As expected South African fast bowlers controlled and dominated today's game. The Indian batters except Surya Kumar Yadav struggled. In my opinion KL Rahul should be dropped and Rishab Panth should be given a chance. They did give Deepak Hooda today but unfortunately he was out for a duck as expected. South Africa has an upper edge in this match and I am not expecting the Indian side to win this game.

Edit: Indian bowlers are now dominating the match with their swing bowling. It all depends now how the spinners bowls.

Indian fast bowlers did well at first because they had a good amount of swing. But the problem is Arshdeep was swinging the ball really well but he had around 130kmph pace. And right now the ball has become old. The ball is now not swinging. So, it is going to be a problem with this speed for him.

South Africa needs 32 runs from 24 balls.

Since the three quick wickets India did not filled too much success until recently they got the wicket of Markram.

Hilarious odd, lol  Cheesy
This was one of the easiest wins for Pakistan ever.
When the Netherlands won the toss and decided to bat first rather than bowl first, they made the wrong decision and did not do anything right at all.

There is no way you can justify winning the toss and batting first and ending up scoring only 91 runs in the whole 20 overs at the loss of 9 wickets. That is just not good and getting the runs did not prove to be any kind of problem for Pakistan. Pakistan did lose four wickets but they got to the target quite easily and quickly which is all that matters at the end of the day, because they will have to keep the net run rate higher.

Pakistan won @1.03
There was never going to be any other outcome unfortunately. Live odds never changed the whole time!
1703  Economy / Economics / Re: Education on: October 30, 2022, 04:57:11 AM
I believe more now than ever that work experience is more important than book knowledge and having a background of education. Having hands-on experience gives you a lot of advantages that fresh college graduates will not have and hand-on experience does not come with a expensive bill.

This is also because I believe it is also important who you know that will be able to open that door for you to continue getting more experience. For some people education is very important for them to succeed in life but not for all.

You have experience but if you do not have enough knowledge it will be difficult to create and innovate, you can only work rigidly, that is, it will be difficult for you to absorb new things. For those of you who have knowledge but have no experience, this is not too difficult, just go to work and apply the available knowledge and you will have experience very quickly. Education does not guarantee success but without education it will be very difficult to succeed, education is the basic foundation for a person to be successful.
1704  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 Bitcoin Halving - What are Your Expectations!!! on: October 30, 2022, 04:40:35 AM
It would seem reasonable to expect a new ATH 6 months after 2024 bitcoin halving event to be about $100K USD.  It just seems if you look at the previous patterns that there is an explosion of price/new ATH within a year of halving event.

Yes. But sometimes things don't turn out the way we hoped for. There's the issue of Russia and the increasing number of new COVID-19 variants, greatly affecting the global economy. We can't expect Bitcoin to reach a new ATH in price, especially when the crypto market is moving in correlation with the stock market. People are mainly focused on rising food, gas, and energy prices. Those who have spare money to pour into Bitcoin, are usually whales and/or wealthy people. The rest are putting their money aside into things that matters most.

Unless the recession comes to an end, Bitcoin will have a hard time trying to break through $68k per coin. At least, we know BTC will experience a slight uptick in price shortly after the halving. It might not reach a new ATH in price, but at least it will be worth more than what it is right now. As long as you play your cards right, there should be nothing to worry about. Just my opinion Smiley

The 4-year cycle may still repeat, but the current situation is much different than before, the macro impacts are directly affecting the market. For the crypto market, this has not happened before. Whether the stock market or the cryptocurrency market, it is very difficult to bounce back if the economy is still bad. The market depends on supply and demand, but in a crisis economy people focus on dealing with inflation and don't have much money to invest, once the demand is not there, that means there will be no catalyst to help the market go up. We still need the halving to be a catalyst for the market, but without demand, the market will hardly rise.
1705  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: October 29, 2022, 11:09:14 AM
....

But the way the mainstream media has been attacking El Salvador because they only abandoned US dollar a tiny bit is pure propaganda. Adopting bitcoin was never supposed to perform miracles in this poor country but it was a great first step towards that over the long haul.

Before using bitcoin, El Salvador used USD and it did not make El Salvador better and even risked default. Accepting and using bitcoin in place of USD does not guarantee that they will become rich or become a great power but if they do not get rid of the dependence on USD, they will never get rid of the debt and oppression of the developed countries. El Salvador's bitcoin revolution may or may not succeed, but bitcoin is opening a path that USD has never offered to El Salvador. "If you work hard, there is no guarantee that you will succeed, but if you don't work hard, you will never succeed".

