1541  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I don't know if am right or wrong about this. on: May 25, 2023, 08:28:12 PM
I don't know if am wrong or right for opening up, even though I told him of the risk involved.

It will suffice to tell him that trading in cryptocurrency market is risky and that he must carefully control the risk. In addition, if you specify that he should have knowledge about the market, follow the news and do his own research before taking any action, there will be no situation where you have to take responsibility.
It is also necessary to remind your friend to trade in the cryptocurrency market with his savings that he does not need in short or mid term, because a beginner can lose all his savings in cryptocurrency market as a result of greed, and this can hurt him a lot.

Explaining how to trade to someone without experience even on stock market will take more than weeks. There is too much to consider before dipping one leg to this market unless OP guide his friend in every step.

These few weeks and possibly in the next few months, the market will experience a lot of turbulence and this will be a setback traders trying to live off the market. What I can suggest let the newbie trade in the bull run, so he can taste the greatness in crypto. Let him stop trading in bear.  Its less risky.
1542  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much impact will China allowing crypto again have on Bitcoin? on: May 25, 2023, 07:59:02 PM

By what the article is saying means by June 1 is the first day where they will allow exchange registration for license.

But there are already local exchanges operating in Hongkong, therefore they are already trading for a long time. Unless those local exchanges only list certain coins, it will be good to have more coins from international exchanges.

Quote
Crypto trading companies that are already operating will have nine months starting from the first of June to apply for a license, or else they must cease all operations, CCTV said.
1543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Casinos Should Do Survey From Time To Time To Assess You. on: May 25, 2023, 04:04:11 AM

More surveillance. Weve got enough already from exchanges.
It would be good to implement but they could just stop there as its favourable for casinos to not mind how much gamblers spend. Even if this extensive KYC down to whether they should notify or warn users they've reached limits, it could just be done on their casino accounts.

Casino users just have to regulate themselves and not blame the casino if they lose their money.
1544  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin 2024 halving less than 1 year away on: May 25, 2023, 01:38:41 AM

Since majority seem to have voted six months later, would you buy BTC 6 months after halving or now that price seem to have bottomed?

I kind of seeing that it may start earlier actually just this mid 2023 where debt ceiling crisis could be a catalyst. Anything can happen really after June 1st thats why I'm banking on it and voted it has started already.  Grin
1545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Experienced Winning Bets By Upsets on: May 25, 2023, 12:46:06 AM
I generally prefer sports betting. So I sometimes pick underdog football teams to make high amount of profits. Well fun part of it being very risky. When you are able to win through combination of underdogs with high odds, your profit increases a lot more than usual betting. I personally experienced winning in such way. I think in football its pretty much possible lower rank teams beating higher rank ones in their good performing days. But you should pick matches very carefully im my opinion.
Many of us prefer sports betting because it's known to be more profitable than the casino games. That is due to the fact that we can analyze the players statistics and improve our winning rate. There are people who analyze casino games well but it has no effect as the results are still random.

If you want to make a high amount of profit in a much surer way, why not bet more money in the teams that you think has an advantage to win? Lots of players are choosing this path than risking low amounts for higher odds which can still be money and time consuming. Being very risky is not fun, but being too unpredictable can sometimes make the game exciting especially if you don't mind winning.

Count me in. I won't deny that gambling has been my idea of past time since then and I've been playing with some card games that involves analyzation with some of my close friends sometimes but most of the time, I'm with sports betting because other than the fact that it's giving me the thrill and entertainment that I wanted, I'm somehow confident as well that my made bets are close from winning because I did some analysis compared if we play in some casual casinos where most of the games are just pure luck, fast money as always and doesn't really give me the thrill while playing.
Thats how gambling should really be treated up on the first place on which it is really a past time and whatever you would really be tending to do so then its up to you whether you would bet on the favorite or would be going into that underdog. Basing up on real experience then i do have several experiences about those upsets that make me win up and this is only to those bets which arent taken that seriously.
But it did really turn out to be a win which i didnt really expect but honestly it is really a bet which had been applied with some analysis into it and presume or assume out that there would
be some possible comeback.

