1561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof - The long Hodl on: November 18, 2020, 11:33:24 AM

~
How many had the forsight to HODL what they had
for the next bull market, which is now?

I would say, not many!

Eventhough we (the positive) have been preaching
about the long haul and a look to the future.

These times are proof that when you buy high, not panic and HODL for the future is rewarding

Certainly not many, lets be honest, anyone in the situation of those who bought at the top of 2017 will definitely have some mixed feelings about what to do, some have sold around 18k, 17k, 16k,..... because it is not easy to watch your investment keep sinking and not knowing when it will recover or if it will ever will, the word 'HODL' is much easier said than done but when you have the courage to do so you will end up smiling at the end (but it is not in every cases)

Sometimes it is not just because you are not positive, it is mostly the fear of the unknown and what people say when the market is crashing that will make one to start having second thoughts, so just as the saying goes, always invest what you can afford to loss.
1562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What made yoi think of investing in bitcoin at the current market? on: November 18, 2020, 11:21:15 AM
Anything below $20k is still good buy if you miss the dip dump at $3200 although you may not be having the type of ROI on investment. It is already 3 years from the ATH and for those that bought and still holding are likely find their relief soon with good profit in 2021. They already understand what patience is and the market cycle. Normal way human take risk is funny, they prefer to FOMO than buy when the price is down. Unfortunately we will only benefit from new victims of FOMO in the next parabolic.

I bet when btc manage to break the ATH of 2017 and above, you will consider anything above 20k as good buy, who knows if eventually all the btc prediction of 40k and above comes true then 20k will seem like a good buy indeed.
at this time panic buyers, fomo and the uncertainty of where btc is going next has set in, may btc is about setting a new reocord and some people already too anxious and don't want to miss out on this.
Those who bought btc during 2017 ATH and still patiently waiting till now will be overjoyed, i bet some of them can't wait to dump and regain their fund back Grin
1563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Money laundering via BTC on: November 18, 2020, 11:12:58 AM
it is possible only if you can avoid doing kyc i.e not register in any centralized exchange, because as you know, centralize exchange requires identity verification and being a money launder you wouldn't want your identity to be exposed,
and why are you asking this question if i may ask! i don't suppose you are thinking towards that line of business, thats a dangerous idea to want to get involve in.
1564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Grayscale keeps buying bitcoin. on: November 16, 2020, 12:58:50 PM
As they say now, keep calm and buy Bitcoin Grin
We should all do the same instead of running around in circles and listen to all the noise.

And as others said, 51% attack is ... something else than OP thinks. Like apples and oranges...
Satoshi clearly didn't mention about crypto-fiat markets manipulation since his vision was to use crypto directly for buying ... everything.

well i guess greyscale can see what we all can't see (the bigger picture) Wink, hence the reason why they are accumulating in large quantity, i think you made a point, we should focus on buying btc at our convenient and capability rather than thinking too much,
i don't know about others, i know btc have surprise me time and again, enough to know that buying and accumulating is never a bad idea because you never know Cool
1565  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your keys, your bitcoin? on: November 16, 2020, 12:48:22 PM
I concur with the assertion "Your keys, your bitcoin". On the off chance that somebody has your private key, he can undoubtedly get into your wallet and take your all coins.
This what befalls me, I composed my private key into my book and one of my companions saw it and duplicate the whole private key.
I stooped composition or offering my private key to anybody after that incident.
You should always care for your key and password. That's the reason why bitcoins are highly risky to manage. Once it's gone it can never me retrieve.

when you say compose, do you mean coping or writing it down on your personal book and someone else saw it? why will you expose a book that contains your private key in such a way that someone else can even see it, to me it means you didn't store it in a place out of preying eyes,
"I stooped composition or offering my private key..." what do you mean by offering your private key! do you give it out to friends to see Grin i can't seem to understand what you mean by that, because if what it says is what you mean, then you only have yourself to blame, you were careless and that could cost you.
1566  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPals Bitcoin is a scam on: November 16, 2020, 12:33:29 PM
1) Revolut does the same thing IIRC, you can't transfer out the bitcoins (either to someone else or a wallet you own) or to pay something with. Does it mean Revolut is a scam too?

2) The person doesn't own the keys, perhaps but it's the same thing with Coinbase for example, so Coinbase is also a scam?

3) Paying someone with bitcoins: if I'm correct on their press release they said it could be used to pay a merchant, so people will be able to pay someone with (the merchant). The fact you can't do it with a random individual is something else.

The definition of a scam isn't what you describe. We are only at the beginning and the service could very well be improved in the future.

