1523  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency many coin - v1.8 Required Update on: February 03, 2015, 03:58:54 PM
It seems DOGE is DYING!!!!
Lots of folks are dumping it! Cry Sad Embarrassed

Sad but true =(
I've dumped 200k doge when it was around 100 satoshis. Dumping the rest now. Same with with all other altcoins. Will use only bitcoin. Bitcoin only and forever. =)

There is always a right time to sell coins if you are already making profit , but some people don't understand it and rather dump the coins when price is plummeting .
Bought 2BTCs of DOGE back in the glorious days of Vircurex. Got Vircurexed twice... I now only got 1M of DOGE and waiting for the right time to sell. I don't expect it will go @200 anytime soon but if you don't need the funds, why sell at a loss? Wink

I don't think it will be possible for him to sell anything under the current conditions. Like you said earlier, the story comes to an end soon...

Sorry for off topic, but so many here are talking about hired trolls so... could anyone tell me (or send a private message) how can one get money by trolling? Sounds more like a myth but...

Even though it's an urban myth among us, there's a strong possibility for some of them doing that just for their amusement. This board consists of persons with high dedication, [relatively] high IQ and the trolls may enjoy being here facing strong arguments which is something different than usual spits & curses happening elsewhere. I don't know if you can find someone to pay you for trolling, but I can point you here just in case you want to make some BTCs with your posts.

Cheers.

I'd think everyone would have them on ignore by now but it's hard to imagine that someone would dedicate 600+ post + a bunch of other nicks https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=347792;sa=showPosts;start=600 just to say that BTC is dooooomed. There are no strong arguments here or IQ, it's a same broken record DOOOOOMED. Now i'd feel just sad for them if they're not getting at least 50c/hr for all that work
I've always thought that YourMother is totally mental. I know him from the Cloak thread and I was glad that I didn't ignore him (though I still lost money).

Thanks for the services link (had missed that one)

You're welcome. Just be sure you keep an eye there everyday so that you enter a legit campaign.

@DaRude: I strongly believe he's on a payroll. I can't prove it though. If he's not, he surely has some effect to the price (ie: posting on short crashes to cause further panic etc indicates insider info and/or being a whale). Otherwise it wouldn't make sense.

https://www.mtgox.com/img/pdf/20150202_tibanne.pdf

"While I have continually and strongly claimed against TIBANNE Co., Ltd. (“TIBANNE”), which is the parent company of MtGox Co., Ltd. (“MtGox”), for repayment of the loan receivables that MtGox has against TIBANNE, repayment from TIBANNE has not yet been made. Accordingly, on January 29, 2015, I applied for commencement of the bankruptcy proceeding for TIBANNE, as a creditor thereof, with permission from the Tokyo District Court. In response, on January 30, 2015, the Tokyo District Court issued an order of commencement of the bankruptcy proceeding for TIBANNE.
I, as the Bankruptcy Trustee of MtGox, will continue to make efforts to take necessary measures with respect to collection of receivables due from affiliated companies, etc."

Damn! I didn't mean TODAY!!!  Grin

maybe this is a good time to CLOSE THE THREAD

maybe this is a good time for the forum & thread to disappear like over the weekend.

Seems odd - bitcointalk shuts down when we crash to the bottom and bounce back

Puts on tinfoil: Theymos leads to the price crash and then disappears with our valuable posts.
What's Theymos been doing with all the member BTC donations?
Certainly not improving the forum software as it keeps crashing.

Yeah, seems the forum needs an upgrade . It certainly isn't responding well. And been down for too much time.

The new forum is being developed, for the small price of 1 million dollars.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a voting-ban system according to the people who have put someone in ignore?
Just saying... Roll Eyes
1534  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: February 02, 2015, 11:27:29 AM
I believe that we will have some movement on Gox on the next few days/weeks. A year has passed and everybody seems to be aware of what happened, except for the people who lost money over this. Sad
1535  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 02, 2015, 09:56:16 AM
WTF is wrong with this forum

Indeed, seems to be down quite a lot lately.

Yes. Trolling overdose. We must start spraying.
1536  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 31, 2015, 11:21:07 PM

It is not compatible. I don't give a shit about that article, or the concept of velocity of money. I have written about that numerous times. Although it can be computed, giving a number, the parameter says exactly nothing of the value of money.

I don't get. At least at its core, this isn't some economical conjecture, this is just what you can or cannot do given a set of constraints on your medium of exchange.

If we agree on a medium that consists of a total of 10 tokens, we know that we'll buy and sell goods worth $100 each day, each transfer causes the tokens used in that transfer to be out of circulation for one day, then there is no way around an associated valuation per token of at least $10, or one of the other constraints has to give in (more tokens, less value transferred, less time before token is back in circulation).

At least to my understanding, velocity of money is essentially a formalization of the intuition behind the trivial example I just gave.

But feel free to correct my lack of understanding on this matter. It's possible that I'm missing something very fundamental here.

The velocity of money is meant to be a parameter of interaction with the so called "Laffer Curve", which in essence is a way to calculate the taxation within a country. I must agree with Erdogan here that (at least for now) velocity of money is incompatible with bitcoin.

Perma holder her too! Stay calm people!

You compare a gold chart with 20% dips with BTC with 90% dips?
Not to mention the 13 months long bear market.

Look at it again and think harder! This is a 10 year chart. COmpare this with BTCs life history chart.

See my point now?

That is an interesting chart. If you look the perspective (and ignore the trolls) you may see similarities in the pattern. Thanks for this Afrikoin.
1538  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 29, 2015, 11:07:38 AM
What sort of estimate are we looking at for when the next halving happens price wise?

I know there are many things to factor in but say if the halving was now at 230 USD what price would we then be looking at?

Rough estimate?

I'd bet we won't have to wait until the next halving to see prices over $1000. Chart addicts point to next April/May. But I guess about 700-1000 range would be a bearish-bullish prediction with the current data.

Hashrate vs Difficulty chart certifies that we've probably reached a plateau... Roll Eyes

Is this going to crash now? How did you know?

He had inside info.
One serious question though...
