1521  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is this safe to say this about casino platforms on: January 26, 2023, 06:07:23 PM
It's a known fact that casinos make money by having a built-in advantage over players, called the "house edge." This means that, over time, the casino will usually make more money than it pays out in winnings. But, it's not true that casinos pay winners with losers' money.
Most casinos have their investors who supply the money for the casino to operate. They're usually wealthy folks who believe they can make a profit by investing in a casino. The same goes for online casinos, which are also businesses that need investors who supply them with funds they can use to run their operations.
1522  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: January 26, 2023, 05:45:51 PM
In my own opinion I just see it as a risk, but the question is , was the risk worth it?? Using 1.4million dolls to bet 1.01 odd to me its insane because the money you are expecting to win is not worth the risk, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion and risk .

For me, it's just too risky. I mean, spending 1.4 million dollars to bet on a 1.01 odds? That's crazy. The potential winnings aren't worth it, in my opinion. But hey, everyone's got their own risk tolerance and opinions. I guess it just depends on how much you're willing to risk for a chance at a big payout. But it's important to consider all possible outcomes, not just the potential reward. And you better have a plan if things don't go your way.
1523  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Know any laptop wallets that have Google 2FA login? on: January 26, 2023, 05:29:45 PM
Yeah, you're right on point that 2FA is a common security measure, but it doesn't really work with non-custodial wallets. With non-custodial wallets, you're in charge of your own private keys and access to your funds, so 2FA wouldn't really add much. Instead, many desktop wallets support using a hardware device for an extra layer of security.

On the other hand, custodial wallets, like the ones you find on exchanges, are controlled by a third party and they hold your private keys for you. That's why you see 2FA used more on custodial wallets, to add an extra layer of protection for your account.
1524  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason why I will never help anyone to invest in crypto on: January 26, 2023, 05:02:25 PM
It sounds like you've had some bad experiences with people who wanted you to help them invest in crypto but didn't put in the effort themselves. I get it, it's frustrating when people are lazy and expect you to do everything for them. But, you know, everyone's different and maybe they just had different priorities or circumstances. Everyone's experiences with crypto can be pretty different depending on where they live and what resources they have. I don't mean to be a jerk but it sounds like you're being a little judgmental about their situation. It might help you look at them more sympathetically if you knew that a lot of people around the world don't have access to basic resources or education, and are out of options. Sometimes they're just trying to find a way out because even selling their labor isn't an option.
1525  Other / Meta / Re: Know who ignores who on: January 25, 2023, 11:11:23 PM
I will like to ask if i put a user on ignore, will he be able to send me PM? i need to have this clarification because I've discovered recently on receiving unsolicited messages on my PM which i will love to stop the sender against future reoccurrence, i think this will help me more if possible than reporting them to moderators which may also get them into more troubles, any PM i received and suspect them to be abnormal will get the sender ignored by me.

To block members from sending you private messages on bitcointalk.org, go to your "Profile" and then to "Personal Message Options" (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;sa=pmprefs). On that page, you will find the "Ignorelist" feature, where you can add the members you wish to block.
1526  Economy / Reputation / Re: SBF-Ross Ulbricht on: January 25, 2023, 10:18:42 PM
It's only fair that criminals get what's coming to them for their actions, but unfortunately, life isn't always fair, and neither is the legal system. Especially when politics are involved.

The Ulbricht case involved a significant amount of political influence and it appears that politics also play a role in the SBF case. However, the difference is that last time the politics worked against the accused, this time it looks like it might be working for him.
1527  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Doxxed team can help a new gambling platform? on: January 25, 2023, 03:18:33 PM
....
While it's true that there is always a potential for danger when personal information is known, the fact is that these types of attacks and threats are relatively rare. And I still disagree that the owners of cryptocurrency casinos would be in any more danger than the owners of traditional casinos and other physical businesses. And besides, we have laws and police to protect them, it's not like we live in the wild west.
I'm going to escalate this a bit.

Let's say for example a player won $100K but he was not allowed by the casino to claim it for some reason. He became desperate and took his frustration out on the casino owner by pulling a gun. Attacks like that may be rare as it seems but it will only take one to take a life. Yes laws and police can come after the player but that won't save the owner anymore. Casino business is tricky and that danger is there for owners regardless if it's online or physical.

