1681  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: the easiest way to make a profit from gambling? on: August 12, 2016, 12:28:05 PM
the easiest way to win in gambling is to learn more about the games you are playing and there are two general categories of games:

1) those based on skills: so you have to start learning the skills to be able to win.

2) those based on luck more than anything else: for these games you have to learn a good strategy for winning in them.
1682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remember when Bitcoin was new and..... on: August 12, 2016, 12:24:26 PM
i remember the first time i heard about bitcoin i didn't even care enough to research further about it and learn more about bitcoin, and in my defense i have to say the person who told me about bitcoin had no idea about what it really is and said some bizarre stuff about mining and solving mathematical equations which was boring to even listen to Cheesy
1683  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: August 12, 2016, 12:17:07 PM
my suggestion is not to go 50/50 with bitcoin and gold but instead spread this 100% among multiple investments.

these can be bitcoin for sure, gold since you like it in this topic and we are all taking about it and also because it is one of the oldest and most reliable investments, altcoins if you are interested in them they are good investments, and in the end stock market if you are into that.

this way the risk is lower while the profit is the highest.
1684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I think Ethereum will be finished after this attack on: August 12, 2016, 12:13:43 PM
ethereum took a big hit after the DAO hack and the poorly handled situation after it by this centralized altcoin.
this is something that it can never clear from its name and will always remain with ethereum forever. and the price is surely fake because everybody was trading ETC when ETH got pumped by the whales and manipulators which was unnatural.
1685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin: 3 outcomes on: August 12, 2016, 12:03:04 PM
litecoin is a strong coin after bitcoin and will continue being strong for the foreseeable future. the coin could keep its volume up for a very long time and it is practically considered old, you can even say it is as old as bitcoin considering all other altcoins die so young.
but i don't think scenarios like 2 or 3 will ever happen in the crypto world.

Betting $500 that ltc will still be trading under $5 in October.
----
Your username is ironic... are you upside down in a trade or trying to acquire more cheap LTC? ROFL
Also, it was recently announced that LTC would be added to GDAX along with other digital assets. Both Fred and Charlie confirmed this, but didn't set an exact date.

I don't agree that the price will dump, but I also don't think it will sky rocket. It going up a little or sideways is more likely.

don't even read the trolls posts.
the funny thing about these desperate traders is that they think people forget about things they say from time to time.
he says litecoin is dying and goes to sub $2 and he can't even make up his own mind and in less than 10 days he claims litecoin is going to $25
all these are desperate acts to create some FUD and possible panic Cheesy
1686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Bitcoin? on: August 12, 2016, 11:47:46 AM
It is perfect combination right now. Bitcoin filled successfully the gap which traditional payment processors will not able to make. There some some very serious concerns regarding privacy, anonymity and security with easy to gamble online. I also started to gamble online when I saw the facilities of Bitcoin. Bitcoin and gambling has changed the gambling a lot and will grow more with time.

Agree with this. Before, when I tried to join certain online casinos that accepts and pay fiat money, they refused my enrolment due to my geographical location I was currently at. But with bitcoins, I can easily join and deposit  at anytime I like- no need for more identifications and etc..

exactly. and not only your location but also there are many problems with using money payment processors for example like PayPal, or any other that works in US and under their law, they will block your account and your money in it if you deposit in a gambling site.
1687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What keeps you coming back??? on: August 12, 2016, 11:43:09 AM
greed and hope are the reason for distruction in case of gambling. first we hope that we can win then we do win it then we gets greedy an wins more then we loose.then again we hope we can recover our losse and we became greedy again and we losse all

you can't say this generally about everyone who is gambling. i agree that there are some who are playing like what you said but that is not everybody and not even the majority.

many are only gambling for the fun of the games and only because they enjoy the game and also taking risks with their money.

also there are many who are professional gamblers like those poker players you see in Las Vegas Poker Tournaments that are making million dollar bets and earn a lot of money from gambling.
1688  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing investment on Gambling sites on: August 12, 2016, 11:38:48 AM

Was planing to invest on a gambling site since they said its a gauranteed profit since the house can't lose but I'm still skeptical about it, i don't have much BTC so I have to make sure whether its going to be profitable for me.  What possibilities could happen to the gambling site i wanted to invest into and how am i going to lose my investment in such a manner?

