561  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price goes down as Russia begins Ukraine invasion on: February 24, 2022, 09:56:20 AM
I think people should stop speculating about a possible world war lll when they are not sure what will happen, right now it is unclear the direction this political conflict will go. However, it is indirectly affecting the market because of fear of what people are reading from the Internet, there are already different versions of this conflict making people panic. People should be calm.
562  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be banned in the EU starting from 2025 if ... on: February 24, 2022, 03:30:34 AM
Just read this report:

EU on Track to Ban Bitcoin: Report
'Bitcoin will be banned in the EU starting from 2025 if the Commission and the Council of the EU don’t ditch a crippling amendment to the MiCA framework'

source: https://u.today/eu-on-track-to-ban-bitcoin-report

I don't know what they want, but I wanted you to know this ...

They feel btc not environmentally friendly so they will probably ban it in 2025 if no better option is provided.  The target is to ban btc and other proof of work crypto out there. According to the article, soon "businesses would be prohibited from offering any services associated with proof-of-work cryptocurrencies".
Although they are yet to conclude, it seems they are pretty determined. I just hope they don't reach that conclusion to ban.

i was using Storage X wallet and someone from them only done this hacking i lost 6000 USD 6 months ago

Mate, why are you using that wallet in the first place? I've been active in the bitcoin/cryptocurrency space for 5 years now and I've never heard of this wallet.

This-should-be-very-obvious-tip: always use reputable wallet software. The same reason why you probably wouldn't store your money on some bank that no one has ever heard of.

Hacker probably use mixers which make this job very complex to solve.
Have you read this chainanalysis report: DeFi Takes on Bigger Role in Money Laundering But Small Group of Centralized Services Still Dominate

Decentralized exchanges are more used for it recently, like all those ethereum based decentralized exchanges

Uh.. misquoted?

@Mk4 is right, some people just use any wallet they come across to store their assets, maybe they are not aware of using wallets with good reviews from users and something other people are familiar with, it will go to some extent to minimize loss because you are able to read the experience of other users.
It doesn't sound like the customer service of this wallet provider is active otherwise 6 months and still no good reply. Too bad.
564  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin evangelist Michael Saylor says crypto regulations would speed adoption on: February 23, 2022, 09:23:02 AM
...According to yahoo news of February 18th, president Joe Biden is expected to issue and execute order that will require government agencies to study cryptocurrencies and cbdc afterward develop a statewide strategy to regulate digital currency".
Such a bold step on the part of the US president, it's about time they pay attention to digital currency and recognize it's importance in any country's economy,  and I kinda wonder though, if the El-Salvador stand on btc has some kind of influence on this proposal, I mean El-Salvador really display a strong determination in the face of pressure from a powerful organization like the IMF.

So it is just a matter of time before a complete crypto regulation begins worldwide. My belief is, once the United State start the regulation process many other countries will follow.

It is very possible this will happen, at the most majority of the 3rd world countries will change views and come up with their own regulation methods, I can tell this no longer far away.
565  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Summary of My Bitcoin Journey So Far on: February 22, 2022, 07:58:21 AM
I don't know how OP did it but I found discrepancies in authorship of the articles he alleged to have written. Different names for the related articles. I don't know if I miss something there or that I'm just being doubtful that something isn't right? A click on those links will present authors with different names, yet OP claimed they wrote all? Look at the different names – The first article was written by Jofor Humani. The second by Jordan Lyanchev and then a third by Jofor Humani, then Cyberczar, Jinka Kamma. How then can one be sure OP is saying the truth?

"He wrote for different sites" i guess @op was paid to write for these authors, this sites are not directly his but some of the work he has done for others, because clearly there are like 3-4 different authors from the links.

I was hired by a few people and earned hundreds of dollars.
566  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The Sandbox will likely recover? on: February 22, 2022, 07:45:32 AM
Don't just hold stake if you can, find out in their official telegram group to know more about their staking program, this will help you accumulate more sand while the market recover, selling in my opinion is not a good option at this point, the whole market is affected and almost all investors are in the same situation as you. The market will recover but it will take some time.
567  Other / Archival / Re: Why you shouldn't invest in NFT tokens on: February 22, 2022, 07:31:53 AM
It is difficult to tag the entire project in the nft space scam or a waste of investment because of the hacks or scams involved, otherwise we would use the same logic to view the entire crypto space. just like the ico days, the defi's now we have nft's, we have equally heard several hacks, exit scams or rug pull during ico's, same thing happening in defi, in fact, till now we are still experiencing many defi hack, same as non defi projects, now nft is the latest trend with lots of hype and it is very natural to see scammers and hackers trying to take advantage of this new trend.

