Coingrats!  Your journey to financial freedom begins with 10.000 Naira

Back in the days 0.05BTC was something people just bet in one sports match. Now they couldn't afford to spend it for the whole month. They have regrets every time they login to their account and see their betting history.  0.00035334 BTC will also be higher in value when time comes and you will be happy to see the little BTC you got today turns out to be your greatest investment.
542  Economy / Economics / Re: What US can do with its dept? Genuine question. on: October 06, 2023, 07:26:42 PM
The question is moot because this is not the first time in their history that they have a debt. Maybe it looks bigger now to you, but they always had a lot compared to the time they had it, when it was just 1 trillion dollars for the first time ever, that was a lot of money for its time, when it peaked at 10 trillion dollars that was the biggest ever of its time, now they have a new one and they are %100 going to increase the ceiling as soon as both parties get what they want, and they are going to just keep going. Whatever they did with the previous "biggest of its time" before this, they will do exactly the same thing. If we were talking about a nation that wasn't like this before and suddenly became a big indebted nation then we could have considered the answer, but its just going to be "whatever it did so far" and nothing more.

They do have a choice usually they will have 2 on their hands. War or print money.  Usually, An empire will pick the printing of money since ancient times but before it happens there will be war in an attempt to grab resources and riches. Roman Empire, Ottoman Empire, and even the Chinese Empire did the same thing, there was always a war before the empire collapsed.

It seems to be the pattern of this world. One nation rises up as a global leader and then collapses after hundreds of years. The US is no different to them.

Like it or not. Women can be warriors too. For MMA fighters, they love the sport and they take it as their job as well.

Here is the faceoff to the next fight night. I don't get what video Green and Dawson are talking about in their faceoff but they seem to be just smiling.
Speaking of WMMA, the best faceoff in the card is Kowalkiewicz and Diana Belbita https://youtu.be/Lj2uZRMovAg?t=120 Two beautiful smiles having a peace sign like a Korean pop group, awesome!

544  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: October 06, 2023, 05:34:42 PM
Conducting such games carries the hallmarks of cruelty. So not everyone will support such games. It can be administered temporarily in places where it is practiced according to tradition, but it is better not to encourage. But these games are difficult to add to any casino or gambling. As such cruel games are not supportable. It will not be acceptable in law either. So these games are not likely to be added to any casino or gambling platform. There are very few users who have directly enjoyed such games so we can avoid it easily. Horse racing is completely different because there is no chance of harm. It is supportable.
It depends on the country tradition and culture since my country widely support this cruel game because this game is already passed down on many generation.

They are using the argument that chickens is use as livestock which is destined to be killed. Fighting them to a death match doesn’t make any difference than killing them for food. I personally don’t agree with this but you can’t fight the norm when you are just a minority.

As for the game popularity. This can be very addictive watching online games since you won’t get any attachment to the rooster when you are just an spectator online. This game is addictive like an illegal drugs here in our country which burns tons of money from low earnings people.

This game is meant for gamblers who like roosters where locals are raising roosters to fight against the local rooster raisers. It's not meant to be online where the casino can just use AIs to create a match.

Since it involves checking the health of the roosters, it should be done in the city where it's allowed. People in the city just go inside the arena and then bet there like the horse race.
It's not just in Asian countries, by the way, this cockfight also happens in the US behind close doors cockpits.

545  Economy / Economics / Re: What US can do with its dept? Genuine question. on: October 06, 2023, 05:11:43 PM
We all know that US borrowing heavily. There are a lot of information on US debt on the Internet. Just to make it short, I will ask few questions:

What do you think, how this situation will be resolved? What did happen to any other nations who had huge dept in history? Is there any ways offered by economists to resolve the situation?

Other nations who had huge debt in history was that they printed more til people were poor trillionaires.

Biden did have a plan to counter the Belt and Road initiative of China (BRI) but instead of building it in Europe, they should just build it from Alaska and then Canada down to Argentina. Covering the whole continent without having to cross the sea. Maybe they could even extend it to Northpole to Russia which is the new field of gas exploration.
546  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a 20% Annual Return good ? on: October 06, 2023, 04:56:53 PM

Making a profit in USDT staking which is about 7-5% per year was great when the prices didn't inflate yet. These days, you might need a bigger profit, probably more than 20%. So it still depends on your lifestyle or how many mouths you feed.