Even if the owners of the site are decent people they can be robbed and then you'll lose your invesment. I suggest you to invest only what you can afford to lose. You won't make big money this way but you will not lose much of your money either.
That's not the only risk, there's also variance, if the casino loses funds on the short term, you'd also be losing part of your investment.
You won't have this problem so much if there's a maximum amount to be won depending on the sites bankroll.
Gambling is not the only one to invest and your right its too risky but for me its better to invest our bitcoin in trading manage your bitcoins in altcoin is better because its less risk than gambling..

Trading is far away better than gambling even trading have a risk but  not as high  risk  in gambling.  The wise decision is you would choose  to invest it to trading because you would possible to earn bitcoin in the future if you know how to play trading.

it is wrong to even compare trading with gambling.
trading is for earning money and making profit.
gambling is for having fun and playing games.

you can earn a profit with gambling too but that doesn't make gambling an investment.
besides this topic is about investing in a gambling site's bankroll so you become a partner and it has nothing to do with either gambling nor trading Smiley
1689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make bitcoin?impossible? on: August 12, 2016, 11:32:54 AM
It is not possible to make bitcoin direct from laptop without any mining device, it require very huge investment to buy some mining devices to generate bitcoins, I can't say this it's impossible to make bitcoin but with the help of these devices we can make bitcoins for us.

OP is one of those guys who asked something with terrible English and ran away never showing up to clarify his own question.
and i am sure since he said "like fake money" he is not talking about earning bitcoin, instead he may be thinking about making fake bitcoin which is not possible as it was explained before.
1690  Economy / Speculation / Re: Testing 600 again on: August 11, 2016, 02:32:16 PM
We may see price above 700$ again and only up from there. Market support is huge even 60 million USD worth of hacked bitcoin can be digested by the buy support i think.
i hope that you are right, the price should grow at a really rapid pace pretty soon, that would be really cool as it would make me nice money easily

i believe that the recent dump can potentially act as a spring that was pressed down. because it provided everybody with the opportunity to buy cheap coins and also to test the downward resistance.
1691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: August 11, 2016, 02:28:23 PM
i would invest because that would be less risky to lose all my money not like in gambling
Yes but be careful of sites where you invest your money since there's a lot of investment sites that scams people.
This is true. investment nowadays is riskier like gambling.. to be very honest in investment the chance of loosing is equal as gambling..
there are some legit sites to invest but finding them is hard. because you can't trust any site because of so many scam attempts in past. that make it even more harder to find a trusted site. cause to find a trusted site we need to check a site ourself.
peoples can vouch for a site but it is hard to trust anyone too.

nothing has changed nowadays.
as always investment is hard and risky, you have to be careful about where you invest your money.
there has always been scammers, ponzi schemes,... and there will always be these things around. they just change form but the principle is the same.
and it is not hard to recognize them either. you just have to spend some time.
1692  Economy / Economics / Re: Is buying bitcoins the same as buying stocks in stock market? on: August 11, 2016, 02:21:03 PM
they are the same but they also have differences too.
as it was said before bitcoin is a currency also so you can withdraw it and use it as such, exactly like forex market so i guess it is more similar that way.
but the trading part is similar you place orders and buy and sell the same way. and technical analysis works here too.
the difference however is that stocks market is so much bigger and there is a company behind the stock that you buy but there is no company behind bitcoin and it is pure supply and demand.
1693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Africans Can Utilize Bitcoin... on: August 11, 2016, 02:13:09 PM
What would be your advise to most Africans to Utilize Bitcoin.

do what other people in other countries do.

earn bitcoin through different ways like mining bitcoin or mining altcoins, you can earn bitcoin as an individual by offering services, and many other ways.

you can buy bitcoin and use it as a currency.
if you have a business of your own like a sandwich shop, you can start accepting bitcoin and spread the word.
if you are a customer you can ask them to start accepting bitcoin and show them how easy it is and introduce them to bitpay.

