1621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Help with P2PKH (starts with "1") address is supported for BTC on: January 17, 2023, 08:38:50 AM
I wonder why you need a legacy address.
If you are trying to withdraw bitcoin from a service that doesn't support withdrawing to segwit addresses, take note that segwit soft fork was implemented more than 5 years ago and if a service doesn't support segwit addresses yet, it should be avoided.
1622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin core - Create new reception address function unavailable on: January 16, 2023, 10:38:12 PM
in bitcoin core is it possible to create a new reception address if the wallet isn't fully sync?  Or do we need to fully sync the wallet before I can process to create new reception address?
Addresses are generated locally in your device and you don't have to download the blockchain for that. You can generate new addresses even if your computer isn't connected to the internet.
Take note that to see the receiving transaction(s) and spending the fund, you will have to download the full blockchain.
1623  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Iancoleman users I want answers on: January 16, 2023, 07:04:35 PM
How sure are you that iamcoleman is safe? It's open source? My foot, because this website is just like every other websites out there, someone is always behind them, typing in your recovery seed means it's not safe anymore.
The tool in question is open-source and we can be sure that it hasn't been created to steal people's keys. So, it's not that anything you enter is recorded by the website owner. But since any online service and any online device is vulnerable to hacking, you should never use this tool online.
If you use Iancoleman properly, it's safe. Using properly means downloading the source code and running it on an airgapped device.
1624  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can you transfer large amounts of BTC using Lightning Network on: January 16, 2023, 05:12:06 PM
The company that is claiming they are going to send the bitcoin is stating that I need to transfer 0.598647 BTC in order to receive 12.4 BTC.
You will lose all your money, if you send them that 0.59 BTC.

I have no idea what they mean by "Hash Power on Reflection ID" and why the fee is so large.
You have no idea about this because you don't pay attention to the replies made in your previous topics. There is no such a fee at all. That's the money they are trying to steal from you.
You are repeating the same question over and over again. As said many times, they are scammer.

So i have to be subscribed to freebitcoin advertisements?
If you go to your profile, you see that there are four kinds of subscriptions.
1. Payment notifications
2. Deposit notifications
3. Ad account Notifications
4. Promotions

TheQuin is the only one who can answer this and I am not sure, but I guess for receiving lottery winning notifications, you should need to subscribe for "deposit notifications".

with 5k tickets you only had like ~0.025% chance of winning any prize (if my quick calculation is correct).
That's not accurate, since it's not possible to win more than 1 prize in the lottery.

Ps. Does anyone knows if we get email notifications when winning any prize in the lottery?
Yes, you should get a notification to your email address if you win the lottery.

1627  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Address reuse is simpler than alternatives and not always bad - discussion on: January 16, 2023, 11:00:46 AM
Disagree. It would be too simple to protect just seed phrase. In reality and by definition, all private keys (master + child ones) together with the seed phrase need protection. Seed may make backup easier while it does not replace the need for protection of private keys.
If your seed phrase is kept safely, then all your private keys are safe as well. You are not going to keep each of your private keys in a separate location. All you need to keep is your seed phrase.

If a private key is compromised then all its child keys (and even parent keys in some cases) are compromised too.
If a private key is compromised, it has nothing to do with other private keys.
If your seed phrase is compromised, all your private keys are compromised.

It's not viable to revoke a private key without revoking all its child keys. Is it incorrect?
What do you mean by "revoking a private key"? I don't understand this.
1628  Other / Meta / Re: How many forum members do you know by real name? on: January 15, 2023, 06:16:41 PM
It seems that you forgot to add "zero" to the voting options. I am pretty sure many of participants would vote for zero if it was possible.
And what if someone knows 5 users in the real world? Should vote for 3-5 or 5-10?
1629  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper wallet for BTC used to be the best on: January 15, 2023, 05:31:41 PM
When you create your wallets, do it offline.
Being offline at the time wallet creation isn't enough.
With disconnecting your device from internet when creating the wallet, you don't really increase your security.
If you want your wallet to be secure, you should create on an air-gapped device. This means that you should create your wallet on a device which has been always offline and will be never online.
1630  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will FIFA increase the number of teams to participate in the 2026 world cup? on: January 15, 2023, 04:25:00 PM
The decision has been already made. Yes, we will see 48 teams in the next FIFA world cup. Visit the following link for more information.
Unanimous decision expands FIFA World Cup™ to 48 teams from 2026

But if this must happen, then all I see  is that we will have eight European teams(which is half of the new teams already coming from Europe) and the other eight teams to Africa, Asia, North and Central America and South America.
The number of European teams will increase by 3.
Number of teams per confederation in 2026 FIFA world cup will be as follows.