... because it's not issued or controlled by a central authority (eg: Banks, governments).

I think this is what President Nayibbukele sees from bitcoin, bitcoin is not owned by anyone and it is not controlled by any government. This will be better for his country than using USD manipulated and controlled by the US government.
1706  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: October 29, 2022, 06:59:21 AM
I believe that the hosts are the clear favorite in today's match between Lens and Toulouse. Lens is currently only behind PSG in the standings and so far they are flawless at home matches, having won all 6 matches. In turn, the balance of Toulouse away matches is 1 victory, 1 draw and 3 defeats. I believe that today they will not improve this achievement and Lens will take another 3 points for the victory.
Toulouse are not a stable team of late, they always get into trouble when they play. And it's fair to say that Lens are the favorites in this game, they have a positive trend better than Toulouse of course. But still they had to be wary of Toulouse and not underestimate their guest. Because if they underestimate it is not impossible they will lose points. They also need to be able to win to get their points from Paris Saint Germain.
Agreed about Toulouse performance they are improving but still in away matches they are not good enough to hold team like Lens which is having perfect results in home matches and currently staying at second spot with this all most chances we will have no unusual thing going to happen in this match and Lens will be ending victorious and just two points behind leaders PSG which is good and Lorient and PSG are also doing good which mean we will have no change at the top of the league table.
Marseille and Monaco are also looking for good results and most chances they could be also won their respective matches which will give them full three points, but sadly they will be not able to have improvement in rank as right now things are tight for change in league table and will take good time.

Toulouse are not playing well. Not being able to produce consistent results as well. The attacking was okay-ish from them but the defending was horrible. They have conceded far too many goals so far this season. They will need to improve in this area.

Marseille is also not in good form after their 3 back to back losses. It feels unbelievable to think that we thought Marseille was going to be a top contender for the title. Now they are struggling.

The performance of Monaco has not been up to the standards. They have been too inconsistent. They have dropped points against teams they are not supposed to drop points.
1707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 29, 2022, 06:26:07 AM
There are still some rumours like Diego Simeone could leave Atletico Madrid soon. However he has refuted these speculations once again by saying that he wouldn't turn his back on Atletico Madrid now.

As you know they have been eliminated in the Champions League dramatically. Of course they didn't perform very well in the previous matches. That was the main reason of things to reach this point. But they still lost two points against Leverkusen in a dramatic way if you watched the incidents in the last moments. After this result some news sources must have tried to spread new rumours such as Simeone's departure. Maybe he thought of it last season for once but I don't think he is thinking of this for now. Because they are doing nice in the La Liga recently at least.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11360229/Diego-Simeone-insists-NOT-leave-Atletico-Madrid.html

Atletico Madrid is playing really well in La Liga. I, for one, do not believe that despite the fact that they did not have a very good time in the Champions League, they will actually take the step of firing the coach at this very moment, even though they did not have a very good time in the Champions League.

I honestly think that these are just some baseless rumors. Diego Simeone is not looking to leave the club right now in my opinion. The previous couple of years have not been pleasant for Atletico Madrid. However, they are doing well in the Spanish league this season so far. They are in the 3rd position and if they keep it up they may actually finish in the top 2 who knows?
1708  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: October 28, 2022, 06:53:40 PM
But it looks like this can be the week to end this bad streak for Tottenham. Their opponent up next is Bournemouth. We all remember how bad they are against big teams now. We can give the Liverpool example which they lost to them by 9-0. Maybe we wouldn't see such result but we should be seeing a clear win by Tottenham here.
On paper Spurs are obviously expected to come out comfortable winners in this game, but with a team like Spurs that are famous for capitulating, you just never know until the game has come and gone. I have openly criticized Conte's tactics and i will continue to do so until i see a meaningful improvement in how they play, i think Conte is just limiting the brilliant footballers he has in his team, it looks like everybody (even the attackers) has a more defensive role/job than in attack, and it isn't supposed to be so, if it were to be a small team that lacked the necessary quality to take games to the opposition, then it would be understandable, but Spurs have it all in their team and the manager should start allowing his boys express themselves better with the ball.