I don't think they have the luxury to buy mining equipment let along afford the costs before reaching ROI, though they have plenty of sunlight and heat which can give them near to zero cost electricity.

i don't really understand how sunlight and heat can make then cheap electricity but if that is true then it makes a good investment for a mining farm. and surely there are people with enough money to start a mining farm there although cooling may be a problem.

besides you can always buy a GPU for gaming and start solo (or pool) mining altcoins yourself.
1694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New Crypto 2.0 with reversible transactions and smart contracts on: August 11, 2016, 02:07:05 PM
..... transaction reversal, ....

short answer: why not use PayPal then?

long answer: if you read the bitcoin paper, one of the reasons for creating a technology called bitcoin was implementing a non reversible transactions.

as the paper points out, you will need trust in reversible systems and the businesses have to start asking for lots of information on their customers to provide them with services.

and always there is going to be a big dispute about whether you should accept the reversal or not and you have to judge which party is lying.

...to an elected committee ...

i smell centralization.
and again why not use paypal
1695  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much can you earn with gambling? on: August 11, 2016, 01:56:13 PM
Any sites you recommend?
Strategy?

Hmmh, It depends on how lucky are you, if you are very lucky or good gambler, you can win lots of money, But if you won't have needed luck you can lose a lot

and i don't really think that there re such a thing as strategy, as all gambling is luck based so you can't have needed strategy
No, some gambling games need also strategy like poker, but yeah most of the times we need so much luck for us to win. But don't tell that there are no gambling games that were also need strategy because I think professional gamblers playing gambling games that is more on strategy than being so lucky.

If you are playing poker against a real player then strategy is really needed to win. But if its online poker where your opponent is the house then you have no match to it and you must need luck to win. I think pro gamblers are not gambling online or in some sites where you will play against the house, they won't win from it because the house is monitoring their winnings. If they notice you that you win some big amounts they will get it back.

the professional poker players will never play online. have you ever heard of the phrase "poker face" it refers to the fact that you need to read your opponent in poker, that is why they are only playing poker face to face.

besides when you are playing online or even worse , playing online against the house, then they can see your hand and act accordingly because the code is giving you the cards and it can be not-random.

Online poker games will be prone to hack. I remember an online poker game  before being hacked and you can see the cards of other players. And there is no point in playing poker if you cannot use your skills reading other players or displaying your poker face. As BTCLovingdude said, it is best played with real person face to face.

that is true but hacks can be resolved, the site can fix the problem on their platform that lead to the hack so that is just a one time thing and may affect a couple of games if the site replies fast to the problem.

but the main problem with online poker apart from not seeing the opponent face is that you can never be sure that you are playing against a human or the site itself and whether or not the site is seeing your hand.

Is there any other gambling game other than the dice game? Sorry. Newbie. Thank you.

practically you can gamble on anything, on dice, on coin flip, or even on the result of presidential candidacy.

you can also visit my signature for a different experience of gambling on a provably fair game Cheesy

if you use google and search for how to buy bitcoin you can find all your options.
but generally it depends on how you like to do it. you can use services like coinbase and circle mostly if you are living in US to buy bitcoin easier. or you can even use any of the exchanges like kraken, bitstamp, ... to buy bitcoin with credit card use cex.io
and also to buy from individuals go to localbitcoins.com and pay with cash, paypal.....

1700  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cold wallet or physical bitcoin.. on: August 10, 2016, 03:21:13 PM
What do you think?

the thing that you forgot to mentions is that what is your purpose for doing this?

if you are looking for security and holding bitcoin for a long term then paper wallet is the best choice and Trezor is good only if you are willing to spend $100+ on it.
also move your topic to an appropriate board here is speculation

but if you are speculating about the price of those physical coins like Casascius then you should look at the Collectibles board here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=217.0 and ask your question there.
