14781  Other / Off-topic / Re: My next door neighbour continually smokes weed every 2-3 hours in his garden... on: December 13, 2013, 09:15:21 PM
I'll be honest, I was going to avoid this thread but after seeing a number of cases in the UK of those parents who just totally wrecked their kids lives or killed them I'd at least just call the police to come and check it out doesn't have to be a complaint or anything but if there's a kid crying constantly and stuff then something doesn't seem right. You don't want to be one of those neighbours who just assumed their neighbours were normal only to find there's a dead child in the house weeks later after the drug addict had finally had enough :S.

Granted, I'm assuming the worse here but the guy sounds like he needs help never mind the smoking weed at 3:00am, I've been depressed lately because of the stupid news reports again >_>.

Sometimes , Farmville is more dangerous than weed:

Grin me neither but for other reasons perhaps :p

Going to watch the blockchain for tips, I suppose? Cheesy

Isn't it funny?
When a guy asks for some mBTC is called begging , when a woman does the same is called tipping:)

Isn't it funny? When a girl promotes, she is a whore. When a guy promotes, he is an entrepreneur.

 Kiss

When a girl wears a miniskirt and a tiny top , she's sexy , when a man does the same , he's a a pervert:)
14783  Other / Off-topic / Re: Shit things that has happened to you today on: December 13, 2013, 09:10:36 PM
I just microwaved some veg soup, took it out, started to stir it, then a bit of potato or something violently exploded and sent soup flying everywhere - my face, hair, all over the floor and worktop. Never happened to me before, but sometimes it does in the actual microwave.

A bit of potato exploded?
How the hell can a bit of potato explode from heat?
I would understand a whole potato but a bit of potato should be able to store enough heat to actually explode.
Either way , get a new microwave

Potatoes and veg can explode because the water in them turns to steam and needs to escape; hence explosion.

Nothing wrong with the microwave.

That's why I said I'm amazed you said a piece of potato.
For the steam to accumulate it needs to be if not the entire vegetable at least a big piece .
I've tried blowing up bell peppers in the microwave or in the oven , and that wasn't the best idea around.

Reminds me of this:
http://newsfeed.time.com/2011/12/18/czech-republic-sees-rise-of-jedi-knights-as-religious-movement/

Strangely in the article i see that :
More than 390,000 Britons claimed to practice Jediism on the 2001 census, as did 70,000 in Australia.

Are those numbers accurate at all?

14785  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: General question: How do you know when to sell? on: December 13, 2013, 08:59:30 PM
The price of Bitcoin always seems to dip over the weekend. I made 500 mBTC over the weekend by selling some of mine Friday morning and buying back in Sunday.

Does it work every week? Seems too easy to be true

It's a gamble. But you have to make more on the weeks it does so , than you would end losing the weekend it does not Smiley.

I've been following this on and off all week - how did your discussion with the pot-smoker neighbour go?

Haven't done it yet - waiting for the right moment haha.

Time is by your side.
If you live in the north hemisphere winter is coming , so it's probable he won't be smoking in a garden so much in colder days.

Did you ever ask him for a smoke?

Why would I want to even communicate with that degenerate and why would I want any of his shitty weed? It's already freezing here and he's out in the garden at 3AM, so I don't think the cold bothers him.

As per above suggestions , I would go for the cops.
I re-read your posts in this thread I don't find any reasons why you shouldn't.

Of course "he" could also start a fire by "accident"  from that much smoking during the night , but we're entering  a dangerous discussion here Smiley
14787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wikipedia Donation Campaign and still no Bitcoin on: December 13, 2013, 08:51:47 PM
I must admit I do feel sort of outraged that they refuse to take donations of Bitcoins.
I think when they decide to take them we should start a campaign to not send them coins haha.

Hmm , you feel outrages cause they don't want to accept your Bitcoins?
It's their choice. People should start respecting others people choice not bashing them as non-believers.

