1501  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PHS][PoS] PhilosopherStone | PoS | No Premine | stuff | 1.5.2 on: May 09, 2014, 03:20:18 AM
I'd caution you not to read too much into PHS' performance over the last month or so

True, i was refering more on the months before. The situation on cryptsy seems like a freeze in both directions, selling and buying. There was already a timespace where minters could selling and also in this forum nobody offers to sell too, it is bad with cryptsy, but it could be worst.

Sure, they could cryptorush, coinex, or gox everyone. In cryptsy's case I think they're just so busy expanding into new business areas they can't be bothered to maintain the areas they're already in.
1502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WSJ - China Bank Warning!!! on: May 09, 2014, 03:14:54 AM
Banksters aren't stupid. They know that letting their fiat garbage compete fairly with open source cryptos or commodity based currency would be a disaster for them.
1503  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PHS][PoS] PhilosopherStone | PoS | No Premine | stuff | 1.5.2 on: May 09, 2014, 02:44:59 AM
Also the price of PHS over month shows the interest of stake is neither the same inflation as we know it or interest of a classic bank, more a kind of hybrid, still hard to imagine and no consensus in all the PoS coins.

I'd caution you not to read too much into PHS' performance over the last month or so, as there have been problems plaguing it. Cryptsy's seemingly limitless incompetence, the timebomb attack, and pools being forked have held PHS down recently.
1504  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] TEKcoin PoS/PoW on Cryptsy! 30 days 40% interest! on: May 09, 2014, 01:07:31 AM
Tekcoin's compound annual interest rate is over 6300%. Hardly seems like a tough decision at all.
Isn't there risk it runs out of control?

I will put my euros in TEKcoin, I think.

The coin seems very well put together on both the PoW & PoS sides. I hit it with 10 th/s regularly and it seems to be very well regulated, with rapidly rising difficulty. While there are always risks involved, I consider Tek to be a below average crypto risk with an enormous upside. The fairly lengthy coin maturity(30 days) and relative obscurity have kept Tek out of the spotlight(till now) which has allowed me to build a healthy stack at much lower levels.

1506  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain S2 vs Spondoolies SP10 on: May 09, 2014, 12:50:38 AM
Agreed. The s1 is still king.

The people that prize form over function(and positive ROI) can have their sp10's and s2's.
1507  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][PHS][PoS] PhilosopherStone | PoS | No Premine | stuff | 1.5.1 on: May 09, 2014, 12:31:29 AM
Seems that Cryptsy withdrawal already working, just receive PHS sent several minutes ago.

5 PHS withdrawal worked, but 950 PHS stucked :/

same. 4 PHS test withdrawal = nearly instant. 2400 PHS withdrawal follow up = into the void. That makes more than 3200 PHS I have just floating around on the interwebz. sigh.

I'm going to pull the plug on craptsy AND phs soon, sick of all the drama. The few PoW loving idiots that mine this thing are destroying the whole coin.
1508  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★█ Zeitcoin Movement █★ [ZEIT] pure POS (soon) ★MULTIPOOL★ on: May 09, 2014, 12:21:44 AM
Going strictly by the cryptsy and mintpal charts, is this a dead coin?
Not at all. Many just have extremely short attention spans.

Trade volume: under $500 per day
Number of coins: "too many" (20 billion, give or take) and growing "too fast" (25% for the first year)
Price follows the above, giving you the 1 satoshi rate we're seeing.

My thoughts? Yes, ZEIT is pretty much dead. There are so many other coins out there that have gathered more interest, and if no one is interested in a coin then it really serves little purpose.

Flawed arguments are flawed. The number of coins minted need not be guessed at or generalized. It's exactly 27428309200.095898 right at this second. PoW phase is over and with the huge number of coins on exchanges there are not a lot of coins being minted. The monetary inflation rate is quite low. Where can you buy for 1 satoshi? I'm on that. I too would like to see Zeitcoin adoption expand, but these things take time.

The push to change land use in the West is so that the 1% can buy it up for a tiny fraction of it's ever increasing value.  The 99% is way to in debt to think about purchasing it, particularly if it goes on the block in huge chunks.

Not only that, but if the 99% scraped up the funds to buy some of it, they'll be paying unaffordable taxes.  The 1% (e.g., the Koch brothers) have lobbying power so we 99% would be lucky if we don't end up paying the 1%'s costs in holding and exploiting the land.  Even if not, the 1% plans to exploit the shit out of it as quickly as possible and leave it as a toxic waste dump for others to deal with.  The proceeds of this exploitation will be sucked into the global shadow banking system to gamble on derivatives and the like.  We 99% will never see the funds again, though we very well might get stuck with the bill for gambling bets gone bad.

Hey, be careful now tvbcof - you are starting to sound a bit like a commi  Shocked  Grin

I've enjoyed (and benefited from) reading your posts in this thread. I'm in the UK and don't know much about domestic US land issues - but what you have posted has rung true to me.

