1461  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v11.9 (Windows/Linux) on: August 29, 2018, 07:13:37 AM
Are there people still trying to mine Ethereum with GPUs? ETH is only profitable for ASICs now. We GPU miners would be mining for brake even on a top3 coin which, in a bullrun, can go 4 or 5 times its current price. With 1070s you're basically mining at best for 0,60$ a day hopping to make that 2,40$ if ETH goes over 1000$ ! That is before electricity. Even Claymore hasn't updated his miner for ages.

If you're in need of a good algo which works nice on GPUs and a steady more-than-a-coin project behind it, look into HEX algo (XDNA coin). Already trading at Cryptopia and Crypto-Bridge but it's yet in position 875 based on market cap!
1462  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 28, 2018, 08:45:45 AM
Where are all the XRP haters hiding nowadays? I haven't heard of them lately? Come on, won't you write how XRP is centralised and other nonsense like that? I have a few nice articles to share and I've been waiting to see a post of hate you know....

Like how Bitmain, which centralises the BTC's hashrate, is working behind the scene (a nice read here, the most interesting part is after the crystal tower image: https://medium.com/@salva.enkidu_89587/how-bitmain-indeed-mines-coins-in-secret-2ea179e7ab75)
Or why XRP is more decentralised than other coins: https://ripple.com/insights/the-inherently-decentralized-nature-of-xrp-ledger

Like I've said again, it's one thing for a company to control a big amount of a coin (like Ripple) and another thing for a company to control the network's hashrate (like Bitmain).
If you control a big amount of your own coin, then you'd do anything in your power to see it's price increase, both the company's and the investors' interest align.
But if you control the hashrate, then things are more complicated and unpredictable, which I don't like.
1463  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ARK - Blockchains Interoperability with SmartBridge 🔹 ARK on Binance 🔹 on: August 27, 2018, 10:29:04 PM
Those artistic announcements are on a league of their own! Grin
Do you have a full time job for those graphics? If not, you will soon have to put this guy under 100% artistic jobs... it seems you'll keep having a lot of new collaborations and a lot of announcements to artistify! Wink
1464  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 1080Ti Specific - Best mining option on: August 27, 2018, 04:55:54 PM
Are new algo's still profitable to mine?

Read the post just above you maybe? Roll Eyes

hi peoples, what are you mining this days ?
Destiny 2 with a hashrate of 144 fps. It's bottle-necked by my monitor but hopefully I'll get my hands on an ultra-wide 200Hz one soon.

Oh and the new algo called HEX. It was created by the developers of XDNA. The XDNA coin is still new but it's already traded in two big exchanges, Cryptopia and Crypto-Bridge. It's also offering 2% of the block's rewards for charity and since they had no ICO and about only 0.7% premine (more info) I'm sure it'll fly sooner or later, if you don't mind mining & holding this coin is a good bet.

Except if by profitable you mean "mine today + sell tomorrow = profit > power consumption"
You'd need to risk a bit by holding... no bet to gain! Wink
1465  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: August 27, 2018, 04:54:37 PM
My personal, "in-depth" review of XRP... well... don't except deep-ocean-bottom kind of "depth" though! Grin

1466  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][AUG 21] REVAIN - Reinventing Reviews on Blockchain on: August 27, 2018, 04:48:09 PM
Any chance to allow the creation of new entries? I'd like to write a review for XDNA project but I didn't find it in the list... it's new so it makes sense but shouldn't the community be able to add new coins? Ofcourse some safety nets should exist to avoid spamming and trolling by people.

They explain the situation, be grateful they're transparent with the community. It's not like you're a developer, right? Because I am (a web developer though) and how easy it is for unexpected situations to arise and send your deadline flying!

However, dear SONO team, read your posts more thoroughly before posting, you have some typos which make you look less professional. I quote,
"Our two great developers has have put a lot of time"
"Had our team been bigger then it would had have been possible"

Seems like you're in bad terms with the word "have"! Cheesy

Not so lucky with merits though. But, please review my posts history. Thanks much.

