1501  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Receiving & Change Addresses on: March 09, 2023, 09:15:26 PM
I don't understand why there are these 2 types of addresses doesn't make sense for me
Due to privacy reasons, it's always recommended to not reuse addresses.

Assume that there is no change address in electrum and your receiving addresses are used for receiving the changes.
You have fund in address A and you make a transaction. Electrum uses address B as the change address while you have already given the address B to someone to receive a payment.
What will happen? Address B will be reused and that's not recommended.

You have the change addresses, so that you don't use them for receiving fund and you can protect your privacy.
1502  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Receiving & Change Addresses on: March 09, 2023, 08:49:06 PM
Your understanding is not correct.
Given your previous posts, I assume you are using electrum.
Electrum allow you to spend unconfirmed coins whether they are in change addresses or receiving addresses. Just make sure "Spend only confirmed coins" is unchecked.

1503  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How are transaction fees generated and disbursed? on: March 09, 2023, 07:51:17 PM
Each time a user sends a transaction he pays the fees from his own coins. Let's say you want to send 1 bitcoin to a friend, then you have to spend 1btc+0.0001btc of fees making this a total transaction of 1.0001BTC.
Where did the 0.0001 BTC come from?
The fee rate is set the by the user and the required fee rate depends on how fast you want your transaction to be confirmed and how congested the network is.
Also, the transaction fee doesn't depend on the amount of bitcoin you send at all.

Rolex? 1 in a billion? Yeah, why not?
It may worth mentioning that, the chance of winning the $15,000 Rolex is even lower.
Every time you spin the wheel of fortune, a random 8 digit hexadecimal number is calculated and is converted to a decimal number. That's divided by 4.294967295 and then rounded down to the nearest whole number.

The only 8 digit hexadecimal number that can give you 1 billion is FFFFFFFF. This means that the chance of winning the $15,000 Rolex is 1 in 4,294,967,295.
1505  Other / Meta / Re: Does the forum system skip out on updating some user activities? on: March 09, 2023, 03:18:10 PM
After the first 14 posts when you register an account on this forum, the activity will start counting 14 every 14 days.
Not necessarily true.
Yesterday was the last day of a two-week activity period. Assume that you made your first post yesterday. If you post 27 posts today, you can have 28 activity while you registered just yesterday.

Well I just noticed my activity just change now, so I guess its on every Thursday for me, that's two weeks from this Thursday my activity is going to change again.
The same activity periods are used for all users and the current one started yesterday.
1506  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would we solve this problem about payments on: March 09, 2023, 09:21:50 AM
actually the payment is successful or not can be seen from the txid provided,
Providing transaction ID wouldn't be enough if the same address is given to different people and especially if there are many customers.
I can simply search for the address on a block explorer, pick the hash of an incoming transaction and claim that I have made that transaction.

The simple solution is to give different addresses to different people.

I don't really understand what you're saying, the only thing I understand is that there are 5 customers who bought bitcoin in different amounts, right?
OP isn't talking about people buying people. He/she is talking about people buying things and using bitcoin as payment method.
1507  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How are transaction fees generated and disbursed? on: March 09, 2023, 08:11:04 AM
When you make a bitcoin transaction, you are the one who sets the transaction fee.
Since the block size is limited and miners can't include any number of transactions they want, they have to pick some transactions. To maximize their profit, they pick the transactions with higher fee rate.
Therefore, if you are in a hurry, you should use a high fee rate and if you are not in a hurry, you can set the fee rate as low as possible.
1508  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How would we solve this problem about payments on: March 09, 2023, 07:58:28 AM
Have you ever deposited bitcoin to an exchange? If so, have you ever asked yourself how they know the deposit has been made by me? Exchanges give a new address to each of users and that's how they can know who has made a deposit.
If you have a store and want to accept payments in bitcoin, you can do the same thing.
1509  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why this transaction cannot be pushed? on: March 09, 2023, 07:44:14 AM
Why does this transaction need to be added manually using mining pool? I know the nodes will reject it because it's non-standard but isn't it after a while it will drop from the mempool and he will be able to rebroadcast it just like it happens with transactions that have very low fees?
As you said yourself, the transaction OP is referring to isn't standard and nodes will reject it. This means that the transaction doesn't enter the mempool of any node at all.
If a mining pool want to include that transaction, they keep it on their candidate block until they find a block.

You sure about those numbers?
Yes. I am sure.

Can you point me in right direction where these rules are mentioned.
To see the pay table, click on "i" button at top right corner of the page before spinning the wheel of fortune.
Below is the pay table.

