161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Really Burn helps Token in positive way? on: August 04, 2023, 02:18:19 PM
~
In theory, that means making the supply less, and when the supply is low but the demand is high, the price of that token will be worth more. But for a token or coin to increase in price, there are many factors, it will not depend solely on the burning of coins.
The theory is right but the problem with these projects is that, burning is just a gimmick to convince the investors, the fact is they generate billions of coins in circulation and once the price reach a certain valuation with the help of market manipulation and pump people would jump in and once the market sees a correction they would advertise that they are burning the token to maintain the hype and that might not help the token if the overall market sentiments are not in their favor.

I doubt that a victory will sway the people's view in how he got defeated against Tommy Fury, a true boxer, and not just some random UFC star that wanted to have another money by making some rubbish fight in a ring where they don't have any expertise on it.
The fight against Tommy Fury, it was not a one sided slugfest either, it was a split decision and the referee made some stupid decisions as well during the fight and Jake Paul was able to score a knockdown but Tommy Fury landed more punches and hence a fair outcome.

The face off between Jake Paul and Nate Diaz just happened and the funny thing is that there was a brawl between the security guards  Cheesy.

I am certainly hoping to see some good upset matches being made in this World Cup. remember when the last time a lot of teams competed in the World Cup? It was the 2007 ODI World Cup. And a lot of things that are really weak in power were actually able to beat some very powerful teams in the World Cup. So I am expecting something like that to happen in this World Cup as well. I am not saying every match is going to be competitive.
There is a flip side to the 2007 ODI World Cup, it was one of the most boring World Cup in history and a long one, yes there were upsets and the ICC banned music and they did their best to kill the joy and Pakistan's coach died of mysterious situation and it was really un uneventful tournament .

~
There are a lot of cricket fans in the United States, but hardly anyone among them support the US national team. All of them are supporters of India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, West Indies.etc. The market is there, but it is useless to assume that including the US team in ICC competitions would make a difference.
Majority of the fans in the stadium's might be Asian's but there are people from Europe and US that are new to the sport and interested in watching the matches, even during the recent FIFA World Cup there were a lot of new fans from the US travelling to Saudi to watch the match, so we can expect some of the fans turning up when the tournament is conducted in the US.

Now with the recent events that have taken place, we all can see the bull rising off the dusts, we can almost tell it's about to happen again, maybe by next year or two.  Huh

I would love to know you all's predictions for the next bull. I'm thinking anywhere around $100,000? May looking at how far the previous bull runs were able to reach, I think that would be a good price to place it 😊👍, but I'm still open to whatever wild opinions you all may have. Roll Eyes
There is no point in listening to random predictions who claim that the price of BTCitcoin would reach half a million dollars, there might be a point in time where it might reach those valuations but you cannot expect that to happen in a short period of time.

It is hard to predict how the market will react even after the next halving, the overall market condition should be favorable as well to see a promising rally, we all know that the recession is looming and it will be affecting many countries and that might have an impact as well.

Broad retired and Ali followed him too. Weird thing is that Anderson still hasn't retired which isn't smart at all considering the fact that he might not be selected for Ashes 2025 in my opinion.
He might be looking to pick his 700th wicket and then announce the retirement or may be James Anderson is looking to hold any modern record to become the oldest player to play International match  Cheesy.

All teams should adopt the epic Bazball approach in order to make tests way more interesting since England has proven that it's an effective strategy.
There is no doubt that BazBall is interesting but not every country will be able to follow the same path and expect to be successful. Now a days most of the Test matches are having results unlike a decade ago.

Despite that Sanju would be lucky if he makes it into the WC squad because there are too many WK batters. Kishan seems to be doing okay and if KL Rahul is fit then he will easily walk in the team as a middle order WK batter. His T-20/Test form is gone for good but he performed fairly well in ODI (middle order).
I would like to see Sanju Samson getting more opportunities and if he is able to continue performing consistently he should get a spot in the team. Ishan Kishan got the opportunity to play all the matches in this series and he scored half centuries in each of the ODI and if he continue like this his spot will be fixed and Sanju can be the back up player in the World Cup squad.