Quote from: FIFA
. AFC: 8.5 slots
· CAF: 9.5 slots
· CONCACAF: 6.5 slots
· CONMEBOL: 6.5 slots
· OFC: 1.5 slot
· UEFA: 16 slots
1631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paper wallet for BTC used to be the best on: January 15, 2023, 02:54:37 PM
So not sure what paper wallet generator that still functions as of today because there could be malicious attackers as well.
Take note that for generating a paper wallet, you don't have to use such services.
Any tool that can generate a private key offline can be used for generating a paper wallet. For example, you can run electrum on an air-gapped device, create a wallet and write down (or print using a safe printer machine) the seed phrase or each of the private keys on a paper. That can work as a secure paper wallet perfectly.
1632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: my friend lost the password for his crytowallet. what he could do? on: January 14, 2023, 08:30:03 AM
his computer was lost and he had the password and words list on it. thus we lost access to his wallet.
What do you mean by "words list"? Are you referring to a series of 12/24 words that is called seed phrase or mnemonic phrase?
If so, the wallet in question can't be bitcoin core, because it doesn't support seed phrase at all.
1633  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Signature Primary Purpose (Advertising or Gift) on: January 14, 2023, 08:07:03 AM
The forum doesn't pay you for your posts. But you can join a signature campaign, advertise their service with wearing their signature and get paid for your posts.
Not that this doesn't mean you don't need to make quality posts for getting paid. You can't join a signature campaign with high paying rate, if you are a spammer.
1634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Scammed but I can't imagine how it is possible. on: January 13, 2023, 06:42:04 PM
No, I just downloaded it for the first time. I assure you, the download was the official one, and the possibility for it to have been a malware attack is 0.
But the chance of being hacked is never 0, if you use an online wallet. There's always the possibility of being hacked.
As I said in my previous post, Exodus is a close source wallet and there is no way to know whether they stole your fund or not.
If you want your fund to be secure in the future, you should use a reputable open-source wallet on an air-gapped device or go for a good hardware wallet.
1635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Scammed but I can't imagine how it is possible. on: January 13, 2023, 09:20:13 AM
I recently decided to switch to Exodus to recieve, send and hold my crypto.
What do you mean by switch?
Did you generate a new wallet in Exodus, or you imported your seed phrase from another wallet into Exodus?

Exodus is a close source wallet and there is no way to know what's happening behind the scene. There is no way to know whether they have access to users keys or not. So, you shouldn't use Exodus in the first place. Of course, this doesn't mean what happened to you is due to a vulnerability in Exodus. Someone probably had access to your keys and it could be to due to having a malware or using a fake version of exodus.

1637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can trustwallet be hacked. can the owners take money of all the users? on: January 08, 2023, 12:28:39 PM
Weird that they can lie on their website because it is easy for developers to check a wallet is open source or close source.
Unfortunately, most people don't do that and they easily believe everything they read over the internet without validating the information.
Trustwallet has probably deceived many people in this way. Just google "Is trustwallet open-source?" and see the result.
1638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the maximum number of loosing streak possible in dice with 20%/5x win? on: January 08, 2023, 12:08:52 PM
And this strategy has been used by many gamblers and has proven to be successful.
No. It's proven that with using martingale strategy, not only you don't increase your chance, but you decrease your chance.
If you use martingale strategy, you will finally lose all your money. To succeed, you need unlimited balance. Since it's impossible to have an unlimited balance, the strategy doesn't work as excepted by some people like you.
1639  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BLOCKCHAIN account- Newbie - how to get one? on: January 08, 2023, 11:59:03 AM
CURRENCY -  so...whart is it...mine was Euro from casino..now its all numbers....but...do i put down euro?
Forget about the casino. You withdrew bitcoin, not fiat. Now you have bitcoin and you can sell it for any currency you want.

AMOUNT  - states BNB   ( so...i want sell around 200euro )
Isn't the currency set to BNB?
As said, you should change the "Currency" to the currency you want change your bitcoin to.
1640  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Please help! Can't withdraw money from Android Electrum on: January 08, 2023, 05:48:26 AM
The problem is with trustedcoin that can't sign 2FA segwit transactions in the new version of electrum.
Someone reported the same issue on electrum github, 2 days ago. See issue #8128.

You have the following options:
1. Wait for trustedcoin to fix the bug.
2. Restore your wallet from the seed phrase and disable 2FA.
3. Downgrade electrum to the version 4.3.2