I get your point and I agree that there are certainly some unscrupulous individuals out there who may use such drastic actions. However, I still don't see how online casinos are fundamentally different from brick-and-mortar ones in this regard. Let's say that I am the CEO of a company that runs a chain of casinos across the country. Should I be afraid to walk down the street because of all the losers who lost their life savings in one of my casinos? Well, maybe I should. But I am still required by law to publish my personal information in public records as the CEO of the company. Why should an online casino be any different?
1528  Economy / Reputation / Re: My apology to all. And please read the whole post before you do anything. on: January 25, 2023, 12:42:36 AM
I'm not defending @OP here, I will be more appreciated if someone can prove me wrong and the @OP is actually a cheater.

The OP has already admitted creating the accounts in question, which makes them his alt accounts. The act of exchanging merits between these accounts and participating in a contest with multiple accounts constitutes cheating. Should we believe that he no longer has control over these accounts? There is no evidence, such as log records of password changes, to suggest that these accounts have been transferred to other individuals.

calling other members an idiot, a moron along with other insults,
I've seen that many times when someone is out of arguments for their lies.

And I have seen a lot of people like you, who better shut the fuck up instead of opening their mouth. If you cant give a constructive answer then get out idiot.
I can't help it that you are.

He actually offered a constructive suggestion: "sign the address", but you chose to disregard it and belittle those whose opinions you disagree with. This raises questions about your credibility and character. Can you at least try to communicate like an adult?

False accusations are simply refuted with proper evidence. It's not that hard.
1530  Economy / Gambling / Re: Positive Gambling Quotes for 2023! on: January 24, 2023, 11:50:55 PM
Here is a quote that I find particularly amusing:

Quote
"A man's gotta make at least one bet a day, else he could be walking around lucky and never know it."Horace A. "Jimmy" Jones

This quote is a playful and humorous way of expressing the idea that taking risks is a part of life, and that by not taking risks, one might miss out on potential opportunities. It's suggesting that it's important to take risks and try new things in life, to discover what the fate holds for you.
1531  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Too accessible of online casino grows addiction faster? on: January 24, 2023, 11:24:35 PM
That's an interesting point of view, but I think they're wrong. Yes, online gambling is more accessible and potentially more addictive now, but the same can be said for any activity that can be done online and from the comfort of your home. If you have an addictive personality and a tendency toward compulsive behavior, then yes, gambling online can be dangerous. But if you're aware of your tendencies and take steps to protect yourself (perhaps by setting limits on how much money you spend or by only gambling with money that's disposable), then there's no reason why it can't be as safe and enjoyable as playing at a land-based casino. Plus, with the advancement of technology, there are now tools and resources available to help prevent compulsive gambling. It's all about finding that balance and being responsible with your choices. In my opinion, it's not the medium that's the problem; it's the individual's inability to practice self-control. And, when you play at a land-based casino, it's much harder to say no when you see an opportunity for instant gratification, imho.
1532  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Doxxed team can help a new gambling platform? on: January 24, 2023, 10:16:58 PM
It will probably help since this sounds more like a marketing stunt to me. You have to ask if it is worth risking the security of the owners in revealing their identity over the "fairness on KYC". I'm thinking of a $5 wrench attack if a gambler is near the area of the owner.

$5 wrench attack on the casino owner? For what? It's not like they're walking around with the casino's entire bankroll in their pocket. And let's be real, all physical business owners handling large sums of cash are in the same boat.
You never know what people desperate for money thinks. Have you not heard or read anything about those people attacked because they own some crypo? They are not even rich or own a significant amount. It may not be a $5 wrench attack against these casino owners but the danger remains when their personal info is known.

I don't know. I still believe that transparency and accountability are important principles for any business, and hiding behind anonymity can breed mistrust and suspicion. While it's true that there is always a potential for danger when personal information is known, the fact is that these types of attacks and threats are relatively rare. And I still disagree that the owners of cryptocurrency casinos would be in any more danger than the owners of traditional casinos and other physical businesses. When I zoomed in on the image enough, I noticed a 1 px offset from the bottom edge of the chat bubble. It shouldn't be there if the screenshot is genuine.

This is the deviation that the user says:
<...>

And what is encircled in red in this image? Isn't that the deviation Poker Player was talking about in the first post?