England's two openers managed to get off to a good start. But the subsequent batsmen are not able to maintain consistency. ~
Looks like you mistyped, you mentioned about the India's match that is ongoing and not England's  Wink.

After some terrible batting performance from India, they looked set for a huge total in the series decider. The openers gave a century run partnership and Shubman Gill is still in the crease and looks like he is going to score another century and Sanju Samson is playing with full freedom as he smacked 3 sixes in his short innings and hopefully he will go on to score a big one.

Secondly, the World Cup is being played in the USA. So making the World Cup more competitive and one of the biggest is certainly going to bring in a good amount of money.
You cannot expect a competitive World Cup with 20 teams who does not have the skill level anywhere near to compete against the top 5 teams. The venue is US and the only country that does not have a fan base for Football and Cricket and may be ICC is trying their best to tap that part of the market. There is a newfound interest in Football and Cricket among the general public in US after lockdown as many popular social media influencers from US started posting about the sport and reviewing the videos.

Stuart Broad announced his retirement from all forms of Cricket after this final test. He hit a six at the end in style. I don't like his personality one bit, but I will miss his bowling in tests.
Stuart Broad is one of the best bowler England produced and for a fast bowler to take 600 wickets in Test Cricket is not that easy. I always felt that he never got the recognition and respect for a bowler who has 600 wickets.

I thought England will win the match after posting a decent total, but looks like Australia will be chasing the total as they already have a 100 run opening partnership and with plenty of time left in the match they need 284 more run to win the match.

What do you think of Pereira's split decision win over Blachowicz? There were some disappointed people that says Jan was robbed but I didn't think that was the case. The third round was clearly the decider and I thought Alex dominated that in striking while Jan's takedown came in a little too late imo.
It was a really boring fight and both the fighters gassed out because the fight is taking place at a higher altitude which will drain the fighters pretty fast if they are not prepared. If Jan Błachowicz was able to take down Alex Pereira earlier in the third round then he would have won the fight, even when he got him down in the third round he did not do any damage, he was resting on top of him Cheesy.

Seems like these UFC events are starting to get pretty massive.
Yes, UFC is owned by Endeavor and they have Movie stars, singers, sports personalities in their pay roll and it is not that hard for them to bring in any start they want to make the event more colorful.

After 3 straight loss, Derrick Lewis surprised with a flying knee at the bell and finished the fight as soon as it started. This is his last fight in his UFC contract and hope he will continue with them.

Justin Gaethje knocked the lights off Dustin Poirier, it was the same kind of knockout Leon Edwards was able to pull against Kamaru Usman.

England is again back into the match and they played a much better innings in their second innings where their entire batting line up contributed to the score except Harry Brook and from conceding a lead in the first innings, now they are on the process of setting Australia a target of around 400 runs which is an impossible task for them to defend for the next two days and i really doubt whether they will be able to chase them down.
172  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is AI in crypto a game-changer or just another hype? on: July 29, 2023, 07:27:28 PM
~
In the current crypto landscape, we're witnessing an influx of AI-powered projects. However, it's crucial to remain skeptical as many of these projects lack solid evidence to support their claims of being AI-driven. It appears that some are merely trying to create hype to sell their tokens without substantial technological backing.
This is certainly another hype so that they can create new projects raise money and then disappear like we usually see in the past, like smart contracts, NFT, Meme, Web3 and so on, was curious which path the altcoin market would move forward without any hype and tending words to attract new users and promising a fortune Cheesy.

But AI in itself is a game changer but the N number of projects that will prop up in the name of AI are there to take advantage of the unsuspecting investors.

There might be one or two projects that will be good, but majority will be a farce.