It must take a lot of convincing yourself to bet for that underdog as I did try justify that Ryan Garcia is going to win over Gervonta Davis all be cause he has speed and long reach advantage. The rest of the users in the thread says Davis is certain to win and I'm just going against it.

A $20 bet could win can triple the amount unfortunately its a loss. The convincing is probably not good when the bookmakers already decided the gap of the odds.

1546  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Opinion on Cardano on: May 24, 2023, 05:08:05 PM
Guys, I wanted to get your opinion on Cardano. I've heard a lot of good things about this cryptocurrency, I'd like to hear your opinion as well. Thanks.
Although not too impressive I also came across this by accident https://twitter.com/cardano_whale/status/1660973941694033920
Elsewhere, trading volume on Cardano has also seen significant growth year-to-date, as the network continues to grow amid a wave of investor interest that seems to be resurfacing. Even so, my expectation is that an ecosystem that is considered to have a lot of competition with the top projects in the market is still showing that they are quite slow.

Its now cheaper so whales are scooping tons of it. Theres still no assurance where Cardano goes from afters years. The top 10 projects today could be on 50 after some time.

Hydra was launched this month but it did not make the price moved enough to trigger a slight bull. Even when Charles kept his AMA all year round.
1547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 24, 2023, 04:37:51 PM

Ohgod Jones vs Fury will compromised Ngannou's plan. Dana really has an axe to grind and he's not going to just let Francis win all the way. But Dana will spend more to make this happen while all UFC fighters will be watching how cruel he can be to hurt the fighter he despise.

I doubt Jones will win however. Fury has been in boxing his entire career, the discipline is tougher than in MMA. If its in UFC you can expect Fury to be just a slouch but its boxing.
1548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been threaten to stop gambling on: May 24, 2023, 03:53:30 PM
He isn't as good as some of us in hiding his gambling spree.
Do you think if he shared his winnings, his wife will just ignore it?  What did he do to the big amount he won, he is married of course she expect he will share everything he has. This isn't gonna happen to me nor she threatened to divorse because I would definitely sign it  Cheesy

An individual winning big the whole night in a traditional casino I think the house will threaten him to leave, I heard such stories before.
1549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Crypto coin Do You Gamble with the Most? on: May 24, 2023, 03:43:19 PM
Stablecoins makes sense. If one safe currency to bet, you can limit the loss you have. I also see BTC too important to lose but we all want more of it which we desire to double as well. And yep I often regret losing BTC because I work as signature bounty to earn them and in just a nick of time, its gone with the dumb choice.

If there are just casinos that will allow unknown meme coin to bet, I'd be the first to also use it those airdropped to my wallet.
1550  Economy / Economics / Re: US Debt Default: Good or bad for crypto? on: May 24, 2023, 03:26:17 PM
The only event that will be able to make mass adoptions for cryptocurrency is the collapse of banks in the United States. And this can only happen as a result of a default or an increase in rates by the Fed. About the default, I do not believe. This is another political struggle, and the US still has the opportunity to pay its obligations for many years.
I don't think many people believe this. What if this is the plan, to do something no one believes in? Simply raising the debt ceiling again is predictable, boring and not a solution to the problem, it seems that the period of increased rates promises to drag on and in such conditions it becomes too expensive to even service the debt, not to mention the possibility of starting to pay off the body of the debt itself. In just one day, May 15, the US government spent nearly $51 billion on interest on the debt. In the end it's not a matter of faith and the crowd is always wrong.

True and understandable to be skeptical about conventional approaches such as raising the debt ceiling, especially when facing a prolonged period of rising interest rates especially when compared to the current conditions pose significant challenges. As you mentioned, the staggering daily spending on interest payments highlights the gravity of the situation.

If could be a planned default after all they want to destroy the fiat system to launche the CBDC. Although CBDC is somehow just a digital form of fiat system, the difference is that they could control the people from now on.

