have i got this right? i want to make some paper wallets for xmas.
i think that i would:
create a new address and label it
send an amount of coins to that address
then on the cli put:
dumpprivkey <insert labeled address here>
print the 2 addys on a pretty peice of paper

is that it?  thanks  Wink

That would work. The wallet.dat file would still have the private keys though, so if someone got that wallet.dat file then they could take the coins out of your paper wallet.

Why not use this site: http://hempcoin-paper-wallet.github.io/hempcoin-paper-wallet/

It's all javascript so you can download the page, inspect the code and run it locally if you are scared of a security.

I would suggest playing around with it a bit for fun. Send 0.00000001 THC to a generated public wallet address, importprivkey and see how it goes.

BTW I use this site often: http://cryptolife.net/upwg/
It's a useful tool for coins without paper wallet generators. It's a universal paper wallet creator.

thanks for that man - i'd thought that the dump command meant that the wallet would "forget" the privkey. so what is the difference between dump and export?

Any chance of putting some mini game to earn gold faster then just keep waiting?

It has been suggested before and I am investigating the options.
Developing such a game is not something I can do myself (if it is meant as a flash/java game), and it will be expensive to hire a third party.

That being said, I am still considering this as an option.

Well, it doesn't need to be really complicated or using flash or java. It can just be as simple as click.

For example, while you were mining. Some giant lizard approach and it looks fat, like he has eaten some gold. Click 10 times to kill it (tata, the giant lizard drop 10 gold).

or a saloon nearby w/a tip-bot bar-keep and some pretty girls upstairs? no, need be more famly friendly ...  kinda links to the ads tho

Has anyone tried running 32 bit version for longer time, like 24 hours or longer? My older laptop restarted while I was at work while newer one with 64 bit OS works fine. I'm 90% sure that older laptop didn't overheat. Haven't started stacking yet, First block was mined ~16 hours ago.

@Dev - I have some nice suggestions about GUI, I could make a maket in Visual Studio and just a plain layout in c++ if You want. P.S. I know that coding GUI in c++ is pain in the ass Cheesy

my laptop is running 32 bit win vista for about 23 hrs atm with no problem, except no stake showing up on either machine. maybe a windows update rebooted you?
