Other than the profit target, I really don't think there will be a 2nd reason why people enter this market. There are a lot of profitable markets like stocks or forex, but cryptocurrencies are more profitable, and I think that's why we are here.
Many people say they are here for the technology, for the crypto revolution, but I really don't believe it because if it's not in their favor, they won't waste time or risk money with it. Nowadays, people live very pragmatically, if there is no benefit, they will not participate.
That could be true for those joining this market today, but I really think that when bitcoin was at its early stages and there was no way to know if it will succeed at all that, those that joined the market and this forum did so because they truly believed in the technology and they were nowhere near as interested in obtaining profits, which is interesting to say the least as even if they were not that interested in the profits they could get they are the ones which have benefited the most out of this market.

Are you interested in profits? And you can also see that on all the social networks, and even on this forum, bitcoin's price is the most discussed topic. So if they only care about technology and not about profit is a lie. As I said, no one wants to waste their time or risk their money on something without profit. The success of bitcoin is still a mystery, but if successful, it will bring them a huge profit, so they are willing to take the risk.

1423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why people are always interested in altcoins on: January 28, 2023, 09:29:25 AM

Bitcoins are for long term only and altcoins are for short term trades. The top altcoins with high volume will pay off a lot when we know how to exploit them. Every fluctuation can be used as an advantage. High risk but also with high returns.
People choosing Altcoins should be familiar with the character of each altcoin, and it is safer to be with the top altcoins and developments that are clear for the future. Don't just choose altcoins based on other people's stories.

I don't really agree with the statement, that Bitcoin is only for a longterm investment and i also strongly disagree that altcoins are only good for a short term investment strategy. Yes it is true, that you can generate higher profits while daytrading altcoins because the price fluctuations of altcoin projects are usually significantly higher than the fluctuation of altcoin.
It is also true though, that there are already dozens of very good and strong altcoin projects out there that should still do very well in the next 5 or 10 years and that are very much suitable for a longterm hold. I think that many of those altcoin projects have a higher grow potential than Bitcoin but of course the risk is also higher here to pick the wrong project.

Aside from ETH, I don't see any altcoins that could be long-term investments. So far, most altcoins have very short lifespans, and top altcoins are always replaced after every bear season. Only ETH is still the altcoin holding the 2nd position after many years.
Altcoins are not suitable for long-term investment, and I also don't think there will be any altcoin project that can grow more than bitcoin in the near future 5 years or 10 years.
1424  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 28, 2023, 06:47:38 AM
There's always been talks and intrigue about these 2 teams since the Mavs made an upset and knocked the Suns out in the playoffs in 2021. It seems like some Phoenix fans and maybe even Booker himself hasn't moved on yet.
That's why when these two teams meet again early in the season and the Suns won it after a big comeback, the celebration is like they truly got revenge on the Mavericks lol. They should really be bitter in their last year's playoffs exit as just imagined having the best record in the NBA and up by 2 wins in the playoffs against the Mavericks but still choking and losing it. And the worst, they allow the Mavericks to give them as much as 46 points behind, a literal choke.
I hope though that they will meet again in this year's playoffs to continue their rivalry, with no injuries and in a healthy lineup.
But this lost though, I mean no Luka but still the Dallas were able to escape and get that needed win against their rival. So this could be another huge lost for them mentally and it's worst for them.
Let's see about the Warriors hosted the Raptors, if the Curry incident is over now because as I have said, I didn't like this gestures here with his team mates and it might crack their chemistry this season.

Injuries are obviously a big problem in the NBA. I wish I could see Luca play a little more time in this game. He played only 3 minutes. I really hope that he was taken off because they wanted to make sure he doesn't get injured. In this game, Dinwiddie was great for the Mavericks. He scored 36 points for his team. And it was honestly a great match between both these teams.

It is going to be really great to see if they face each other again later. Because whenever these two teams play, the neutrals get their money's worth.
1425  Economy / Economics / Re: Can I take a loan to invest in bitcoin? on: January 28, 2023, 04:12:59 AM
There are a lot of threads here in the forum regarding this kind of question. Try to search it, but I would say the majority of people here will say no, but if you can pay it even if you lose it (not relying on getting profit on bitcoin as it is still not sure that you will gain profit), then take a loan. Just remember, are you willing to pay those loans or money even though you haven't held it or even used it? Then, if your feelings aren't hurt, take out a loan. But again, this is a bad move, and we have already warned you. Just save money instead of taking a loan.
Bitcoin is in fact much valuable than any other thing that people spend their money after they took the loan and then those things just disappear too quickly or can become obsolete over time but that won't ever happen with Bitcoin. Bitcoin is like a wine. The longer it gets, the better so why not? But, the loan amount shouldn't be too much that you will be having a hard time paying it.

