The question remains why MtGox took so long to pull this rabbit out of their hat? A convenient excuse. They could have voiced their concerns earlier.

Can somebody please check tickets:

MWM-945-82748

and

FGE-869-58642

I have submitted the docs a week ago and seemingly nobody checked. Just now I got the message that the ticekts were closed, even though I did reply to both notification emails.

Thanks.

We'll look into it. Was this on a tablet?

On an eeePC.

So, what's the scenario now? Mtgox will have bitcoin priced at $1 as everyone is trying to sell their btc there and get the cash out somehow?
So we will have btc priced at $100 on Gox or something and $800 on bit stamp or more.
What are the rules they need to follow when it comes to holding funds from investors?

Rules? ahem...

We have that scenario already:

from bitcoinaverage.com :

Code:
Data for USD weighted average
exchange volume % volume ฿ last price
bitstamp 42.57% 74386.19 705.0 USD
btce 30.33% 53011.59 694.9 USD
bitfinex 26.46% 46247.24 705.0 USD
localbitcoins 00.24% 416.89 894.5 USD
campbx* 00.22% 381.97 717.0 USD
itbit 00.07% 130.91 820.0 USD
vaultofsatoshi 00.05% 82.07 720.0 USD
kraken 00.02% 34.5 716.9 USD
cryptotrade 00.02% 42.63 689.3 USD
justcoin 00.00% 6.23 714.8 USD
bitkonan 00.00% 3.81 710.0 USD
rocktrading 00.00% 5.16 705.0 USD
anx_hk* 00.00% 4.76 708.0 USD

The CNY and EUR markets agree with the above.

MtGox however:

By banned you mean, even if a miner decided to include it in a block it wouldn't go through?

So it's just a prank?
1468  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Consider to remove Mtgox price ticker on: February 11, 2014, 06:42:41 AM
Looks like coindesk removed Gox from its value calculations

http://www.coindesk.com/coindesk-removes-mt-gox-bitcoin-price-index-2/

So did bitcoinaverage.com :
Code:
ignored exchange	reason
btctrade                volume data suspect
coinbase                volume data not published
mtgox                withdrawals blocked
okcoin                volume data suspect
vircurex                unreachable since 10 Feb, 17:54 UTC
1469  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Thousands of 1 Satoshi txs to thousands of addresses on: February 11, 2014, 01:35:47 AM
What's up with this?

https://blockchain.info/tx/8ba4de3fafbfaf1e66e1d00b1409006d65f92061538c4472c4545a1b436085a1

Thousands of single Satoshi transfers to all seperate addresses. Is this an attack vector?

bitcoinaverage.com , also has an API.

I like the new grouping too, I'd prefer for it to drop open to the right left though as I get this on a small screen (Fedora, Google Chrome):

From 23% to 5% in a week. Are BTC withdrawals working?

Won't be revealing much info for now.

Bummer. Watching anyway.

How about integrating a "Tip" button?

Also, keep the various fees in mind when trading overseas.

1479  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BTC-E Thieves? on: January 27, 2014, 01:52:47 AM
I only put labour in and I only take goods and services out, so this isn't a problem for me, but I wonder WHY do people still use this exchange?

Because the price is generally cheap and you get a bunch of alt coins to trade with too.