Yeah, people like to throw the word "scam" around without any full knowledge of what they say, it is no longer news that PayPal do not support the withdrawal of btc from the wallet, isn't it same thing with exchanges, many people including me have some (if not all ) of their assets in one exchange or the other without owning the keys to the wallet,
Now you mention about revolut, i haven't use them before so i can't say much about what you say, but if that is the case, i don't see people calling them out or tagging them as scam for not letting users to be able to transfer btc to other wallet or withdraw, i believe the thing with PayPal will get better with time, who don't like their service need not use it.
1567  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The last time we saw 16K on Bitcoin price on: November 15, 2020, 06:08:56 PM
Sincerely those altcoins are shitholes from their existence, that which ban-fools me is the Ripple coin. Sometimes 2018 i bought some quantities for my holding before the price dropped and am yet to regain my lost glory with ripple. The regret i had was not buy Chainlink coin becasue the coin wasn't made my choice, i followed the market blindly. Bitcoin is the sure investment for everyone mostly those with the aim of long-term.

If the reverse was the case am sure you will say the same thing about chainlink, a shitcoin because the price is down, am sure base on your interpretation eth is also a shit coin since it has been unable to recover back to its price of 2018,
Maybe perhaps that 2018 price was just an over speculated price, what we are seeing at present is the actual worth of this coins, just something to pounder about.
1568  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bch fork on: November 15, 2020, 05:49:59 PM

I think Bitcoin cash is ready to explode because of that, especially the Bitcoin cash fork on November 15th.
As I remember in the previous forked of Bitcoin Cash, the price actions upward happened after the fork not before.
But this is not financial advice, I may be wrong. That's why it's really difficult to speculate, I am just basing my opinion on the chart.

Now investors are much smarter and different forks cannot lure them into buying coins. The Bitcoin Cash price stands still and does not move at all, it seems to me that no one believes in the price growth and after the fork both coins will be sold.

Yeah unlike the previous fork that use to cause so many panick buy and push the price to a very high level this fork seem to be quiet and no price movement, I guess this is as a result of the uncertainty surrounding the hard fork, investors are afraid and not sure what the outcome will be, people are more wiser in their investment choices.
1569  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH2.0 deposit contract launched - tracking graph on: November 15, 2020, 05:07:22 PM
trend is a bit reversing, since in last three days, more ETH is staked than in three days before that, but it is still below required pace
UNI liquidity reward for ETH pools is due to be finished on November 17 and that could push some more ETH in the Ethereum 2.0 contract, but we are still below 20%, which brings worried faces into Ethereum community

Vitalik Buterin sent 3,200 ETH worth $1.3 million to the contract. It looks like it will be one of the major validators of Ethereum 2.0. It is possible that if the required amount of Ethereum is not collected, Buterin will add the missing coins on the last day before the launch, so that it would not have to be postponed.

What is the required amount to be collected in other for the eth 2.0 to be active? Assuming someone send their eth to the contract address as a validator how long will it be locked for! Very interesting to see Buterin depositing such huge sum to the contract, i think he is as eager as rest of the eth community to finally have the eth 2.0 launch and running.
1570  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you really think crypto stand a chance agaisnt the financial system on: November 15, 2020, 04:54:32 PM
Let's face the truth, it is only in theory that cryptocurrency is a threat to banks/financial system. In reality, the banking/financial system is so big that crypto's threat is not significant at all. Majority of cryptocurrency investors are not really interested in crypto replacing the traditional financial system, they are just interested in it creating enough hype for more people to get in so their investment can skyrocket.
Think of it, if crypto was really a huge threat, don't you think we would have enough regulation by now?? what is you opinion??

Some people want to believe crypto is here to replace the banking institutions but to me I see it as a very hard if not impossible task to accomplished, we aren't talking about an organisation of few years in existence, we are talking about an organisation that is nearly as old as humanity, I like to be realistic, there is very slim chance crypto will get to that level, I know btc is playing such a good role as an alternative payment but there is more to just making payment,
Even if this will happen, certainly not any time soon.
1571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Top 5 EASY WAYS to MAKE MONEY w/ Bitcoin & Cryptocurrencies! on: November 14, 2020, 03:21:04 PM
Thank god you haven't mention those faucets and bounties!  Grin

Faucet definitely no, but bounties why not?  You and I know some bounties are very much worth the effort, especially some of the btc paying campaigns, it all depends on the bounty you have participated in really, still one of the ways (I won't say easiest because doing bounty is not easy because of several reasons) I would suggest to earn btc or some reward.
1572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Seriously Valuable tokens listed on uniswap?.. on: November 14, 2020, 02:46:34 PM
what is the purpose of your writing? very confusing because we don't know the direction of the target. Even though your title is Seriously Valuable tokens listed on uniswap? but its contents help confused who read it