if we talk about wash trading, then we should look at where it all started even before nft came into the picture, many exchanges where accuse of wash trading and that was not because of nft, open sea is a platform like any other who has suffered in the hands of hackers whether trading on nft or not, am just trying to be objective.
568  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banning Bitcoin is Like Banning the Internet, Says Russia’s Finance Minister on: February 22, 2022, 07:13:39 AM
Couldn't agree more, it is highly ridiculous to think of banning btc, the federal government should stop thinking about banning and and look for better ways to incorporate it into the economy, after several failed attempt it is pointless to keep trying, we are in the digital era where many things are done digitally, technological advancement is taking over and btc is part of that advancement.
569  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A peculiar Response to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on: February 22, 2022, 03:19:04 AM
I am not aware of the US sanctioning any bitcoin addresses. Do you have a link to this happening?
Bro you've missed one of the biggest jokes of our time if you've missed this Cheesy
Here is a link to U.S. DEPARTMENT OF THE TREASURY containing a bunch of bitcoin (and some altcoin) addresses that are under US "sanctions": https://home.treasury.gov/policy-issues/financial-sanctions/recent-actions/20211108
It gets even funnier if you check some of these addresses that are either empty or had a tiny amount of bitcoin in them.

Have they found anything incriminating in those wallets address under investigation or they just love to exercise their judicial rights on btc holders regardless if they actually committed a crime or not,
It is one thing to sanction any wallet address found wanting and another to go pressuring any address btc on it,
I think it was because of the way they go about with the wallet address sanctions thar the Nonchuk team gave such statement at the end of the letter, (although not very professional but deserving) Cheesy
570  Economy / Economics / Re: US Government! You are Welcome to the Bitcoin Age. on: February 20, 2022, 02:06:12 PM
What I understand from the above article is US is doing what any other country shall be doing to clean the mess from their land. It’s very simple they are just working on their different agenda so that crypto currencies do not become weed in the coming days. What I mean by this is real simple: they want the crypto to survive but they just want it more regularised, more under control rather than too free for criminals, robbers etc.

I don’t think they gonna go very hard on the crypto as the time will pass on. It’s just about the time period when crypto gonna go bloom in the USA. It’s IT hub, the least we could expect from them.

The way things are already going, if strict measures are not put in place could be very dangerous, people will pay a high price for that, the government as the sole protector of Its citizens must take the necessary decisions required,
Many scams already taking advantage of decentralization and free to everyone to carry out crimes, if the government doesn't carry out its executive responsibilities now in a few years things will really get ugly in this space.
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: February 20, 2022, 01:42:19 PM
I think gold token desperately needs to be on cheaper chains, ethereum fees are horrendous. One can always move back to ethereum if they want through cheaper chain without suffering from fees but opposite is not possible without paying $50-$100.
Most likely on polygon network since its a layer2 solution and compatible in eth, but maybe they are concerned in security issues when shifting in another chain, Polygon network have a recent incident about hacking almost 800k matic last year.  (https://thecryptobasic.com/2021/12/30/polygon-admits-the-network-was-hacked-hacker-swiped-801601-matic-tokens/).

And a little congestion just mess the network up, lately, polygon has been very difficult to transact with, getting confirmation in your transaction will stay pending, speeding up the transaction doesn't help things in most cases,
If they are supporting another chain is a good idea, but most of them also have issues,  eth is facing constant high fees, bsc much better, polygon really needs to get it together.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your luck rate with CMC airdrops on: February 20, 2022, 01:28:06 PM
I just find out that it's not easy to win going coinomi airdrops, I've participated in 10 different airdrops and never get paid at all so when I rechecked I always see like only 1000 people selected out of 300k or more, why airdrop in the first place when only few people will be selected ?

A well calculated exploitation from some greedy teams, it is a complete waste of time to participate in those so-called airdrops these days,
The worst part is - all the participants are required to carry out some social media task, imagine if half of 300k actually did the task and then just only 1000k got selected then the rest participants must have carried out the task for free without getting anything in return.
Out of every 10 airdrops, only 2 can be considered worth the time and effort, the rest of them are a waste of time.
573  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to detect scam token on Binance Smart Chain on: February 20, 2022, 01:09:57 PM
I really have to disagree to some extent with 1&2 -
1. Bogus total supply
2. Large airdrop amount

There are several projects with a huge total supply like tron for example, can't use supply as guaranteed yardstick,
Also large airdrop amount, there are projects that mainly airdrop their tokens to dedicated community members and never did any sales, just a community driven project, that's also not enough to term such project as a scam.
I think, these days it is very difficult to attribute certain characteristics to determine a scam project because these scammers are getting better daily and they go the extra length to try and fool investors.
Since they know people are constantly looking out for these signs, they keep changing and updating their cruel methods.
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A painful loss on: February 19, 2022, 05:44:20 PM
Sad story mate, and I'm sorry for you, from your experience we can also learn here, thankyou.
Yeah that's why I don't like the new meme-based coins that are hype at the moment. I'd rather be patient in holding large coins with little profit than investing in companies like the OP mentioned above, its too risky because obviously we don't know their credibility.

