I like to see that new people come to bitcoin and find out pretty fast about all the scams and danger of investments and trades. Hardening them for life and making them not lose money, hopefully, in the future anymore. Bitcoin... Cheesy
1522  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unconfirmed bitcoins? on: January 27, 2016, 10:42:23 PM
thank you very much SebastianJu,

but to use another wallet i have to move the coins there by a tx. how bigger this fee have to be?

if i put 0.0005 btc as fee, then will it work?

thank you.

I can tell you that a day ago i wanted to send a transaction with 10 inputs and three outputs. The suggested fee was 0.00016017 bitcoins.

I don't know how it changes the suggested fee with having more than one output address. I sent all coins, by the way, when you send some coins away from an address so that some coins remain in there, then you would have 2 output addresses too.

I find it strange since some time that no one generated a calculator online for this. Specifying the amount of inputs and outputs and getting a rough estimate for the suggested fee. Should be relatively easy with bitcoin core running on that server.
1523  Economy / Securities / Re: [CANNABIT] Investment Details - Announcement & Discussion Thread #cannabit on: January 27, 2016, 10:28:52 PM
Some short stats and to get the thread up to catch some more shareholders:

12 shareholders claimed their shares but only 8 verified themselfes by checking the inbox, and maybe spamfolder, of the email address they are registered with on cryptostocks.

That's not a big amount but still we have a good number of shares confirmed. In fact a huge part of shares. The number of shareholders that claimed their shares is still low though.

Anyway, it should be enough to move the issuer to start creating the security. The shareholder in contact will try to move him to do this. It would be great when we could start paying out divs to at least those who claimed AND verified their shares. Check the cryptostocks email address inbox if you only claimed but not verified your claim.

I would have awaited more shareholders to act but at the end it is awaitable somewhat since most probably many gave up long ago.
1524  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptostocks - BTC,DVC,LTC denominated Stock Exchange/Crowdfunding Platform on: January 27, 2016, 11:08:33 AM
I asked the vircurex support if they can forward my bug report to the owner but no reaction at all from them. I wonder if that is the general reaction on support requests at vircurex but it would be a bad sign for vircurex too, if so.

I had a support issue a 2 years ago (with vircurex) .. it took them 3 days to answer.

   one4many

Then it might be the type of request i had. Cheesy Anyway, it seems cryptostocks is back since some hours. Still the email functionality only works for the issuers, who receive their daily list of shareholders. But not for the normal user.

I'm not sure if kumala only added this now but at the bottom in settings there is a button to check if one can receive emails from cs. Though i can't receive emails from them. And my emailprovider is not blocking anything since i control it somewhat. The strange thing is that it worked months ago, now not anymore.

Hmm ... I can't find that button. But I tried to withdraw some BTC and I got the message that the Wallet is offline. So I guess it is not fully fixed yet.

Wow, that sounds bad. Roll Eyes Well, i think nobody except maybe issuers will send coins there. Hopefully.

The button is at the bottom of the settings page when you click your username -> settings and then on the bottom is the checkbox for email confirmation and below a button to check if you can receive email.

But don't worry, users can't.
1525  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Offering Free BTC->Debit Card Exchanges, Escrow Allowed on: January 27, 2016, 10:52:18 AM
Sounds like you are selling virtual credit cards. Once you received the escrows payment you can't send a physical card at all. And what about the risk of you discharging the card?

I would not know how to be safe of that offer.
1526  Other / Meta / Re: Suggesting a warning on the digital goods section. on: January 27, 2016, 10:44:42 AM
A notice on top of threads in that subforum and currency exchange might be worth it. Similar to the newbie warning in pm's.

I saw a thread in currency exchange, someone offering to buy bitcoin with paypal, selfmoderated thread. You don't even can warn of the risk there except you give him negative trust right away. And judging from the feedback he gave a newbie bought already. I wonder if a neg trust would be justified, just in case or if this i going too far.

A notice on top would at least bring risks and safety measures to noobies attention.
1527  Local / Off-Topic (Deutsch) / Re: fragdenstaat.de/fragdenbundestag/ on: January 27, 2016, 10:25:20 AM

I have completed my Bitcoin Reward site.

Can someone tell me what else is need for the site.

http://huntbits.com/questions-answers/?mref=huntbits

You are not allowed to post refferal link of any site here in the forum.Since you are newbie,I would advice you to go through all stickies in Meta section. Please take care next time while posting

I think it's not a problem when he is the owner of the site. Probably only tries to log how many visitors he can attract with his link. Though in general you are correct.
1529  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Could I mine Bitcoin with a MacBook Air? on: January 27, 2016, 09:58:49 AM
Ok, good to know, so could there be any alternatives? I've heard about cloud mining, but I'm not entirely sure how that works.
Buy ASIC miners which are dedicated mining hardware. 99% of cloud mining services are scams so stay away from them.

Though even when buying mining hardware, you need to calculate very carefully because the difficulty to mine is rising and profits going down constantly. I think a lot of miners are happy when they get their investment back at least.
1530  Other / Off-topic / Re: Free ssl letsencrypt.org on: January 27, 2016, 09:56:48 AM
I think a scam site would have no problem getting an ssl encryption. They would not even have to use free solutions where you are prompted to download a certificate but there are certificates that are shared and using them can be paid for. It probably would be worth to buy if phising is so successfull.

