we will have a torrent-adding bot to add the latest torrents to the blockchain. Users can also add their own magnet links to the blockchain. This prevents the global torrent database from being taken down.

so, with all those magnet links being inputted, how is the dev team going to protect the blockchain from spam, fake movies, virus infected torrents, etc.? i understand that there will be a small? fee in the future for uploading links, but how will you moderate the existing db?

1346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ECCoin (ECC) Takeover by Trusted-Cryptos Team [Griffith] on: December 24, 2014, 11:35:35 AM
Griffith only solve the technical problems, ECC needs marketing

All technical problems need to be solved before any marketing starts.
Our wallet needs to be 100% flawless, with some new features implemented before we even think of promoting ECC again.
Anyway, that's my opinion...

prices are still going down mean?  Grin
Prices going down means cheaper meds for patients!  Smiley

ignorance of truth  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
CANN movement is about the low priced medicine for patients; ergo, the lower the price, the better it is for patients. It's been stated ad nauseam that increasing the coin's price is not important to, nor a goal of, the development team.

This would make sense if the price of BTC was +1000 usd....at this price, "cheap" isn't the right word...we should just say its FREE.

All so impatient  Roll Eyes

cevarius is right. Making CANN holders/"investors" wealthy is obviously not a priority goal of ∆9 or at least it should be obvious to anyone who actually reads the OP.

For those only seeking monetary returns, you will profit from holding CANN if you have patience and recognize that setting up grows, actually growing crops, drying and distributing takes time and effort. Once a few crops have been distributed, more donated CANNdy exchanged for CANN and more dispensaries involved in day to day usage of CANN then the fiat exchange rate will likely grow very rapidly and profit-takers can exit with fat purses.

In the U.S. Christmas celebrations divert significant spending so I would anticipate a quiet and somewhat depressed altcoin market generally - price watchers should expect declines until the new year. Note too that PayCoin has absorbed a lot of speculative funds which had to be diverted from somewhere.

If it helps temper your impatience remember that CANN has already achieved something most coins never will, real-world use. Note too that it is a solid front-page item on Bittrex with a couple of hundred BitCoin trade each week. If you are truly desperate for some return from your CANN holdings then consider swing trading a coin with such a healthy turnover.

When (not "if") CANN reaches near-parity pricing, the goal so hungrily sought by some, it will still be facilitating easier access to their medications for medical marijuana patients and greatly easing the cash-hassle experienced by dispensaries and so it will still meet its goal of being all about the patients, no matter how high the price eventually rises. What is less certain is that it will satisfy the incessant demands of profit-seekers. Without doubt it will not rise "high enough" or do so "soon enough" to suit some but ∆9's efforts are bearing fruit already. Grows are being established, as is the CANNlab where more CANNdy varieties will be developed, point-of-sale has been tested and is functioning, more growers are committing to the movement and work continues diligently.

Remember that the pre-Ann for CannabisCoin and the Yes We CANN movement was a mere 10 months ago and if your expectations are at all realistic you will see progress has been magnificent.

As ∆9 said to me only hours ago: "Everyone wants to be rich yesterday. Patience and persistence will prove itself." So there's your money quote from the man himself, be patient and hang in there.

Seasons Greetings to all from the land down-under Smiley

Any transaction in terms of bitcoin will be taxed the same way that if a transaction occurred in terms of dollars.
you think? someone in south africa buys a sweater with bitcoin - he has to pay us gov for the privilege? now i'm from new york ... what's the difference? for both of us the btc lives on the blockchain ...

i think the only way the fed can tax btc is when you trade it for fiat then deposit said currency into a bank account. at that you have created 'income', which the fed has been illegally taxing for some time. though it could be argued that you had to work to acquire the bitcoin, and work some more to trade it, therefore it is not 'income', rather 'trade', which is not taxable, but then they've convinced ppl that it is income because you've recieved something. you did recieve something, but you traded your time and effort, leaving a balanced equasion, not taxable 'income'. interest on a bank account is taxable income, so are tips and gifts. (under rule of law, that is) 'they' try to convince us that 'they' represent rule of law, it is one of their biggest lies.

