I agree that many of the alt-coins do not and will not provide any lasting added value to digital currencies. So many of them just seem to be projects that have been made for fun. Since most of these currencies seem to derive their value from bitcoin they can provide a legitimate value in someway since you are trading them and their value against the as the standard. Regardless of what currency it is this inherently adds value to the standard coin. This can be viewed in a way that is similar to International currencies all being measured against US dollar. Bitcoin is the US dollar and the other currencies are like the UK pound this Spanish dollar, or the Papua New Guinea Kina. The more alt currencies there are, the more legitimate bit coin becomes. There is also value in a simple meme as has been proved with Dogecoin. the OP is in my opinion correct in saying that you should be cautious when dealing with some of these alternatives but that does not mean that they do not have inherent value.
You're wrong on this. Right now the cryptos are like visa , mastercard, discovery etc etc. And , do you use visa to pay for gas , mastercard for groceries and discovery for condoms? Count out the promo offers they might have at a few stores. Also , take a look at what happened in Europe. One single currency that simplified a lot when your travel and make purchases. I had a bag of coins and small paper change from my visits prior to that which i could only spend if I went back to France of Spain. Now I don't have to think about this anymore. |

You have no idea what render is, don't You? Turning pig waste into hamburgers? But , you basically used some (with copyright or not) image to create your logo. This might get the dev into a few troubles is he indeed uses it. It happened before so you can't be certain it won't since the smell of money is strong around here. |

I think Dogecoin will be pretty much dead in a few months.
While I wish it to lose some importance , I don't really want it to die as it will have a negative effect. But also , don't underestimate the power and madness of 4chan. I didn't know 4chan is behind this.But why Dogecoin?The Doge meme is most popular on 9gag and on Hugelol. 9gag is different from 4chan. And the only way to understand it is by joining it , but that is one path to darkens  ). 4chan tends to be more like a community than 9gag which was a post wall and hasn't evolved too much from. Also , don't take this as literary but as it's not juts one board pushing it but usually crazy ideas and joker that spread like plague and tend to annoy people to death start from there. |

I've just about had enough of cryptsy. The lags and delays and constant issues are a joke. I'm just tired of being p****d off.
I like cryptsy, I like the interface and I think it could do well as a trading tool rather than an exchange.
I used CoinedUp yesterday for a few trades. Deposits came in on time, confirmed on time. Trades went through in a timely fashion, then I withdrew my bounty back to my wallet. It took ~1 hour. On Cryptsy I would have to budget about 1-2 days to complete that set of work (anything under 24 hours is a bonus on cryptsy).
I love you cryptsy, but I'm gone. Give me a call when you've got your act together.
Wait till coinedup has the same users and volumes as cryptsy. I bet the same problems will show up. |

There's a market out there for someone to build a coinmarketcap clone that only lists decentralized/mined cryptos. They'll get an automatic audience. I'd do it, but I don't have those skills.  And then people will argue that it should only list some coins because the others are clones. And then only scrypt ones , and then only coins with an animal logo. The ranting will never stop. |

There is no definition nor for digital nor for cryptos that they have to be mined and not issued.
People try to force the principles of Bitcoin on all other coins , which is not right. Yes if you see it like that it is "just" a list. I see it not like that the site is very popular and has potential to influence people minds about the popularity of a currency. I see the potential to influence new people to believe the coins work like bitcoin. In fact they are the opposite. My position is this must be clear, otherwise it is not right. There is no enfocing of principles. It is the other way around. XRP,NXT,MST are abusing the Bitcoin trend, if they dont make clear to everyone, they work completely different.By listing them together it seems for non nerds and newbies like they play in the same class. The fact they are "minted" is a serious difference. When it is just a list, then what speaks against it to also list Lindendollars and Amazoncoins? So , the people behind ripple should post on coinmarketcap how ripple works? LMAO. If you want to know how ripple works you got to their website and learn from there. Also , it has been debated in this forums so many times what ripple is and how it is different from Bitcoin I really don't get it how you (based on your reg date) still can say that. I think there are too many dogecoins, because mining difficulty is weak. Probably Doge will be still going down till time, when it will be mroe difficult to digg coins.