I know most of us do have our jobs, so we can still be able to pay the loan without touching our Bitcoins but it will be better to take a loan when there is a dump and then you don't have a cash yet in your hands. This way you won't miss a good opportunity.

If you are so sure, why don't you sell your house, and sell all your assets to invest in bitcoin? To be fair, bitcoin is an extremely risky investment, we all just expect bitcoin to continue to rise in the future, but there is no proof of that for sure. Historically bitcoin has always rallied and hit ATH, but that doesn't mean 100% of history will repeat itself in the future.
Borrowing money to invest in bitcoin is like lending money for business, we can borrow but need to make sure that even if our investment fails, we can still repay those loans. Don't be too subjective that an investment will always be profitable without risk.
1426  Economy / Economics / Re: In your country, today is money the real root of all evil? on: January 28, 2023, 03:31:07 AM
We cannot arbitrarily conclude that money is a source of crime, we must look at other factors why people commit crimes that are far from the norms of life. I prefer to say that money is "one" of the causes of crime. Yes, indeed, not all crimes are committed by perpetrators with money motives.
Indeed, I do not deny that now, in this day and age people are blind and do things to get a piece of money. Yes, that's because their economy is difficult, and even people who have enough still commit crimes because they want money.

Everything you say comes from human behavior, so it can be said that human greed and envy are the root of evil, not money. Money is just a product created by humans, it is inanimate and only serves human purposes, some people use it for good purposes, but there are also people who use it for evil purposes. Therefore, it can be asserted that evil is man-made and not caused by something else.

But also have to admit, money is man-made, but the magic power of money is really too great, it can make people change just because of money.
1427  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping money and keeping bitcoins? are they similar? on: January 27, 2023, 02:12:30 PM
The massive awareness to keep bitcoins for as long as possible promotes people to develop the attitude of saving, just like saving money. Do you agree with this that people who are very good at saving money become very good at keeping bitcoins when they finally start doing cryptocurrency? Or do you feel that there is no similarity between keeping bitcoins and keeping money?

I think it will be different because they are 2 completely different asset classes. The value of fiat does not volatile, so it will be simpler to hold them, whereas bitcoin is a very volatile asset, so holding it will become more difficult and require a lot of patience, as well as controlling fear can hold bitcoin. It can be said that bitcoin is not for everyone, only those who like to take risks and take risks can invest and hold bitcoins, but saving money anyone can do it.
1428  Economy / Economics / Re: Track every rich person take on: January 27, 2023, 02:00:00 PM
I might be a little bit off today about this topic but just keeping it real as my experience suggests. Success is destined, no matter what some others do, they will not make it, while some with little effort make it more, so it's kind of beyond what we relate to it, it's more of the function of luck, grace and work/effort. But people tend to appreciate the effort/work more, and I agree that it's needed but more is needed. And what about those that did all they could right from their young ages to make it but they could not?

This makes me conclude that success is a mystery, yet I will always encourage people to make effort by giving it all it takes to succeed and letting fate do the rest.

I will agree with you on this thought, success is a mystery. Sometimes many people try, try a lot but never succeed, while many people don't put in too much effort and easily achieve success. There is no specific formula for success because everyone has different ways of being successful. To be honest, I don't want to follow or imitate any successful person because I believe that everyone's life is different, and cannot use a common formula. The best way is to keep trying and always get up after every fall, we will find success our way.
1429  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 27, 2023, 11:03:57 AM
Explain this, why is India going to care too much about the money that they get from ICC when it is only 4- 5% of the annual revenue that BCCI gets? India is more likely to choose mental warfare against Pakistan rather than getting the money that they get from ICC in my opinion. At least that's what the Indian cricket board thinks.

LOL.. because it is simply too big. $405 million for a 8-year period sounds small for you?

