1521  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: January 14, 2014, 07:01:44 AM
one of the server nodes got stuck at block 280136 due to a corrupt bitcoind database (36 blocks behind), catching up now, so when you read this everything should be synchronized

Is something stuck again? Got a tx in Mycelium with 0 confirmations after an hour. Blockchain.info shows 3 confirmations.
1522  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Work in progess] Burnins Avalon Chip to mining board service on: January 14, 2014, 05:30:37 AM
Wheres the fuse and what do i have to do to replace it when its broken? One bitburner xx stopped working and doesnt react at all so i wanted to see if a fuse is broken. Only i dont know where it is and dont see broken things.

burnin on fuses: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=179769.msg3376653#msg3376653 ;-)

Looks like some soldering skills are required. Maybe a local mobile phone / electronics repair shop can help.

Please stop asking about "payout address": if there were no payouts, it is 100% irrelevant.

I didn't. I am looking forward to a statement in clear simple terms from Garr255 (a bit more than "oh, by the way...").

If you read from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=67547.msg3790160#msg3790160 :

The calculations being used here can only estimate the output of a given mining rig + pool combination. It turns out that our pool has had a bad luck streak for a good while and we have since switched to mineb.tc which is proving to be a bit more reliable, with more consistent payouts. We should see output much closer to these calculations with the coming dividends.

and just a little bit later:

Correct. Usually Cognitive can solo mine consistently enough to make sizable payouts, but it was an unlucky few weeks and I have changed the pool strategy accordingly.

This reads to me: We were mining at a pool (first bold), had bad luck and switched to mineb.tc. Then two posts later solo mining is mentioned. So which one was it initially? Pool or solo?

I have read this whole thread since it started and I do not recall any other mention of solo mining, a good number of mention of different pools though.

1526  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on[Havelock] on: January 01, 2014, 04:26:35 AM

But he did right? He said he was solo mining?

I'm not saying you should believe it, but that was his story right?

I must have missed it. Link?

Garr can you address these calculations?

Sure thing.

Err, I fail to see a mention of solo mining in that quote. Did you mean this one?

Correct. Usually Cognitive can solo mine consistently enough to make sizable payouts, but it was an unlucky few weeks and I have changed the pool strategy accordingly.

Same as other users I want to know what happened, that's all. Chirping about transparency and not providing it doesn't work for me.

Are there plans to allow turning an old phone into a cheap hardware wallet? Have some private keys exist on a phone (with some type of phrase to restore them in case the phone dies) that is disconnected from everything permanently and it just signs transactions using qr codes?

There is (was?):

I too am confident in share prices rising ones dividends are consistently being produced in January when we will have a 100% transparent operation.

Best,
Garrett

Why is it so difficult to have a 100% transparent operation for the last three months. Just post the logs from the pools etc.
1530  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] KRAKEN.COM - Exchange Now Open with USD, EUR, BTC, LTC, XRP, NMC on: December 29, 2013, 08:52:30 AM
because USD is going down, better go out from USD to EUR if you are going to hold fiat for a while

Is that even possible if you already have fiat in USD in the account

Buy BTC with your USD. Sell the BTC for EUR.

"Cognitive" account deposit addresses were:

Hope that helps.

Thank you. Just throwing some things out there:

Last reward on mineb to garr255 (assuming that is COG as I could not find a user cog or similar there): 2013-12-02 05:41 AM
(0.08308076 BTC)

This was for mineb block 1690 (https://mineb.tc/statistics/blocks/1690, which is listed there as Block #272559 (https://blockchain.info/block-index/0000000000000004362b7973d243a6c907c150f4822c97b9874305ea1a145b21)

mineb finished on 3. Dec. https://mineb.tc/statistics

Am I on to something here?

That is very.. interesting.. esp. since it does not have a captcha..

What do you suggest?

On a dev copy of the live db I was able to reset the pass, login, and execute a withdraw.
Perhaps your browser? cookies disabled?

I tried different browsers. All had cookies enabled. No proxy or Tor. The captcha is cloudflares' (CloudFlare Ray ID: de37facdcf607ff).

I'll try again when I have access from a different system / network.

Thanks for the help.

It just goes in circles for me. I can log in at the link, but at the withdraw page when I enter my password,  I sometimes get password error, sometimes a captcha, sometimes it just shows the withdrawal page again. However the amounts do not change. I use keepass for my password. I also have tried to re-login. All to no avail.

Firefox freezes after pulling out graph on Kraken. Same thing on both  MacPro and MacBook Pro, latest osx, latest Firefox, with or without plugins.  Could someone look into it. Thanks.

That's now been mentioned twice or so, I think. They said the issue was with FF and they are working on it. Their current recommendation is to use Chrome or Internet Explorer.

1536  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The 2nd Stage Server Con ( Currently ~$2,000,000 ) 2 MILLION DOLLARS!! on: December 17, 2013, 02:20:49 AM
There's a post in the G.AM.PT thread saying friedcat already put the divs on hold for the PT shares.

Does anyone have the last "asset list" from Bitfunder?
1537  Economy / Securities / Re: Starting a new FPGA mining farm/contract! Cognitive Resurrected on[Havelock] on: December 17, 2013, 02:02:24 AM
Edit: I see on the site where there will be charts to track mining output

Right now we are much more interested in the past. I am not familiar with all the pools where Cognitive mines or has mined at, but all the pools I mine at personally have some sort of history log (i.e. payouts). Post the ones available.

(yes, I read the thread, shareholder since day 1)
1538  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The 2nd Stage Server Con ( Currently ~$2,000,000 ) 2 MILLION DOLLARS!! on: December 17, 2013, 01:40:46 AM

Has there been news as to when the shares on bitfunder will be converted to direct shares?

Which shares are you talking about? The issuers have the full list of shareholders. AM100 for example has moved on already. Ukyo is in charge of G.AM.PT. So we're waiting on him to send the shares to friedcat. My guess is, his priority (?) is winding up wexchange first.
1539  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CoinMap - Map showing places where Bitcoin is accepted on: December 16, 2013, 05:53:23 AM

My next question is, is there a way to see all of the new businesses that are added to coinmap? It's really cool checking from time to time and seeing 20 new locations on coinmap, but I never know where they are. I'd like to see all of the new ones every day. Is this possible?

Maybe this could be a starting point?  http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OWL
1540  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CoinMap - Map showing places where Bitcoin is accepted on: December 16, 2013, 05:33:04 AM
I hate to be "that guy" but I've noticed several locations on coinmap in my area that have no physical presence. They might be businesses with contact information of people that will meet up or something or link to a facebook page or website. But no building that sells goods and services. I've considered removing them from coinmap.

Thoughts?

I agree. As stick put it earlier in this thread: if something is on a map, one expects it to be there. I got carried away myself initially and would post every bitcoin business I'd came across, to get "the numbers up".  After stick made his point I took the ones without physical presence off the map.