Having said that, i don't think this game will be easy for Spurs, i can see them struggling in it, they might actually get the three points, but it won't be a rout, Bournemouth will definitely have their moments as Conte has made it pretty easy for clubs to play against Spurs, they are very much predictable.

I agree with you. Spurs have become somewhat inconsistent under Conte. Before he had arrived, players like Harry Kane and Son had more freedom to play as they like and as a result, they used to score more goals and create more chances. But Conte likes to take care of his defense first and that has restricted Son and Kane to playing a bit more aggressively.

Even though they are 3rd in the league, the last 2 consecutive losses might have had a negative effect on the morale of the players and they will be driven to win the match against Bournemouth. Bournemouth are a lower mid-table team and thus, I don't think that Spurs will have a problem getting the win against them.
1709  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: October 28, 2022, 06:41:46 PM
This is a good opportunity for Juventus because they have a very high chance of winning. and this is an opportunity to collect full points from the match against Lecce. Likewise, Bapoli have a very high chance of winning. so no doubt Napoli can also collect full points from this match. and make Napoli even stronger at the top of the standings.
It should have been a win for Juventus but with their current condition even though in the last 2 games they have improved, I still have my doubts about them.
As for Napoli at this time, indeed with their performance, of course victory will be achieved, especially in the last few matches they always display an attractive attack and of course it is very worth watching.
Right now in this 12th round we have not entertaining match in Italian league with most of the strong teams are going to face lower rank weak sides which mean we will not have any change in ranks and after winning third consecutive match Juventus has to stay at 8th rank which is surely not good signs for them as they need to be at higher rank, but their performance is never been ideal in this season, and they are struggling like we have inter as well which is seventh in league table.
Napoli, AC Milan, Lazio and Atlanta are doing amazing job, and they need to keep this momentum which will give them better end of this season and Roma which was having good ambitions in this season are also not good and struggling at fifth even they have chance to improve rank, but this will take time as any upset game at top can give them better spot.

Juventus is facing a tough time. And obviously, they are not performing at their highest level. 19 points in 11 matches and 10 points behind the top team in the Italian League is just not enough. They will have to really improve their performance. And they will have a reasonable chance in the upcoming match to get all three points against Lecce.

Napoli is actually doing a very good job and I am quite impressed with their performance this season. I still remember that last season, they would generally start well at the beginning of the season, but then they were not able to be consistent. But I hope that's not the case this time.
1710  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 28, 2022, 04:58:16 PM
Arsenal is doing well, yes but I still never believed that Arsenal will take this premier league trophy, Their strength is only tested with small clubs not with bigger teams , check out how many big teams that they're able to win so far the league, just one. Last night they lost against psv and couldn't even get a single goal, When it's time people that should be in the top table will take over when it gets to a particular time.
Well first of all Arsenal had already qualified the group so doesn't matters if they lost their match in Europa, it isn't that big of a deal. Also about their strength against weak teams and not with big teams, its only Chelsea and City they haven't had their matches yet. They won against Liverpool and Spurs but lost against United (was a close one though), so they have been pretty much great against big sides as well. Making it to top of the table is still a long way to go but they have been great since the start of the season. I expect them to make it into at least top 4 this season as that will also be a great season for Gunners.

I agree with you. Arsenal played really well against Liverpool and Spurs, and I would say that the United match was somewhat unfortunate for them.

But overall, they have been playing surprisingly well this season. There is no doubt that the addition of Gabriel Jesus has given them a new dimension to their attacking gameplay. It is also worth noting that Man City are also looking pretty lethal this season. In my opinion, if Erling Haaland is able to maintain this level of consistency throughout the rest of the season, I think that we might be able to witness a really thrilling end-of-season game between these two teams. Arsenal's lack of squad depth, however, is likely to prove detrimental to them in the long run.

This is the result of me and my son, it took us 2 hours to complete it, it seemed quite difficult for us, but we finished it in the end Smiley.

Every day when I open my computer to work, he always asks what I am doing, I just answer "I work with Bitcoin" and today when he saw me carving pumpkins, he asked what I was doing, I still said "I work with Bitcoin". So the two of us rushed to work together. After done, he got very excited and said the "Bitcoin Pumpkin" was beautiful.

I ask him, do you like bitcoin? he replied to me that "I also want to work Bitcoin with you on the computer". Although he is too young to understand what Bitcoin is but I feel very happy and I will definitely teach him about Bitcoin when he grows up. I'm not sure if he's passionate about my choice? but I will definitely teach him everything about Bitcoin.

