1601  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Russia Becomes World’s Second-Largest Crypto Miner on: April 14, 2023, 01:49:21 PM
No wonder because according to https://www.statista.com/statistics/263492/electricity-prices-in-selected-countries/

Russia has cheap electricity around 0.06 per KwH and of course a good internet connection cold temperature and it seems regulation there allow to mine bitcoin with Crypto miners in Russia will have to declare earnings or face jail time. - https://beincrypto.com/russian-crypto-mining-bill-mandates-earnings-reports-face-jail-time/
If you look at wholesale prices in the Irkutsk region, they are at least 2 times cheaper. There is a lot of old mining equipment in Russia, but when you buy it very cheaply in China and pay 3 cents for electricity and still do not pay taxes, then the miners make good money. The law on mining has not yet been adopted.
1602  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How much do I need to start mining? on: April 14, 2023, 01:42:54 PM
I know huge capital is required to meet up huge financial expectations, what's the minimum volume of income one can use to start mining? In a situations where you trade with different strategies and still hits wrong targets, if you apply or use same trading knowledge for mining won't one still loss in mining too? Because I don't have enough money with me, so am trying to cut losses if mining too will not favor me I will decided to venture into mining too again.

Can I start mining with $300 and grow from there?
Mining is not the fastest and easiest way to make money. You have cheap electricity. If you are paying more than 6 cents, then you don't need to be mining right now. To gain experience, you can buy a small mining farm on 4x Rx470 video cards, but this is only for training. And you need to have at least a little experience with components.

Another FPGA miner-U50C Miner
http://www.midaslabs.net/#/home

FPGA bitstream is a file that contains the programming information for the FPGA chip. midasminer_u50c is our specific bitstream for FPGA to behave as a miner. U50c with HBM can mine Ethereum faster because HBM allows the accelerators to perform memory-hard compute tasks much faster than existing technology.

1606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Why buy old ASICS? on: April 13, 2023, 01:03:32 PM
Someone just dumped a bunch of antminer x3s on ebay. scooped up as many as i can in case cryptonight coins make a run in a heavily regulated market.
Cryptonight coins? They are almost all dead 🤣😅🤣 the few ones that remain are Dero, Loki, havven, turtle coin, I mined cryptonight coins since 2017 and 90% of them died, it was a painful experience for me.

Worked out for me real well...Dynex launched as cryptonight original and I just happened to be around to see them and started mining it with all those X3s I got for 20 $$ off ebay. The first day of mining 1 X3 made 6k coins...I soon had my army of 15 of them going. that month was the best mining season of my life. I still have a ton of them for when it runs to 1$.

For anyone looking for a time stamp post of someone making a bet, then having someone say they will be wrong, only for the original person to be right....scroll up and read my post from early 2022 about me buying old asics as a speculative play with the intention of some coin launching.

Dynex lunched cryptonight and I made a ton of money. each miner I bought was 20$$ with shipping...don't believe me go look at the sale history of X3s in early 22.
Asic Bitmain Antminer X3 (220Kh) is powered by CryptoNight algorithm and Dynex changed the algorithm to DynexSolve at the end of 2022. If you are lucky enough to use Antminer X3 competently, then we are happy for you. But this is very difficult to guess and there are risks of mining a worthless coin.

I will admit I got lucky but that is the nature of this thread.......I remember I had to scramble to buy a bunch of the power supplies. If I had had all the power supplies on hand day 1 I would have even more of them....I remember my farm of 15 of them was pulling a ton of power. I got lucky it was in the fall and not summer or temps would have been to high.

my main reason for buying the X3 was it was the most developed asic for that algo ever (cryptonight original) and development stopped right after XMR hard forked. I knew there was no risk of there being some secret asic out there because development on the algo truly stopped in 2018 because all incentive stopped and asic development is very expensive.

The Antminer X3 originally retailed for 11k...That price soon dropped and "bonus units" were given to the early 11k  buyers that were mad once XMR said they would hardfork the algo in a month(hence the rise of XMC by bitmain) but the asic was still very expensive. all buyers of the X3 lost big in the same way people did with the Dash antminer D3 BUT that algo still has active development and coins.

What asic could have another speculative run? The antminer B7 which fits the same criteria above.

And what are you doing with your Antminer X3 ASICs now?
From autumn to winter, not much time has passed to mine a lot of coins.
Antminer B7 mining Tensority algorithm and which coins are you targeting?
Bytom BTM has already been mined a lot, more than 85% of all coins

All the new coins pumping this round Nexa, Radiant, Dynex, and kaspa have one thing in common....they are being mined by FPGAs and the people mining it are the same ones pumping the price.

All of these algos are "unique" and that's right they are!....they are unique and the Devs and backers to the coins have had the bitstreams required to mine them since day 1. The few coins GPU miners get and sell are their costs to pump. They make money from the non-miners and Binance degens they suck in from all the youtube "MaKe 100x ToDaY"
Share information about Nexa, Radiant, Dynex mining with FPGA. Not all coins are profitable to mine using FPGA, because mining on video cards is more profitable and cheaper. But you can mine Casp and buy another coin after the sale. But you won't interfere with GPU miners.

https://wccftech.com/amd-radeon-pro-w7900-graphics-card-with-rdna-3-gpu-for-workstation-pcs-spotted/

AMD is playing big by introducing its first Navi 3X based Radeon Pro series at lower prices than competitors. The W7900 will retail at $3,999 while W7800 will cost $2,499. This is significantly cheaper than RTX 6000 Ada, which has a MSRP of $6,800, but AMD was too quick to note it is actually offered at much higher price right now ($8,615).