Last time, BCCI fought tooth and nail to get their share increased. Originally Srinivasan had proposed $570 million for the BCCI, by reducing the allocation for associate nations to zero. Then Shashank Manohar came to power and he changed it to $293 million. High voltage drama followed for the next 12 months or so, and the BCCI at one point even threatened to pull out from all the ICC events. Finally a compromise deal was reached and the allocation for BCCI was again increased to $405 million, by reducing the share for associates.

Now tell me whether you still think that BCCI wouldn't care much about the grants from ICC.  Grin

I understand that it is too big of an amount. But when it comes to between being humiliated and actually going to Pakistan to play the Asia cup and giving up the money that they get from ICC, I think India is always going to choose to give up the money.

But actually, the honest thing is I do not think the situation is ever going to go down that way. I believe all the things are going to be fixed and India is going to go to Pakistan to play the Asia cup and Pakistan will also play in the world cup. But even if India does not go to Pakistan to play the Asia cup and the Asia cup is eventually moved to another venue, I do not think Pakistan is ever going to miss the world cup.

And honestly, I think India is too big of a club. And giving up only 40 million, or at least around 40 million is not going to be that much of a big deal for them if things genuinely come down to that situation.
1430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 27, 2023, 07:04:35 AM
Sithara007, Certainly, India does not care about the money that they get from the ICC. And that instantly puts them in a position of power. That's because they are self-sufficient. But Pakistan is not like that. Pakistan has to care about the money that they get from the ICC. So, India is in an advantageous position right now. Because if they do not take part in the Asia cup, it is not going to matter too much for them. But if that happens and Pakistan also decides to not take part in the world cup, it is going to be very devastating for Pakistan.
It is not like India doesn't care about the funds from the ICC. At the moment, they get around $40 million per year from the ICC, which is a huge amount (although it comprises only 4% to 5% of the annual revenues for the BCCI). But the point is that BCCI can function without any issue even if the ICC funds are withheld and the same can't be said about Pakistan. PCB is till dependent on the grants from ICC for most of their annual budget. And the dependence is going to increase further from 2024 onwards, when the next ICC funding cycle starts.

I don't think that only PCB rely on funds from ICC. Except a few like India, Australia & England every other board depends on those funds. The biggest revenue generator for ICC is BCCI and it has now become so big that if India wants to move out of ICC many other countries would follow them and ICC would never want that to happen.

Most of the boards rely heavily on the money that they get from the ICC. Only India, England, and Australia are the exceptions in my opinion. Especially India because they have good earnings even without the money from the ICC. So even if they do not get the money that they get from ICC tomorrow, they will still be able to function easily like they are doing right now.
1431  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 27, 2023, 07:00:27 AM
If you take the stats into account in ODI, Tim Southee never had a great performance against India in my memory and even if you check his economy against India is well over 6.15 but on the other hand Trent Boult does bowl well against India and even in a hypothetical situation with the form the Indian batsmen were in, i doubt they could have made any difference.
That may be true. But given how poorly the New Zealand pacers performed (especially Tickner, Duffy and Shipley), I think Boult or Southee would have performed far better. Lockie Ferguson was the only bowler who held his nerves against India. Anyway, the pitches were very unsupportive for the pace bowlers and therefore even the experienced bowlers would have struggled. On top of that, New Zealand is not a team with depth in their player strength, unlike the case with India, Australia or England. If 2-3 if their main players are unavailable, that will impact their performance.

New Zealand is currently certainly not as strong as the other three big teams. They are suddenly lacking behind. And I have to mention one thing which is the games being played in India are obviously going to be beneficial for India.

I am not going to say that New Zealand is not capable of winning against India. Currently, I am going to say that New Zealand lost because they simply did not play well enough and wasn't able to hold their nerve. And New Zealand knows very well that the track is favoring the batting side. So, if they can somehow keep wickets in hand, the runs will come. But they could not do that as well.
1432  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 26, 2023, 12:31:14 PM
^^^ Yes.. that's what I think as well. Although the PCB is unhappy about it, in the end they don't have any other choice. They are heavily dependent on the revenues from ICC. On the other hand, the BCCI doesn't care much about the ICC funds, as they are earning handsomely from the IPL (and now the WIPL as well). But things will get ugly at some point before the tournament. The Asia Cup is scheduled to be played in September 2023. The ODI world cup is supposed to start one month after this. So any impact from the Asian Cup will likely spill over to the ODI World Cup as well.
This is almost confirm now that there will be a neutral venue for Asia Cup and after 4th February meeting between India and Pakistan chairman's about ACC things will be more clear.
Pakistan can't afford to take any bold steps like not participating in world cup as they can't go against ICC but opposite is the case with India.
India will put immense pressure on ICC over this issue and make things according to their will.