I believe they technically will not default but just completely replace with CBDC which its where they will decide to raise the debt ceiling.

1551  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price motivation benchmark: on: May 23, 2023, 05:17:56 PM

Since your all about profit while holding BTC, it shouldn't be an issue for you to hold a centralized token when you get 50x profit from altcoins in the bull market.

You know when they say don't put everything in one basket doesn't mean exactly in one wallet but also other investment. If you can profit 10x with ETH, it isn't so bad.
1552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Nigerian Father Rejects Son's Gambling Win on: May 23, 2023, 05:10:27 PM

Father must have money and can provide for his family. He Wouldn't act that way if they don't have enough. Or maybe the father is really a disciplinarian and wanted the boy to stop gambling as well.

A boy having that much in Nigeria can live a life on his own afaik. Fathers can see where this boy is heading and he'll have a say in the family which a father will not like.
1553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife discovers husband's hidden Bitcoin during divorce proceeding on: May 23, 2023, 05:01:18 PM
Prenup, guys. No matter how nice she seems, no matter how much you're crazy about her, no matter how supportive and good she seems, ask for a prenup to be signed if you're situated individual.

If she is with you because she loves YOU for you, she wont have any issues with prenup. If she isn't, she'll give you shit and make you feel bad about it. Stay safe, gents

It becomes too unforgiving when you got kids. Just giver her what she deserves, split it after all you can earn it all soon after the bull run and you can double your holdings again.

Does anybody thinks of working as a Cryptocurrency forensic expert already?  Seem a new job that is in demand soon for many of the users who knows how to investigate and follow that chain.  It would sound good to introduce yourself as Crypto Forensic Expert  Cheesy

Because the installed wallet works somehow. In the early days where we didn't need to sign up to bet on binaryoption, I remember I use electrum wallet in my laptop and just by a click to a button electrum pops to confirm the transaction. I think its safer that way than loggin in using our seed or priv key to a web browser.

Its unsafe to connect browser extension wallet.
1555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: increased Youtube Gambling ads? on: May 23, 2023, 04:37:58 PM
I'm asking out of curiosity, are you guys experiencing a surge of gambling ads on youtube videos lately? this past week I've experienced an increased encounter of gambling ads on videos I watch on youtube. it's not that it bothers me, I am just surprised because I don't remember getting this many gambling ads on youtube videos in the past, but this past week, I usually get a gambling ad from 2-3 out of 5 videos I watch(it's just an estimation because of how often I get the ads). I don't know if it is because I recently watched several videos of streamers gambling or it's just a coincidence, I've watched streamers gambling videos in the past but I have never gotten this many gambling ads.
I have also realized this. It's not only on YouTube but when I read various articles or visit some sites, I get a lot of ads from gambling sites. The reason is that the gambling industry is improving day by day due to its expansion various ads are shown in online. Gambling company owners are now arranging to display more advertisements on online based platforms. In addition, the gambling industry has become increasingly competitive, with various streamers trying to advertise their sites by paying large amount of money.

With more adnetworks open to crypto and gambling adverts, do you guys think that advertising in the forum will just be casino's option soon?

It had me thinking that maybe one day our source of beer money may just be over if they can reach out more especially if google allows it already.
1556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 23, 2023, 04:16:45 PM
I'm curious if Francis can bring his UFC belt to the PFL to show off on stage because that will really make Dana crazy.
I think he is crazy already, and maybe it is time for him to retire from his job as a slave master.
Maybe Dana is overdosing with drugs a lot these days, he is now in conflict with another fighter Aljamain Sterling, who asked him to stop calling his name.
They had to make one hour video, Aljamain Sterling Responds To Dana Whites Criticisms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-2FA18BDFc

Dana White is best PFL promoter ever  Grin

Dana White is certainly looking like a bad guy or someone who can't run the UFC anymore. Now I am not saying that it's true. I believe he has done a really good job with the UFC so far. But at the same time, I also believe that the pay of a fighter should have gone up a lot more compared to what it is right now. So far no fighter has been able to get out of the UFC and make more money. Until Francis.