They are making a mistake! So what? They don't want money! They are stupid!
But waiting for the people in charge of wiki  in a dark alley and stuffing a brainwallet down their throats isn't the best choice in my opinion.
14788  Other / Off-topic / Re: Lose vs Loose on: December 13, 2013, 08:43:08 PM

Fixed sp. (sorry, all this talk of grammar made me do it)

Those letters are next to each other, so no wonder I could make an error. Now fixed...

This is an example of how there are two ways of making spelling mistakes, mistakes that come from just not knowing the correct spelling, and mistakes that come from hitting the wrong key. I often hit keys in the wrong order. So I will hvae sentecnes wiht wrods liek htis.

I make mistakes as well but sometimes when I try to correct it with this damn Firefox plugin I click the wrong one , and then I end up with a correct world oath takes on sees Smiley word that makes no sense.
Also , English is the 4th language I've learned Smiley
14789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If confirmation takes 10 minutes, how will I buy coffee at Starbucks? on: December 13, 2013, 08:37:09 PM
The problem isn't 0 confirmation transactions it's if Bitcoin becomes mainstream for people using it as a source of payment, it will break as it can't handle the transaction load, and will become a clusterfuck of a problem.

Hasn't this been discussed over and over , and it's clear that the network can hold a great amount of transactions if we tweak it a little bit?

Lesson to be learned:
1) Do not post in a thread if it's self moderated
2) Do not engage in discussions with a person with a brown button
3) Winning a battle of arguments with somebody who is just trolling it's impossible

14793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How long until BTC gambling sides are shut down? on: December 13, 2013, 08:21:46 PM
I don't think it matters the sites let you gamble in BTC. They will probably start getting their domains seized and stuff soon.

If the domains are seized they'll just either move to one outside US control/influence or to TOR. It is too bad too, the US is frittering away its lead in many areas. Although after the NSA scandal, perhaps that is a positive for the world if not the US

yeah, the U.S. doesn't completely control every country in the world, though it sometimes seems like that. they'd either move their sites to the darkweb or go to some safehaven country.

Usually , those countries that don't take advices from the US , are worst that the us.
As an example , everybody was saying that the piratebay should move to the .ru domains.
This is funny , because the russians were the first ones to actually try to kill a torrent website , by seizing the rutracker domain.

So , I would not think that Iran would be a safe heaven for gambling websites.
14794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does Max Keiser Piss Anyone Else Off? on: December 13, 2013, 08:17:26 PM
Max Keiser = Krusty the clown

Krusty the clown is sometimes funny.
This guy , is sometimes trying to be funny , but it makes me cry.
14795  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has there been a time when you nearly lost your faith in Bitcoin? on: December 13, 2013, 08:16:13 PM
Not in Bitcoin.

But in it's users? Yes, sometimes.

And that feeling is normal.
We make some wonderful systems , we manage to create Utopia on paper , but when is comes to actually building it we fuck it up real good.

If ever Bitcoin will fail  , the stupidity of humans will be the major factor. And we're the top race on the stupidity chain on this planet.

Is this a joke or a scam or both ?

It depends of what you do:
a) you send money  , then it's a scam
b) you laugh , then it's a good joke
14800  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Libertarians and gun rights activits here is how the rest of the world sees you on: December 13, 2013, 07:25:31 PM
There are libertarians and Libertarians. The one with the capital L are the ones I am concerned about. They represent the majority of this forum and are the people who preach "free market capitalism" which is just radical Neo-Liberalism.
I think the initial discrepancy still stands: Libertarian concept of ownership is not justified. (not according to justice). Economic Inequality can only be maintained using unjustified authority (again justice, not justification!), of course within limits. Libertarians (capital L!) do not strive after a classless society, but Anarchists do.

But quite frankly I don't see any use for either term, with l or L.

The majority on this forum who preach that free market and consider themselves libertarians , with either l , or L , are supporting this idea because they hate the actual system , not because they are supporters of libertarianism. I see it like a trend , let's love this because we hate that.
And a few so called libertarian projects that have popped on this forum make me believe some of them don't have all their brain cells connected.