20% is good depending on how much is your capital and whether it consumes your daily time. And then you have to evaluate whether this strategy works on all occasions because most strategies have flaws especially when it shifts from a bull to a bear market.
547  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lottery with a twist on: October 06, 2023, 04:44:19 PM
Godsake, the 36 users won already yet they still have to be shuffled to lose. You can really assume no one yet made something like this because the emotions of players are going to fluctuate from high and drop to zero. I would certainly avoid playing such game especially if $10 is just one entry. Not sure what others would think but I'm already one that will not join.

From 36 down to?

I believe you misunderstood his example. The prize distribution amount is being distributed in random not the quantity of the user will be countdown. Example some user will receive 500$ and so on randomly. This is both good and bad based on the reward that you will get if you are within the lucky 36 users.   Smiley

Smart contract games is always a good idea for transparency issues. The only problem is it’s not popular anymore since gambler preferred games that can give result instantly and without any fees for placing bets which centralized casino offers.

When we choose the random winners, should it be distributed equally, or we put randomness on the winnings too? What would users prefer?

it should be equal. Random winnings get worse. Nonetheless, I would stay away still. You get lucky the first time and you'll need to be lucky once again on the random selection. Do they need to once again bet $10 to increase their chances in this random selection? Why not, see if the users double down?  There's another idea.

Seeing they have yet done anything means there is no plan in place. But I see this is going to be a decentralized casino?

549  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 06, 2023, 03:37:21 PM

^
Ngannou is no one to the boxing community. If anything, this fight is to be considered by them as an exhibition of retired boxers and there is no real belt.

^ Most probably. Fury disappointed many of his fans because of the decision to fight a none boxer, he prioritized Ngannou instead of Usyk who had been tailing him for a while. Most boxing fans see the fight to be an unnecessary exhibition the fact it's a 10-round fight with no title on the line.  If not for the Arab initiative, this will not happen.

If Ngannou is just willing to make trash talks and the language barrier is not a problem, they may not really need more outside factors to make noise.

I don't think Fury would dodge a champ. He's got Usyk lined up after this bout, so hang tight, man, that time's coming. Fury's just out there living his life, savoring what he's achieved. He's the top dog in the heavyweight division, no doubt. Fury's not scared of anyone; he even took down Wilder when he was the kingpin. So, Usyk better keep an eye out because he's likely next in line, but let's wait for this fight to play out.

Well, WBC has to introduce Ngannou in order to light up their HW while Usyk reigns on WBO, WBA, and IBF. Usyk unified these 3 and it is just WBC is missing, the fans see Fury is not willing to give that up til this recent announcement so his time is ticking. We'll see what will happen. I just have the feeling that he will make an excuse not to fight Usyk later.

Original oil wrestling - not acceptable Cheesy

P.S. warning, dont google for more images of that.

Can't help it, I googled.

Seem like a sign of things to come when kids today continue to learn a hundred more kinds of sex.

Anyway, the card this weekend is still considerably better than nothing to watch. A weekend without UFC just couldn't get better.  No match interests me to bet however but just the main event. Dawson by Submission is like the outcome.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are successful gamblers seen as addicts? on: October 05, 2023, 08:41:36 PM
Yes, in my opinion, if someone can be successful from gambling, most likely he is an addict, because he thinks gambling can make him money

I don't think so. I would say gambling is totally based on luck. Of course you need some skill, but in the end it is impossible to win at gambling without luck.

Winning at gambling does not prove that a person is addicted to it. But if a person is successful in gambling and considers it as a profession then he is addicted. Gambling cannot be a profession. I know many people who have made a lot of money from gambling. But it is not their profession. They gamble for entertainment. But they are rich, so they can take big risks and in the end they are lucky so they can make a lot of money. Just because they win a lot of money, I can't say that they are addicted to it.