I do not understand why people think that spending bitcoin somehow magically causes the fed and the military to somehow become weaker

no magic involved, support of F.R.N. fiat currency = support of the military-industrial complex.

1351  Other / Politics & Society / Re: North Korea threatens "merciless" response over Seth Rogen film on: December 22, 2014, 07:45:04 PM
just smoking, but who do you all suppose created isis. CIA? Mossad? ain't it funny the way new 'enemies' just keep poppin' up? very convenient for the Military-Industrial Complex.
someone brought up a good point the other day. every dollar/pound/yen/wateva you spend on BTC takes that much away from the war machine. Hell ya

You don't think the bit coin will be regulated and taxed?

honestly it is a mystery to me what 'they' will do. i'm very surprised at the mood of acceptance that seems to come from gov bigwigs. of course they want to control it or kill it, -i think- or maybe for them it (bitcoin) is a stepping stone for their own digital plans. trying to keep my head up and eyes open, what do you think?

one thing i will say is i think cryptocurrency will never ever be 'legal tender'. at least as long as the ppl, not the governments own it. nor i think would we want it to be. choice is good!

@groggin:
Hi, Does it makes sense to add Allcrypt to the OP / Website? I've never used them, are they trustworthy?

honestly i don't know if they are 'honerable', but i will eventually find out i suppose! until then i will honor the benefit of the doubt. my losses with them are 1m+ KARM and 10m+ CCX plus <1/2m ZEIT on hold. now the day i went to tx these other 2 coins to my wallet, it was just maybe a week or so after the karma dev 'went on sabbatacal' (price crash and unstable blockchain) and same for CCX, low interest in the coin, the blockchain unstable. i'd spent abt 2 days prodding the 2 wallets until eventually both were in synch with online bExs. ofcourse when i arrived at allcrypt the wallets were greyed out like zeitcoin is atm. that i was ok with, i could wait ... but now they are just gone. i've asked them if maybe we can work something out, they have not addressed my question, but obviously there'd have to be some life in the chains ...

so when i saw zeit go grey i had a ticket opened immediately, bitched a little about my losses and concerns, and now you know the rest. as i said, i continue to trade there, fingers crossed.

however i would not suggest to add them to the OP until ZEIT is at liberty again  Wink (i don't mind sharing responsibility for shaky blockchains, (but they should still have my coins, wallet.dats take up little enough space ... oh yeah! i forgot - they admitted to loosing a bunch of CCX on a bad fork or something, but i think that that's not really my problem) and their bruised zeit wallet should be of no concern to me! plenty of zeits out there ...)

[edit] i sent Allcrypt support a copy of this post in a reply on my ticket, with link and an invitation to comment. thanks for helping me clear the air  Cool

sent 29 coins after 3 retries , still problem with unspecified error
I just sent you 900 coins successfully.

Thank you for your support.

Ok, that was you  Grin

So release date is final 23.12.2014 ?

just wondering how dev could send more than 300 when no one else could? what is causing the error?

so am i the only dude with a bag stuck on Allcrypt? wtf
Hi Groggin,
I think alot of people have zeit stuck at Allcrypt, but they are not checking the forums.
I think those really large wallets in the rich list that have not accessed for 88 days, might belong to Allcrypt.
Did they ever get their wallet working so you could get your zeitcoins?

 Cool

 hi kiklo
nah - my last talk with support was 10th of nov. when they said they'd found out that their wallet had been corrupted. you may recall that there were some other issues too - thought it might be good to just let it cool for a while. i'm still using the exchange, (despite being invited not to ..), but between minty and allcrypt seems i'v had a pretty good share of bad luck. always darkest just before dawn i guess. still hoping for some good news