Once again, congratulations on Bitcointalk Bitcoin Pumpkin Carving Contest

Elon Musk officially became the new owner of the social network Twitter today.

Of course, this will not affect bitcoin or the market, but recent information has also been announced by CZ, that he has also contributed to helping Elon own Twitter.
With this news, I believe it will have an impact on the crypto market in the near future. Twitter is considered the top favorite space of crypto investors.

Do you think this will benefit the market or will it harm the market, it will be easier for Elon to manipulate the market and CZ is becoming a monopoly in many areas of the market??

This week Juventus will play against Lecce. Maybe they have not been to their best performance because they are still in a sad state after being eliminated from the champions league. Juventus is still in 8th place, of course that's not a good thing. La Vecchia Signora must win if they want to move up to the top 5 in the Serie A standings.
Lecce is not a strong opponent, but Juventus are also in a bad shape at the moment as evidenced by them being thrown to the 8th position in the standings with 19 points from 5 wins, 4 draws and 2 defeats. Although Lecce is not a strong team, but if Juventus is in a difficult situation then it is not impossible that Lecce will be able to embarrass Juventus in this match. Allegri has not been able to bring about good changes in the Old Lady's body, thus bringing them into a slump.
Juventus will use Lecce as an outlet. Not without reason, because Juventus had just been knocked out of the Champions League. The Bianconeri will aim for a win to improve their position in the Serie A standings as well as to restore the confidence of the fans.

On paper, Juventus is clearly very favored in this match. Allenatore Bianconeri, Maximiliano Allegri certainly wants his troops to play all out in order to achieve maximum results.

In addition, Lecce's condition is also very poor, they have undergone eleven matches in Serie A with poor results. The reason, Lecce is still difficult to win. Of the eleven matches that have been played, Lecce only managed to win once, draw five and lose five times.

Juventus are going to be the favorites in this match obviously. And they have also just been knocked out of the Champions League. So they will try to make a better result in Serie A.

Because this is the only target that they have right now. And this is going to be an easy match for Juventus against Lecce. I really do not expect Juventus to face any problems in this match. But football can be very unpredictable. Lecce will also try to take advantage of the fact that Juventus are not playing well right now. I highly doubt that they will actually be able to do it but there is always a chance. The performance of Lecce this season does not look good at all as they are almost in the relegation zone at the moment. On the other hand, Juventus has also not lived up to the expectations of the fans.

Afghanistan @1.65

***
Amazing turnaround for Zimbabwe who many on social media are saying this is revenge for fake Mr Bean that Pakistan gave them several years ago lol but this to me is a perfect example of Pakistan underestimating their opponent, and now they have to pay for it. So many upsets in this World Cup, it makes sense to keep betting on the weaker team!

The odds are good and in favor of Afghanistan. I also truly believe that Afghanistan should be able to win the match. I know that Ireland got a win against England, but that was pure luck. I think Afghanistan has what it takes to beat Ireland. Of course, unless there is another rain introduction and we end the match with the DLS method.

I really have no idea how Zimbabwe even dared to defend that small total, but they did. They won against Pakistan by one run. I have seen the match, it was really unpredictable towards the end. Anyone could have gotten away with the win. But when the Zimbabwe wicketkeeper missed trying to grab the ball thrown towards him to get the run out on the last ball my heart skipped a beat.

But eventually, he was able to do it. I think Pakistan just played too poorly, especially in the second innings. Pakistan has given away 14 extra runs in this match including 6 wide balls which came back to hurt them pretty badly.
1716  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do You Think Bitcoin Mining Will Be Banned Due to Fears of Climate Change? on: October 27, 2022, 09:33:12 AM

-snip-
I'm not sure the links you shared are particularly good news for the UK. While it does make it seem pretty unlikely that lawmakers there would pursue an outright ban on bitcoin, talks of more and more regulations are unwanted. Bitcoin does not need regulated. Reading between the lines, it sounds like this is them paving the way for a CBDC.

