161  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and the fall of Twitter on: March 31, 2023, 07:09:36 AM
What is your concern?

Nothing bad gonna happen to Twitter. There are still some ads and a lot of people use them. There are a lot of users who came back to the platform because of Elon so the audience is getting bigger and people are interested in Twitter.

I think they will just find a new way to monetize Twitter. Considering how many people are using Twitter every day and creating content on this platform, I don't think it's gonna be a problem.
162  Economy / Economics / Re: Money hardly come this days! Why? on: March 29, 2023, 11:21:09 PM
It's all because of the economic crisis. Inflation rates are bad so FED is rising interest rates.
By that, they are destroying the economy and lower inflation by making money expensive. Plus a lot of people lose their jobs because of that so they are getting poorer too.

But in general, there are a lot of things wrong with the world right now. Because of the covid, war, and inflation in the US, the economy suffers worldwide.
163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin mixing is NOT money laundering, per se on: March 29, 2023, 08:05:59 AM
I agree, it's not. But it can be used as a money laundering tool and an effective one.
I think that if we want to see mass adoption of bitcoin, we should admit that some people can use bitcoin as ML and TF. We should somehow try to lower the possibility of these actions because, without that, the government will never fully adopt bitcoin and will be antagonizing it.

That's why I think that dislike of the mixing services is understandable.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Public Perspective towards Bitcoin on: March 28, 2023, 02:53:42 AM
I think the public WILL start loving bitcoin more in the next few years. Bitcoin has nothing bad about it and the biggest con of it is that you can lose a lot of money if you will trade it.

A lot of people have a biased view of bitcoin because they don't know what is it and how it works. But when they will start learning it, they will realize that it's good for out world and society.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Mainstream payment method on: March 26, 2023, 11:19:26 PM
Personally, I don't think it's gonna become a mainstream payment method. People will still be using fiat because you don't need to pay for every transaction when you use it and it's less volatile.

But despite that, it's obvious that payments with bitcoins are getting popular nowadays and a lot of people want anonymity or don't trust banks with their money. But I don't think everyone will be like this in the future.

So I think bitcoin will just become another method to transfer/hold/withdraw and invest money. It would be somewhere in the middle of all those things.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which kind of situation will force you to sell? on: March 26, 2023, 01:49:57 AM
Everyone treats bitcoin differently so they have different baselines for that.
I think the only reason to sell BTC for people who are into crypto because of the tech is when they need money ASAP and it's a question of life and death, but some people will do it just because they achieved their investment goals.

167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin can't become world currency (at least now). on: March 26, 2023, 01:45:50 AM
Hello crypto bros!

Personally, I think that bitcoin won't become a new world currency like USD or EURO, but I think it would be widely accepted and used. But looking at some projects like El Salvador I just keep wondering, are there gonna be countries that will try making bitcoin their official currency and make all transactions using it?
Do you think there gonna be any consequences for that?

Why I think it's highly unlikely:
I think one of the problems is that it will be more expensive for people to use bitcoin than fiat. We can also say that it will create a huge load on the bitcoin network to make all these transactions so it will probably be even more expensive and slower because of that. Also worth mentioning that bitcoin is still pretty volatile and I don't see it becoming more stable in the future. And the whole system will depend on the miners and if there gonna be any problem with them, then the system will suffer. And another thing is that when people will see how volatile bitcoin is, they will try to exchange it to more stable asset that will dump the price of BTC as well.

So as a result, I think that bitcoin will probably stay as an asset and anonymous money. And it's not a bad thing, we need this kind of technology to exist.
168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: March 25, 2023, 01:03:04 AM
First of all, the person you mentioned is Laszlo, he didn't spend 30+ for a pizza, but 10,000 for 2 pizzas. And the second is, you create a topic, you ask and you've answered it in the same place. If you don't want to pay for something with Bitcoin (BTC) because you don't want to be unlucky like Laszlo who doesn't realize the real value of Bitcoin, well, like you said, use stablecoins. So why else ask about it?

Yeah sorry, I forgot that he spent THAT much. I asked because the problem is mostly psychological. Because when you think about it, spending bitcoin is the SAME as spending stables because you paying the SAME price. But still, for me, it's psychologically harder to spend bitcoins.

...
I have to admit that when I pay with Bitcoin, I get a little nervous too. Bitcoin is a means of payment, but for me it's more of a store of value. If we look at past price movements historically, we can see how great it has performed, and we can have some ideas of what it might do in the future.

Right?? I have the same feeling. I know that there is no difference if you pay with BTC or stables because you spend the same amount of money, but when you have HODL psychology it feels wrong.

Like we all thought that we need to HODL out bitcoins and buy them, use DCA and stuff, but when it comes to spending we already got used to the idea that selling/spending bitcoin is somehow bad.

I think the biggest problem is that we still treat it like an asset, not like money.

169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: March 24, 2023, 04:36:42 AM
Hello everyone!
Recently I was thinking about BTC payments and I believe that the system is moving towards bitcoin adoption and paying with bitcoin. And it's great!

