In an effort to help verifying you are on the correct chain easier and hopefully getting anyone on an incorrect chain off of it faster, I will start doing faucet rounds every 12 hours. Rounds will close/open at 12 P.M. EST and 12 A.M. EST. This will start today and in about 20 minutes from the time of this writing. Feel free to enter as often as you wish but please, only enter once per round.

An easy way to know you are not in an incorrect fork is by entering the official faucet that I maintain at http://coin-faucet.com/EGC/

I process payouts every 24 hours at about 12 A.M. midnight Eastern Standard Time. Sometimes, for reasons both personal and technical, I do not get payouts processed at precisely midnight. Since community members may be using this as a way to verify their wallet is on the correct blockchain, I will make sticking to this time a higher priority.

When you receive payment from the faucet, you will know you are on the correct blockchain. This official faucet is funded by the EverGreenCoin Foundation.  

While your old wallet will continue to function correctly, you will not have the new improvements that will help ensure you do not get into an incorrect fork. For this reason, upgrading to v1.2.1 is very strongly urged. There is no hard fork so, I can not say it is "mandatory" in the sense that your older wallet will fail to function but it would be in your best interest, and therefore the entire EGC network's best interest, to do so.

Sorry for the confusion and I hope I have cleared it for you. Windows and Mac v1.2.1 binaries will be made available as soon as possible. If you are running Linux, please proceed to upgrade and I thank you if you have already done so.

Yes, Windows and Max OS X EverGreenCoin version 1.2.1 binaries are being built and will be released once thoroughly tested. This should be no longer than 48 hours but of course, sooner if possible.

Cryptopia is now upgrading to EverGreenCoin version 1.2.1.

I have been, and am in, direct communication with Richie of Bittrex. We are getting this resolved and Bittrex on the current v1.2.1 code so trading can resume.

I have been in contact with Bittrex, as well as all the other exchanges in the way that they are most responsive with (I still haven't figured out what yobit is responsive with ), asking them to upgrade to v1.2.1.

I am sure Bittrex trading can and will resume once Bittrex performs the upgrade.

So the community is aware, to maintain my accountability and transparency as the holder of the foundation's coins, and before any suspicions arise, if you look at the richlist which is now back to functional and notice the foundation far lower in the ranking than it should be, this is because I have the bulk of the EGC Foundation's coins in address ELynMfNpvy94BSgqc8KhJxyHD9tbQ1WS4v. This is the same address I have used many times for cleaning up the inputs in the foundation's wallet. The network troubles started while I was in the midst of one of my monthly foundation wallet clean ups and while I was using this clean up wallet to load the EGC paper wallets for the strato launch event. The foundation's wallet is quite bogged down from an input every minute so, loading 700 paper wallets would have been easily an all day chore from the foundation's wallet.

The EGC Foundation's balance is about 250k EGC including the coins in the clean up wallet (again, ELynMfNpvy94BSgqc8KhJxyHD9tbQ1WS4v) and the official wallet (EdFwYw4Mo2Zq6CFM2yNJgXvE2DTJxgdBRX) and all the foundation's coins are very safe and secure. I will keep the coins in the easily usable and responsive clean up wallet, unless the community objects, until we know all chances of funding being needed to reconcile users and/or exchanges is past. If it is found that these steps are needed I do not want to make anyone wait the very long time the foundation wallet needs to become responsive enough to send. Please know all this is done in the best interest of time, both mine and any potential recipients. Once the dust settles I will return the coins, finishing the monthly clean up I started now weeks ago, so that the foundation address does properly rank on the richlist.

EverGreenCoin Version 1.2.1 (w/ BIP66) passed all its test and is running on the 1st seed node (seed.evergreencoin.org) and some local boxes now. The source has been pushed. Updating the other seednodes as soon as possible. Windows and Mac binaries will be made available as soon as possible thereafter.

At this time only 108.61.216.195 and i have a local at 74.5.137.87 I believe crysx has one running.

EDIT the BIP66 improvement has put a wrinkle in 1.2 roll out. 1.2.1 will include the BIP66 improvement. It is being tested  (@ 74.5.137.87)

I have been advised adding BIP66 to the EverGreenCoin code will help against forks. I am doing test builds with BIP66 now.

I have uncovered what I feel may have been the culprit of the forks and it does relate to PoS. Checkpoint staking modifiers specifically. I have pushed EverGreenCoin version 1.2 to github. I have updated the first seednode to 1.2 already and will be upgrading the 2nd now. Crysx is updating the seednodes on the granite network now as well.

Windows and Mac EGC v1.2 wallets will be compiled and released as soon as possible.