It is true that bitcoin does not need regulation, regulation does not benefit bitcoin, but I think regulation will be the general regulation for the entire crypto industry. Do you think cryptocurrencies need regulation? with scams rampant in the altcoin market causing heavy damage to investors and the overall reputation of cryptocurrencies. If we want to be popularized and mass-adopted, regulation is inevitable. Regulations can be frustrating if they are too strict but let's look at the bright side, cryptocurrencies are getting bigger and crypto is inevitable.
CBDC is bound to happen like it or not, but I don't see CBDC having any effect on bitcoin, so let them happen.
1717  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Metaverse still a thing on: October 26, 2022, 10:10:04 PM
I've heard of news not so long ago about Decentraland, one of the biggest and most funded metaverse projects out there having a measly daily active users of less than 40. On the other hand, Meta, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's answer to Metaverse has been receiving flak in multiple aspects of his still in-progress creation. I also noticed that less and less projects include implementation of their project or a fundamental of it in the Metaverse as a form of future-proof answer. So this begs the question, is Metaverse still the future? is it just a fever dream we once had that we are now waking up on?

Since 2000, there has been a trend to create virtual reality.  It is no coincidence that at the beginning of the new millennium the film "The Matrix" was filmed.

Since 2000, people have been actively using the Internet.  The virtual space has become the new frontier for people.  With the massive advent of smartphones, the Internet has become even more accessible.  The creation of a metaverse is a logical step towards the development of virtual reality.

However, we are currently seeing a slowdown in the process of creating a full-fledged Metaverse.

Why is this happening?  There can be many reasons.

After the covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, people are tired of virtual reality.  In addition, to create a full-fledged virtual reality, new devices are needed that have not yet been invented.

This is why the creation of the Metaverse has now slowed down.

Metaverse devices such as VR glasses are already on the market, but they are not really popular because of their high cost and are not widely used. Besides, metaverse is a very new concept that has not been deeply exploited, at the moment I only see Meta as the only company that is pushing to focus on this field, so there will be problems that need time to be resolved. Crypto projects like Mana or Sandbox are not really metaverse yet, as they only offer a few features of the metaverse. Their goal as well as other projects are to pump tokens and dump for profit, so it is impossible to look at these two projects to evaluate the entire metaverse field. They do not represent the metaverse.

I am wondering on what basis they are changing the pack prices on periodic basis? Like how do the stores know it’s time to upgrade the label this week?

The question is why are we just seeing the price upgrades in the Germany only? Every now and then I can see it’s only Germany everyone talking about. Why other EU regions are not in the mentions.

Does the Germany has Special relationship with the on going war or something?

Stores are also just an intermediary to bring products to consumers, once the manufacturer increases the price, the store must increase the price to make a profit.

In the EU region, Germany is perhaps the hardest hit country as it is largely dependent on Russian gas and now they only receive 6% of the gas supply after the Nord Stream pipeline was broken by crooks, they are having a headache to find an alternative gas source.

OP said he moved from Ireland to Germany which means OP is living in Germany so he can only update us on the situation in Germany.

The thing about Dillashaw's injury tho is that it's still bothering him.  He wasn't even in the open work outs a couple of days before the event.  If anything, his camp made a dumb decision pushing through with the match.  They could've asked for another schedule.
They could postpone it, but nobody likes when fighters cancel their fights for any reason.
Maybe he expected that he will recover in time for the fight against Sterling but this didn't happen, and I can only say that Sterling is one lucky champ.  Tongue
I was impressed Islam Makhachev and he is deserved champion in his division, worthy replacement for his coach Khabib.
Well done Belal Muhammad, he proved he is top fighter after win against Sean Brady, and I can see him doing good against welterweight champ Leon Edwards.

He should have to postpone it. In this match, Dillashaw is not a fighter who could have a profitable outcome if he was bet upon.

UFC 280 Dillashaw Vs Sterling is over by the way and as expected Sterling was the winner of the fight. It was a Knockout result in the second round. And it was really sad to witness a fight like this. Dillashaw was not in the fight at all. He got ragdolled and manhandled by Sterling. However, he had to be respected for continuing even with a dislocated shoulder. He got beaten up so badly by Sterling. Sterling was better than him in both the ground games and the stand-up game as well. Dillashaw had no chance in that fight.

Recently, President Nayibbukele criticized Western-controlled media that unfairly spoke out about bitcoin being legal tender in El Salvador that had failed. We've been through a bearish season for almost a year so far, and El Salvador maintains a hardline stance still not selling any bitcoin, along with that they are promoting bitcoin-related issues such as bringing bitcoin into education, continuing to develop bitcoin city...It's just the beginning, so don't judge us, we need time.