Sithara007, Certainly, India does not care about the money that they get from the ICC. And that instantly puts them in a position of power. That's because they are self-sufficient. In fact, no, this match was a battle but it didn't bring advantages for my beloved team (Juventus) not to mention that they brought home 1 point with a lot of effort (and tiredness)
It's not a win, it's definitely a total loss.
You are right, this is a total loss for juventus. The draw that was obtained by Juventus made them have to fall to 9th position. they recently got a sanctions because of finance violations. They should still be able to get 3 points in this match to keep the chance of getting to race for the top 4 positions. But, this draw will make juventus more difficult. Unless their consistency is still good even though the players are definitely disappointed with the 15 point deduction obtained by Juventus.

This match was obviously full of goals. A lot of fireworks from both teams in this match. But in the end, it is obviously not the desired result for Juventus. They just lost a lot of points which honestly I think is quite unfair. I wanted Juventus to win this match. But in the end, it came down to the weak defending of Juventus. They could not get all three points from this match. But I will say that after such a setback, they actually did well enough in this match. And we also have to remember that the match did not start very well for them.
1434  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 23, 2023, 05:20:28 PM
The prize tag on every players signed by Chelsea is so ridiculous. How on earth will Chelsea pay the sum of 106m just for Enzo Fernandez? I believe clubs are doing this probe to Chelsea's current situation. Enzo is leaving a lower league to play the most competitive/difficult league in football, and I doubt if he will play up to the expectations. Chelsea should have a careful thought on these transfer terms, £106m is so much for a young guy who just began making a name in football.

I mean it is not unknown to people. Chelsea does make some incredibly dumb transfers. Actually no. I'm not going to say that when they brought in Lukaku for almost 100 million that did make sense. The deal just did not work out for them, unfortunately.

But this one really seems to be dumb. There is no reason for them to spend so much money on this player at all. And I also do not understand how Chelsea is spending so much money. Like 106 million euros for Enzo Fernandez? Really?
1435  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: January 23, 2023, 03:18:16 PM
What the heck is wrong with Michael Clarke? This dude established himself as one of the best batsmen in cricket, but completely lost it and is the new Warne these days.

https://circleofcricket.com/category/Latest_news/82278/watch-michael-clarke-slapped-by-his-girlfriend-over-cheating-allegations-video-goes-viral

He ended up cheating on his girlfriend and had a public spat with her and some relatives. Some videos actually posted subtitles. I don't think he will be returning as a professional commentator anytime soon.

He should simply retire from anything related to cricket since his reputation has already gone down the drain.

I think we should not disregard the fact that he was one of the best players ever to play cricket. Just because he has some issues in his personal life. If he has some personal issues he will sort them out I believe. But just to bash him because of his personal life does not seem right to me. In these types of celebrity cases, we will never know who is right and who is wrong. Unless the case goes to the court and the guy is basically like "Johnny Depp".

Anyway, actually, I also believe that it will be good for him if he stays away from cricket for a little while. At least till this problem sorts out.
1436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First thing i will do if Bitcoin become legal tender globally on: January 23, 2023, 05:48:41 AM

WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU WILL DO IF BITCOIN BECOMES GLOBALLY ACCEPTED JUST LIKE THE INTERNET?
For me I will open my Bitcoin mining farm that will be public with a website and registered under the law for clients that will want third-party services that will align with global best practices of cryptography and digital asset management.

For now, bitcoin is still an investment asset for me, so if that happens, nothing will change, bitcoin is still my preferred choice in my portfolio. Additionally, once bitcoin becomes legal tender, meaning we can use bitcoin for payments anywhere in the world, I just like everyone else use it as a payment method. I never intended to open a Bitcoin mining farm like you, but I will definitely step up to invest in bitcoin because then it really becomes as safe as gold.

Suggest ways to deal with unexpected expenses?