So, now a lot of the fighters are actually starting to think that they actually deserve more money and they are also opening up about it. But at the same time, I think they have to remember that they are not all Francis Ngannou Wink.

Ngannou's PFL contract will make UFC fighters underpaid and Sterling being very vocal of what he thinks about Dana. He must be ready to also go somewhere else, he's young and can go to any promotion thats not toxic.

First fight of Francis under PFL will be watched by every fans and his fellow fighters from all promotions thats for sure. They'll see that Francis did a right decision thinking they too could do it without Dana.
1557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just.bet | The Web3 Casino You Deserve - Bet directly through your web3 wallet on: May 23, 2023, 03:16:44 PM

Theres not much trust to web3 so far when it comes to this community. I have read enough of them dislikes connecting their metamask anymore to new casinos/app.  Justbet by the way isn't looking good on phone browser which I'm currently using.

@JustBet you really need to update the OP to make it look like an ANN thread, there is not much info in the first post. Before we even read the information of good stuff in JustBet we already read the bad stuff because there is not much to read in OP.
1558  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The last side of Bitcoin I've failed to look into on: May 23, 2023, 02:57:06 PM
As a fan of Ethereum, I've been able to make some ETH through putting my coins to work, but I've not come across putting your Bitcoin to work before.

Is all we can do as a Bitcoin investor is to HODL?

Is there any way to HODL and make more BTC?

I know that Bitcoin is a proof of work coin, but I am only curious if there is something you can do, while planning to hold your Bitcoin for 2 years or more, is there any benefit of holding and making more Bitcoin?

Also, What are those RSK Bitcoin for? Any benefit at all?

You could lend your Bitcoin in return for a certain percentage on return. But then again you would have to trust the person you are lending your Bitcoin to to actually pay you back and on time as well.

So for example say you lend someone 1 BTC for a return of 5% profit after 3 months. So after 3 months you get 1.05 BTC. And the effect of "hodling" will still not have been disturbed. You still hodl, you just actively do something in the meantime.

Lending can go wrong so make sure you have a legally binding document signed by the other party. But, I am not giving you law or financial advice, you can consult a professional for that.

There are numerous users in this forum ho are into lending though. Accounts was used as collateral back in the days which was a win win for those who lend BTC which they could even sell those accounts. Seem a very good business at one point.

Since OP is already liking ETH, he should just do some Defi in Eth since the feature he is looking can't be done in BTC.

1559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have You Experienced Winning Bets By Upsets on: May 23, 2023, 02:46:56 PM
Many people have experience winning this kind of bet, so we have to play for fun as a means of entertainment. Betting on the underdog pays more. Draw conditions also have a number and this is usually a positive sign as draws are common in soccer. Draws are fairly common in football too so there is a bet for that too. But you can see the full list of both teams with different odds listed. As expected, strikers and forwards have the best odds in this category, but if you know that a certain defender or another unpredictable player can hit the back of the net, you can earn a good amount.

Like me who roots for Cyril Gane when he fought against the baddest Ngannou for $10 hoping to win big Smiley I can't tell how many times I did this actually it would sound stupid sometimes that it even occur in my mind to bet for Kevin Holland vs Khamzat all because Khamzat has a bad dude reputation when obviously Kevin is no match.

Draws are also in boxing and combat sports. Bare Knuckle have to extend one round of fight as tie breaker, kind of funny but its how it is.
1560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 22, 2023, 07:05:03 PM
Of all those who left UFC, only Francis got up and made his way up again making Dana look like the bad guy.
Some UFC fighters are just silent about their complaints and just kiss ass like Cormier. While Dana has favorites like Conor who can do just about anything or Suga who can just step right on and get a belt fight.

I'm curious if Francis can bring his UFC belt to the PFL to show off on stage because that will really make Dana crazy.