1511  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MYSTERIOUS BINANCE WALLET on: March 08, 2023, 04:16:28 PM
As you said yourself, that address is owned by Binance.
As we all know, Binance is a big exchange and they have many users. It's not surprising that the address in question has received such big amount of bitcoin.
What's the problem now? What do you find mysterious?
1512  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you 'Will' your bitcoin to your children? on: March 08, 2023, 03:59:07 PM
Like I've said, tell them to download Bitcoin wallet e.g Electrum wallet and send their shares to them one after the other, if you are rich, buy 5 hardware wallets and send the Bitcoins to each of the hardware wallets and hand it over to them.
With doing this, you lose access to the fund and the children will be able to spend it while you are still alive. It's possible that one day you need the fund yourself.
Your suggestion is good if you want to give bitcoin to your children as a gift.
1513  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can you 'Will' your bitcoin to your children? on: March 08, 2023, 03:42:43 PM
In the case you want your children to have access to your bitcoin after your death, without them being able to spend the fund before your death, you can use locktime feature.
For more information, visit the following topic and read the guide provided by LoyceV.

Using Locktime for inheritance planning, backups or gifts

I guess you are right because I just won some nice amount of RP again.
As I said in my previous post, nothing has changed.
You won reward points in those three spins, just because you rolled numbers lower than 332,308,319.
Every time you spin the wheel, some mathematical calculations are done and you get a random number.
You get 50 RP, if you hit a number between 0 and 329,308,319, you get 500 RP if you hit number between 329,308,320 and 331,308,319 and you get 5000 RP if you hit a number between 331,308,320 and 332,308,319.
1515  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can new miners still make good profit? on: March 07, 2023, 07:38:18 PM
Now it's not like the early days when people could mine bitcoin with a regular computer, but miners are still making profit with their mining hardware and joining mining pools.
Take note that bitcoin total hashrate has increased by around 85% in the past year.
1516  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin transactions in batches? on: March 07, 2023, 09:37:51 AM
I am not sure I am understanding you correctly. Is your question "Why a bitcoin transaction can include multiple inputs and outputs?"

What should I do if the total of those batches exceeds the amount I intend to send?
If I am understating you correctly:
You will send the change to yourself.
Assume that you have two UTXOs. One is worth 0.1 BTC and the other one is worth 0.2 BTC. You want to send 0.25 BTC to someone. Your transaction will include two outputs. One of them will be worth 0.25 BTC and will be sent to recipient. The other one will be worth 0.05 BTC minus transaction fee and will be sent back to yourself as change.
1517  Other / Meta / Re: View Counter of each Reply on: March 07, 2023, 08:47:50 AM
I think it not's possible to implement that at all.
I don't think there is any way for the forum to know whether the user who visited the thread scrolled down to read your reply or not. It's only possible to know how many users visited the thread.
1518  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Why this transaction cannot be pushed? on: March 06, 2023, 11:47:22 PM
The private key is equal to one. However, for 3JvL6Ymt8MVWiCNHC7oWU6nLeHNJKLZGLN it is possible to sweep coins, but for 33q2i3GDkpHFAXnD3UdBsKhxzg7pvwAqtN it cannot be done. Why?
I just tried to broadcast the transaction in question using coinb.in and got the following error.
non-mandatory-script-verify-flag (Using non-compressed keys in segwit) (code 64)

If I am not wrong, the transaction isn't standard due to spending bitcoin from a segwit address derived from an uncompressed private key.
The only thing you can do is to contact a mining pool and ask them to include the transaction in a block. (It's very unlikely that any mining pool will accept such a request.)
1519  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Mini private key format on: March 06, 2023, 08:56:34 PM
There serval reason for the S to be used as you know in the mini private keys there some uppercase, lowercase and Numbers mixture with the total 30 characters.
It may worth mentioning that a mini private key can be also in 22 character format.
For more information, visit Mini private key format on Bitcoin Wiki.
1520  Economy / Exchanges / Re: loss insurance Scam or Legit? on: March 06, 2023, 06:14:13 PM
Sadly a friend of mine was told about this exchange by a another "friend" so he invested a significant amount of money. .
Are you sure he/she is a friend? Most probably your friend was scammed by a stranger in messaging applications.

Now that he wishes to withdraw it, they told him he needs to invest a minimum amount before they allow withdrawals, so he put more in. Then they say he needs to add another large amount for taxes before he can withdraw.
I hope your friend isn't going to make another deposit.
Any service asking you to make a deposit to be able to make a withdrawal is a scam and there are no exceptions.