Life is always full of surprises and called surprises we will never anticipate. Other than setting up a savings account, there's no better way for me to cope with it. And that's also why many people say that they don't have a savings account in the bank, but they only have money to invest in bitcoin, which is an entirely wrong plan because unexpected things always happen in our life. Continue budgeting your monthly expenses as usual and add emergency savings, that's what we can do.
1438  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 22, 2023, 07:03:14 PM
Jurgen Klopp is actually a good coach. And he has also proved himself in the past with Liverpool. But the problem is this season nothing is working.
I don't see any reason why anyone would argue Jurgen Klopp not to be a good team. I think Liverpool should be excused for there performances this season but, they've been the team that has kept Manchester City on there toes for the past 3 seasons. It was high time we see another team pick up the task and that's what Arsenal is doing in a reverse method. Other than Arsenal playing catch up, they've got Manchester City playing the catch up and Arsenal are always taking there chances at increasing point gaps when given.

As much as most of us won't want to give in, the S. Mane transfer from the Liverpool team contributes largely to Liverpool's bad shape this season and Nunez isn't doing much as his replacement.

First of all, it was not the best decision to let Sadio Mane go. Secondly, no one thought that Darwin Nunez is not going to play well for Liverpool. Everyone thought he was going to be their next big goal scorer. But that did not happen. Right now anything Liverpool is trying to do is working against them. And it is obvious that this season Liverpool is in no way going to give Manchester City a fight.

Definitely, Arsenal is doing a good job. They are on the top of the table. And they are also looking very good to win the title. I believe that's because, unlike Liverpool, Arsenal made some really intelligent decisions regarding the transfer of players.
1439  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 22, 2023, 03:18:26 PM
It was not even a nice game. That game has been showing us how those clubs were wasting their money for nothing. Liverpool can't even win the match even though that was played at the anfield while Chelsea was not fully using its new players.
Chelsea is a bit better in the first half but the performance from Chelsea has been decreasing a lot when the game entered into the second half. Liverpool was starting to attack chelsea during the second half which is really disappointing.
The players owned by Liverpool like nunez and gakpo were useless at that match. How can the public hyped the gakpo's transfer to Liverpool? Gakpo's skill was average football players. That's an over rated guy
both teams have had problems this season. and they haven't been able to fix it even after spending quite a lot on the transfer market. if their coach doesn't maximize the new players they have to contribute to the squad to the fullest. it would be a very wasteful and wasteful purchase for the team. maybe what needs to be done is to change the coach.
It is feared that a change of coach without going through consideration will end up like the fate of Chelsea, where after officially replace Thomas Tuchel Chelsea show no progress under the hands of new coach Graham Potter.
While for Liverpool, the club needs to support Jurgen Klopp to overhaul Liverpool's main squad with the players Klopp wants. I'm sure if the club gives him financial support, Jurgen Klopp can get Liverpool back to how it was before.

Jurgen Klopp is actually a good coach. And he has also proved himself in the past with Liverpool. But the problem is this season nothing is working. And I do not know if they will work properly even if the coach is backed up with money. And that is the same case with Chelsea. They are not doing well, especially after the change of authority. So I believe Liverpool is also very fearful that if they change the courts, they might also end up in the same situation like Chelsea. Nothing is starting for Liverpool right now.

Eric did brought Manchester united into bright light,he was able to discipline the players and built a team that is very strong and superb. It is Eric vs Xavi on the match day as both coach will want to show their quality that they have all it takes to win the match. Barca are performing excellently which will not make it easy for Manchester united to win the match. If Lewandoski is macked out it will be a problem for the club since De pay is gone.
Since Depay has already left, I'm sure they're looking for a plan B. The worst-case scenario for Barcelona is that Lewandowski is injured before their match against Manchester United. I'm not saying they won't have a chance, but they'll face a lot of pressure from Manchester United, as well as a goal drought because they don't have a striker who can simply finish the game for them when necessary. This is supposed to be a tough match, but given the present state of things, we may have to just see Manchester United prevailing against Barcelona.

Barcelona versus Manchester United match is going to be quite difficult for Barcelona. And I do not know what Barcelona is going to do if somehow for some reason Robert Lewandowski, who generally does not get injured for long periods of time, does end up getting injured.

Barcelona will not have a proper striker if that happens. As long as Barcelona have Robert Lewandowski on the team, I do not think they will have to worry. But it will be better if Barcelona does keep a replacement for Robert Lewandowski. Obviously, they are not going to find someone like him. But they will have to get someone who will be a good substitute.