We are more accustomed to seeing addicts as losers with a messed up life already though. This is because most addicts are out of control and if you are winning, dressed neatly, and dining in fine restaurants, means you are in control and have a life to live.

Those people with a gambling addiction who continue to win and have a good life with their families must be the luckiest gamblers in the world for if they only knew how the gamblers who lost millions look like when they are already homeless, they best stop already before it happens on them.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will the Gambling Sportybet (Company) Refund the Money? on: October 05, 2023, 07:48:56 PM
Quote
Will the Gambling Sportybet (Company) Refund the Money?
The answer to this question will depend on the terms of service of the betting company and the laws guiding gambling in the country. If the terms of service forbid a gambler from getting back their money after losses, then the young man has no hope of getting back his money except on humanitarian grounds. The company might decide to help him and also use him for public awareness. But the consequences will be that more people will do the same thing and expect refunds.

But if the law of the land mandates the casino company to ensure that underage gamblers are denied access through KYC, then the casino might be held accountable. Since they failed to restrict underage gambling, the young man might receive back part or all of the money he lost. This will be a legal matter that will be determined by the court.

During my secondary school days I gambled, I lost and I also won in between. But you should know, whenever it's gone you can't get it back. Only way to get it, is by winning.
You're simply making this very difficult and and long, the story is boring and ohh GOD! Phew!
The Betting Company will never give a listening ear. If OP is feeling very generous, he can go ahead by giving or providing parts of the fees if not all.

With SportyBet, My highest staking power has got to be 30,000k. The games didn't go as planned and I lost, going back to ask and plead for help from SportyBet? That's fuckrey.

Don't you think this is just SportyBet marketing stunts?
There's another OP's thread about the lady crying after she lost money on this platform. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5469303

These are like patterns to make the casino viral and although we sympathized with these two victims, I'm already feeling like SportyBet is paying the kid and the lady for their posts. Who would want to publicize all this crying unless they are not benefiting? They say people are donating but on their pages on TikTok they never even mention donations.

553  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you believe Technical Analysis? on: October 05, 2023, 07:36:25 PM
Technical Analysis is very important for all trader because it predict entry price and zone price is likely to reverse, infact it give a lot of overall view of the market in term of price situation or condition if trending, consolidating and reversal all these are very important aspect of Technical Analysis, however fundamental Analysis drives the market it's causes the price to move with volatility which is very important for traders to take profit quickly therefore I am of the opinion that a trader who rely solely on Technical Analysis should also pay attention to fundamental news that can make or mar the price movement.

Technical analysis works as long as the manipulator allows it to do so. The manipulator has experts in technical analysis at his disposal, so he is always one step ahead. Therefore, you cannot blindly trust technical analysis. You need to be guided by other tools and also trust your intuition

There is no amount of Technical analysis that will work if the manipulators are the regulators as well. It's the outside factors that indicators can't see that surprise traders with sudden movement of prices.

It's only the halving that guarantees the rise of volume and price of BTC. But even this somehow they are already making some manipulation from the outside like the community who wants bigger block size and the opposite side. And then trying to turn BTC into POS.

555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Lady Cried After Losing to Sports Bet. Gambling is Not Your Mate. on: October 05, 2023, 06:53:37 PM

This is still the Sportybet just like the teen boy who did also beg for his money back.

I am really up to believe this is just a Sportybet marketing. It's quite working on the internet since people are very sympathetic to the kids and ladies. But not sure if this newfound way to market the casino will last. It is okay for the first time but 2-3 times getting this kind of victim crying marketing on camera, it's no moral marketing I say.
556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: October 05, 2023, 03:46:08 PM
It seems the hype surrounding this fight has not subsided but for some reason I just do not think it is as big as it was when it was first announced. There is no disrespect intended to Fury or Ngannou but when it was announced I was eager to watch, I still want to watch the fight when it takes place but that is still another 24 days away.

Anything related to the fight is hardly making rounds in the news either. Maybe the hype in the media will pick up again when there are just a few days before the event.

Maybe because the undercards are not so popular. Only Fury and Ngannou are pretty much known. There are a few like Artin Bakole and Makhmudov but basically, all are HW fights yet but there are also unconfirmed.