Or does this project mean the name shown in the green ssl field can be altered or will show a trustworthy name?
1531  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unconfirmed bitcoins? on: January 27, 2016, 09:47:11 AM
good morning,

does anybody know what fee i have to pay if i send a few coins (lets say 0.010 btc), having 80-90 inputs and 2 outputs?
i have such a transaction, unconfirmed since more than 20 hours. what will happen with this?

thank you for advice.

better to send always with the standard fee around 10k satoshi, otherwise you can try your luck with 1k satoshi, it was working good for me, until i used that fee for a micro payment  less than0.01

With so many inputs the transaction will be pretty high. It might be that the suggested fee is even higher than 10k satoshies. To be sure cocorico, you should use a wallet that allows you to suggest a fee. Then it is easier to find the amount of fee that would work.
1532  Economy / Securities / Re: [CANNABIT] Investment Details - Announcement & Discussion Thread #cannabit on: January 27, 2016, 09:43:49 AM
Since it seems to be the case that some shareholders did not read their email they registered on the form and with which they are registered at cryptostocks, here a notice:

In order to get fully verified you need to check that email address, maybe check spamfolder when you don't see an email, and follow the instructions.

This is to protect shareholders against scammers who might know a shareholders email address and maybe even the amount of shares they own. Email must get verified too. And in order that no scammer can fake an email coming from another shareholders email address you need to check the instructions. It's actually very easy but important. Wink
1533  Other / Meta / Re: On Censorship on: January 27, 2016, 09:36:38 AM
Ah, that's fine then. But i already see myself stopping to quote you easily. Cheesy

As long as you get a notice about your post being deleted it's fine. Though you get no notice when a whole thread was killed or the user who started it and you posted in this thread.
1534  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is EXACTLY where it needs to be right now, what the hell! on: January 27, 2016, 09:27:11 AM
I'm not sure where you live but sending 100 bucks from one bank account to another costs zero fee in my country. Holding the bank account is free too. So how should i explain why bitcoin needs higher fees now?

It's different when it comes to sending over country borders but rarely i get to know a person that needs to do this regularly.

The other advantage is the speed of course. But how long until we have fees like paypal have?
1535  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to check? on: January 27, 2016, 09:16:02 AM
You can use the free script, that was crowdfunded, to calculate the potential activity of an account too. See this thread for getting the script. Some users uploaded the script to their webspace too and you can use it for free there. Read the thread you might find a free link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1148181.0
1536  Other / Meta / Re: On Censorship on: January 27, 2016, 09:07:48 AM
So let me get this straight, moderation is an abstract thing that only exists in a fantasy and everything that we do is censorship? In no way is this any kind of censorship.

Often posts are deleted when users get nuked (superpermabanned).
Due to other people quoting non existent posts, correct. This was the case in this thread as well.

So quoting the wrong persons post will make your own post vanish too? How is it connected to ones own post? A flag that you clicked on quote there? I would have thought a quote is only a link to a nonexistant post like it can be seen often.

Sounds like nuking is dangerous if it goes that far. Maybe i misunderstood...
1537  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Bitcoin Instant - Is this site legit? on: January 27, 2016, 08:50:20 AM
If you don't understand what they do or how they can generate such profits in reality then stay away. You should never invest when you have a slight doubt. Since when you invest you might hope for some profit but the first thing that happens is that you lose 100% of your investment. And the question is if you get your investment back and maybe some profit on top.

If it's too good to be true then it's a lie. Don't test it. Even hyip's that lived for years, like UInvest, die at the end. Leaving their investors with nothing. The money is with others.

And even there, they offered projects to fund, like companies and hotels were even a noob could say that no hotel can make this kind of investment into a profit for himself and for investors.
1538  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-01-27] Cannabis Security Company Accepts Bitcoin as Payment From Clientele on: January 27, 2016, 08:44:09 AM
Should be no surprise. Ask the average drug addict nowadays how he pays for his drugs. If it's not cash then it's "Bitcoin"... Cheesy

Might be that this is pretty good connected to the legal states marijuana businesses.
1539  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Soft fork is a deadly virus on: January 27, 2016, 08:41:59 AM
I have read your explaination in the other thread and indeed i think this is a hefty thing to plan. Consensus is something different i think. It is tricking into believing everything is right.

What i ask myself, when the old nodes only see empty blocks, aren't the transactions needed to calculate if the block hash is correct? If the transactions are not seeable then how can the hash be calculated as valid? As far as i remember, changing the transactions of a block will give you another seed part that is used as base to find the block hash.

You write that segwit miner still would need nearly half of the network to do this fork but wouldn't it be sufficient when 10% segwit nodes find a block, let's say a minute before the 90% non segwit nodes, then they propagate it through matt's network? or through other fast connections to all the big miners and these miners can instantly confirm the block because nothing big to be calculated. They would accept the block and that would be it.

Though even then, the old nodes would still think the bitcoins, that were moved in the segwit block, are at the old addresses, wouldn't that mean a fork of some kind has happened because a big part of the network has other details about the status of the bitcoins?

I'm surely not so much into the tech so i might be fully wrong. Tongue

And i already wanted to report this as spam. Smiley Though at least it allows bitcoin payments. But the presentation is pretty spammy. A little bit more effort would have been good.