After India set such a low run target, I think India have more chances to win the match, because India's bowling line-up is better than West Indies' bowling. But if the West Indies batsmen can build a great partnership then it will be possible to win the match.
Not having that much expectation that India would win again in a low scoring match, West Indies does tend to struggle against Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja but if they are able to overcome that shortcoming by going full defensive on them and then take the attack the rest of the bowlers, they could win the match as they only need 182 runs to win the match in 50 overs.
174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ADVICE]Boy Wins $46k from Sports Bet but Can't Tell Strict Religious Parents... on: July 29, 2023, 03:49:24 PM
~
Someone recently won $46,606 from making a correct prediction on one of the matches in the on-going 2023 FIFA Women World Cup competition from his wager of $10 on a sports betting website. The person is unemployed and within the ages of 20 - 23. He lives with his parents who are strict religious people that frown on gambling and other youthful vices.
What kind of bet would give you a whooping $46,606 from a $10 bet on a Women's World Cup match. He needs to parlay a odds worth of 4,660x in order to win that amount and still the group stage matches are ongoing and only the Philippines win over New Zealand can be seen as an upset as of the matches conducted in this World Cup.

Looks like a propaganda fake story of vice and virtue spreading during Women's World Cup  Cheesy.

There is another possibility they as in the BCCI are experimenting with the batting order. Regardless of what they are trying who in the team management thought of a fierce opner with many records to bat at the lowest  order. This is really shit management.
This series is a training session for the entire team in preparation for the World Cup and hence they can experiment as much as they want and the total they need to chase was not that huge either. So everyone does get the opportunity and build their confidence moving forward and perform so that they can book a place in the team for the World Cup, if not there is a strong bench of players that would happily replace them.

I thought that English would actually be able to get 40-50 run lead but Murphy actually played really well towards the end to beat all the lead now I think this match is again very even. England will have to score 300 atleast to make this match invincible.
When England were reduced to 283 runs, i thought Australia would get a good first innings lead and run away with the match but England bowled well and only Usman Khawaja and Steven Smith showed any resistance and scored runs and then the tail end players helped Australia in gaining a slight lead and the match is wide open after two innings in two days Cheesy.
177  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Twitter Stock Experience the same Rise? on: July 28, 2023, 04:28:02 PM
~
I don't see the price of twitter stock increasing any time soon unless Elon passes the ownership over to someone more capable than him, and someone who really knows how to run a social media business more than charging people 8 bucks so they could enjoy the full experience that they were able to anyway before he came in.
Spoiler alert, Twitter is not listed in stock exchanges anymore once Elon Musk purchased them for $44 Billion and now it is a private company. It was a blunder to spend this much money to purchase Twitter and he has to find ways to recover the amount and with the advertisers moving away it was his idea to charge for a blue tick with some extra perks.
178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tyson Fury vs Francis Ngannou Boxing October 28 on: July 27, 2023, 09:23:11 PM

Another concern is that Ngannou is used to boxing gloves, he is more use to grapplers glove it is way lighter than what is used in boxing. This will consumed way more stamina than the once gloves Ngannou used.  I also think that Ngannou may have the chance on the early round but once it goes the distance, we will see how Fury dominates him.
Francis Ngannou started out as a Boxer but he never competed instead took the MMA route as it was fairly new and it was easier to get recognition and money and the glove size is not at all an issue, once you wear them you will understand the difference.

Surprised that many think that Francis Ngannou have a chance in the early rounds against the best Heavyweight boxer of this generation and arguably could be listed among the greatest Boxers ever  Cheesy.

England's Bazball approach is something else. Harry Brook is playing like a monster and transformed this game from a test to a T-20 match. All teams need to adopt his approach asap in tests since it's so damn entertaining.
There is no denying the fact that Bazball approach to Test cricket is really entertaining for the viewers but at the end of the days play England only managed to score 283 runs which will hurt in this match. With the way England made a comeback after loosing the first two matches, wanted to see England leveling the series but now Australia has the advantage and if they are able to build a good first innings lead, the match is over for England.

The ODI format isn't dying. The supporters and spectators of the West Indies cricket team have no more expectations from them. West Indies showed pathetic performance today, but India couldn't get an easy victory there for changing the batting lineup. India lost 5 wickets while they were chasing the small target of 115 runs.
You can literally say that ODI format is not that interesting now a days because T20 is providing more interesting matches and ODI looks like a stretch. There was a time when i used to watch every ball of an ODI match but now a days i rarely watch the matches and age might be a factor but with the abundance of T20 and the excitement you get from the shorter format, i used to get that rush in ODI two decades back but not anymore and people are living in a faster world and they are not having the time to spend 9 hours a match.