Very unpro that they announced Usyk vs. Fury while there's yet an upcoming event for Fury.  The announcement could just be for the purpose of hyping this Fury vs Ngannou fight and there never really is an intention to make it happen. Fury is afraid of Usyk, that is why he accepted to fight Ngannou but he's in for a surprise.
557  Economy / Economics / Re: A big win for crypto again on: October 04, 2023, 07:57:05 PM
Is this really an Economics thread? More like Politics...

This is not a huge win, since McCarthy wasn't against bitcoin. Here's one of the things he had to say about it:
"Senate Democrats are now targeting people who have bought cryptocurrency. They think the tax code should treat the crypto ecosystem the same as it had been treating stockbrokers since 1954. That's not what I'd call 'progressive."

Of course his successor is pro bitcoin and anti SEC, but it's not like we've managed to get rid of Elizabeth Warren, or kick Gensler out of the SEC Wink

The crazy world is what we are living in now. IRS is even going to tax people who profit $600. It used to be $20k, a great leap under.

The change of speaker seems giving crypto holders hope for progress though and I think we may finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. If many lawmakers grilled GEnsler the other day on the hearing, this time there is support from this new speaker. I guess they may be able to grill Gensler on the Senate, if they also do a hearing on the Senate.

Can they fire Gensler thru senate? I think this is what they need for Spot ETF to go through.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you gamble till old age or not on: October 04, 2023, 07:29:31 PM
There's no age for me that would trigger a response. It's like I were to ask you if you'd be still:
-playing computer games
-riding a bicycle
-driving a car
-using bitcoin
-using bitcointalk
-watching movies
-eating fast food

At the age of 40.

I'm past 40 and I'm totally healthy, doing all the things I was doing at 30.
The only thing I'm doing less right now is getting drunk Wink

It's not required to be young to be able to bet. For me, I will still be playing as long as I can, even on my death bed if I still can hold my phone I might just be betting on sports matches.  Grin

But seriously the more you need to enjoy life while you are still young. Learn things and travel more, you don't wanna end up like these guys here who waited for old life before they traveled.

559  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 04, 2023, 05:57:18 PM
^  I think the UFC will go for Jones vs Aspinall after Miocic.  In Aspinall's last post fight interview, he said he was ready to go for the belt now.  As from the interviews prior he was hesitant and kept on saying he needed more time to develop.  And I don't think Jones is staying long in the UFC.  He'll prolly have a couple more fights in the UFC after Miocic then retire.  So yeah I hope the next one is vs Aspinall.  He'll be a great champ if he wins.

I think I'd rather see Pavlovich vs Gane.  Dunno...

Edit:  Just checked the rankings.  It looks like Pavlovich should be next for the title as he's ranked higher.  And it's Aspinall who should be going for Gane.  :/

I think right now, John Jones is the Money fight. So they are going to put him against another fighter who can also generate a good amount of buzz. And I personally think that Aspinall can do that right now. So I personally think that they are going to give him the fight against John Jones. I also agree that John Jones is not going to stay for a long time in the UFC. This time I think he is here for the money. And he is trying to get as much money as he can, actually, I should say, making as much money as he can, while he is still in decent shape.

I don't know if the ranking is going to matter much in this. They are probably going to go with the fight that is going to make them more money.

Aspinall fighting Jones seems a predictable result. Aspinall may like it of course getting a title shot will flatter him but that doesn't mean it's not a mismatch fight.

If Dana really wants a big fight, they should book Jones vs. Ngannou for a cross promotion to make this fight possible. There is nothing more to wait for than this one. HW use to be an exciting class but Dana not making it happen makes the division suck.
560  Economy / Gambling / Re: make some developments related gambling on: October 04, 2023, 05:39:56 PM

Casinos are already regulated that's why we comply with KYC. And the governments today are looking to give each citizen a digital ID, they will need this ID for regulations before they can likely proceed with their plans from consumer protection to tax which I doubt people will subscribe to get a digital ID. The current developments seem not broken so it may stay this way for a long time where users just use browsers even when they are using their phones.
