very strange, but seemingly common enough to be in the FAQs

after 3 power cycles myminer.io is working - NOTHING else is

Hopefully zvisha or someone from support will arrange with you to remote access to your device and sort it out, I could be wrong but I don't think you will get much help from most of the enthusiasts on the forum, not for want of trying but more for lack of technical insight.

1683  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Spondoolies SP30 in-hand - August batch on: September 11, 2014, 08:01:17 AM
Due to popular demand and advice from others on the correct price for the SP30, I will offer it up for $4200 .

I will accept BTC

escrow is a must.

Shipping in USA only.

If you are interested let me know.

thanks!

Is shipping included in the price (in the USA?)
1684  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Spondoolies SP30 in-hand - August batch on: September 10, 2014, 10:43:05 PM
Isn't this the one you bought from JoelKatz in this thread for 7.192BTC in July?

Then you asked what people were selling them for in August in this thread?

I'd say if you can get 8BTC for it then go for it as well.

1685  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 10, 2014, 03:18:30 PM

Small adjustment, lets go by quoted performance, 5.5TH / 453GH = just over 12 S3's plus you have to buy them in pairs anyway from Bitmain so its actually more realistic, then adjust the PSU price as well to account for the extra S3 and it starts the approach the price of the SP3x, theres still some margin to the benefit of buying S3's but then the add another 355W for the extra S3 and the watts is much higher than the SP3x

Lastly they really are different markets with the SP3x and S3 because for Sp-tech buyers the smaller rack U footprint is important when paying for rack space.

In which case the SP20 is much more comparable a product and as you say its close there as well from a price perspective.

Not getting into the ROI debate, everyone has their own justification or lack of for that, I just trust people to make the decision on what to purchase for themselves for their own reasons.

Correction, you don't have to buy them in twos. The minimum order is two. I bought three. And they also allow you to purchase a single S3 by placing an order for two but you only send payment for one.

My mistake, still need 12 though Smiley
1686  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 10, 2014, 12:33:03 PM

5.5TH = 11 S3+ units = ~6.3 BTC

AFAIC, an ATX supply to power these is reusable for other systems and has a strong resale market. (not so much for the server PSUs in an SP31). You might spend $700 to power 4kW, but could resell those supplies a year later for $400-500

besides, the S3+ B8 price was too high - i purposely did not buy any for that reason. At this point in the game prices for units that dont have a PSU and use <0.7w/GH should be around 1BTC/TH.   (Asicminer gear at 1.2w/GH has been selling for ~1BTC/TH almost two weeks now)

"If you want to compare them with the SP20's then 1.7 TH/s ± 10% @ $1,190.00 + PSU. 1100 W With a 0.9 Efficiency PSU."

4x S3+ units = 1.8TH / 1.4kW @ $1,120.00 + PSU  (expected to overclock easily to 1.9-2.0 TH) - Shipping before Sept 20 (at least 2 weeks before Spondoolies' 'October Shipping'

tl;dr - i agree that a lot of hardware right now is not going to ROI if we keep getting difficulty jumps >10%. The best ROI is to buy Asicminer equipment for less $/GH and run them in a location with cheap power. hopefully we see some in-stock sales and price competition next month

1687  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] SP30 YUKON 4.5TH/S - In Hand on: September 10, 2014, 09:52:29 AM
$550-600/TH is about the right price really. SP-tech themselves are selling at $650-700/TH for new kit.

Yes you can get away with a slightly higher price because its a different clientèle for sp-tech than other kit where rack optimised becomes a deciding factor, but you can't be silly about it.

Thats about the price I would pay if the OP agreed, and I do sincerely hope he gets a buyer.
1688  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 10, 2014, 01:35:25 AM
Yes, you are right. I think I will stick to SP31

Which is great for those that already got a coupon, for those still waiting there is no SP31 any more.

Probably a world record for hashing density.

Looks like about 2 Petahash / second or about $500,000 / month at today's difficulty

Really?
Top shelves: 9 x 3 x 2 x 4.5TH = 243TH
Middle shelves: 8 x 3 x 2 x 4.5TH = 216TH
Bottom shelves: 8 x 3 x 2 x 4.5TH = 216TH

Total = 675TH
1692  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 08, 2014, 04:19:15 PM
I think mentioned before coupons are only for sp31 cant be used with other miners

that was before the existence of Sp-20 and Sp-35 (whatever this is) was partially revealed. In any case, you can always use cash rebate.

Due to a technical restriction the discount coupons are valid only for SP31. Should you choose to hang on to them for future products please contact us and we will replace the coupon.

The fault of not providing the correct power cables is not with the colo, it with the supplier of the equipment.

The C14 male and female is fairly common I would be surprised if they didn't have them, but the C19 usually comes on only really high end servers and things like massive switches and UPS's PSU's

Never blamed the DC for not having cables. I was just trying to find a backup plan/solution for the missing cable not provided by the manufacturer Smiley

Oh I asked all right, hoped they would take then ones I had to ship as replacements if they had been able to lend me some.
1694  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 07, 2014, 01:57:28 AM
Yeah I know they come with C14 to C19 cables for plugging into PDU's.

Problem is I found out that that only sent one cable with each SP30 instead of two, which means I'm running half speed till I can get Amazon to deliver to the datacenter on Monday. Sad

Care to share where are you hosting them? A DC should have all sort of cables around. I think they are required by their internal rules for safety reasons.

Did we ascertain whether the SP30's come with zero, one or two power cables?

2

The SP30 comes with 2 cables for power, but not the ones that you plug into your socket. They are only an extension that goes between the power cord and the PSU. You still need to provide 2 PSU power cords.

You guys obviously need to check the Subject of this thread...

Nobody gives a rats ass about your cooling or power issues...we're here for miner pron.
Well, if you kept up with the thread then you know that the comments about cooling referred to pictures that were pulled down.

Here's the megamine gear in our DC that was being discussed. Salivate away  Grin

Whats in the racks behind the Neptunes? Bare Jupiters?

Lol KnC doesn´t even provide a reference design for those chips.

I wonder who will buy them and spend money on building a PCB and drivers, to get a 1.2W/GH miner.
(Price was quoted for Neptunes including PSU.)

Better just buy AM BE200 chips, reference design is free, power consumption is lower.

Why not some October Rockerbox chips? Or wait for the Pickaxe?

Pretty cheap those KNC chips might be a few people willing to push boards out the door considering the price is very low. Again gotta board ready to drop them in?

Does your project have one?
1699  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: August 18, 2014, 11:48:53 AM

@Zvisha: Thanks, will let you know.

@Bicknellski: Do you read before you post, or just having fun?

I think the latter Smiley

What happened to Bitcoin, price droped so much, any bad news?

There's a board for that https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=57.0
Thanks for the sharing,  drop to 350 !? Scare me~

Yeah I forgot to add that its a scary place in there, lots of trolls and shills trying to affect the prices.