1609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Future of GPU mining, what's your plan? on: April 13, 2023, 12:42:12 PM
I have never seen where a graphic card is capable of mining four different coins at the same times, different algorithms for that matter, are you for real? For the fact that this is running on a P102-100 gpu makes me believe this can't be real, that is a weak graphic card, can you provide a screenshot?

The team black miner can miner 3 coins at the same time

https://github.com/sp-hash/TeamBlackMiner/tree/main/Windows%20Launch%20Scripts/ETC%2BVTC%2BZIL

KASPA doesn't use the memory part of the gpu so it can be mined in parallell with ETC+ZIL+VTC. ZIL pow is 1 minute of mining in every hour.
VTC is only using 50% memory so ETC can be mined with a small profit in parallell

P100-102 from 2018 (similar to gtx 1080ti)

ETC: 10MHASH $0.0298  (Ethereum classic)
ZIL: 50MHASH $0.2901 (Zilliqa)
VTC; 860khash $0.1911 (vertcoin)
kaspa: 440MHASH $0.2602 (kaspa)

$0.77 profit per 24hour.

I can just mine EPIC on ProgPoW with a 1080TI and make $1.06 daily with 52% energy savings.
Soon other miners will come to you and, as always, profit will drop. Although this coin is hard to sell. It is only traded on the unknown ViteX exchange and there is very little trading. Where do you sell your coins?  DYNEX gives slightly less profit, but it is easier to sell.
1610  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining GPU Coins in 2023 on: April 13, 2023, 12:34:58 PM
NEXA and KASPA will be new bull season coins. Maybe DNX.
Well, NEXA pays the first payment after 7 days. But it s a good thing for long term mining. Not good for the beginner level.

CLORE, PAPRY, NOVO, EVR are not good coins in my opinion. (for long term mining)
Well, the prices is up in time but not for long term.

I'm thinking about running my own node and mining KASPA but a little lazy to set it up.

I'm mining NEXA but I hate waiting 7 days to get paid out. I agree though that it might be a good thing since it keeps miners from just dumping as soon as they mine NEXA.

I'm not a fan of KAWPOW since it draws too much power.
This way miners will avoid the KAWPOW algorithm. On new video cards, this algorithm is not very profitable and consumes a lot of energy. The old video cards VEGA 64 and VEGA 56 perform quite well here at 30Mh/s, although the 4090 shows 65 Mh/s. And the 6600 XT is one of the most economical cards based on this algorithm.

Tether Blacklists MEV Bots Exploiter ‘Sandwich the Ripper’ After ‘Official Requests’
Tether, a centralized entity behind popular stablecoin USDT, has blacklisted an Ethereum validator who had front-run MEV bots, earning $25 million via a sandwich attack.
The exploiter, who called themselves “Sandwich the Ripper,” will no longer be able to receive, send or redeem the $3 million worth of USDT held in their address.

Tether’s decision to blacklist the exploiter has drawn criticism from industry participants.

Uri Klarman, the CEO of bloXrouteLabs, told Blockworks in an interview that the exploiter did exactly what a sandwich bot would do.

“It didn’t hurt the consensus, it didn’t create two blocks at the same time, it gave them an invalid block that didn’t propagate,” Klarman said.

I have never even heard of these coins Smiley

These coins popped up not long ago. I don't think they are listed on coinmarketcap yet Smiley

Just hoping one will do well.

NEXA  is small real small.

only 1 exchange tradeogre.com

https://tradeogre.com/exchange/USDT-NEXA

the entire usdt book is only $20,000

went up to 24,000 in a day or 2 but that is almost nothing

The mexc exchange has a large trading volume
https://www.mexc.com/ru-RU/exchange/NEXA_USDT?
It's even better for the coin and we can mine more coins until there are additions to the major exchanges and miners start buying new 4000 series graphics cards for mining.

It’s not very profitable to get Monero on video cards now, you don’t even have to try. It is better to mine a profitable coin and then buy Monero. Raptoreum will not be used by companies because POW mining is not suitable for many.
1617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: BzMiner - Advanced Commercial Nvidia ETH Miner v2.6 release. 0.5% Dev fee on: April 12, 2023, 12:42:32 PM
I'm using Fedora 37 and with my EVGA 3080Ti XC3, I was able to use bzminer to adjust clocks and power limits.

However, I have another machine with a EVGA 3090 FTW3 and I can't get bzminer to adjust the lock memory clock.  Power limit works, not sure if the lock core clock worked or not (lower than specified in the setting, but it could be because the memory is still at the stock 9751 MHz).

Thinking it may be a Linux thing, I booted into Windows 11, and same thing.  So does bzminer have a problem with OC settings with 3090s?

PS: In all instances, I ran with sudo (Linux) and admin (Win).
I have not used Fedora for mining and have not used Windows for a long time, but I can suggest you try Hive OS. There is a very convenient interface for setting the core frequency, memory frequency and power limit. It is also convenient to change the miner very quickly in order to compare the hashrate and check for errors on the selected miner.

These are not mining rigs, they are 2 standalone PCs.  Still doesn't explain why bzminer can control the memory clocks on a 3080Ti but not the 3090.

Because Fedora is not a mining system and no one has checked for errors in this system. I would try other miners and manual commands:
Miner options for lolMiner
--coff 300 --cclk 1470 --mclk 5001 --pl 350
Miner options for Rigel
--cclock 300 --lock-cclock 1470 --lock-mclock 5001 --pl 350
Miner options for BzMiner
--oc_core_clock_offset 300 --oc_lock_core_clock 1470 --oc_lock_memory_clock 5001 --oc_power_limit 350