Your time hasn't been wasted.
Thanks

LOL

YES! Down with the 1%! Government fix this NOW! Here are all my rights and privileges, please protect me from the bad evil rich guys! Roll Eyes
1511  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★█ Zeitcoin Movement █★ [ZEIT] pure POS (soon) ★MULTIPOOL★ on: May 08, 2014, 11:04:21 PM
yeah I go back and forth all day about zeit.....just don't see it coming to fruition unfortunately, although later today i'll be all about it again and wanting to buy more

This coin is still very young. The wallet was very mediocre. That's been addressed and now I'd rate the wallet as above average. The block explorer at least shows TxIds properly now. The forum is picking up steam and there are projects in the works.

Compare Zeit to doge fas. Doge has over 76.6 billion coins mined, will soon have 100 billion, and will continue to mine 5 billion coins/year. Yet even without paying interest each one costs 106 satoshis presently.

There are 27.4 billion Zeit. None are being mined, the stake rate is modest at this point, they pay a healthy interest rate, and they cost less than 3% of what a doge does.

Note, I've nothing against doge, save the inflation rate. These are just the cold hard numbers.
1512  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Doge coin is bad on: May 08, 2014, 10:39:38 PM
Dogecoin serves its purpose for what it is, but will never reach $1, 1c perhaps, but highly unlikley.
Good coin for beginners, good community for learning about mining etc, but seriously once you have mined them, exchange them for something that is a serious currency with a purpose, like NXT, Darkcoin, Megacoin etc. there is less than a year of mining with doge before the 100 billion are mined and then its another 5 billion each year after that!

Is that right?!?

I've never really cared about doge one way or the other, but it looks like there are roughly 77 BILLION floating around now and very many coins more on the way. Looks like kind of a joke. I'd definitely be dumping on any spikes with that many floating around and more on the way.
1513  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: May 08, 2014, 09:47:08 PM

Amy seems nice enough, but that's a load of grade A horseshit. If they were honestly trying and just sucked/failed at nearly everything then why the information blackout for weeks at a time? There's a right way and a wrong way to handle setbacks, these jerkwaters have chosen the wrong way every single time and now that there are multiple suits and the authorities are snooping around they're suddenly SO VERY SORRY. There was no way they were ever going to ship in 2013, it was all just a bunch of lies.

On Why We’re Not Scammers

Posted on 05/08/201405/08/2014 by Amy Abascal

I joined this company, a month ago, with full knowledge of the challenges HashFast was facing.  I joined because the technology blew my mind and the team was amazing.
I think it’s time to publicly address the notion that HashFast scammed our customers.  Let me tell you that nobody is lying on the beach sipping Mai Tais with your money. While that would make for a great Wolf of Wall Street type feature film, it’s simply not the reality.

“So, what the hell is going on over there?” is probably what you’re asking.  That’s a reasonable question.

We pre-sold mining systems.  Based on the immediate demand for our systems, we took those funds and invested in inventory to satisfy that demand, specifically on ASICs.  We built out our first board.  We told you that story.  That first board was a dud.  We just plain out haven’t recovered.

Our cash is tied up in inventory, but we have finally been able to begin regularly shipping again.  It’s true that we are struggling, but we are struggling to do the right thing.  As we turn our focus to chip sales, we will free up more cash to ship more systems and process more refunds.  Each lawsuit sets us back, though.

I also want to clear up the notion that we are self-mining.  The only mining we do internally is running engineering boards and the prototype box. Perhaps if we had been self-mining all along, we’d be in better financial shape.  We also do not hold BTC balances.

The reality remains that we have the fastest Bitcoin mining ASIC in the world.  Not only that, but we have two chips in development which are going to scream.

I joined this company, a month ago, with full knowledge of the challenges HashFast was facing.  I joined because the technology blew my mind and the team was amazing.  I have every reason to believe that we will pull through this and get back on track.  I know that to the outside, it looks like we’ve been unethical.  I think our former policy on keeping quiet, definitely fueled those flames.  While the situation has not been ideal, HashFast did not scam our customers.  If that were true, I would not be working here.

I will continue to post updates on shipping and internal company developments, both good and bad.

I will send 300Tek as soon as they stake(next couple days) to help fund a block explorer & rich list.

Thanks for all your contributions presstab.

yeah his total money supply if that is not shoped is about 1.474 billion coins.  makes my measly 32mil seem really insignificant, also means he holds close to 5% of all coins

Coins that aren't on exchanges and aren't being dumped, but are instead securing the network.
1516  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★█ Zeitcoin Movement █★ [ZEIT] pure POS (soon) ★MULTIPOOL★ on: May 08, 2014, 04:24:56 PM
yes he gained to much! more than 1.7 billion..

Current money supply is 27,424,216,735.

But if the Person has not opened his wallet for 20 days.. and he has a huge volume of coins... there is no problem.. the next 20 days he ll see no minting.. but I can cry if I compare my wallet with these pictures Sad

You could also buy more.

Event with this 20 days specualtion, the amount of coins in this single wallet must be so huge that it would be a problem itself.

How do you figure?

<--- miner Smiley

Nice, me too, but with only 1.5mh/s it's pretty slow going.

I just got back my unit from repair a week ago and it has started acting up again. Can't do jack but watch it whine and bitch like a baby due to the warranty seal etc. I can't understand how it has any issues performing in a nice air conditioned closed dust free environment.

It was built by retarded scammers?