The truth is scammers are getting good on their game of scamming people, a look at the website the @op present will wow any new and old investor into thinking the project is legit, they spend money designing the website and making it look worthy of a top project, unfortunately it was all a big scam, reason why it is important to keep learning and understanding the signs to look out for in a project to determine if it is authentic or just a well design scam project, it is always devastating to invest in a project that end up rug pull on the investors, another reason why it is advisable not to put all you have in one project especially new ones with no credibility.
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Avalanche just overtook Binance Coin in Total Value Locked (TVL) on: February 19, 2022, 05:20:48 PM
I think that Binance is at a point where it is in need of re-inventing itself. This is needed because while it was at the peak and the leader at some point Binance is losing market share to competitors and new kids on the block.  At one point Polo was at the top and when new players entered, look where it is now. At one point Binance was clearly at the top due to things like its low tx fees among several others. Most of those first to market and clear advantages are now diluted in a more crowded market. There are a few things that are pointing to this and the effort Binance is doing to stay relevant. (1) Binance invested $200m in Forbes and (2) Binance converging their "chains" so to speak into a new ecosystem bnbchain.world. If the competitors keep inventing and Binance do not do something about it, more stats will pass them and they will become a Polo in a year's time.

It is not a new ecosystem per say, it is just rebranding and making bnb center focus, in bsc or binance chain it was the same bnb that is use for transaction fees, so the new brand will now be bnb beacon chain and bnb smart chain and bnb will no longer be seen as just an exchange coin but will have a whole ecosystem under it, according to binance statement "bnb chain will provide several features for users including being open, multi-chain, permissionless and forever decentralized, it will also embrace large-scale applications, including Gamefi, Socialfi and metaverse." i see it as a good way of strengthening the bnb coin and make it more decentralized.
Besides i don't see any exchange that has come close to binance in terms of achievement and advancement, do you know how many local currency bianance currently support and at what cost, cz is a real business man, if he invested such amount on forbes it is because he knows what he can possibly gain out of it,
Not only that, "the Association of Banks of Russia have accepted binance membership into the association to further strengthen relationship in the cryptocurrency industry". Binance always take things to the next level.
I don't know what polo and bittrex did to go down the ladder but i doubt binance will ever end up like them.
576  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: potential moonshots on: February 19, 2022, 04:23:47 PM
Small projects will usually yield high returns, even though the risks are unpredictable. I usually prefer trending memes for that, and taking immediate advantage of the first hype, meme coins are cheap coins that move very fast.

Small good project, not just any shit project with no clear goal, instead of yielding high returns you will end up losing a lot, actually some projects already look suspicious enough for anyone to quickly tell the amount of risk involved, the problem is, even when all the signs are there some people still prefer not to take note, they want to gamble with their investment to that they will have the opportunity to point fingers. i hope you always get lucky with your strategy.
577  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador positions itself as the first Bitcoin city at Expo2020 in Dubai on: February 19, 2022, 08:39:26 AM
Simply put, El-Salvador are unstoppable on their quest to make btc the number one currency in the country, if they didn't back down to imf threats i don't think they will for anything else, just the mare display of not being weak is something commendable, i think the president already made it clear enough to the whole world their stand in digital currency, i have nothing but respect for El-Salvador especially president bukele, Bitcoin City is already making history.
578  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ukraine Just Legalized Bitcoin on: February 18, 2022, 11:25:58 AM
I don't see anything surprising in this news. Legalization of Bitcoin allows developing countries like Ukraine to receive additional taxes. I am 100% sure that from vendoring or trading, local residents will be required to pay taxes. It is for this and only for this that all this is started.

And developed countries will legalize it without additional tax.... Smiley
you are required to pay tax anyways whether you trade on btc or not.

The fact that Bitcoin was not legalized as a payment method doesn't surprise me either. I'm 100% sure that no country in the world will agree to this. Why? Because Bitcoin is not controlled by any state and doesn't allow controlling financial flows, which, as you know, any government strives for.

if you don't want government control then don't dream of adoption, if government is in control of political, economic and social aspect of a country, shoulder the responsibility of protecting its citizens from internal and external treats, then expect them to do same in this regard, it may not surprise you, but it surprises me that countries find it important to legalize btc even when many people never thought it will happen 10 years back.
579  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Era of Launchpads on: February 18, 2022, 09:34:53 AM
This must be new, i have some couple of them i put on my list both for ido and igo and so far polkastarter seem to be the best for ido and seedify seem to be the best for igo in my opinion. i dont know anything about AdLunam yet, i will probably take a look to see what they have to offer, launchpads are more efficient way to participate in ido and igo this days more than haunting down this project and trying to research about them, the launchpad team already has that responsibility to fully vet these projects before sale.
580  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A painful loss on: February 18, 2022, 09:21:16 AM
imo it is much safer to invest through some of the known launchpad we have in the space this days, reason why is most of the vetting of this new project are already being done by the launchpad you decided to use, so you can a little bit be assured you are not walking into a straight scam, the only down side of this launchpad is you must hold their tokens and be in a tier to participate, still way better than taking unnecessary risk. i hope you will recover your loss from another reputable project soon.
