                                    ...

Do people really want this to be a PoS+PoW clone of Novacoin?

  maybe ...
i'm no coder and this is a question for one, but VNL is deving a new type of network functionality for peercoin offspring. if i understand it right it might be easy to port THC to this protocall, (dev is available for help on irc) and we might enjoy instant transactions (less than 1 second - respendable) and full staking wallets for portable devices (that use only micro-amps (battery lasts days) it'd be gr8 if someone with enough experience w/coding would have a look.

               ...

The issue is this Vanilla coin walks all over coins like Dash and Monero which has the biggest bunch of assholes as supporters and will attack with vengence anything that threatens their territory. But if your smart you will know they are buying as well. haha

it has been apparent since a long time that VNL would be upsetting more than a few apple carts, strap on the hip-boots guys it's getting kinda thick in here, prolly might get worse before it gets better ...

Like people care about a developers personality if they think a coin is brilliant and makes them money.....groan.

Personally his personality is more patient than I would be. Actually his Trump like behaviour tell me one thing.....he does not give a shit what people think....ie he isn't trying to fool anyone. If you want a friendly developer I heard Tittie coin is a nice guy.

Congratulations. Does this tech work? Not buying at these prices, but it might be a good signal once bottomed out again.

if you like HBN because it has solid tech backed by a real dev, you gonna love VNL    Smiley

You can run like endless wallets with a simple command in a bat file. ..

share? i've tried telling the client to use a different data folder (with other coin) (--data-dir path/to/some_other/dir) in the startup .bat, but no workee

-correction, i tried it in the target field of the prop. dialog

Is the Dev still kicking around? If so maybe he should look into doing something with SpartanCoin where they start burning the supply and that would make more people interested in buying SpartanCoin Smiley Cheers

i think there's a purpose for 50 b coin. that many would be distributed first to a few, eventually ... millions? of ppl. enough after all so every body on the planet can keep 7 and owe no one ...   a curency's strength comes from it's holders, and this one can have lots of holders. can't be in a rush tho, need to keep trading ... we're lucky to have a home at cryptopia ... keep trading those SPNolas
Are you the Dev mate? I'm just curious because it would be nice to see SpartanCoin get some more attention with the coin supply that it has and trade more on other exchanges as well Wink Cheers

ha no - someone on the exchange gave me 100k SPN abt a month ago so i started trading. ppl are buying, so it is good, i'm not expecting to forge a fortune here, but if spn survives a few years, it's a possibility   Wink
my point being that within the existing crtpto paradigm, high volume output curancies (DOGE, RDD, MZC) need a lot of buyers, for a long time, but if successful will be much stronger than their low volume kin, so time is an important factor in the equation, patience needed, imo the high # of coin is an asset, not a liability. (look at what zeit is doing)

your idea of destroying some SPN has some merit too, but keeping things simple might be a more Spartan wtg   Wink

1037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Guncoin(GUN) - New NeoScrypt Algorithm on: July 31, 2015, 11:18:24 PM
thanks for the responses, had to check my .bat and i did type it wrong; i am using SGminer-5-dev-neoscrypt-windows-new2 also, typ0 fixed but the client still crashes. not sure what else to try, recent install of windows, everything up to date, no extra spaces in the comand line, well anyway, this at least is now correct it seems to me:

setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
Color 0a
sgminer.exe --device 1 --remove-disabled -I 13 -o stratum+tcp://pools2.cryptopia.co.nz:5072 -u x -p x

thanks again   Smiley

Best to remove the -I 13 from the batch file and control it from the .conf file instead.

Also, SGminer5 has an issue calling devices other than device 0.  If you want to control a single device that isn't 0, set them all to 0 except the device used to mine in the .conf.

tried it without the -I/-- intensity, no change, pointed it to the r-9, program crashed.

i'm day trading gun every day and will continue to do so, slowly gaining on it  Smiley don't want to try changing driver or sdk ver as things are working well otherwise...  thanks for trying!

-  Is the technology completely new and needed?   VNL solves many of the difficulties associated w/BTC
- Is it completely open source and the development transparent?  AFAIK, open and transparent
- Was the launch also totally transparent and fair?  i was there and yes it was
- Is the distribution such that the intent is to distribute the coins widely to those willing to work for them (as opposed to making a few insiders rich)?    100% emphatacally YES
- Can this coin feasibly scale and grow in the future?   from my time spent lurking in irc, scalability is not a problem

 go to
https://www.poloniex.com/exchange#btc_vnl

and zoom out all the way. look at the graph. is there any sign of massive dumping? (how i wish there was, lol)

also, coin++, dark++ will enable other curancys to benefit from j.-c.'s work - should give a hefty lift to the alt scene imo