Royse77 says that this happens often in his Telegram, but I looked through dozens of screenshots on the forum and elsewhere on the Internet and didn't find it anywhere. There is probably some logical explanation, so I'm interested in your opinion on what could be the cause.

1. The drop in chat bubbles, that neither in our Telegram nor searching the Internet we have been able to see and you say they are normal in your Telegram.

*Maybe I have to open a screenshot analysis service... Let me know what you think.  Roll Eyes

Sure, why not. If you have skills why not use them.  Smiley
1535  Economy / Reputation / Re: My ignore list and my feedbacks and is Poker Player acceptable? on: January 21, 2023, 08:59:08 PM
The point of the story is we don't know what these screenshots really reveal.  If they reveal anything!  After giving them some real consideration I have more questions than answers.  But I do have answers to these questions:  Do I believe Royse fabricated the screenshots?  Do I believe the claim that Poker Player communicated with the potential client?  Do I believe believe the "client" was real and not just a time-wasting bully?  The answer to all these questions is no, there's nothing to convince me otherwise.

As LoyceV mentioned, nothing can be proven by these screenshots.  They may look like they paint an ugly picture of one user undermining another, but there isn't nearly enough known to be sure.  And maybe, just maybe there's a small possibility that a third party is stirring the pot in the hopes to keep the drama alive.  I wouldn't put it past some of the drama queens on this forum.

I would just like to echo this. It's important to keep in mind that online communication can be easily manipulated and fabricated. It's also understandable that you have doubts about the credibility of the screenshot evidence, whether it was fabricated or not, and about the existence of the supposed client. The moment I read the alleged communication, I had my doubts about its credibility. But, even if the screenshots were genuine, there is no way to confirm the identity of the person on the other end. It could even have been that disgraced user naim027, who is still hanging around on the forum and has a history of some weird stuff like that.
1536  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you calculate house edge...? on: January 21, 2023, 07:51:29 PM
In my opinion, it's important to understand the house edge for each game you play. Different casinos and different rules of the games can affect the house edge, and it may vary for different games and different variations of the same game.

I was once unpleasantly surprised when I realized that a game I had thought to be a simple variation of blackjack was actually much more complex than that. It turned out that the house edge of the variation was higher than regular blackjack, and I lost quite badly by not knowing how the game played before sitting down to play it! That's why it's important to read up on the rules of any game you play so that you can understand the odds and make an informed decision about whether or not it's worth your time.
1537  Economy / Gambling / Re: Going to win 6000 usd on a ufc bet 21 january (listen to me and double your mone on: January 21, 2023, 07:36:53 PM
I agree that betting on any outcome carries a level of risk. It's important for individuals to conduct their own research and make informed decisions before placing a bet. It's also important to be cautious when taking advice from others, as they may not have access to reliable information or may not have the best interests in mind. I don't like to blindly follow advice without considering the source or trying to understand why they're making the recommendation.
1538  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gates of olympus on: January 21, 2023, 06:54:39 PM
As for how to play it, it's like with any other slot, you don't need to know anything, just push the button, and anything that follows entirely depends on luck.

Yes, that is generally how slot games work. To play a slot game, you typically select your bet amount, press the spin button, and then the reels will spin. The combination of symbols that land on the reels will determine whether you win or lose.

I'm always confused when I hear someone claim to follow some techniques or strategies while they play slots. Slots are games of chance, and the outcome of each spin is determined by a random number generator. There are not strategies that will increase your chances of winning.
1539  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your take on this crypto gambling use case idea? on: January 21, 2023, 02:44:15 PM
A crypto gambling platform that accepts only its own tokens and offers new, unique, and addictive games could drive demand for the token, making it more valuable. However, this depends on factors such as the platform's user base, marketing, and overall adoption of the token by the crypto community. A platform with a large user base could drive demand for its tokens, but if there are only a few users on the platform, it may not be enough to drive up demand for the token.

If it is a new platform, I think it makes more sense that it accepts a wide range of popular coins and tokens. The more options, the better. This will help to bring in more users, and hopefully it will be a self-sustaining cycle. It is likely that the platform will attract users who want to play games with their favorite cryptocurrency, but this may not be enough to drive up demand for the token.

What are you trying to accomplish with this, anyway?
