You don't understand. The whole thing was just an clumsy attempt to attract my attention, like an awkward teen lobbing spitballs at the girl he's crushing on. I tactfully tried to ignore his unseemly advances, hoping that rassling with inca for my affections would tire him out, but now it's starting to get a bit out of hand... A/S/L?

Not all of them... I enjoy unignoring that LambTroll from time to time to pick his fancy unicorn tail... I then ignore back, cause chineseposters "Thanks Obama" repetitive cheap crap.

That's tomorrow. Fuckin Idiots. The Bull:-inca: This is a trend reversal. Another bear trap. Bullish. We're going up anytime soon. Bitcoin FTW!!!!! The H0dler:-macsga: It's nothing but business as usual. All you need to do is keep for the long run. I regret selling that amount of my coins for $10. It won't happen again. well, you were laughing at the "bearwhale" and his 30 k, but now I think it is clear what was his agenda: to destroy producers of asics and centralized mining centers. this is only the beginning. prepare for 100 $ coins.
Since the most part was "fresh" coins according to the "days destroyed" chart, this "bear whale" could as well be a great mining pool. I've posted this since sometime in June/July if I can recall right.

Sounds great.
But actually the market sets the price of a bitcoin - not miners. If miners cant mine profitably then they go out of business, regardless of how much money they spent on 'producing coin' and someone else does instead.
Over the longer term the bitcoin network only costs what the market will bear, nothing more.
^^^ This. Really; how difficult is it for someone to understand, that every system needs an equilibrium? Hashrate Vs Price will eventually find their own. Simple as that.

ETF has to go a bold step forward to function. That is called "proper and clear rules". In the meantime, several other issues are not resolved which (IMHO) are far more important: 1. MtGox case (stinks from top to bottom) 2. ATM distribution 3. Exchange legislation and transparency (every transaction should be on the ledger) Until then, this place is going to be a bear-fest and troll party. Enjoy it while it lasts.

@empowering: Press that Ignore button on the left. Works like a charm and makes this place a whole lot better and quieter.

Ultimately I think the only way to stop the constant crashing is if the international buyers find enough interest in bitcoin to buy a large chunk of the coins back from China.
Independently of whether the Chinese exchanges are solvent or fake or whatever, I still believe that lots of coins (at least 500 000 BTC, perhaps a couple million) went from "Western" hand to Chinese hands last November. And I also believe that those coins have been coming back to the West since then (via arbitragers), as the Chinese are gradually losing interest in "bitcoin gambling". But the Chinese day-traders still have enough coins in the exchanges to set the price. And I believe that the price has been generally dropping since then (apart from the two mini-bubbles I mentioned earlier) because there aren't enough people in the West willing to buy those coins that the Chinese want to sell -- plus the 3600 coins that are mined each day, plus the unknow number of old cheap coins that early adopters may be cashing out. This chart shows that each day about 4 million bitcoin-days are destroyed, considering only coins that have not moved in the past year. That could man people moving 11'000 coins that were not moved for 1 year, or 5500 coins that were not moved by 2 years, etc. It is hard to interpret these numbers, because "coins moving" does not mean "coins changing hands". Even so, it seems quite possible that early adopters are cashing out 1000 BTC/day. In that case, the people who are starting or increasing their BTC holdings would have to give 270'000 US$/day to those early adopters, in addition to the 1 M US$/day they must give to the miners, in order to maintain the price. @JorgeStolfi Looking on a chart should be according to the respective timescale. Time is of the essence my friend. I'd propose to take a look here: https://blockchain.info/charts/bitcoin-days-destroyed-min-year?showDataPoints=false×pan=356days&show_header=true&daysAverageString=7&scale=0Makes a difference when you look it from different perspective, no?

Not those are rich who have much, but those who don't want much.
^^This. The rest is BS.

Stupidest shit I've ever heard. Allegedly for "Vote brigading", one of Reddit's 5 so called rules. Redditors in r/Bitcoin thread makes the fools in the Wall Observer thread seem intelligent. True; even LambTroll outperforms them

Don't know if it's true; he seems to endorse voting which is prohibited: "They are directing people to upvote and downvote information in their upcoming AMA. This is against our rules." Oh well...

People buying on localbitcoins are fucking retards.
I mean, I can perfectly understand people SELLING them there (you get a premium and you launder money perfectly), but BUYING THEM there? Are you an idiot? Why the hell would you pay a lot more for your coins if they might be stolen coins everybody is tracking in the blockchain?
I guess the most retarded combo would be: "investor" in bitcoins bought on localbitcoins and r/bitcoin enthusiast. Like, it can't get anymore retarded than that lol
Seriously? In some places it's EXTREMELY difficult to buy bitcoins other than that. As for the tracking, there's a MILLION (known) ways to mix stolen bitcoins prior selling them (not counting unknown). Besides, localbitcoins is anonymous. Some people want to stay that way. Try buying anonymously from an exchange. Yeah; can't be done.

How I wish we could take this moment and freeze it To come back to again and again and again-- To hold it to the light Now, turn it in our hands and study all the angles To find out how and why it's gotta go the way that it goes We have the technology not available before We have the technology I wish we could take this moment and freeze it and admire the great gift this user's presence has given to our community. Most of us ignored him, took him for a troll but... His intelligence, his manners, his insightful thoughts to lead us to where no fiat has gone before... ...since the 2008 fiasco. THANK YOU LAMBTROLL!!!!YOU'RE THE MAN (so to speak)...