LOL, you are not the only one, reading the content makes the reader to be more confuse, the title seem a bit sensible but the content is mixed up,
Maybe op is asking me if valuable tokens can be listed on uniswap or while project team should list valuable tokens on uniswap,  whatever the question maybe, uniswap is a dex and that gives anyone the privilege to be able to list a token without too much stress like the ones associated with centralize exchange, and people provide liquidity in uniswap to increase volume,
Also even if the price of a token fall after listing on other exchange it is part of the market, it won't stay down for too long, plus the Defi hype is slowly dying down.
1573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Quube Exchange on: November 14, 2020, 02:16:04 PM
Have you ever heard about Quube.Exchange ? this exchange was Quantum security exchange that having token sale on 2019, but until now they didnt have any news regarding token trade or deposit or withdrawls, they do have their announcement on this forum but its been deleted by moderator by unknown reason.

i want to ask if anyone here if you invest on this project what do you think about this project until now?

website : https://quube.exchange/

there is no update at all on twitter, last tweet was made on july

Actually I have, that was because of the bounty they had on the forum months back, I only briefly read through about the project but didn't pick interest to follow up or participate in the bounty, I guess this is why my interest was not there, the project was not very convincing,
Am surprise till now they have no information about their token sale or estimated time when that will most likely happen, maybe you should look at their social media if they are still active otherwise I think they are already dead on arrival.
1574  Other / Archival / Re: Pay for Your Passport with Bitcoin on: November 14, 2020, 08:52:33 AM
People are beginning to realize the importance of digital payment which is way better and more convenient than fiat, the convenience of paying with digital payment can not be over emphasize, within seconds your transaction have been confirmed, no too much hustle, between btc is getting popular on a daily basis, we can't deny it but PayPal news still plays a role in this, and as I have always say, more will keep coming because they wouldn't want to be left out of this new trend.
1575  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Places in South Africa That Accept Crypto Payments on: November 13, 2020, 02:28:00 PM
Very cool places that accepts btc, am impressed to see that, especial the Bukhara restaurant and the modlito game reserve seem like they will have much customers patronizing them and that can be good for btc awareness as well, i think in near future more stores will open to accepting digital currency as an alternative payment option, although i haven't been  to South Africa before but if i ever do, i would definitely want to check the modlito game reserve out, sounds like fun already.
1576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Great news for XRP coin holders? on: November 13, 2020, 02:01:23 PM
i don't even see any information regarding the spark tokens that will be airdropped to xrp holders, the warning says the token is not out yet and thats it, i wonder why the @op see this as a great news, or he just want to create some hype around xrp to get people buying and thinking some worthy airdrop is coming their way.
1577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: YOUC a good example of project recovering from dump because of it's potential on: November 13, 2020, 01:05:26 PM
61.5% is a huge pump. Lucky for those who were too late to dump their tokens now they can give a thumbs up to Mcafee lol Price is still not substantial for months of work.

If I still have them right now, I might just sell it before the correction takes place, maybe buy back when it dips again if you really believe the project will succeed.

Lol, a friend of mine dump too quickly thinking the price won't come up to the previous price so soon which is very common with many project, once the price dump so hard it will take a good amount of time for the price to be back up and close to the initial price, but unfortunately for my friend YOUC pulled a fast one and surprise all the early dumpers by getting back up as soon as possible,
this is the time to do the needful  Wink
1578  Economy / Speculation / Re: What's the next Bitcoin´s NEW 2020 HIGH? on: November 13, 2020, 12:05:58 PM
I believe Bitcoin will be close to $20K by the end of this year. Because of several reasons like PayPal announcement about crypto services Bitcoin and crpto at all have an opportunity to reach new highs.
The news about paypal that supports crypto has passed, unless there is news of or greater than yesterday's paypal maybe the price could reach $ 20K by the end of this year

Who said PayPal news have passed and no longer effective! you have to understand that it is not just about the news but the number of people that news will bring in and continue to bring in, the news itself was one thing and after effect of the news is another thing, that is what am sure is happening right now, PayPal have millions of users and if that number of users all show interest on btc what do you think will happen to price?
1579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT]✅ P2P Cash | The new way of send money worldwide✅ on: November 12, 2020, 11:13:49 AM

Count down has 3 days and some hours to go before the exchange goes live, now it is becoming a common practice in crypto that most project hardly keep to their time, there will always be one reason for a delay and time will be adjusted, i hope the p2p team won't disappoint like i have seen in many other project, if the launch of the exchange is successful it will be a game changer for the p2p tokens,
i noticed many investors already dumped their tokens to crash the price alot, lets hope this can bring an effect to price increase.

Yesterday was an important day for the Akion project and Akion supporters and investors too, Akion got listed on bittrex global with 2 pairs, btc and usdt, there was no ieo for akn so it was a direct listing, currently trading at $0.15, so far since launch i noticed the price is just stable on $0.15, i was hoping to see a spike since only Akoin has the token and there are more interested investors base on the activities on their official telegram group.