But the problem for me is that anytime I think about paying with BTC I feel somehow uncomfortable. I always remember the guy who spent 30+ bitcoins on pizza and now these bitcoins are worth a fortune. Like I don't want to be this guy and pay with an asset that WILL go up in price. It feels like you paying more for the product from a future perspective.

What are your thoughts about this? Personally, I usually try to buy with stablecoins if I have some, it just feels more natural for me. I don't want to touch my BTC while the market is still bad.
170  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC needed for retirement in 10 years? on: March 23, 2023, 07:23:54 AM
Don't think about how many bitcoins you need. You can never get enough BTC  Grin

So I think it's best for you to just keep accumulating and not think about it. Eventually, you will realize that you have enough.
171  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin will pump soon? Lower interest rates in june. on: March 22, 2023, 04:09:17 PM
Hello crypto bros, it's me again with an update on my "inflation" and "the best time to buy bitcoin" topics.

I already talked about how we all should wait for the FED to start cutting interest rates cos it will be a great signal that bitcoin and stock markets WILL go up. (because the economy will get better)

So today I want to talk about a possible date when it could actually start happening. If you will check the CME website you will see that the market expectation is that FED will start cutting interest rates in June. And it's a very important thing for the economy and crypto.

First of all, it would be a big signal for people to invest in crypto. Secondly, it will mean that economy will start recovering which will be huge for all markets including crypto.

But you all should know that things won't happen in one day or month. Bitcoin will pump, but then it will start growing slowly. The economy needs some time to recover. But it will already be a starting point for us to buy bitcoin.

So let's hope that we will see FED cutting interest rates in June. Good luck to everyone BTC Wink
172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money is considered as "invest only what you can afford to lose" on: March 22, 2023, 03:58:26 PM
It's literally in the name and it depends on every person. You need to know how much money you usually spend a month and add some extra to it just in case. And all the money left you can invest knowing that you won't touch them. But you only need to invest this money if you are ready to "forget" about them for a pretty long time in case of the crypto winter.

And also daily reminders to everyone: NEVER go into debt to invest. It's might be the biggest mistake you can make with crypto. Because it's sad to lose your money but to lose someone's money is much much worse for you.

Play it safe crypto bros BTC
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could there be any importance and need for some kind of mild regulations? on: March 22, 2023, 07:27:23 AM
Could there be any importance and need for some kind of mild regulations?

We need regulations for sure. Because they will speed up adoption which will rise the price and usability of bitcoin. The other question is WHAT regulations we need. And because it's the government choosing them, these regulations would be bad for bitcoin. That's why we probably need a long time before bitcoin will be regulated correctly.
174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will lead the world currency market?? on: March 21, 2023, 08:44:00 AM
No. I think bitcoin will just become a part of the system and the economy will react to it as a whole. But I don't think it will "lead" the market. But the fact that it will be a huge and important thing for the markets and economy is great too.

But I think we still have a long way to go before that. It's hard to predict how fast adoption will go up but it's clear that we need to wait until bitcoin will come back to at least 50k.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a legal tender OR pay with BTC and get REAL goods. on: March 20, 2023, 12:16:23 AM
I think we will come to bitcoin being a legal tender some day. Right now everything still moves slowly and some countries still fully ignore bitcoin and crypto. And not enough people know about bitcoin enough to use it. And you also can't forget transaction fees that might be too much for people.

But all these problems will be dealt with. Governments already become aware of crypto, and many businesses want to adopt it, and more people know about bitcoin every day. And even problems with transaction fees could be solved with the lightning network.

Overall, the fact that bitcoin IS the money of the future and a way for people to get real freedom and anonymity will push adoption. I think more and more people realize that they don't trust banks, especially after what happened to Credit Suisse.
176  Economy / Speculation / Re: What about the little increase? on: March 19, 2023, 10:09:49 AM
I believe this is good sign that bitcoin will pump this year.

I recommend you not to make quick assumptions on what will happen to the market next after a relatively small pump. It sounds like wishful thinking.

I already talked about it in my posts, but if you want to know what will happen to bitcoin this year you should watch how the economy looks right now. And pay attention to what is happening in the US with inflation and interesting rates, it plays a huge role in what will happen to the market next.
177  Economy / Speculation / Re: will bitcoin continue to rise on: March 18, 2023, 03:55:27 AM
It will keep rising in the next 10+ years. But right now it's hard to predict when it will go up to 30k+. But my best guess is that you should wait until the economy will get better, the market will be more predictable and FED will start lowering interest rates.
178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you feel when people tells their story on bitcoin on: March 18, 2023, 03:12:48 AM
Do you feels your late getting involved to the industry and do you wishes to be like them..

Nah, it's never too late to invest in crypto. We are all still early. Personally, I like reading about how bitcoin changed people's lives. It's amazing that people appreciate this technology. Sometimes bitcoin literally saves people and gives them hope. After reading this you literally can't keep saying that bitcoin is just a bubble or useless.
179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The value of bitcoin remains the same on: March 17, 2023, 01:56:03 PM
I think bitcoin's value will rise in the next decade. When mass adoption will hit and people realize that bitcoin is not just an asset to invest in but the freedom and privacy, its value will go up for sure.

And another good thing about bitcoin is that his value won't go down. Only up.