You're indeed unlucky with your merits! I'm unlucky too but not as much as you! Your English might need a bit of improvement, but overall your quality is high enough to deserve some more merits. I don't have many sMerits but I found the post I liked most in your history and I gave you one! Keep it up! Wink

PS: Edit your application, you now have 512 merits! Tongue
1469  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How did you feel when you found out it was a SCAM? on: August 27, 2018, 01:43:06 PM
I usually don't get myself into ICOs, but the only 2 times I invested in an ICO they were both scams... yet somehow I didn't lose a penny! lol

The first one I invested in was before the last bullrun in crypto, I invested 100€ in the form of 500 XRP, the project never even started and the 500 XRP were worth 1000€ a month later!! Good thing the escrow behind the  ICO run a refund and I got my XRP back. If they did a refund they were not really trying to scam anyone though.

In the second one I invested the bare minimum of 40€, that one was a true scam! It was a payment platform using a debit card and after they opened their online beta platform and I checked their HTML code.... it was disgusting... I instantly sold every coin. Good thing I made 400€ through their signature bounty campaign! Grin Today it's worth 1/10th of what I sold.
1470  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [CROWDSALE FINISHED] Blockport: The first social crypto exchange on: August 27, 2018, 01:16:01 PM
Two questions for the team,

1) What happened with the ARK collaboration? Did you scrap the idea of creating your own exchange system using the ARK ecosystem and you'll instead work through Bitfinex and other exchanges?

2) Are you planning to use any coin other than BTC and fiat as base? Personally I'm interested in the XRP as a base currency.

1472  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: August 27, 2018, 12:39:19 PM
Going through the FPGAs board manufacturers came across the HMC(Hybrid Memory Cube) http://static6.arrow.com/aropdfconversion/a034c723e572f45efe84162a58a14f71cedf33fa/hmc_webinar_july_2017.pdf.pdf promising technology basically coupled with UlTraScale FPGA or Intels Aria 10 FPGA you have the bandwidth and capacity to crunch any memory hard algo more efficiently than GPUs and even todays ASICs. Its supper expensive compared to ddr3-4 but in long term investment will return its money

This PDF you linked is a bit... "too much technical talk"... but from what I get they're describing this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/3D_XPoint which is around some time now (the PDF you shared is from a year ago).
I know Intel is using this technology but it's veeeery expensive and I can't see it being used for mining anytime soon. I didn't know Micron has something similar too though, thanks for that! Wink

In any case, this is not an FPGA-specific feature. It's a technology; and since Micron is in collaboration with Nvidia, if this technology becomes mainstream then expect to see this kind of memory implemented it in RTX 2180ti or something.

Well, with your permission, I duplicated the video on my channel.
I would like to see the movie that something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PA1nm4FiBcg&t=1s

Better WAIT for their permission though? They might want to do some changes to it before it goes live.... though after posting it in a public forum like BTCT makes it pretty much "live" Cheesy
Just make sure you put the phrase "sneak peak" in your title, just like it is in the official post.

1476  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] ⚡BQT Signature Campaign | Member - Hero | 0.0007 BTC /Post ⚡ on: August 26, 2018, 04:46:53 PM
I don't think that bitcoin has dead. It's the rule of every cryptocurrency it will go up and down. But it doesn't mean that the crypto has died.
Just FYI, you don't have any merit because all of your posts are shitposts like the one above.  Any campaign that accepts you into it will make the world a poorer and dumber place.

This is a good example of how a merit requirement helps a campaign manager weed out garbage posters.  People really shouldn't be applying when they don't have enough merits unless there's a compelling reason why they haven't earned those merits.  In your case, there isn't.

But aren't the people who shitpost usually the ones who will apply for a signature campaign without reading or understanding the requirements?  Cheesy
At least the guy who you've quoted readed the requirements and understood he's not covering them. I believe he has potential to change 😜

Hello dear Zapo,

I'd like to apply in this campaign you manage too. After reading this one's and the IOU's project descriptions, I'd say I'd prefer to support the IOU's one; however if there's no spot in the other one please consider my following application for BQT.
