14121  Other / Off-topic / Re: Silkroad 2.0 on: February 09, 2014, 01:09:35 PM
yeah silk road is probably the reason why most people even got their bitcoins in the first place. Grin haha

I wouldn't say "most". Lots of people did actually mine coins! But yes, a "certain proportion" of early adopters have provably gotten their coins from Silk Road.

I think it was about half Smiley

I really doubt it. I would say far less.
There were other  ways to spend your bitcoins (sd) and also lots of people used it for vpns and other www services.
And some never used their bitcoin on anything just stored them and waited.

If the fbi got their hands on all the activity on SR , if they decide to make some numbers public they will finally shed some light into it. But to many ifs.

14123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Florida men arrested for trading bitcoins!!!! on: February 09, 2014, 01:03:36 PM
Sounds like a made-up story. What kind of criminal would be that stupid to tell you the purpose of the bitcoin purchase? And who would be that stupid to believe such a claim and still sell coin to them?  Huh

It was a set up and that was their sting. They just got greedy.

Most of the crimes are committed by people getting to greedy for their own safety and forgetting about laws for some quick $$$.
And as many people already said it , criminals are not always the smartest people in the world.

No "normal people" is interested in Dogecoin, only delusional retards who will end up badly burnt.

They say apples don't fall far from the tree... doge being an apple and bitcoin being the tree in this case.

There are good apples , and bad apples. Good ones that get pick and eaten , bad ones that end up as fertilizer.

He said that this will happen , and I doubt we won't see this price.
It's a hype but it's not funny so it won't go up like doge.

This coin is dead.

Almost DEAD. Just look at pools, expl., website... No good. I think CAGE is going to crypto grave.

Good for the cryptos. We need more to take this path.

BTC withdrawals will be fixed in a few days and you trolls will all look very silly.

That;s what I considered in a previous post too , but..
If things aren't resolved on Monday Tuesday , a shitstorm is going to wreck the exchangers.
14129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: February 09, 2014, 11:11:19 AM
Not yet, but keep the death watch on Wink

Is this scamcoin dead ?

it wont die, just deal with it. Im also mad because of the failed launch, but now it seems quite cheap. I guess its time to buy.

Yeah , buy lots. It's good for you!!!!  Sell your home and buy maxcoins , that's the future. Nothing can go wrong with it.

Not yet, but keep the death watch on Wink

Is this scamcoin dead ?

why it should be dead?

Because it's a pump coin with a failed launch and a known manipulator behind it. Also , nothing new about the coin , just the usual facelift.

Why is the price going back to around 1500 satoshis?  Huh

BTC is going down , and usually all the alt coins follow with the trend.
Monday might be a storm.
14132  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CAGE] CageCoin - Powered by Nicolas Cage - COINEDUP - Back from the dead! on: February 08, 2014, 04:20:50 PM
It's simple....douche did a pump and dump. Once he dumped the premined coins, he made a new account and new coin.

Doubt we'll be hearing from him again (atleast on this account anyway)

If this is indeed the case then I am very sorry to hear about it. Has this been confirmed or ascertained?

I read somewhere that 0.075% coins were pre-mined so I cannot see the logic in him pumping/dumping with less than 1% pre-mined. Anyway, I wish this coin skyrockets because I have a a substantial amount.

Wish you all success in taking it forward.

I see the reasons you want it to skyrocket.... but do you know any reasons for it to actually skyrocket?

None yet but if development continues and price stays low then investors should start snapping it up.

That reason is called wishful thinking

Someone tell me ?Why maxcoin so hoooooooooooooooooot ?

Because you have a fever.
14134  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is going on at GOX! on: February 08, 2014, 03:19:27 PM
I'm almost willing to bet that Monday will come , withdraws will resume , and people panicking now will just look on how Gox trolled them again , and got their coins at half price after selling them at +20%.

If I was a Gox customer. As soon as I had a chance to get my capital out of Gox, it would be gone.

'Gox trolled them again'.

Bullshit. This is very very harmful for Gox and even if they aren't insolvent, they are still dead.

The above move , if executed correctly would really help their financial problems.
And don't call them dead yet. Bad things have a habit of not willing to die easily.

Edit:
Funny how searching for "to die" because of this idiotic plugin corrector , I run across this:
http://www.antipope.org/charlie/blog-static/2013/12/why-i-want-bitcoin-to-die-in-a.html   3rd results with my normal ip and second page with tor when searching for "to die" with google.

Can someone tell me why this coin is so valuable after 2 days? Or what purpose it serves besides making its creator rich really fast ?

The sheep effect.
14136  Economy / Speculation / Re: i put almost all my money and lost a lot on: February 08, 2014, 03:01:43 PM
Every time there is a tiny crash , some people appear out of nowhere and claim they have lost everything because of the crash , savings, wife , job , dog .
Surprisingly enough , none of them come before and said it > "I've invested all my money in BTC".

Also , seems like you lost also 90% of your posts.

Unclear to me when this "open ponzi" is (officially) going to collapse or end.
Or the "official" goal is to never end, simply dilating more and more the payouts?

Anyway I see no reason to play this instead of coinbomb...

give it a few days. Smiley
Or when somebody will be stupid enough to send enough btc to make the owner happy and close the shop.

Why is he not receiving any interest on that? And not sure putting all or a lot of your wealth into BTC is a foolproof plan at the moment.

I dont know why.  That is a direct quote from the article, maybe you could read it and see if he elaborates on that point.

Or maybe you could just tell me and save me from reading.

Is reading that dangerous?
